Jake Lockley: Musician from the heart

Im most definitely not the most active chit chatterer here on tumblr, but i LOVE talking about hcs and my takes on things regarding moon knight and the moon knight system. I 100% believe that jake is a guitar player for a number of reasons. (i’ll also talk about the kinds of songs i think he’d play as well)

also pardon my horrible spelling/grammar i’m dyslexic asf

-Jake probably picked up the hobby in between mercenary missions he fronted for or lingered around the front for to pass the time. he’s very self taught, or was given occasional tips from people he’s worked with/people he’s encountered on missions. I imagine that he knows how to read music, but he’d rather just learn songs by ear or watch someone else play. so i imagine he’d listen to songs he wants to learn on repeat.

-Why Jake plays guitar is also very interesting to think about. i think that jake plays guitar as both a means of self expression, as well as a means of comfort. Each of the boys have different hobbies and different ways of expressing themselves, and i think that music is a really great way for him to do that. plus one of them having a hobby that involves the arts would absolutely be cool (totally don’t have bias here lol) he’d totally get creative with playing and get excited to learn new techniques.

My other reason as to why is because it’s a method of comfort. Jake learned guitar at a very complicated and emotionally difficult time in the systems life that was plagued by uncertainty. music was his way of grounding himself and letting out those emotions and feelings that bothered him without the others knowing. it gave him comfort when he couldn’t talk to anyone else, and still clings to it this day. every night when he’s down, he pours his soul into songs to fill it with love. it has ties to him, marc, and steven’s heritage of being latino(as well as jewish), and lets him reclaim their culture

-For what kinds of songs i think he’d play, do not get me started, i will not shut up😭 But since i’ve rambled this long, i might as well… i’m a die hard believer in argentinian!jake (blame it on the latam dub of moon knight jajaja) So obviously, he’d play tangos on guitar. very precise and passionate for a very precise and passionate guy. he’d also play softer, sweeter serenades as well. he’d play serenades to the people he’s close with as his way of showing he cares, and finally, he’d probably play some latam songs that are traditionally played on guitar.

-for my last point, i’d like to talk about how i think he’d write songs as well. jake would write songs in similar styles to the ones he plays, but puts his own spin on it as well. he’d write songs about his emotions or his struggles or about the people he cares about. in technical musician terms i think he’d utilize minor keys or his perfect pitch to make chord patterns that are pleasing to hear.

jakes a caring guy, and his music comes from the heart as well, his experiences and the people he’s surrounded with influence both him and the music he plays. it grows and evolves, but reguardless of what changes he is always Jake Lockley, a man of the people.

but uh yeah that’s what i think about jake playing guitar hope yall liked it back to my little hibernation hole i go 🏃‍♀️

Jake Lockley hairstyle Headcanons

a little thought i’ve had consistently is what jakes hairstyle is. as i’ve began to draw him more and more and it makes me wonder. it’s always tucked away in his cap, but maybe it’s different than stevens and marcs, but what would it look like exactly?🤔🤔 allow me to explain

it looks somewhat like johnathan from scenes from a marriage’s hair, with some alterations

it wouldn’t be as long as johnathans, but it would have the same style. it would be slicked back.

it’s the perfect balance of marc and stevens hair. it wouldn’t be as heavily gelled as marc’s, and it wouldn’t be as untamed and fluffy as stevens. (but don’t get me wrong, i love all of their hairstyles <333)

the reason why jake would have that slicked back style is that he can easily just like slick it back and put it under his cap. it makes sense that he wouldn’t go through all the trouble of putting a ton of gel in his hair like marc’s, or leave it unkempt (is that the word for it? i’m not sure my english isn’t too good-) like stevens where putting a hat of it would just push all his hair in his face.

it makes sense that he’d just quickly slick it back and put on his cap. maybe he’d put a bit of water on it if he really wanted it to stay, but the best part is that maybe theirs some little stray hairs that refuse to be slicked back (free the curls) and peer out a little from under his hat.

the first installment of my moon knight screenshot redraw series! first up is the lovley steven grant! this is one of my favorite scenes with steven and i wanted to do my own personal twist on it! a moment as sweet as this deserves a sky of equal beauty, and i'm really happy with how it turned out!

i need the moon knight system and miguel o’ hara to meet up with each other on screen and have it be like who framed roger rabbit and have live action moon knight and animated miguel. think about it, several grumpy guys and a pigeon complaining about how everyone around them annoys them, including each other. Moon Knight Sonata:

A Character study…

i wanted to do an art piece that was inspired by moon light sonata (the first movement specifically) and how it reflects marc’s character a lot.

I’ve been a classical musician for about fifteen years, and am very familiarized with the three movement. the sonata itself wasn’t called moonlight sonata until about five years after beethovens death, when a poet had described the first movement as like moonlight shinning on a river.

It’s a melancholy, bittersweet piece with an overall yearning feeling, and i feel like it parallels some of the struggles marc has felt. He yearns to do his best to protect the people he cares about and wants to do whatever he can, but he feels like no matter how hard he tries it’s never enough.

Marc goes to great lengths to make sure the people he cares about are safe and happy. he sends postcards to Steven, tries his best to let him live a normal life for as long as he can and loves Layla dearly. so much so to the point where he continues to be khonshu’s avatar after so many years because he thinks she’d become his next avatar, and marc doesn’t want her to experience what he did.

he hopes and tries for the best, balancing and sacrificing his chances at a regular life so that his loved ones can be happy as well as trying his best to please them as much as he can, but sometimes he feels like it isn’t enough or that he can’t always make them happy, and i feel like this sonata does a good job of putting all those feelings into song.

i also used the colors i see when i hear this song as inspiration for the color pallet here, so enjoy :D
