Journey to Purity: Fiji’s Artesian Water Secrets
The Hidden Wells Beneath Paradise
Deep beneath the volcanic landscapes of Fiji, a quiet marvel unfolds. Rainwater, filtered through layers of ancient rock, gathers in secluded aquifers, untouched by the clamor of the modern world. This is the birthplace of natural artesian water Fiji, a pristine gift shaped by nature’s slow, deliberate hand. Unlike surface water exposed to pollutants or treated municipal supplies, this liquid treasure emerges from the earth with a clarity and mineral richness that’s rare in today’s fast-paced, industrialized age. It’s a story of patience and purity, one that begins far below the lush greenery of an island paradise and ends in a glass held halfway across the globe.
What Makes Artesian Water Special
The magic of artesian water lies in its journey. Trapped under pressure in underground chambers, it doesn’t rely on pumps or artificial means to reach the surface—it rises on its own, driven by the earth’s natural forces. This process imbues it with a distinct character, subtly enriched by minerals like silica, calcium, and magnesium as it trickles through volcanic stone. For those who seek pure artesian water from Fiji, it’s more than hydration—it’s a taste of something elemental, a connection to a time when water was shaped by geology, not machinery. Each sip carries the essence of a remote ecosystem, untouched and unhurried.
A Taste Forged by Volcanic Roots
Fiji’s rugged terrain isn’t just a backdrop—it’s the architect of this water’s identity. The islands’ volcanic origins create a natural filtration system, stripping away impurities while leaving behind a balanced mineral profile. This
isn’t water rushed through a factory or stripped bare by over-processing; it’s a slow dance between rain and rock, refined over years. Natural artesian water Fiji stands apart because of this geological alchemy, offering a smoothness and crispness that feels almost alive. It’s as if the islands themselves bottled their spirit, sending it out to a world thirsty for something authentic.
Purity in an Impure World
In an era where tap water often carries traces of chemicals and bottled options raise questions about plastic waste, the allure of pure artesian water from Fiji grows stronger. Sourced from aquifers shielded from surface contamination, it arrives with a promise of cleanliness that’s hard to replicate. The distance from industrial sprawl and urban runoff ensures that what flows from these wells remains untainted—a rarity in a global water market crowded with compromise. For those who value what’s unspoiled, this water isn’t just a drink; it’s a statement about seeking out the best the planet can offer.
The Environmental Dance of Source and Supply
Fiji’s artesian water doesn’t come without consideration. Harvesting it involves a delicate balance—tapping the aquifers sustainably while preserving the island’s natural harmony. The process often emphasizes minimal interference, letting the water rise as it has for centuries, guided by gravity rather than greed. This respect for the source ties into a broader ethos: delivering natural artesian water Fiji without stripping the land bare. It’s a reminder that purity isn’t just about what’s in the bottle, but how it gets there, weaving a thread of responsibility into every drop shipped across oceans.
A Global Thirst for Something Real
The reach of pure artesian water from Fiji stretches far beyond its tropical origins, finding its way into homes, offices, and restaurants worldwide. Its appeal lies in its story—a tale of isolation, nature, and time that resonates in a culture craving authenticity. People don’t just drink it; they savor it, drawn to the idea of something crafted by the earth rather than a lab. This water bridges continents, turning a remote island’s bounty into a shared experience, one that invites reflection on where our resources come from and what we value in them.

How Clean Water Improves Skin, Hair, and Overall Wellness
Water is the foundation of good health, but not all water is created equal. The water in your home can directly impact your skin, hair, and overall well-being. If you’ve ever experienced dry skin, brittle hair, or unexplained irritation, your water quality could be to blame. A whole-house water filtration system, like those from One Water Systems, ensures that every drop of water you use is free from harsh chemicals, heavy metals, and contaminants—leading to healthier skin, stronger hair, and a better quality of life.
1. Healthier, More Hydrated Skin
Unfiltered water often contains chlorine, chloramine, heavy metals, and other harsh chemicals that strip the skin of its natural oils. This can lead to: ✔️ Dryness and flakiness ✔️ Increased sensitivity and redness ✔️ Worsening of conditions like eczema and psoriasis
By removing these irritants, clean, filtered water helps maintain your skin’s natural moisture barrier, leaving it soft, hydrated, and less prone to irritation.
💡 Tip: If you constantly need heavy moisturizers or experience persistent dryness, switching to filtered water can make a significant difference.
2. Stronger, Shinier Hair
Your hair’s health is directly affected by the water you wash it with. Hard water (water with excess minerals like calcium and magnesium) and chlorine can: ❌ Make hair feel dry, brittle, or frizzy ❌ Cause scalp irritation and dandruff ❌ Lead to buildup that dulls hair color and weakens strands
With a whole-house filtration system, your water is free from these damaging elements, helping your hair retain its natural moisture and shine. Many people notice a smoother texture, reduced breakage, and improved scalp health after switching to filtered water.
💡 Tip: If your hair never seems to hold moisture or feels rough despite using high-quality products, your water may be the culprit!
3. Reduced Exposure to Harmful Chemicals
Even if your water looks and smells clean, it may contain invisible contaminants like: 🚫 Chlorine & Chloramine – Used for disinfection but linked to dryness and irritation. 🚫 Fluoride & Heavy Metals – Can disrupt skin health and overall well-being. 🚫 Pesticides & Pharmaceuticals – Trace amounts can be absorbed through your skin.
Since your body absorbs water not just through drinking but also through bathing and showering, exposure to these contaminants can take a toll on your health over time. A whole-house filtration system ensures that every drop of water is pure and safe, reducing the burden on your skin and body.
4. Anti-Aging & Overall Skin Wellness
Filtered water doesn’t just prevent dryness—it also plays a role in anti-aging and skin health. Clean, chemical-free water: 🌿 Supports collagen production – Preventing premature wrinkles and sagging. 🌿 Balances skin pH levels – Reducing breakouts and irritation. 🌿 Helps detoxify the skin – Removing impurities more effectively.
Drinking and washing with clean water allows your skin to function at its best, keeping it clear, youthful, and radiant for years to come.
💡 Tip: If you’re investing in expensive skincare but still experiencing skin issues, your water might be undoing all your efforts!
5. Boosting Overall Wellness
Your skin and hair are just the beginning—clean water impacts your entire body and mind. With a whole-house filtration system, you can expect: ✔️ Better hydration, leading to improved digestion and energy levels. ✔️ Stronger immune function, as your body isn’t fighting off unnecessary toxins. ✔️ Improved sleep & stress levels, since your system isn’t overloaded with contaminants.
Simply put, the purer your water, the healthier you are—inside and out.

Water Quality and Cannabis Germination: Key Considerations
Water quality is a cornerstone of successful cannabis seed germination. Water not only hydrates the seed but also creates the perfect environment for metabolic activity, enzyme activation, and nutrient uptake. Ensuring the right water conditions is crucial for giving cannabis seeds the best possible start. In this guide, we’ll discuss how water quality influences germination, dive deeper into the key considerations, and explore advanced tips to optimize results.
The Science Behind Water in Cannabis Germination
Water is the trigger for the germination process. When seeds absorb water, they swell, breaking the dormancy phase. This process, called imbibition, softens the seed coat, activates enzymes, and initiates cell division. However, not all water is equal. Variations in pH levels, mineral content, and contaminants can enhance or hinder germination. Understanding these factors is essential to avoid common pitfalls and ensure a high germination success rate.
Key Parameters Influencing Water Quality
1. pH Balance
The pH level of water dictates its acidity or alkalinity and has a direct impact on the enzymes and nutrients available to the seed.
Optimal Range: Cannabis seeds prefer water with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5.
Why It Matters: A pH level outside this range can interfere with the seed’s ability to absorb water and nutrients, leading to poor or failed germination.
How to Test: Use a digital pH meter or test strips for accurate measurements.
Adjustments:
To lower pH, add a few drops of lemon juice or diluted phosphoric acid.
To raise pH, use baking soda or potassium bicarbonate in small amounts.
2. Mineral Composition
The mineral content of water can either support or hinder germination. This includes calcium, magnesium, and trace elements found in water.
Hard Water: Contains high levels of minerals like calcium and magnesium. While beneficial in small amounts, excessive hardness can lead to mineral deposits that block water absorption.
Soft Water: Lacks essential minerals but is less likely to leave residue.
Solution: Use filtered or balanced mineral water to ensure the right composition for seed germination.
3. Purity and Contaminants
The purity of water is vital for healthy germination. Contaminants such as chlorine, heavy metals, and bacteria can damage seeds or introduce pathogens.
Chlorine/Chloramine: Commonly found in tap water and toxic to seeds.
Heavy Metals: Can accumulate and affect seedling growth.
How to Purify Water:
Let tap water sit uncovered for 24–48 hours to evaporate chlorine.
Use a water filter or dechlorinating agents to remove impurities.
4. Oxygenation
Oxygen in water supports cellular respiration in the seed, which is critical for germination.
Tip: Aerate water by stirring it or using an aquarium pump to increase oxygen levels.
5. Temperature of Water
Temperature affects how seeds absorb water and activate enzymes.
Optimal Range: Water should be maintained between 70°F and 75°F (21°C–24°C).
Why It Matters: Water that’s too cold slows down enzyme activity, while hot water can damage the seed coat.
Tip: Use room-temperature water for the best results.
Water Sources for Cannabis Germination
1. Tap Water
Advantages:
Readily available and inexpensive.
Contains natural trace minerals.
Disadvantages:
May contain chlorine, fluoride, or heavy metals harmful to seeds.
Tips:
Always test pH and dechlorinate before using tap water.
2. Rainwater
Advantages:
Naturally soft and free of chlorine.
Contains beneficial trace elements.
Disadvantages:
May be contaminated with pollutants in urban areas.
Tips:
Filter rainwater before use and avoid collection during heavy pollution periods.
3. Distilled Water
Advantages:
Pure and free from contaminants or minerals.
pH can be easily adjusted.
Disadvantages:
Lacks natural minerals needed for optimal growth.
Tips:
Supplement with a trace mineral solution when using distilled water.
4. Filtered Water
Advantages:
Removes chlorine, sediment, and some heavy metals.
Retains essential minerals for cannabis germination.
Disadvantages:
Filtration quality depends on the system used.
Tips:
Use a high-quality filtration system for consistency.
5. Bottled Water
Advantages:
Convenient and often pre-balanced for pH.
Free of harmful contaminants.
Disadvantages:
Costly and not sustainable for large-scale use.
Tips:
Use bottled water as a backup option, not a primary source.
Common Water-Related Germination Mistakes
1. Using Untested Water
Failing to check pH, mineral content, or contaminants can lead to germination failure.
Solution: Always test and adjust water before use.
2. Overwatering
Too much water can suffocate seeds and promote mold growth.
Solution: Keep the medium damp but not soggy.
3. Ignoring Chlorine
Using untreated tap water introduces harmful chemicals that can damage seeds.
Solution: Dechlorinate water or use alternatives like filtered water.
4. Relying on Impure Water Sources
Unfiltered water may carry bacteria or heavy metals.
Solution: Ensure the purity of your water source.
Best Practices for Water Use in Germination
1. Pre-Soak Seeds
Pre-soaking seeds in clean, pH-balanced water for 12–24 hours can soften the seed coat and speed up germination.
2. Monitor and Maintain Humidity
Water quality alone isn’t enough; maintaining a moist environment is equally crucial. Use a humidity dome to retain moisture.
3. Aerate Water Regularly
Increasing the oxygen content of water supports healthier germination. Stir water vigorously or use an aeration pump.
4. Adjust Water Based on Medium
The type of germination medium (e.g., soil, paper towel) may require slight variations in water use. For example:
Soil: Use water sparingly to avoid waterlogging.
Paper Towels: Ensure consistent moisture without oversaturation.
Signs of Poor Water Quality in Germination
Slow or Failed Germination: Indicates improper pH, contaminants, or insufficient oxygen.
Seed Rot or Mold Growth: Caused by overwatering or using contaminated water.
Yellowing or Weak Seedlings: Linked to nutrient imbalances from hard or soft water.
Advanced Water Management Tips
Use Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water
RO water provides ultra-pure hydration by removing nearly all impurities and dissolved solids.
Incorporate Mycorrhizae
Adding beneficial fungi to water can enhance nutrient uptake during germination.
Mix a Light Nutrient Solution
For seeds in hydroponic systems, mix a low-concentration nutrient solution into the water for added support.
Conclusion
Water quality plays a pivotal role in cannabis germination success. By understanding the impact of pH, mineral content, and contaminants, growers can create optimal conditions for their seeds to thrive. Regular testing, proper adjustments, and using clean water sources can make a significant difference in germination rates. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced grower, prioritizing water quality is a step toward healthier seedlings and higher yields.

Helpful Tips and Natural Remedies for Nausea and Vomiting

Nausea and vomiting is a common side-effect of some chemotherapies. Depending on location, radiation can also cause nausea and vomiting. Here are some tips and natural recommendations that can help.
Dietary Recommendations
1. Staying hydrated is very important. If possible, try to drink 8 or more cups of liquid each day (and an additional ½ to 1 cup for each episode of vomiting). Sip small amounts frequently throughout the day. You may need to use a straw. Wait 30 to 60 minutes after eating solid foods before drinking liquids. Avoid very hot liquids and use a covered cup if smells are bothersome. Clear fluids are usually the best tolerated. Try one or all of the following:
Water or ice chips
Juice (diluted with water or sparkling water)
Frozen fruit-juice bars (or popsicles made from these other fluid choices)
Vegetable broth
2. If vomiting is an issue, when it's controlled, try to replenish lost fluids and electrolytes. First try small amounts of clear liquids. 👆 Next add in water mixed with an electrolyte powder. Here are two I recommend.
Trace Minerals Power Pak, Mango Orange
Trace Minerals Power Pak, Mixed Berry
Start with a teaspoon every 10 minutes and gradually increase the amount to 1 tablespoon, and eventually to ¼ cup. Next add plain, easy-to-digest, starchy foods such as crackers or bread, and continue to incorporate more foods in if/when they are tolerated.
3. Eat small amounts of food frequently throughout the day. Nausea may be intensified on an empty stomach since stomach acid usually makes nausea worse.
4. Choose foods that appeal to you and that you feel you can tolerate. Be aware that your tastes may change from day-to-day and from hour-to-hour.
5. Food that may help nausea include: dry toast or cereal, plain crackers, pretzels, rice cakes, pita bread, plain rice, cold pasta without sauce, potatoes, hot cereal, applesauce, canned fruit, fruit-juice-sweetened sorbets or ices, and organic eggs.
6. Foods that are served cold or at room temperature may be easier to consume. Avoid foods with strong odors, as well as environments with strong smells of food, smoke, candles, and perfumes. Avoid warm, stuffy rooms.
7. Avoid fatty, fried, spicy, or overly sweet foods.
8. Brush your teeth and/or use (natural) mouthwash both before and after meals. Lingering tastes can trigger nausea and also may decrease appetite. Sucking on mints or lozenges in between meals may help.
9. Try eating a small amount of grated ginger. Add it to rice or other bland foods. Herbal teas such as ginger, fennel, peppermint, orange, and tangerine may help.
10. Consider ginger capsules, ginger chews, and herbal bitters specifically for nausea. Here are two supplements I highly recommend:
Nutritional Fundamentals for Health Ginger SAP
Herb Pharm Better Bitters
Other Suggestions:
Acupuncture is one of the most effective therapies for chemo-induced nausea and vomiting. In fact, most insurance companies cover the cost of or reimburse for acupuncture when it’s related to this condition. Find a licensed acupuncturist in your area who is well trained in oncology care.
Try other stress-management therapies including focused relaxation and breathing exercises, hypnosis and self-hypnosis, guided imagery, biofeedback, and wrist-band acupressure.
Overstimulating the nervous system can induce nausea and vomiting. Avoid noisy environments and commotion. Limit conversation when nauseous.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that does not create restriction on or around your abdomen.
Moderate aerobic activity such as walking for 10 to 30 minutes per day may help with peristalsis and digestion. Fresh air can also be beneficial. Avoid lying flat for an hour or two after eating. If you need to rest, sit or recline with your head at least four inches higher than your feet.
Fill a bowl with boiling water. Add one drop of essential oil of ginger per pint of water. Cover your head with a towel, close your eyes, and inhale the aroma for 5 minutes.

However, here are some essential minerals that are commonly found in drinking water and play important roles in human health mineral drops:
Calcium: Calcium is essential for the development and maintenance of strong bones and teeth. It also plays a role in muscle function, blood clotting, and nerve transmission.
Magnesium: Magnesium is important for muscle and nerve function, as well as for maintaining healthy bones and regulating blood pressure.
Sodium: Sodium is needed for maintaining proper fluid balance in the body and for nerve and muscle function. However, excessive sodium intake can lead to high blood pressure and other health issues.
Potassium: Potassium is necessary for proper heart and muscle function, as well as for maintaining normal blood pressure.
Iron: Iron is essential for the production of red blood cells and the transportation of oxygen throughout the body. However, excessive iron in drinking water can have adverse health effects.
Zinc: Zinc is important for immune function, wound healing, and DNA synthesis.
Copper: Copper is required for the formation of red blood cells and maintaining healthy bones and nerves.
Selenium: Selenium is an antioxidant mineral that helps protect cells from damage and is important for the functioning of the thyroid gland.
Fluoride: Fluoride is often added to drinking water to prevent tooth decay. It helps strengthen tooth enamel.
It’s important to note that while these minerals are essential for health, the concentration of these minerals in drinking water should be within recommended limits. High levels of certain minerals, such as arsenic or lead, can be harmful to health.
The specific mineral content of drinking water can vary widely depending on the source of the water and the treatment processes it undergoes. Public water supplies are typically monitored to ensure that the mineral content falls within acceptable ranges. If you have concerns about the mineral content of your drinking water or if you have specific dietary needs, you may want to consult with a healthcare professional or have your water tested for mineral content.

The formulas are written accordingly to the ancient scriptures, and while drawing them, the monk must say sermons and prayers to invite the power of Buddha, Devas, and holy ghosts of departed master or guru monk to accumulate their power in the molecule of the powder. At the end of each writing, monk will then erase the formulas of cabalistic writings, and keep the chalk dust in a container for further making Buddha amulets.

What to Take Care in the Exterior Car Wash?
The best way to deal with washing your car is to begin at the top and wash descending. This makes sure that the parts of your car that are the dirtiest are cleaned first.
Be cautious with the brushes. They can leave minute chips in your car's defensive paint.
Need for any Carwash and Detailing services in Kingston, Canada, reach out to Maple Carwash and Detailing Services.

Surface Planning.
It's vital to set up every car for washing so that water sheets and runs off instead of pools on the body and under the wheel curves. Make use of a professional car cleaning product that will let the water run and prevent soap stains from appearing on the paint and glass.
Additionally, remove any greasy spots from the exterior to prevent potential tripping hazards. For example, oil spots from tire grease or WD-40 can be dangerous and represent a gamble for falling. To ensure clear images and to keep Autopilot and safety features functioning properly, make sure the cameras are free of dirt and condensation.
At last, keep away from contrivances like a splash of wax that adds practically nothing to the car's appearance and surely doesn't safeguard against UV harm as hand-applied clean/wax does. It can even damage the car's paint, making it more susceptible to sun damage in the future. A good detailer will use a clay bar to get rid of impurities and overspray traces that ordinary detergents can't get rid of.
Washing.
A quality car wash ought to incorporate exhaustive tidying to separate solidified soil and garbage. This step not only exposes any serious issues like rust and corrosion, but it also helps reduce the likelihood of scratching surfaces.
Start by washing away any loose dirt in a shaded location. To avoid the mineral buildup that ruins many car waxes and causes streaking and water spots, always use deionized water.
Then, wash all outside surfaces of the car utilizing a low pH car wash cleanser to try not to harm paint and clear covers. It's really smart to have two cans of perfect, tepid water - one to dunk your wipe or glove and the other for washing.
Cleaners and waxes should not be applied to matte black rubber or plastic parts because they can stain and require special cleaners to be removed. Particular caution should be exercised around the camera lens because any grit or other contaminants may cause blurry images or even prevent Autopilot and safety features from functioning. Finally, use a chamois to dry all exterior surfaces to prevent water spots and swirl marks.
Rinsing.
The crucial step of rinsing is to make sure that all of the cleaning products have been removed. Utilizing a rinse of the highest possible quality is essential. The wash ought to be deionized and ideally warm or hot, not cold or cool. This will keep the water from drying on the car and making water spots.
It is likewise critical to completely wash the wheels. The superheated semi-metallic brake dust that adheres to the wheel's clear coat frequently causes the wheels of automobiles to become filthy. A decent washing methodology will ordinarily eliminate a large portion of this and make the wheel look new once more.
The final step in the exterior carwash is drying, which should be done with a towel made of chamois or microfiber that is very absorbent. It is essential to try not to rub the paint too generally or you might scratch it. Utilizing an air blower is likewise an extraordinary approach to rapidly and securely dry the car before any impurities, like denatured liquor, are applied to eliminate obstinate oil, tar spots, or bird droppings.
Drying.
To appropriately safeguard the paint and different surfaces of a car, drying the surface post-washing is significant. This aids in the prevention of swirl marks and scratches that could result from using the towel improperly. As of late, another enumerating item classification has arisen called drying helps. These are shower-on items applied to the car post-cleaning before any towels are utilized to dry it.
Throughout the drying process, this help to prevent swirl marks and scratching by providing lubrication. By removing water from the surface, drying aids also reduce drying time, allowing your towels to work more quickly.
Dry the windshield and windows first after rinsing. Move on to the plastic and rubber trim when the glass is dry.

Reaching for Tomorrow
CS Neverland New Year 2022
Summary: One of the many things Killian Jones had hoped he'd left behind him - his hair far more silver than it once was, and lines etched a bit more deeply around his eyes - was Neverland. Yet fate had other plans, and here he was in the deep of it's green, suffocating jungle, wondering at how his worst nightmare had become the sight of his wife standing in front of him.
Rating: T
Author’s Note: Hello All! My apologies that I do not have more of this completed for you guys. Life has been nothing if not uncooperative lately, and despite my best efforts, this was the best I could do. Rather than fuss over the state of it, I'm simply going to drop it here as a prologue and hope I can do the rest some justice. Please excuse what I'm sure will be numerous errors.
@neverlandnewyear
Prologue
Killian's boots grated against stone as he landed, a natural balance honed over hundreds of years at sea finding him as the air shimmered and closed in his wake. The fading glow of the portal cast his surroundings in a sickly hue, and then disappeared altogether, leaving him in a darkness that was broken only by a diffuse light reaching down from the craggy, stone ceiling that closed above. He blinked against the shadows, his fingers tightening around the small palm clasped in his own.
“Papa, are we...”
“Aye, love,” he murmured, folding his daughter easily into his side where she still fit so perfectly. Here presence was enough to slow the rapid flutter of his heart as it caught in his throat. “Stay close. Pan may be long gone, but we've no idea what reigns in his place.”
“Where are we?” she whispered, her own sneakers dragging through grit as she turned in his arm, taking in the dark stone and shadows that surrounded them – it was not the Neverland she knew from the Storybook, or from her father's tales.
Killian's gaze followed her own, taking in the rough inclines of stone that stretched upward, heavy planes of rock traced with veins of nitre and the glistening hint of water. A hazy, ephemeral light filtered down from small cracks in the earth far above their heads. At first, he'd been concerned that something had gone awry with the portal and they'd traveled somewhere unforeseen, but the taste of the air was familiar to him. Beneath the damp and sharp tang of minerals, there was the undercurrent of Neverland's magic.
He'd never forgotten the crawl of it across his skin.
Why the portal had chosen to leave them in such an unfamiliar place on the island, however, was not a quandry he knew the answer to.
“Some sort of cavern, it appears.”
He stroked his daughter's curls absentmindedly, for the moment assured that there was no immediate danger. Though their exact location eluded him for the time being, once they found their way to fresh air, he would find known landmarks and be able to ascertain their exact location. Then he would need to find a safe place to set up camp for the night.
“Come, little love,” he murmured, smiling bitterly at the small snort that was so much like her mother's at the sound of the endearment he so rarely used anymore – I'm not little, Papa. “Let's find out way out of this cavern and see the lay of the land.”
“I'm scared,” she admitted, pulling back against him when he tried to guide them forward. He couldn't see well enough, but he knew her lips would be set in a familiar grim line. “What if Mom can't...what if...”
“Hope,” Killian soothed, dropping to a knee beside her and leaning close enough that she could just make out the certainty in his expression. “I've yet to see your mother fail at anything she's set her mind to, and I have no doubt she'll find a way. We just have to – ”
“ – wait for her,” Hope finished, her fingers dropping from behind her ear and back to her side. “We just have to wait for her, and she'll find us.”
“Aye, now then, let's make haste. I don't envy whatever lurks in these dark places, and it appears the cavern narrows into a corridor ahead.”
Hope's agreement was silent, her hand tightening in his as they both moved forward toward the passageway that split the stone on the opposite end of the room in which the portal had deposited them. They hadn't gone far, barely moving within its narrow length when the walls around them shook, stone grating and groaning to life somewhere nearby, but beyond their sight.
“Papa!” Hope hissed, her panic as sharp as the glint of his hook as he pushed her behind him and adopted a ready stance – the corridor too narrow for him to safely draw his sword. Her fingers clutched his arm and her breath evened as the violent trembling of stone slowed and then ceased completely. “What was that?”
“I don't know, but I'd rather not wait around to find out. Let's move quickly, but quietly, love.”
Sensing the edge in his voice, Hope merely nodded and stuck to his side as he hurried down the passageway as quickly as silence would allow, their breath the only sound in the narrow space, but they hadn't moved more than a dozen steps when Killian's hand found her chest, stilling her movement and stopping her in her tracks.
Every instinct within him was suddenly taut and sharp, screaming.
Something was wrong.
They'd known this would be dangerous, he and Emma; they'd known there was chance everything could go wrong, but they'd been left with no other choice. And now here they were, no more than a candlemark into Neverland, and already something was not as it should be.
His sense on alert, from somewhere ahead the tickle of a breeze teased his skin, carrying with it the damp, rich scent of soil and jungle.
The whisper of something – a voice – tugged him forward.
Wrong, this was all wrong.
“Papa, where are you...”
“Quiet,” he bit out, more sharply than he intended, his heart hammering in his chest loudly enough to eclipse the sound of his own breath. “Stay here, Hope.”
“Papa, I can...”
He cut short her argument with a stern look he did not often point in her direction, and though there was the slightest hint of an eye roll – good gods, he missed his wife – she stayed put. Certain his daughter would listen, at least for a short while, he moved forward as if through a dream, following the scent of lush jungle and the occasional pull of something that should not be deep in the caverns of Neverland – a voice. The corridor veered slightly starboard, stealing Hope from his vision, but the scent of fresh air grew stronger, as did his certainty that they were not alone in these shadowed, stony halls.
A dark thought passed through his mind that the voice was nothing more than a trap to lure him away from his daughter, but then the source of the fresh air came into view – a crack no wider than the palm of his hand wound its way down a crease in the cavern wall. From it drifted the scent of cleaner air, and the whisper of people beyond the security of the hidden passage. He pressed himself against it, closing one eye so that the other might adjust to the space beyond. He looked out into a cavernous space, its stone ceiling so far above that a myriad of openings and cracks to the surface cast everything beneath in a diaphanous light.
As his eyes drifted down, another groaning rumble of stone thundered to life, and Killian was torn between watching and fleeing to make sure Hope was safe. His fatherly instinct won out, but before he could turn away, his eyes glanced down at a scene that was sickeningly familiar.
There was no moving from the spot he stood – fear and disbelief warring with panic in his gut.
This was all wrong.
Far across a bottomless pit stood a group of people, each of their faces as familiar as his own. Among them, golden curls and the glint of a silver hook caught the light. His face – younger, with no gray drawn in streaks through black hair, eyes cast pleadingly at the woman who stood across from him, uncertain and disbelieving and carrying the weight of loss on her shoulders.
His eyes fell back to the dark pit that stretched across the space, and sure enough, perched no more than the length of the Jolly's quarter deck away, there rose a plinth of stone, and on it a cage constructed of vines and bamboo, its bars held tight with twine and magic. Now, Killian could see what the tremors and rumbling had been caused by – a great pathway of stone had erupted from the darkness, bridging the distance between the cage and the people waiting in the distance.
Between the man trapped within the bounds of the cage and the woman who was now rushing toward him – Emma, his Emma.
But she wasn't yours here, not yet.
Unease rolled through his stomach as he watched the familiar scene unfold, but this time from the other side, Emma's face clear enough to him in the bright cavern, though she would have no idea that he stood on the other side of the stone wall. How had this happened? His heart hammered in his chest. The portal was supposed to bring them to Neverland only, not through the past – not to this time, when one wrong move could destroy everything they had.
A deep, burning sense of foreboding roared to life in his chest.
Hope – one wrong move and he could lose her, could lose both of them.
He fought the urge to run back to his daughter and sweep her into his arms. He needed to be certain that everything went as it should before him, that their arrival in the portal hadn't somehow changed the course of what was to happen here. He watched as Emma knelt in front of the cage, her voice pulling a longing so deep and primal from his chest that his eyes burned with the heat of it.
Through some trick of the cavernous space, he could hear Emma's voice as easily as if she was standing beside him.
“You okay?”
“Yeah, but Henry,” Neal muttered, the gritty, rumbling tone of a man Killian had known only briefly on equal footing making him shift uncomfortably.
“I...It's okay. We're gonna take care of him. Just need to get you out of there first.”
It was almost surreal seeing her like this, a memory not his own playing before him as he watched through the cavern wall. The words spoken between Emma and Neal were not new to him. There was very little his wife hadn't shared with him over their journey together, but seeing it himself – her sword clanging uselessly against the bars...
“What-- Emma. Emma, Emma. Emma! You know that's not how this works. It's okay. You can tell me anything.”
Heat rose in Killian's eyes as he watched the sword fall limply to her side, knowing it had failed her. She knelt, her fingers wrapped around the cage and her voice lowered. Still, he heard every word.
“When I heard you might be here, and that you might still be alive. I knew I should be happy, but I wasn't. I was terrified. I didn't understand why until now. From the moment I saw you in New York, in the instant you stepped back into my life. I knew. I knew I'd never stopped loving you. And before I even had a chance to take a breath...I...I lost you once more, and all that pain that I had pushed down for all those years, it just came...rushing back, and I...I didn't know if I could go through it again. I love you. I probably always will, but my secret...is that I was hoping that this was a trick. I was hoping you were dead...because it would be easier for me to put you behind me than to face all the pain that we went through all over again.”
Killian's heart broke hearing the words again. He'd heard them before, shared in the quiet of their home, his arms wrapped safely round her, but by then she'd been a different person – open to love and the support that came with it. But in the dark of the cave, she was the Emma he'd known long ago.
Alone, hurt, an orphan.
The strength it must have taken her to say those words to the man kneeling before her, knowing that in admitting a part of her would always love him, she was exposing to the very man that had broken her that he would always hold the ability to do so. He ached to be at her side, to sweep her into his embrace and promise that everything would be okay, more than that – that they'd find their son and bring him home – build a home together – that her heart would heal, that they would heal each other, that she was the best mother he'd ever seen. That he and Henry and Hope were lucky to have her, and she was the light of his world.
But he couldn't. He could only watch as the barrier between Emma and Neal disappeared at her admission, the other man crawling forward and wrapping her in a hug.
Emma's hands wrapped loosely around him, eyes peering through what was left of the cage over his shoulder. There was a moment, her brow knitting together, when her eyes met the dark fissure in the stone behind the cage, and her gaze found his – at least it seemed that way to Killian. He dared not move, all to aware that nothing could change. Nothing could risk their future, but then Neal was rising to his feet and the moment was gone. Emma returned to herself and stood, hurrying back over the bridge toward where her family stood.
Toward him.
Toward the future.
Toward...
“Hope...” he murmured, brushing aside the heaviness of the moment and hurrying back toward where he'd left his daughter.
He'd gone only a few steps when she was suddenly before him, clearly tired of being told to wait and uncertain of what he'd been confronting on his own. She was just like her mother in that way, intent on helping no matter the danger to herself.
“I told you to wait, love,” he sighed, pulling her into his chest and hugging her more forcefully then he'd intended, relenting a bit as she squirmed in his arms and looked up at him.
“What's wrong?” she asked, eyes narrowing. “What was that?”
Killian sighed, resting his chin on top of her head and closing his eyes despite the darkness. He hated lying to her, but neither did he want her to know the truth. She was insatiably curious, his daughter, and she'd insist of seeing for herself.
“It seems there's a cavern on the other side of this wall, and quite a large pit.” There, not a complete lie. “Perhaps some formation of rock fell. There's nothing to harm us, though we should get out of here as quickly as we can.”
“Okay, let's go then. I'm starving, and I want to see the actual jungle,” she sighed, tugging him back down the corridor. “Mom said it was terrible, but at this point I'm just glad there won't be any snow.”
“Aye,” Killian echoed, though his thoughts were far from Storybrooke and the cold winter that meant cups of hot cocoa heaped with marshmallows and whipped cream, and snowball fights in the yard that left them all red-cheeked and breathless.
As Hope tugged him along and the corridor wound its way back toward the main cavern of Echo Caves, Killian's thoughts were far from anything that had to do with Storybrooke and his family at all – instead they were on Neverland, and the bloody demon who would soon find them for reckoning.

Empires SMP Fic
first crack at Empires writing below the cut. I tried to follow the very helpful suggestions of those who replied to my question about writing a few weeks ago (huge thank you to all of you!)
this is only the first part of what i plan to be a longer piece, depending on feedback--so please enjoy and don't hesitate to tell me what you think!!
It had rained for hours now, and still the young man sat, unmoving.
One might have thought him a statue at first glance; forlorn and alone, his head bowed toward the murky shallows of the swamp in which he slumped. The rain had soaked his sandy hair through, and it sagged toward his shoulders under the weight of the water, along with the twigs, moss, and slime scattered throughout the fine strands. His simple garments were equally drenched and slimy, his bare feet awash with greyish mud; dirt-streaked elbows rested on his patched knees, his hands outstretched to shield his face from view.
He had not moved since they came. Since they came, and they took, and they left, carrying that which was most precious to him and vanishing without a trace.
From behind his splayed fingers, a single tear trickled down his cheek, but it was quickly lost in the storm.
-
Jimmy had never much cared for fWhip.
Of course they had plenty of history now to justify his dislike--the Count had blown a ravine in his land, attempted to assassinate his closest ally, and launched explosives across his border, just to name the most recent things he could recall. But even before the narrow-eyed ruler of the Grimlands had made a move against him, there was something about him that the young swamp king knew was amiss. Perhaps it was his smile, just slightly crooked enough to be unsettling; or maybe it was the way his fingers constantly twitched at his belt, as if searching for a weapon. Whatever it was, Jimmy knew that fWhip was not to be trusted, and for the most part, he tried to keep his distance.
Unfortunately, keeping your distance wasn’t as effective when the object of your dislike was following you.
The Count’s unsettling laughter echoed behind him as he cleared the boundary of the deep-violet portal, the bridge between his swamp kingdom and the hellish underland known as the Nether. Though dangerous, the crimson hellscape was rich in mineral resources, which was why the rulers of the above-world so coveted the obsidian-rimmed gateways into its depths. It had taken Jimmy months to gather enough obsidian to construct one, and though obsidian was a hardy ore, he shuddered to think how it might fare against an explosive blast.
He was startled, upon exiting the gateway, to be immediately surrounded by what looked like a massive pile of loose stones, built up haphazardly against the shimmering black frame. Several of the smaller ones were startled free from their stacks by his arrival, and he was forced to dodge aside as they tumbled to the earth, sending up small splashes of mud and making divots in the land where they came to rest. The stones were so plentiful, he could barely make out the green-gold glimmer of the sun through the cracks between them.
“Who--” he began, but a chuckle from behind him cut the words off as he spoke them. He cringed at the familiar sound.
“Do you like your gift?” the Count’s suave voice asked. He sounded absolutely delighted.
Steeling his nerves, Jimmy pivoted to face his adversary.
“Why?” he asked frankly.
fWhip shrugged. “It was fun,” he replied, a gleeful, uneven smile cracking his face. “I didn’t do it alone, if you were wondering.”
“Of course you didn’t. I’m sure Sausage was pleased to help,” Jimmy managed from between clenched teeth. The ruler of Mythland was possibly the only person he despised as much as the man before him.
“Oh, not him. He was busy.” fWhip waved a gloved hand, as if the words were unimportant. “Lady Katherine and Lord Scott were pleased to help me.”
That startled the Codfather, though he did his best not to let it show. Scott’s name surprised him less--the elven lord was fickle on the best of days and had no great love for the swamp kingdom or its ruler. Lady Katherine, though…
“I thought House Blossom was an ally of mine,” he finally replied, trying to maintain a calm tone. “Or, I suppose you could be lying. I wouldn’t put it past you.”
fWhip chuckled again, and Jimmy clenched his teeth just a bit harder as the sound sent a shiver down his spine.
“No lie,” the Count said, rubbing his palms together. “She is an ally of everyone--which is to say, an ally of no one. She delights in mischief, though I am sure that is not something she wishes to be known.” His lip quirked just a little higher, revealing the glint of a sharp white canine tooth. “I know much that others wish was unknown.”
“Is that a threat?” Jimmy retorted, unsure of what to do if it was.
“A statement of fact,” the other man replied with a casual shrug.
Jimmy digested this in silence for a long moment; finally, he narrowed his eyes and regarded his foe. “Fix it.”
fWhip quirked an auburn brow at the command. “I’m sorry?”
“You did this.” Jimmy gestured around him at the piles of rocks. “Fix it.”
“My, my.” This time the Count actually laughed, deep and hearty. “I can’t say I’ve ever heard you stand your ground to my face before.”
Jimmy swallowed hard. “Well, I’m doing it now. Fix. It.” He clenched his fist to hide the trembling in his hands.
fWhip tilted his head, and Jimmy had the creeping sensation that the other man was looking at him the way a spider looks at a fly. He met the Count’s blue-green eyes steadily, even as he felt a bead of sweat trickling down the back of his neck.
Finally, fWhip shrugged again. “Fine. I grow bored with it, anyway.” He gazed off into the distance for a moment, apparently lost in thought; then that unsettling smile returned, and he tapped his nimble fingers on a pouch hanging at his belt. “How would you feel about an expansion to your lands?”
Jimmy eyed him warily, gaze drawn to the strange leather bag. “What do you mean?”
fWhip just laughed quietly, and for the briefest of moments, Jimmy could have sworn he saw his enemy’s eyes gleam scarlet. The Count cocked his head as if listening for something; whatever it was apparently pleased him, for his grin widened and he undid the drawstring of the small bag, reaching a hand in for whatever lay inside.
“No, wait.” Jimmy held up his hands, unable to keep the rising panic from his voice. “What’s in there?” When fWhip did not respond, he raised his volume. “fWhip, what is that--no, don’t--!”
He was unable to prevent the soft whoosh of the match flaring to life; all he could do was throw himself behind the portal frame and hope to whatever gods might be listening that he was far enough away as he clapped his hands over his fin-like ears.
The explosion shook the ground, sending rocks careening from their piles in all directions. Though his ears were plugged, the noise was still deafening, and Jimmy felt that he could feel the vibration through his muscles and bones and blood, all the way to his very soul. He bowed his head toward the muddy earth and closed his eyes, waiting for the moment when a rock would land on him and crush him beneath its weight. Thankfully, the obsidian frame held, and while several pebbles nicked the swamp king’s slimy skin, the larger rocks simply ricocheted off the obsidian and landed in the neighboring muck with loud slurps.
The silence that followed was deafening. Ears ringing from the blast, Jimmy finally allowed himself to open his eyes and take in the devastation.
A sizeable crater had formed where fWhip had dropped his explosive, mud flung away from the hole to reveal even waterier soil beneath, glinting with a soft sheen in the now-bright sunlight. It was nowhere near the scale of the ravine the man’s explosives had previously created, but the sheer immediacy of the destruction was enough to tie a hard knot in Jimmy’s gut.
“What have you done?” he croaked, his voice seeming muffled to his still-damaged hearing.
“I fixed it,” fWhip replied.

Understanding Heat Trace Cable: Essential for Efficient Temperature Control
Heat trace cables are crucial components in various industrial and commercial applications where maintaining consistent temperatures is essential. Whether it's for freeze protection, process temperature maintenance, or frost heave prevention, heat trace cables provide reliable solutions for temperature control and management.
What is a Heat Trace Cable?
A heat trace cable, also known as a heating cable or trace heating, is an electrical cable designed to produce heat. It is typically used to maintain or raise the temperature of pipes, vessels, and other equipment. Heat trace cables are essential in preventing freezing in pipes, ensuring safe and efficient operation in various industrial processes.
Types of Heat Trace Cables
There are several types of heat trace cables, each suited for specific applications:
Self-Regulating Heat Trace Cable: This type of cable automatically adjusts its heat output based on the surrounding temperature. As the ambient temperature drops, the cable increases its heat output, and as the temperature rises, it decreases the output. This self-regulating feature makes it energy-efficient and safe for use in a wide range of applications.
Constant Wattage Heat Trace Cable: Unlike self-regulating cables, constant wattage cables provide a fixed amount of heat regardless of the ambient temperature. These are ideal for applications where a consistent level of heat is required.
Mineral Insulated Heat Trace Cable: Known for its durability and high-temperature capability, mineral insulated cables are used in extreme environments. They consist of a metal sheath and mineral insulation, making them suitable for high-temperature applications and hazardous areas.
Applications of Heat Trace Cables
Heat trace cables are used in various industries, including:
Oil and Gas: Preventing pipes from freezing in cold environments and maintaining the temperature of pipelines to ensure smooth flow of materials.
Chemical Processing: Maintaining process temperatures to ensure the proper chemical reactions and preventing the solidification of liquids in pipes.
Food and Beverage: Ensuring consistent temperatures in production processes and preventing freezing in supply lines.
Water Treatment: Protecting pipes and equipment from freezing in treatment plants, ensuring continuous operation.
Benefits of Using Heat Trace Cables
Freeze Protection: Prevents freezing and bursting of pipes in cold climates, reducing maintenance and repair costs.
Temperature Maintenance: Ensures consistent process temperatures, enhancing operational efficiency and product quality.
Energy Efficiency: Self-regulating cables adjust heat output based on the ambient temperature, optimizing energy usage.
Safety: Reduces the risk of accidents caused by frozen or overheated pipes and equipment.
Choosing the Right Heat Trace Cable
Selecting the appropriate heat trace cable depends on various factors, including the application, temperature requirements, and environmental conditions. Consulting with experts and manufacturers can help determine the best solution for your specific needs.
Conclusion
Heat trace cables are vital for maintaining and controlling temperatures in numerous industrial and commercial applications. By preventing freezing, maintaining process temperatures, and ensuring operational efficiency, these cables play a critical role in a wide range of industries. Whether you need freeze protection or consistent temperature maintenance, heat trace cables offer reliable and efficient solutions.

Different Crystal Spell Work
Crystal Elixirs
Crystal elixirs, or sometimes referred to as essences, are made by infusing water with the vibrations of a particular crystal or stone. They are used for physical, emotional and spiritual healing as well as magic. The most common way of using them is by drinking the water, but they can also be used topically on the skin or added to bathwater.
WARNING & TAKE CAUTION: Some crystals and stones are highly toxic and should never be used in elixirs. Amazonite, azurite, cinnabar, emerald, malachite and pyrite are just a few examples of minerals containing toxins that can leach into water. There are other stones that will begin to dissolve in water, such as selenite and kunzite. Rule of thumb; names ending in ‘ite’ are problematic when they come into contact with water.
If you are considering substitutions for the elixir spells, or branching out to create your own, this is not the time to simply “go with your gut”. It’s very important to do a thorough research on any stone you’re considering for use in an elixir. It’s also recommended to use polished stones rather than raw, since there is even less likelihood of any unwanted mineral traces leaching into the water.
Simple Elixirs
Below are some instructions for creating a simple elixir to be used within a day or two. For longer-lasting elixirs, you’ll need to use a preservative - brandy, vodka or distilled vinegar for you young’uns. The advantage of taking this extra step is that you can use the elixir multiple times over an extended period of time, just a few drops will usually suit most purposes.
For the sake of keeping it simple, I will not be including this step. But if you are intent on this, ask me how privately!
Note: There are methods for charging water with toxic stones that don’t involve placing the stone directly in the water. However, for safety’s sake, we will not be going over those at this time.
Spring water or purified water - tap water is okay in a pinch but it’s best to at least use a Brita or other type of filter if possible.
Clear glass bowl - a drinking class is an appropriate substitute.
Clear lid or plastic wrap.
A crystal or stone (nontoxic) of your choice.
3-5 quartz crystals (optional - these amplify your intentions!)
Place the cleared and charged stone in the bowl, focusing on your intention for the elixir. Slowly pour the water over the stone, using at least enough water to make one class but not much more than that.
Allow the crystal’s vibrations to charge the water. This could take a couple of hours or it could be overnight, depending on your preference. Many witches like to use sunlight for a couple of hours. This doesn’t work on cloudy days, however, and isn’t recommended for stones that fade in sunlight such as colored quartz and fluorite. Moonlight is a great alternative, provided it’s clear skies and the moonlight shines directly onto the stone for a couple of hours.
In addition, you can use quartz crystals placed around the elixir to strengthen the vibrational quality of the water, but this is entirely up to you.
It is also possible to leave the elixir indoors overnight, either covered or in the fridge. The stone will release its vibrations into the water regardless of where it’s sitting. It’s just nice to have the enhancement of natural light.
If neither sunlight or moonlight is possible, don’t let that stop you! And if you can use quartz around the elixir, this can definitely raise the quality!
Once charged, pour the water into a drinking glass or a jar - not made by metal or plastic if possible - and catch the stone in your hand before it falls into the new container.
Thank the stone for its energy and its presence in your life. You can repurpose the stone and charge it for other intentions!
Your elixir is good for 24 hours.
Crystal Bath Spells
If the elixir does not work for you, then using crystals in a bath is just as good of a way to create an energy adjust for the mind, body and soul! Similar to the elixirs, the vibrations of the crystals infuses the water with their balancing energies. Clear quartz and rose quartz are safe, popular stones to use this way.
Remember to research other crystals if you are wanting to experiment. Some stones will dissolve and others may be toxic for the skin. Be sure to rinse and recharge stones after using them in the bath!
Crystal & Candle Spells
Crystals and candles make great partners in magic, symbolizing the elements of earth and fire, as well as the stones representing their own elements! This type of crystal magic allows for more flexibility when it comes to creating your own variations, as you can use any kind of stone you like without worrying about toxicity or water damage.
You will need:
4 of your chosen crystals
1 candle representing your intentions.
Arrange the crystals in a circle around the candle.
Touch each one with your power hand and directly charge it for the purposes you are seeking to manifest. Remember your affirmations! Say along the lines of: “I now charge this crystal with the power to connect to ______” Insert your intentions.
After charging each crystal, close your eyes and visualize how you will feel when there are no concerns to trouble you. Really feel the emotions and embrace them, remember how it feels knowing that your shoulders bear no more burdens regarding your intentions. You can say, “I manifest ______ in my daily life, having all that I need and more.”
Leave the crystals in place until the candle burns out on it’s own.
Crystal & Herb Spells - my favorite.
Joining crystals with herbs in spellwork is a great way to amplify the power of each of these Earth-given magical tools. We will go over spell jars later, but these come into play. You can combine your stones or crystals with any herbs you are needing to use that will help with your intentions, whether it’s love, finances, career, etc.
Buried Crystal Spells
These spells use the power of the Earth even more directly by returning the crystals to their source. Raw stones are ideal for this type of work since there are no traces of chemical additives between the surface of the stone and the soil, but you can use polished stones as well! The strength of your focused intention is more important than the stone and whether it’s polished or raw.
Simply charge the crystal with your intention and, making sure this crystal is one you can part with, take the stone to a location far from your home. Somewhere you rarely find yourself in. It could be a park, across town or a wooded/otherwise rural area. Bury the stone in the earth. Then walk away without looking back.
Calling a Crystal into Your Life
If you are finding yourself in a position that you are unable to get any crystals or stones, or feeling as if you’d like to bring more into your life, ask the Universe directly. The Universe will then help you connect to the stone that was meant for you!
Here is a good spell to work prior to making online orders for crystals.
You will need.
1 white candle.
Sea salt (the crystalline structure of sea salt adds a magical boost to your intention)
Sprinkle the salt in a circle around the candle while saying: “With this sacred salt of Earth, I ask the right crystal to come into my life.”
Close your eyes and visualize yourself surrounded by beautiful, sparkling crystals of every color. Take a few deep breaths and then light the candle while saying: “It is so. Blessed be.”
Final Thought
This really is just a few things you can do with crystals to help enhance your magic, or intentions. As you grow within your craft, you’ll learn new things, read new books and come up with your own spells. This is a beautiful thing! You will do things intuitively. Trust your intuition, do your research and really enjoy spells!
