It is with deep regret and heavy hearts that the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services announces the passing of Dr. Andrew D. Butterfass on December 31, 2019. Dr. Butterfass was a long time supporter of emergency services in this county. His commitment and dedication to supporting our EMS agencies, his clinical expertise and compassion will be truly missed.
The funeral will take place on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 1100hrs at Temple Israel Center [280 Old Mamaroneck Road, White Plains, NY 10605]. Burial will follow at Beth David Cemetery [300 Elmont Road, Elmont NY 11003]. Shiva will be held following services.

He leaves behind his loving wife Alissa and two children Max 13 and Seth 10. Andy was the most caring and generous friend you could ask for. Milton Vogelstein
Milton Vogelstein passed away Monday, June 25, 2018, at the age of 91. Born February 16, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Newman and Mary Marabel Vogelstein. Milton attended John Marshall JHS, Brooklyn Technical HS, Brooklyn College (interrupted by a brief service in the United States Navy during World War II, stationed on the US North Carolina), Columbia’s Teachers College, and Columbia College. He served 37 years in the New York City Schools as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. He lived in Wantagh, LI for 38 years before moving south in 1997. He loved attending the Symphony, the Theatre and was an avid reader as well as a Master Gardener. Before becoming ill, Milton enjoyed traveling extensively. He was a member of Temple B’nai Israel where he had served on the membership committee. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lee Vogelstein; son, Dr. Seth Vogelstein and his wife Karen of Beavercreek, OH; daughter, Paula Jarvis and husband Stephen of West Milford, NJ; three granddaughters, Michelle, Amy, and Gabrielle and one great-grandson Lucas Stephen. Visitation will be 11:30 AM-12:00 PM Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Parkside Memorial Chapel, 98-60 Queens Blvd., Rego Park, NY 11374, with services following at 12:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by Rabbi Yossi Liebowitz. Burial will be at Beth David Cemetery, 300 Elmont Rd., Elmont, NY 11003. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue New York NY 10065, or Gibbs Cancer Center, SRHS Foundation, 101 East Wood St., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
