You should definitely have your own opinions. When you’re young, you listen to your parents and to other people, but that doesn’t mean you have to do exactly as they say all the time. Older people grew up in a different generation–they’re “old school”. It’s a vicious cycle, I guess. You just have to know right from wrong, and make your own mistakes and learn from them. Their guidance and knowledge are important, but you also don’t have to follow everything to the dot, because if you do, you probably won’t be happy as a person. And you know, if you’re not happy, you can’t be confident.
