on the weekend we celebrated my baby sister’s hen’s night, and the theme was ‘Night at the Atelier’.
I decided I wanted to do a riff on my go to slutty look of wearing a thong under a chiffon skirt
—but I wanted to wear these cute knickers from Bettie Page Lingerie, with these giant bows on the hips
which presented the problem of the skirt sitting weird over the irregular shape of the bow. So I decided to make a tulle faux-pannier to smooth it out, and give me some va va voom hips in the process.
my beloved pink chiffon skirt wasn’t quite fitting and the hook and eye needed replacing, so I used some grosgrain ribbon to make a closure, but due to brain fog I kind of made it exactly the right size—meaning it would only fit when I wasn’t moving!
So in the end, I wore [one of] my other pleated chiffon skirt, which isn’t cut on the bias, so didn’t sit quite as nicely (or transparently) as the orchid skirt. It looked a little more baroque than john galliano, but was still very fun!
here are some photos my mom took of me like I was going off to prom.
I shall have to keep a look out for a replacement for my beloved pink skirt. I miss it.
