talking to friends about The Horrors, specifically the Trumpian Horrors, and, like
the more I consider it, the more I think that the best thing we outside the US can do - for ourselves, for the world, and for America as well - is to just holler to the fucking rooftops that AMERICA IS NOT THE WORLD.
By which I mean:
we do not let politicians, media, and our own social circles convince us that American issues are the only issues worth discussing;
we challenge politicians, media, and our own social circles on the politics of appeasement;
we challenge ourselves on the assumption that laws passed in the US affect us directly, and we do not place ourselves in American shoes;
we focus on our own shit. Not because it's more important, but because we need to remember that it still exists. Our eyes cannot be on the USA while the legislative and political rights in our own countries are eroded from under us.
we look to the rest of the world. We get used to viewing people who don't look like us, talk like us, or even like us as an equal and crucial part of the political landscape.
WE ARE LOUD ABOUT THIS. In politics, in activism, in social contexts, in our own assessment of our own politics, we remember and hold up that America is NOT the centre of the world, and that American hegemony is NOT inevitable.
This is not because I'm trying to undermine American struggles. This is because the Trump administration is strengthened and bolstered by every other country that chooses to suck the cock of American supremacy in the desperate attempt to maintain the last remnants of the old imperial order.
It is up to everyone in the world to challenge that, and to say: yeah, this fucking sucks, and we want America to be better, but we don't need America.
There are other markets. There are other allies and potential allies. There are other global powers (Personally I think we should try to dismantle global powers entirely, but, you know, one battle at a time) and there are other political shifts.
So much of the current rightward swing in the UK, at least, is directly modelled on MAGA to the point that it's the same movement, to the point where the branches of that movement feed power and influence to one another. You know what has consistently been one of the more successful tactics? Fucking reminding people that they are not, in fact, offering solutions to the problems Britain faces, because these are American solutions and we are not America.
idk it feels stupid to say this. it feels stupid to have to point out that Not Everywhere Is America, and it feels even stupider to think that this is something that needs pointing out to the systems of power. But the more I think about it, the surer I am that one of the tentpoles of American power, and therefore of Trump's power (in the US as well as beyond it!) is just... the willingness of so much of the world to say: yeah, sure, everything is America.
WE ARE NOT AMERICA.
AMERICA DOES NOT HAVE TO CONTROL US.
idk. maybe it won't change shit. but maybe yelling that at international power structures loudly enough - making noise about issues that are not American, focusing our efforts outside America, challenging American supremacy on the global stage - is, in fact, the most useful thing we can do.
#and this is NOT a call to ignore the dangers of an expansionist right-wing autocracy#this is a call to note them. watch them. and then talk about other things.#not even “never talk about the usa” but... like. challenge yourself. ask WHY the usa is always the first country to come up.#it's a fine line to draw bc like... ignoring problems does not make them go away#but nor does lavishing 100% of your attention on things outside your sphere of control#trump and his government act with impunity in part because the WORLD political establishment so frequently treats them as gods#because we (uk specifically other global north countries generally) are SO LOCKED IN to the hierarchy#we don't even necessarily see it! it's just a fact of political discourse that America Is The Great World Power#but that can and should be challenged. because: why tho?#but as long as the gop know they can browbeat the eu and un and nato into literally fucking anything#they will continue to act with impunity#but tbqh it is sound and fury signifying nothing! what are you gonna do? invade every country in the world?#national power is a story. that's all it ever is. it's a narrative that grows and strengthens through belief.#and unfortunately we cannot just stop believing in it. but we can challenge that belief. and i think we have to.#we have to look american crises dead in the face and say “yeah ok that's shit. and what else?”#idk i'm open to debate/argument on this (to a point) but this has moved from a personal gripe to#i actually think this is the best thing we can do communally?#...also when we accept american supremacy we also take on the exhaustion of american subjects#and then we lose all ability to provide support and perspective for those who are directly in the firing line#important imo to focus on sympathising with not identifying with#solidarity does NOT mean homogeneity. being conscious of our place outside the regime is also an important thing.#accept the limitations on what we can do to change it#but also accept that we are not the subjects of legislation or policy.#and most of all that we are not MORE beholden to solidarity with americans than with palestinians or sudanese or congolese or anyone else#idk it's 4am i'm probably not making much sense#but i feel Very Strongly

So--long story short, a FedEx driver killed a rattlesnake that happened to be on someone's porch, not causing any immediate problems. This is an all too common practice here in the United States, where a significant portion of the population has the backwards idea that "the only good snake is a dead snake" and that the only way to deal with a venomous snake in the proximity of a house, or people in general, is to kill it. Never mind that snakes tend to move on if left alone, and that there are numerous entities that can be contacted to move the snake safely to another place if so desired, and that most bites occur when someone is harassing, handling, or trying to kill the snake.
Dr. Emily Taylor of California Polytechnic State University (@snakeymama on Twitter) has requested that people contact FedEx about their recent commercial glorifying the killing of the snake, which you can view here. I've included both her and my letters to the appropriate folks at FedEx. There are options for both email and snail mail correspondence, and the more people FedEx hears from about this appalling matter, the better.
It's 2024, almost 2025. We have tons of information on rattlesnake behavior and best practices in coexisting with them (to include training your dogs in snake avoidance). We know plenty about the importance they have in local ecosystems, and the devastation that has been done through people slaughtering them, sometimes in the thousands (I wrote about the ongoing problem of rattlesnake roundups and their inherent cruelty here.) There are multiple rattlesnake species that are endangered or otherwise threatened with extinction.
The vast majority of encounters with venomous snakes are benign, and the vast majority of bites come from someone (person, dog, etc.) confronting the snake that was just trying to defend itself. We've spent a lot of time in this country defaulting to killing anything that inconveniences us, but there are better ways to live safely in proximity to wildlife that don't involve violence. It just takes a little more effort and awareness, and most importantly a significant attitude change that no longer vilifies native wildlife simply trying to live their lives.
As Dr. Taylor mentioned, if you want to contact FedEx, here are your options:
"You can help by reposting this or by emailing to express your concern about the commercial: [email protected] and to the CEO at [email protected]. Or send letters to: Fred Smith, CEO Brie Carere, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Ryan Kelly, Vice President of Marketing FedEx Corporation 942 South Shady Grove Road Memphis, TN 38120 USA"

I've been seeing a lot of Discourse around outdoor cats that talks past one of the biggest problems addressing community cats/outdoor working cats so I thought I'd chime in with my two cents.
Many arguments I see just... don't think about the cats at all? Or don't consider the logistics of actually addressing the feral cat problem in a humane way. It's always about how outdoor cats shouldn't be outdoors, which is neither realistic nor helpful.
I used to volunteer at an municipal animal shelter in the USA that had a TNR program (Trap, Neuter, Return) and also adopted out community cats to local farms and businesses. Here's my side of the story.
"Your cat doesn't need to be outside" -- Yes, correct. Your domesticated (non-feral) house cat does not need to go outside at all. They can have a fully actualized life safely indoors. When I see this argument, proponents of indoor only cats are correct in most or all their arguments regarding this.
"Outdoor cats are the largest invasive species in the world, and decimate bird populations." -- This is also correct, and part of the reason why you can help by bringing your house cat indoors. Cats are the largest invasive species. Spay and Neuter your cats, bring them inside, and socialize them so they don't become feral.
"TNR doesn't work." -- False. Whether we like it or not, feral cats exist. We have two methods by which we can address the feral cat population -- decimating them (humanely euthanizing the whole colony) or TNR. For a long time, euthanasia was the preferred way to address the feral cat problem. Afterall, if the cats aren't there, doesn't that save the local wildlife population?
Except that we found, studying these colonies, that when a colony is wiped out, the cats of another colony will spread into their territory and continue to have kittens and the population of feral cats is neither controlled nor diminished.
Hence, TNR. What we found performing TNR on cat colonies was that this controlled the population of the colonies, allowing them to stay in their territory, which kept other colonies from spreading (especially colonies we hadn't performed TNR on yet). We at the shelter felt this was the most humane way to control the feral cat population and safely deflate their existence without dealing with the population blooms that euthanasia caused.
"What about kittens?" -- Kittens from these colonies were brought into the shelter, socialized, and fostered out until they could be adopted. Some of these semi-feral kittens needed special homes to be adopted into, but this was the best quality of life for these cats.
"What about cats that get missed during TNR?" -- We would return to the colony several times over a period of several years to perform TNR on the same colony. We mark cats that have been neutered by clipping their ear (this is done humanely, but is the most reliable way to tell if a cat has been neutered so the poor thing doesn't have to have surgery 3-4 times in their life). Also, during the TNR process the cats would be vaccinated to ensure disease did not spread from the colony (i.e. rabies). Still, even getting 60% of the colony TNR'd would dramatically reduce the number of kittens being added to the colony each year. This controlled the population by allowing the territory to naturally deflate in size over time, buying us time to address the larger feral cat problem.
"What if the colony was in an unsafe location?" -- There were two ways we addressed unsafe colony locations -- remember, we know that when the colony is removed, a new colony will move into its place, so we tried not to move the colony unless we really felt the cats or the public was unsafe -- one was to move the whole colony to a new location. Preferably someplace like a warehouse where we have an agreement with the owners of the warehouse. Some of the cats were even relocated to shelter grounds as our community cats. If the colony was small enough we would bring them into our Feral Cats room and adopt them out as community cats.
"What is a community cat?" -- The way the program worked, was that anyone who needed a working cat could apply to the program. These were often rural farmers or businesses with warehouses that needed rodent protection. We trained the farmers and businesses on how to acclimatize the cats to their new home, and as part of the agreement, they had to care for the cats (veterinary care, vaccinations, food and water). This gave businesses and farms an alternative to expensive and environmentally unfriendly rodent control, and also gave these feral cats good places to live out their natural lives.
"Can't you just adopt out feral cats?" -- No. Cats that have not been socialized around humans as kittens, or who have several generations of feral cat in them could not interact with humans in a way that did not cause them undue stress. This was not a humane way to handle feral cats. However, when a cat was brought into the feral cat room, they would be monitored for up to a week. If the cat displayed signs of being semi-social or fully social (hanging out outside of their den, allowing staff to pet them, showing interest in staff in the room), then we would either move the cat into the adoption room or place them in foster to be socialized before adoption. Feral cats who displayed signs of being able to live full and healthy lives with human companions were NOT adopted out as community cats. We also observed this behavior during TNRs and would do the same for those cats too.
"But aren't cats bad hunters?" -- Compared to other species, cats are not the most effective form of rodent control. This is true. However, you have to understand that feral cats exist. There is no "undo" button we can push to stop them from existing. We have to deal with the problem we have right now, which is to safely and humanely decrease the number of feral cats in our communities. And yes, we do that by using cats as rodent control in the community.
"What can I do?" -- Stop saying community cats shouldn't exist. That's not helpful and doesn't solve the problem we have. Bring your cat indoors. Spay and neuter your cats. Adopt from shelters. Volunteer with a TNR team. Support TNR efforts in your community. Recognize that those of us actively dealing with the community/feral problem are trying to do what is in the best interest of our communities and the animals we love. We aren't sitting over here saying these cats should exist -- a feral cat will not have the same quality of life as one that is indoors with a family -- but we have to address the problem in practical terms. We don't have the moral high ground to just do nothing while pontificating solutions that have no basis in actuality.
And yes, it's okay to celebrate community cats. If your local farm has a couple of working cats, that means that farm is helping participate in the safe deflation of the feral cat population. Don't shame a farm or business for using community cats. We're all doing the best we can to solve the problem that we have.

paige x olympian gymnast hcs!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
‣ paige bueckers x olympic gymnast reader!
‣‣ synopsis: gymnastics has always been your entire life, and your dedication truly paid off when you made team usa for the 2016 rio olympics, but what happens after your injury while in the running for the 2020 tokyo olympics? #uneditedfornow
‣‣‣ a/n: just a few headcannons i have in mind for this story, if i were to make this a full blown series it MIGHT be a wattpad story with an oc or just a full tumblr series because of how long it would be... 👀
Tumblr media
your life leading up to and including the 2016 rio olympics:
you've been doing gymnastics since you were three years old
at the age of thirteen your parents switched you to online school so you could train full time, but during this process it set you back a year, making your graduation year 2020 (same as Paige)
at the age of just fifteen you qualified for the rio olympics (meaning you were born in 2001)
your roommate that year was simone biles, and you competed at the olympics, taking home two golds (all around team and beam) and one silver (beam).
following the olympics, you became very popular for your skill at such a young age, leading you to signing many brand deals, sponsorships, photoshoots, etc.
it just so happens that your popularity reaches a certain basketball player, miss paige bueckers. in her slam interview in 2019, when asked about an athlete she admires outside of basketball, she says you. you have no idea who she is, but dm her regardless thanking her for her kind words. this is the only interaction you two have until uconn.
you continued online school for the rest of highschool, and throughout the next three years you received thirty recruitment offers out of the sixty-two schools that had a women's college gymnastics team.
your dream school had always been the University of Connecticut, but their gymnastics team didn't impress you throughout the recruitment process.
your graduation year is 2020, which happens to be the same year you got injured, right before choosing a college to commit to.
injury-related; 2020-2021:
in february of 2020, you got into a car crash while driving home from a late night practice.
you tore your left acl, dislocated your right shoulder, fractured your left collarbone, had a concussion, and suffered a left femoral fracture (ouchies i know)
thankfully you were mostly okay, but the accident completely put you out of the running for the 2020 (now moved to 2021 due to the pandemic) olympics, and doctors told you it would take at least two years to fully rehabilitate before you could even beginning training for competitions again.
your left leg had quite a few complications with the acl tear and the femoral fracture, and you had four surgeries in total on the leg.
during this time, you decided that since you couldn't compete in gymnastics, you might as well commit to the college of your student-life dreams, the university of connecticut.
UConn Era!!:
you commit to uconn for your undergrad in the sports management program, since you couldn't compete, you still wanted to remain in the athletic world.
your freshman year classes (2020-2021) was fully online due to your injuries and the pandemic, but it just so happens that you're placed as an intern with the women's basketball team for your sports management program.
you meet the team before the school year starts, and it just so happens that paige bueckers has remained a huge fan of yours.
the only reason the team recognized you immediately before you were even introduced is because of how much she has fangirled over you
you get your own apartment at uconn due to the program and your status (okay olympic privilege), which meant the team loved to hang out at your giant, well-furnished place.
you become extremely close with the team, and your first two years of rehabilitation seem to go well. it also happens that in your sophomore year, your best friend paige also fractures her meniscus, so the two of you are the resident cripples of the team!
paige has always had a huge fangirl crush on you, but over the years of you being friends, it seems those feelings develop into a little bit more...
one night while you were having a sleepover with her during her acl recovery she confesses, and the two of you start dating on the very down low
during your junior year is also when you are fully cleared to start re-training and you start getting back into gymnastics with a new coach (idk who yet!)
while balancing school and your duties with the wbb team, you start to train only four days a week, slowly getting back old skills on all four events.
you start competing in the 2023-24 season (i believe that’s how it’s measured?) and qualify for the 2024 olympics at the 2024 Xfinity U.S Gymnastics Championship
it’s safe to say your girlfriend and the entire wbb team were your biggest supporters apart from your family
Actual Olympics:
i can see you being roommates with Hezley Rivera, since she reminds you so much of yourself and you’re able to form a connection because of that.
Paige is unfortunately not able to make it to the first half of the Olympics, but she is your biggest supporter from home, constantly posting and hyping you up.
While competing, you definitely wear jewelry that she gifted you for good luck, and your hair has two braids going up into your bun, just to keep a piece of your girl close to you. Maybe even a purple ribbon braided into your hair at some point?
You also definitely took half of her closet of hoodies with you so that you could wear them and have her scent with you at night
the entire uconn wbb team, both current and players from your earlier college years, show support for you on social media, but paige’s is a little.. different than theirs
while all the girls post you on their stories or tweeting about you as, so proud of our husky 💙🐺, that’s my our uconn girly!!, etc. Paige’s are a little more special, hinting at your relationship, ex: so proud of my girl 🫶🫶
there were rumors about you and paige circulating since your freshman year, but you never bothered addressing them, and this only fueled them further.
You definitely text Paige as much as possible during meal times, facetiming at night, sending selfies all the time, etc.
The other girls definitely make fun of you if they overhear you on the phone with her, mocking you since you call each other baby as a term of endearment. They also make a tiktok cut together of a bunch of clips, basically every single time you were texting or atp with paige. the tiktok has over 50 clips!
“can you pass me that y/n?” suni asked you
“yea sure, here” you passed her the makeup brush
“thanks, baby,” she teased, making you blush
After the olympic athlete who ran straight to his girlfriend after breaking the Olympic record, I can definitely see Paige flying out to surprise you for a week or so in Paris.
Her flying out to come visit is when you guys actually hard launch, posting pictures of you at dinner with the captions, “my girl is finally here” or “yk i had to come cheer my girl on in person”
Tumblr media
a/n: this is #uneditedfornow but that’s all i have for now yall! idk when i’m gonna make this a series but i have so many ideas for it i just might have to, but i also have two other unfinished series rn so… 😓😓

Caitlin clark and a feminine reader who's her gay awakening. She and the reader are like really good friends at first, and then it slowly turns into something more. Maybe she gets jealous when she sees you hang out with another player like paige or Kate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You've got it badddd"- Caitlin Clark
3rd person P.O.V
Don't get me wrong, you and Caitlin had always been close- even when you decided that staying in Iowa wasn't the choice for you. While you had no open regrets you missed the late night conversations with Cait, often talking about how you wanted your hair done next- or maybe which pair of jeans would go best with the new shoes you had ordered.
Being friends with someone who was so comfortable, and open with their femininity was something new to caitlin- almost scary. She was so used to the girls on her team not putting in effort to match the accent of their tees to their new shoes, or waking up an extra hour early to do their makeup because "it made them feel pretty" (you were always pretty to her, especially when you were focused on making a shot- oh and no doubt when you let out a snort from laughing too hard, ultimately causing you to laugh even harder from the embarrassment.)
So, why exactly did it take Caitlin until her junior year of COLLEGE- and subsequently the year you decided that maybe switching your Uconn to be closer to your older (adoptive) sister would be best for you to admit to herself that maybe (definitely) she likes you more than a friend? Why did it take her until the same pink luggage you had arrived with almost two years ago had been packed- and placed neatly in the white car with pink interior that she knew all too well for her to finally gain the courage to admit the feelings she had felt for you for years?
The same feelings that made her want to play a little too hard at the USA basketball tournament- even though she didn't know exactly who you were. That didn't matter though, you stood out like a sore thumb- a small red skirt, crisp white tee with words that read along the lines of "written by lana del something" adorn with red lettering- with makeup soft, and light giving you an almost angelic look.
Don't get even get me started on how unfocused she was that entire game- staring at the shot clock, and then you, and then the clock again. Fumbling the ball- and forgetting to use her pivot when she got a rebound. These little things caused to her ultimately get benched, finding her spot next to Paige as Hailey subbed her out for that quarter- she and Paige talked, about nothing too serious until Caitlin mentioned being distracted by not her nerves.. but by someone sitting in the stands with a ridiculously large ipad.
"No fucking way Caitlin" Paige said a little too loud for the girls liking as she shushed her out of fear of the coaches hearing.
"What? I'm just saying she's really pretty- and from the way she's been at all of the games this week I think she may be one of the girls sister or something" Caitlin said completely oblivious to the fact that the girl she had been almost studying for a week was Paige's younger sister- the same girl who she would spend the next 3 1/2 years yearning after too scared to make the first move.
"Caitlin" the Blonde said- dropping her voice an octave and sitting up straight. "That's my fucking sister you dimwit" she said lightly shoving the now pale girl sitting beside her as she laughed at the expression on the girls face.
"Oh my gosh- I.. I-I'm so sorry, I take all of that back" The brunette began to ramble scared by the sudden change of atmosphere. Not paying the panicking girl any attention Paige began to laugh as the entire situation was nothing short of hilarious to her- and honestly she started shed a few tears before her attention was called back to the game as she was subbed in.
This experience was one of many that occurred until you and Caitlin finally crossed paths in college. It was no secret that you had many offers from many different schools, and that ultimately when you committed to Iowa that there was bound to be a bit of sibling rivalry as both of you were very competitive. It was alsooo noted how much time you spent with the girls on the team with you- now don't get me wrong Caitlin couldn't exactly be jealous when you and Molly Davis began to hang out with one another outside of practice. But something in her snapped when you sad been elbowed in the face by an opponent while getting a rebound, and as she rushed to make sure you were okay the girl nudged her slightly backwards as she helped you up herself l- glaring at Caitlin on the court seemingly forgetting that there were cameras everywhere.
Fast forward to now. She had spent months upset with you- leaving you confused and ultimately hurt as you spent time attempting to figure out what exactly you did wrong. Was it the overwhelmingly positive attitude? The almost sickening pink bedroom decor (you had offered to tone your side of the room down too many times to count. ) Maybe it was the idea of you getting too close to molly, and then when you had sprung the news of you transferring to Uconn as a last resort to getting more playing time- and being able to showcase your talent like promised.
Whatever the reason was, it had Caitlin Clark avoiding you like the plague for months, ignoring the small talk you made when she was in your shared dorm- if she was even there. She began to spend the night with Kate as she had no roommate, and if she wasn't with Kate she was simply out all night.. and who were you to judge her- she was constantly put under stress to play her best, practice like it was a game, and most importantly to not let herself get too involved with anything relationship related.
That last reason alone was why she found herself with a ridiculously heavy, pink gift basket in hand as she marched towards the white car- just as nervous as the USA youth tournament that ultimately changed her life. She spent about a week writing the letter confessing her feelings- and with the help of Molly (ironic right ..) she picked out things that she knew you would not only like, but that help some form of value to you.
"Y/N/N" The girl yelled half heartedly- more sad about your departure, than nervous about giving you the note.
"Hey Caity" You said back with a bright smile- a smile that matched your bubbly voice. Caitlin would never understand why you couldn't hold grudges, even after icing you out for months- ignoring every attempt you gave to communicate, and borderline moving out you still had the heart to forgive her- and sometimes she wondered why it was so easy for you to forgive.
As you close the trunk of the SUV, you walked towards the nervous girl- taking the gift from her hands and giving her a tight hug around the neck, as her hands find their place along your waistline. The two of you stayed like that for a while until she pulled away to get a good look at your face. Caitlin could tell you really didn't want to leave Iowa, but your sister needing support as she was injured, and if you wanted any shot at potentially getting drafted you needed to have more playing time- more time to show how much you've grown as a player, more time to show who you were- to make a name for YOURSELF. These things combined together left you with no choice but to transfer, and why not transfer to a school where your sister already resided with her girlfriend? Why not transfer to a team full of love, and support with multiple great coaches?
Transferring was the best option for you, and Caitlin tried to understand that. Even if it meant potentially losing you, but deep down something inside of her told her that the distance would only bring the two of you closer- it would only feed the growing feeling from both parties, that it would only heal the wound that had opened as a consequence of pushing one another away. As you pulled away from the girl completely- you stared at the basket full of goodies.
"Oh Cait- You didn't have to get me anything"- You said tearing up, it was a thought out gift that obviously took some planning- and the price didn't matter to you as it was something that she had taken time to put together for you. "No, No I wanted to Y/N/N" she girl said with a bright smile "I wrote you a letter that I think you should really read"
As you carefully pull the letter out of its envelope, your eyes skim over the beautifully written piece of card stock- pink ink neatly written on the thick piece of paper as your begin to smile ear to ear. With no other words you drop the letter into the baby pink basket- leaning up and kissed the taller girl passionately, and as you pulled away breathless you began to mutter something along the lines of "Actually the shirt said written by Lana Del Rey" giggling as you began to think back to the day you set your eyes on the girl.
A/N-I'm sorry about being inactive everyone! i have band camp soooo i've been super busy and will be for the next few weeks! Also, im getting to my request/drafs bear with me 🙏🏾. ALSO please ignore my grammar issues, i didnt proof read it all the way- and im also playing around with the plot ngl. butttt i love you guys! and thank you for 120 followers! 💕❤️

A lot of the anti-Zionist crowd reminds me of the Che shirt kids from high school and undergrad.
You know the ones I'm talking about.
In high school they'd talk about how the "system was evil" while purposefully being disruptive in class, would barely pay attention or pass a class cause the material was all "propaganda", and would wax philosophic about their teenage comprehension of Communism and its associated leaders. Any history class would eventually end up with them arguing with your teacher. Yes, they would have some good points, but at the same time their understanding of the material would be juvenile at best.
In college they'd get worse. Some of them might continue wearing the shirts and paraphernalia, but others would go all out and start wearing the black beret and/or associated dress of Che and other leaders. They now have a college vocabulary and use it to drive every discussion towards their political ideology. Almost nothing exists outside of their political framework and talking to them is exhausting.
They're also not seen as a disruption anymore, but more as that annoying Tankie who has to go "um, actually" and then go on a monologue about the CIA in class. Professors will either let them do this or tell them that it's not the time or place and that they have to teach. The former gives a small sense of triumph as they "subvert the system" (and we do this because if we don't you become more annoying), the latter causes them to grumble and complain about being "silenced".
Yes, we're aware of the CIA's actions. Yes, Che had some very good points about the role of neo-imperialism in the Global South. Yes, the USA has done some absolutely horrid shit. But what makes everyone keep these people at arms length and/or ignore them is the refusal to acknowledge the atrocities that the man on the shirt did. It's the black and white juvenile reasoning that colors everything they talk about and putting him and other leaders on a pedestal.
If you talk to anyone in the Cuban diaspora they, their family, or someone they know within the community will refer to Che as a butcher. They will tell you about the absolutely horrific things he did as a leader. They will tell you about how this man that young adults are idolizing would imprison and execute them for any number of things that they enjoy simply because he objected to them. The same thing goes for anyone who has family members that survived the USSR or any other 20th century authoritarian country that called itself Communist.
It's the refusal to acknowledge that the world exists in shades of nuance. It's the refusal to acknowledge that these authoritarian Communist governments would imprison, exile, and/or execute all of them and their friends for being queer, speaking out, their writing, their taste in music, their manner of dress, etc, etc... That countries, governments, leaders, ideologies, and people are multifaceted and not this idealized fantasy that can be argued for with whataboutisms.
We see this same behavior in the current batch of anti-Zionists. Some of them are the newest cohort of Tankies who are just repeating the same behaviors we've seen time and time again. However, in this current situation we all have access to information and are able to address things for what they are. The disruptive misinformation isn't as tolerated any more because Che shirt kids are no longer just marching around on the college green in their Communist LARP gear, but are instead coopting a war and its suffering for their Glorious Revolution accelerationist rhetoric.
The adherence and defense of Cold War era tactics, the almost rabid want to implement them, the use of whataboutism to defend your blorbo and the refusal to acknowledge their atrocities, plus the additional antisemitic laden screeds, all the while the world is attempting to move forward from this is downright regressive and juvenile.
And keep in mind, I'm an old alt kid. I've been part of counter culture for decades now. I have patches older than most of these college Tankies. I remember the Che shirt kids and how we stayed away from them because they often spouted rhetoric that was both fantastical and extremely violent. If you're unaware, Che himself believed that to achieve the socialist utopia that extreme violent revolution was necessary (sound familiar?). Not mentioning the fact that often this process gets stuck at the authoritarian step after the violent revolution.
Meanwhile, we just wanted to be accepted for wearing all black, chains, and just being "creepy". We weren't actually violent as most suburban moms believed. So we often stayed away from people who actually believed in violent rhetoric. Not only would it not look good for the alt community, but it was simply antithetical to what we believed. We wanted to be accepted in society and help improve it, not burn it down (and look where we are now, everyone wants a goth mommy. Mission achieved).
The two groups are counter culture in essence, but extremely different. So when I say the current batch of anti-Zionist protesters are just Tankie Che shirt kids, believe me. I've known their type for years.

I have illustrated many Dad!Ominis, but as I have not yet published my headcanon on DadOmi, I would like to explain it in drawing and text because I am not good at English😳
Tumblr media
In my headcanon, Ominis discussed this with his girlfriend, MC, while he was still at school, and they chose to drop the Gaunt name and elope together. The pair jumped ship on a steamer to the USA soon after graduation. As you know, the Gaunt family has ties to the USA, as the mother of the founder of the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the USA was born a Gaunt, and there is a Slytherin wand buried in the garden of that school.
Tumblr media
(This is an illustration of that scene that I posted on Twitter in May, but there are lots of things I want to correct 😂)
They then started a new life together in the USA, where Ominis was lucky enough to get a job as an employee at MACUSA, which had just moved to New York and was short-staffed. (I have no idea of the details of how Ominis, under a pseudonym that presumably hides his Gaunt family origins, was hired as a permanent employee, and whether his obvious posh English could hide his identity in the US. Never mind the details!🤣)
Tumblr media
And secondly, how Ominis became a father in the place where he eloped. In my personal opinion, he would surely be reluctant to leave offspring, even if he became a couple with the woman he loved. A witch named Rionach Steward, daughter of the founder of Ilvermorny School, has become so thick with Gaunt blood that she is rumoured to be a Parselmouth. She remained celibate for the rest of her life in order not to leave her cursed blood to future generations. Ominis is very serious and thoughtful and, like Rionach, would not want to leave the Gaunt blood flowing in his body to future generations.
Where Rionach and Ominis differ, however, is that he is a man. If Ominis were heterosexual and had a healthy body, it would be difficult for him to completely abstain from sexual desire for women. (As an aside, I think this dichotomy is the spice that makes Ominis' smut more attractive.)
Two young, loving people who are financially strapped and starved for entertainment are sure to indulge their carnal desires. Soon, they find out that MC is pregnant.
In other words, in my headcanon, ominis become fathers for the pathetic reason of contraceptive failure. I guess there are two sides to this, but of course I am convinced that Ominis is not the kind of irresponsible man who would run away from an unwanted pregnancy. Ominis will be very bewildered, but he will be cheerful in front of his pregnant wife and will support her with dedication, as in the manga and illustrations I posted the other day! During MC's pregnancy, Ominis will be repeatedly struck with anxiety, but as he sees his wife's belly growing bigger day by day, he will gradually develop paternal feelings for her. And after the birth of his first child, when he holds his baby for the first time, Ominis will be moved by the preciousness of the creature in his arms and the weight of life, and he will awaken as the best dad…!
Tumblr media
I hope that Ominis, who became a father after unexpected events in his elopement, lives happily ever after, chewing on how precious a healthy family is😍.
Of course, it's all my headcanon, so I like different people's different ideas about Ominis' future! Anyway, I am happy as long as I see Ominis living a long and happy life..!
Thank you for reading my long story 🫶🫶🫶
A Japanese translation of the text is placed in undercut.

a/n: thank you both for these asks!! i decided to put them into one since they’re pretty similar and i honestly couldn’t come up with two separate scenarios for my boy gyu. hope you guys enjoy!! soon i’ll have written for every member!!
COMMENTS AND FEEDBACK GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
Tumblr media
the kimchi jigae soup in front of you popped slightly at the heat as you stirred it with a wooden spoon. you had just finished making gyu’s favorite dish of yours. he was coming back after months working hard at concert after concert. much like the many moas who couldn’t attend txt’s newest tour, you lived off of the many clips and performance videos. your boy shined while your heart slowly shrunk in his absence.
but today, today he would be back in your arms. back smiling and back to making fun of you lovingly. all you could think about was his smile, his body and lips pressed against yours.
but you shouldn’t get ahead of yourself, he was probably jet lagged and would want to sleep soon after eating. soon, you don’t have a time limit on your love. you had just finished plating both of your meals when you heard a key meticulously being inserted into the lock.
then, it was tilted and removed. finally, you heard a hand wrap around the doorknob, and finally, you saw him. you couldn’t have moved faster if you were running for your life.
within seconds, you were in his arms once more. gyu buried his head into the crook of your neck, wrapping his arms around your middle whilst yours wrapping around his neck. he leaned forward and waddled into the house with you, making no move to let you go as he kicked the door shut.
despite your best efforts, you had started crying. “oh bear..” you muttered, voice warbling as you moved your hand to cradle the back of his head. as soon as you spoke, he dug his head deeper into your neck, whining in tiny. you could feel tears hitting your shirt. he was crying too.
you don’t know how long you both stood at the entryway. gyu took to swaying you both back and forth, soft cries turning into sniffles.
you tried to pull away, to which he whined and pulled you ever closer once more.
you chuckled, “i made you soup, bear,” you say so softly that if your souls weren’t so near, he wouldn’t have heard you.
beomgyu smiled, and nodded. he pulled away from you and simply gazed at you. he reached his pinkie to remove his bangs from his eyes.
“come, it’s your favorite.” you drag your hands down from his neck, to his shoulders and finally land into his hands. they hold onto you tightly. “might be a little cold now.” you turn around slowly, dragging him behind you by his hand. as you neared the table, he gasped dramatically at the soup as though he wasn’t the one who chose it. you giggle to yourself.
“yahhh!!!” he practically yells, settling into the seat across from you and breathing in harshly through his teeth.
he picks up his spoon, but when he looks up at you sitting across from him, he pauses.
“what… are you doing?” he says slowly, as though this is the worst betrayal of his life. you tilt your head in confusion, letting out a questioning hum.
he scoffs, rolling his eyes and reaching towards your plate and bowl. he grabs them both carefully, moving them to be in front of him. he takes your spoon and places it next to the bowl, and looks at you expectantly.
you get the message, and get up slowly with a little smile on your face. he backs his seat up as you approach, looking up at you as though this is the first time he’d ever seen you. you settle into his lap, and he takes his spoon, scoops up some soup and blows on it before lifting it to your lips. you stick your tongue out, making sure it’s not steaming before taking it in your mouth. you hum in approval. you repeat what he did, with your own spoon and bowl.
this time, however, he insists you pretend the spoon is a plane.
you sigh, making faux plane noises and swerving the spoon around in the air before finally making it to his mouth. beomgyu swallows it and his eyes widen. just when you’re about to ask if he likes it, he reaches forward to your cheek and softly grazes his thumb against the apple of it. this was the side of beomgyu that you loved. the soft side, with his loudness sprinkled through out. this was a side that only you and his members saw.
he kept his smile as he looked down at your lips and then to your eyes. he slowly pulls you closer, before slotting your lips together. you both let out sighs, your very beings melding together into one. his lips are exceptionally warm from the soup, and taste vaguely of gum and kimchi. you drop the spoon onto the table and cup his cheek. he reaches down to pinch your thigh, signaling you to face him completely.
you refuse and pull away reluctantly, “you need to eat, bear.” you say as you reach down and hold his bowl in front of you. he sighs dramatically and rolls his eyes, but takes your spoonfuls diligently. every few bites he presses a plush kiss onto your cheek, and you reciprocate happily. soon, you are both feeding each other lovingly. you hate to imagine the teasing beomgyu would face if his members caught him being so lovey with you.
after you had finished your meal, you simply sat with him for a while. he held you close to him, and you played with the short sleeve of his shirt as you asked him about the tour. he responded with whispers, pressing kisses to your hair between every sentence, rubbing his hand up and down your arm.
you look up slightly, pressing a kiss to his neck before sitting up and stretching. he whines as you separate yourself from him.
“i’llllll wash the dishes laterrrr,” he drags out, “stay with meeee..” your bear whines, pouting at you and giving you his best puppy eyes.
“oorrrrrrrr…” you respond in playful mocking, “you could help me wash them now… and then we can sleep.”
his shoulders slumped as he realized your idea was better. he didn’t respond, simply getting up with you and following you to the sink.
even as you washed the dishes, his arms stayed wrapped around you from behind.
“never leaving you for so long again,” he muttered into your neck over and over. “love you too much..”
you smiled, turning your head to press a soft kiss onto his lips and returning the sentiment.

You’d spent nearly two months now as a trainee, a time marked by endless hours of vocal lessons, dance practice, and media training. Days blurred into nights; and the rhythm of your life was dictated by the pulse of the company’s expectations.
While it wasn't as harsh for you, considering you had three former idols and a well-known manager acting as your safeguards, it still was relentless. You barely had time to even think. Which in a sense was a relief, but in another sense, it made your life seamless; but not in a good way, in a way that was unhuman- but still more human than how you had been living the previous months.
Christmas had passed in a whirlwind of obligations- no time to linger in the nostalgia of it, no time to feel anything at all, really. You had called your parents, who were doing better. You called them almost daily; they had settled down a few miles away from where your house had been previously, but your mom already had talks of coming closer to you. Even though you encouraged her to stay a bit longer.
You were constantly moving, constantly working. Maybe that was the point. Maybe if you stayed busy enough, there would be no room for the grief to catch up to you. And with your parents being in the same area as you; grief would be given those magical little mushrooms and almost immediately reach you.
Not that you consciously realized that since you didn’t like to think about it too much; but it was hard not to notice how often you threw yourself into the work, into every last detail of your routine. As if you were using everything as a distraction; and gaslit yourself into believing it wasn't. So, you worked and worked. As if you let yourself stop, even for a second, you would realize that you were burying things instead of working on them.
Your days were packed with duties. Currently, you were prepping for your first real appearance on a variety show, the kind Hajun had always talked about- the kind he’d been on countless times with his group. It should have felt like an exciting milestone, but instead, it was another thing to check off the list; and it was a source of anxiety. You weren't sure if you were ready for this. So soon after you had begun this journey.
But it wasn't like you had much of a choice.
Someone random person had leaked a photo of you and Haru grabbing lunch after practice last week, which sparked someone else to release images of you, Haru and Jiho at a park. And now the public was convinced you were dating Haru and did everything in their power to find your identity. Which wasn't inherently hard for true fans.
You could hear the whispers in the hallways whenever you passed by other trainees or staff, the gossip trailing behind you. How foreigners had no place in the industry if they could get into scandals so easily; how your brother must have been disappointed. How it was "disgusting" how you had gotten with your brother's best friend once he passed away. Haru corrected them, but you didn't bother correcting them. It's not like they believed what people told them when they were so deluded themselves. Besides, it was easier that way, to let people believe what they wanted. It kept the real truth at bay- the truth you were avoiding, the truth that came with Hajun's name attached to it.
The bustling energy of the building felt like a comfort today, the perfect kind of chaos to drown out the noise in your own head. This particular studio was enormous, multiple sets filling the space, the air buzzing with activity. Haru was by your side as always, quietly protective as the two of you made your way to the set where your interview would take place.
His presence reminded you of that feeling when the sun breaks through a cloudy sky- not all at once, but in small, soft rays that slowly warm your skin. It wasn’t the overwhelming comfort that came from loud reassurances, but rather the steady heartbeat of someone who knew what it meant to stay by your side without asking for anything in return.
He was now your spring, still warm and alive, even as the flowers of the past had wilted.
Although, neither of you had dived into your feelings about Hajun's suicide, it was visibly upsetting to both of you. You wished you had the courage to ask Haru how he was.
Did his hurt hurt the same as yours?
But avoidance was how you coped. And it seemed that's how Haru coped as well.
Which is why you found yourself here to begin with.
You reached the set and found yourself seated in front of a large, blinding array of lights, the cameras rolling as soon as you were in position.
The interviewer was lively and animated, going through the usual questions- your training experience, your upcoming plans, the challenges you faced. You answered with a practiced calm, each word carefully chosen, each answer rehearsed.
You made sure that your previously bright personality was showing. It had much since dimmed, but you had to act for the camera. You had always been quite similar to your brother when it came to kindness and empathy, but while Hajun was like a little butterfly, flitting around and impacting hundreds of people's lives, your love came out in much quieter ways to those you decided to be around.
Which wasn't many, considering you were somewhat of a loner in school, and didn't have much time outside of work and other activities to make those friends.
But regardless, you faked as if you had a million friends. As if you were him.
And you weren't you.
All was going well until the interviewer shifted into murkier waters, tilting their head with a curious smile before leaning in slightly.
"So, you’re Hajun’s little sister. We've established this- but everyone’s been saying you don’t really look like him. Are you sure you’re related?" The interviewer chuckled, and so you gave out a nervous laugh before your breath nearly stopped all together in an instant.
The question hit you like a punch to the gut. Someone else saying his name triggered a response that you didn't know what to feel about. When you really thought about, how many time had you spoken his name out loud? You heard the boys metnion it frequently, but did you ever here a stranger?
Yourself?
"Well, I’m adopted, so we don’t share any physical resemblance," your reply was hesitant albeit your voice steady and mind reeling.
The interviewer laughed awkwardly, clearly oblivious to the weight of their words. "Oh! Right, of course. Well, it must be tough, stepping into the same industry where he was such a star. Do you feel any pressure to live up to his legacy?"
Your heart pounded in your chest, the familiar ache creeping up from the back of your mind. You hadn’t let yourself think about Hajun in weeks, not in any real, tangible way. And now here it was, being brought up so casually, like it was just another topic to toss around. You swallowed hard, the corners of your mouth tightening as you searched for the right words.
You could see Haru shifting in the wings, his gaze flickering toward the interviewer, and you could feel his unease. "Of course there’s some pressure," you said finally, your voice softer. "But I'm doing it for him so I have to overlook that..."
The interviewer nodded, seemingly satisfied with your answer, but the tension in the air remained thick. You focused on getting through the rest of the interview, your responses becoming more automatic and your now seemingly eternal sullen demeanor poking through as you went along.
When it finally ended, you felt like you could breathe again. You stood up, stretching your stiff limbs as you walked towards Haru, the later moving closer, giving you a reassuring nod. "You handled that well."
"Did I? I'm pretty sure I just went on auto pilot..." you replied with a soft laugh, more out of exhaustion than humor. You rubbed the back of your neck, feeling the weight of the day start to settle on your shoulders.
As the two of you exited the set, you couldn’t help but glance around the building. The energy had shifted since you arrived, and now it felt like the whole place was 10x more alive with activity. Haru was talking quietly to one of the staff members as you continued down the hallway, your mind still swirling from the interview.
You'll have to get used to this. People will ask all the time.
You passed by another set, not paying much attention at first, but something of a sixth sense tugged at your awareness. A familiar figure stood near the entrance, casually chatting with a few people around him. It took a second for it to click, but when it did, your heart skipped a beat.
It was Chris. You almost didn’t recognize him at first- his hair was slightly different, and an effortless confident aura was surrounding him, although something about him screamed at deep seeded insecurity and doubt.
He was short. Much shorter than you had expected. And he was wearing an outfit that was appealing to the toned muscles in his arms. He was smiling widely and laughing; his noticeably large nose scrunching up in a way you couldn't find yourself describing in any other way other than adorable. You had never seen him in person, but it was definitely him, and suddenly, everything around you felt like it had slowed down.
He hadn’t seen you yet, still focused on his conversation, but you couldn’t tear your eyes away. You hadn’t spoken in weeks, and you’d convinced yourself it was because you were busy with your training and he was busy with his comeback.
Not the fact that deep down you felt like a burden, and that you'd strangely rather burden Hajun's group members rather than someone who continued with a different type of liveliness and life than you and the rest of the people in your had. You had told yourself it didn’t matter, that you were both just wrapped up in your own lives and that it wouldn't hurt not texting him.
You had even taken that as a means of stowing those letters away. Not even looking at them; trying to forget about their existence in the whole.
But seeing him now, right in front of you, made you realize how much you had missed the interactions with him.
And sparked a want to open up another one of those letters.
But it also made you slightly angry.
How could he be smiling so effortlessly? Why couldn't he feel the pain I feel when I try to smile that effortlessly?
"Hey, are you okay?" Haru’s voice broke through your thoughts, and you blinked, pulling your gaze away from Chris.
"Yeah," you said, forcing a smile. "I’m fine."
But as you took a deep breath and prepared to walk away, something told you that this encounter wasn’t over yet.
Do I ... want it to be over?
Haru noticed the subtle shift in your demeanor almost immediately and hesitance in continuing to where you were going. He wasn’t the type to miss anything, when it came to you - and especially now that Juju was gone. His eyes narrowed slightly, following your gaze to the man you were staring at. "What is it...did you see someone you know?" His voice was soft, but there was a hint of confusion, maybe even concern. You didn't blame him it wasn't like you should really know anyone. Maybe just in passing; but even then, it should be people in your company.
You blinked again, shaking yourself from your trance. "Oh, um, yeah, kinda...Chris," you muttered, barely loud enough for him to hear. Your heart was still racing from the unexpected sight of him, the weight of everything unsaid between you suddenly pressing down on your chest.
"Chris... whose Chris- wait like… Bang Chan? That Chris?" Haru’s confusion deepened as he looked from you to where Bangchan was standing and back again.
He’d heard the name before, of course. Everyone knew Stray Kids, and Haru had worked in the industry long enough to cross paths with them a few times. But you’d never mentioned that you knew him- let alone well enough for this kind of reaction.
You nodded, your voice a little shaky. "Yeah… we haven’t spoken in a while." Your words were hesitant, unsure of how much to reveal to Haru. Even though he was your protector, your confidant, this was a part of your life that felt different. Personal in a way that even he couldn’t touch.
"You've met him in person?"
"No, no...Hajun..." You took a breath and told Haru what you had yet to tell him. "Hajun left a box of letters...I found a polaroid with Chris's number..." You expected Haru to freak out; ask more questions.
You could tell he wanted to ask more- there was no way he didn't. He would want closer for his best friend's suicide. But instead he nodded, not showing much reaction at all an glanced back at Chris, who still in conversation with his groupmates, completely unaware of your presence.
"Do you want to talk to him?" he asked, a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
Did you? Part of you wanted to run in the opposite direction, to avoid the awkwardness of a meeting you weren’t sure you were ready for. But another part of you- one you didn’t want to admit to- longed to interact with him again, to close the distance that had grown between you in the weeks of silence; and start a new kind of friendship, where you could rely on him; on he made you promise to have once you had arrived. A promise you had somewhat long since broken.
"I don’t know," you finally admitted. "I wasn’t expecting to see him..." Seeing Chris had stirred up emotions you’d buried, much like the way you’d tried to push down thoughts of Hajun. But now, both were threatening to surface at once.
And those emotions… they were indescribable. Emotions that were strange and strong and seemed to take root somewhere deep within, stirring something that felt unfamiliar, yet undeniable. It was as if a part of you recognized something before your mind could catch up, like a memory you couldn’t place or a name on the tip of your tongue. It made your breath hitch, your pulse quicken- not from fear, but from something else entirely. Something you didn’t know how to understand, not yet, and maybe not ever. You weren’t sure if you wanted to.
Haru gave you a thoughtful look, as if trying to read your mind. "You don’t have to do anything," he said gently. “We can leave if you want.”
You chewed your bottom lip, torn. "Maybe… let’s just wait a bit," you replied, unsure of how to explain what you were working through. It was like your feet were glued to the floor, unable to move, as if something in the universe was telling you that you couldn’t walk away from this moment. Not yet.
Haru crossed his arms, looking like he wanted to say something more, but then he just nodded. "Alright." He stayed by your side, a quiet pillar of support, even though you could feel his confusion. Haru wasn’t used to seeing you like this- so indecisive, so unsure. He’d always been the steady one. But now, you could sense his curiosity, his unease, his need to understand what was going on.
You glanced back at Chris, taking in the sight of him. He was laughing at something one of his members said, the sound of it hitting you once more in a way you hadn’t anticipated. The laugh brought a warmth to your chest, like a reminder of something familiar, something you couldn’t quite forget.
As if sensing your stare, Chris glanced around, his eyes scanning the area before they landed on you. Time seemed to slow as his gaze locked with yours. His smile faltered, recognition dawned on his face, and for a moment, it felt like the entire room disappeared, leaving just the two of you standing in the middle of it.
His eyes widened slightly; surprise written all over his features. He opened his mouth to say something, but whatever words he had seemed to vanish as quickly as they came.
You could feel Haru watching you, still confused but more attuned to your feelings than you wanted to admit. "Do you want me to go?" he whispered, sensing the change in the air. His question was gentle, but you could hear the underlying tone of protectiveness. He was ready to stay or leave, depending on what you needed.
You shook your head, eyes still fixed on Chris. "No, stay," you murmured, not fully trusting yourself to handle this alone. You didn't know why. Within minutes of talking to Chris on the phone you had already handed your trust over to him.
Maybe you just wanted that grounding presence with you. Needed it.
The air between you and Chris seemed to thicken as the reality of your first in-person encounter sank in. You could feel the silent anchor beside, but the weight of the moment pulled your attention fully to the man across the room. And without even noticing it you stepped towards him.
Chris's eyes were locked on yours, his expression shifting from surprise to something softer, almost like recognition mingled with disbelief. It was as if he was trying to connect the dots in his mind, piecing together the familiarity from your text exchanges with the image of you standing in front of him for the first time.
His group members that were standing with him- Han, Felix, and Seungmin- seemed to notice the change in Chris's demeanor, glancing in your direction with curious looks. Han leaned closer to Chris, whispering something that made Chris shake his head slightly, as if telling him to wait. Felix, who had been mid-conversation, raised an eyebrow but didn’t press, though his eyes flickered toward you with interest.
You shifted uncomfortably under the collective gaze, feeling the pressure of the moment weighing down on your shoulders. Haru’s voice cut through the tension, low and steady. "It’s okay. You don’t have to say anything right now, Hime." The Japanese flowed quickly ff his tongue and you hmmed in response. His words were meant to reassure, but the knot in your stomach tightened.
Chris took a tentative step forward, his gaze still locked on yours, as if he was trying to figure out what to say. His members exchanged glances, sensing the unspoken tension between you two but keeping their distance, clearly curious about what was unfolding. Seungmin was the first to break away, giving a small nod to Han and Felix before stepping aside, giving Chris space. Han followed Seungmin next, but Felix stayed by his Hyung's side.
"Y/N?" Chris’s voice was quiet, almost hesitant, but still happy, as if he wasn’t entirely sure it was really you standing there. His accent, thicker in person, wrapped around your name in a way that sent a shiver down your spine. It was a sound you’d only ever heard through phone calls, and now it felt different- more real, more personal.
He had seen pictures of you for the first time floating around after you arrived; they were never that good of quality, but he gauged what you looked like from- but seeing you in person was different. The first thought coming to mind being-
She's beautiful.
You took a breath.
Haru, sensing your hesitation, subtly stepped back to give you space. He glanced at Chris, then at Felix, his protective instincts clearly on alert for some strange reason but trusting you to navigate this moment.
Chris, for his part, seemed just as unsure. His eyes flickered with recognition and something else- maybe relief?- as if he’d been wondering when or if this day would ever come; or as if he had been anxious without your texts. As if those texts were a fulfillment to his late friend
"I didn’t… I didn’t know you were going to be here," he said, a small, almost awkward smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. He glanced at Haru and the others who were now coming to stand nearby; Jiho and Sunwoo returning from their own meeting with some segemtn hosts; Sunwoo in the middle of masticating an entire donut in one go. Then back at you.
"Are you, um… here for the variety show?" He rubbed at the back of his neck.
You nodded, finally finding your voice. "Yeah… just- just filming something. What about you?" The question was simple, but the weight of everything unspoken between you hung heavy in the air.
Chris let out a breath, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand. "Same. We’re doing a bit for a show too. I didn’t expect… well, I didn’t expect to see you here. I thought it would be a bit longer before you were appearing on shows..."
The rest of his members had shown up to members to linger nearby, and you could feel their eyes on you, though they kept a respectful distance. Han, who had been standing closest to Chris earlier came back and gave him a gentle nudge, a playful smirk on his face. “You know her, Hyung?” His tone was light, but there was curiosity in his eyes. "Hello, Noona."
"I'm actually younger than all of you..." You said sheepishly, Han's face turning a delicate pink. And Jeongin's eyes widening.
"AH Hyung-ah!!! Is this the girl you were talking to on the phone that one night?!" The rest of the members turn to Jeongin then turn to Chris, mischevious smiles creeping up on some of their faces.
"Before any of you say anything it's not like that but yes we’ve been in touch.” He locked eyes with you. "She's Hajun's little sister. The maknae of Eclips3..."
The members looked at you and fell silent, their smiles falling slightly as well.
Felix, standing shot you rueful smile. “It’s nice to meet you, Y/N. Chris has talked about you to me quite a lot."
You felt your face heat up at the mention, causing a smile to erupt from Felix while glancing at Chris, who looked equally flustered. He cleared his throat, avoiding your gaze for a moment. "Yeah, well… you know… it’s-" He stumbled over his words, clearly not expecting to be called out in front of you.
"It's okay. It'd make sense that you'd bring up Hajun's sister in the midst of Hajun's death." Haru stepped forward closer to you once more, his body heat instantly connecting with yours.
Chris’s expression shifted, softening at the mention of Hajun. He nodded slowly, his eyes meeting yours again. "I know. I…I’m sorry, Y/N. I don't think I ever got the chance to say that. At least not truly." His voice was quieter now, more serious, and the sincerity in his words hit you in a way that made your chest tighten.
For a moment, the noise of the bustling set faded into the background, and it was just you, Chris, and the shared understanding of loss hanging between you.
An understanding that you were sure of hit less hard than it did for you- but an understanding that hit all of you.
"It's fine. We all lost him." You hated the presence of annoyance in your voice. But you just wanted to forget. At this point you didn't want to mention him.
Why was that...?
You could feel the tension in the air change, though it wasn’t something easily identifiable. And with the shift in change Haru’s hand came to rest lightly on the small of your back, his stance just a little too close, as if to remind you that he could guide you out of this building, you guys could leave at any time you wanted just to say the word.
Felix’s curiosity sparked once more though, his gaze flicking between you, Haru, and Chris with a thoughtful expression. He shifted his weight, leaning slightly closer to Chris. "Did you know Hajun well? You mentioned him before but I never heard much." His question was casual, but with underlying note of intrigue; but you could feel the other members wince at how flippantly he spoke of the dead. But deep down you didn't blame him the mystery of how Chris fit into your world, would have been a point of questioning for you as well.
Chris’s face had mixture of nostalgia and sadness flicker across it, then he smiled.
Smiled.
"Yeah… Hajun and I were best friends during our trainee days. We went through a lot together before he switched companies." He looked up in the sky, a smile still on his face as he thought of the memories. "We kept in touch even after that- he debuted but found time to visit - even visited in Australia once or twice- but then came my turn and we were both too busy... I didn't get to see him much in the last few years, just at a few celebrations, but he was so popular I couldn't even say hello without getting stampeded. I loved him like a brother. And did all thew way up until his death. And I will forever. Life just… got in the way..."
There was a familiarity in the way Chris spoke about Hajun, something deeper than just passing acquaintances. The sudden reminder of how intertwined their lives had been before their paths diverged pulled at the grief you had tried so hard to bury. The loss was not just yours; it stretched far beyond the confines of your family, touching people like Chris who had shared formative years with your brother.
Haru, ever perceptive, shifted slightly beside you. His expression remained neutral - but not after a small crack in his mask- as if the pain and past Chris was sharing could relate to him; and how he felt. The way his arm seemed to hover protectively near you didn’t go unnoticed by Chris though. The subtle tension between them grew palpable, and you could see Chris’s eyes flicker between the two of you, a shadow of uncertainty crossing his features.
Haru stared him down as well, and you didn't notice it- not that you would have understood why even if you did.
Felix, ever the one to break the silence, raised an eyebrow and threw a playful look at Han, though his question was pointed. "So, Haru, you’ve been looking out for Y/N a lot, huh?" His tone was teasing, but there was a knowing glint in his eye. The rumors of you and Haru dating hadn’t gone unnoticed, especially among the gossip-loving industry insiders.
Haru’s response was immediate, his voice firm but not defensive. "She’s family to us. Hajun’s little sister." His gaze was steady, but the emphasis on the word ‘family’ was hard to miss, even though his body language suggested something more. His fingers brushed lightly against your arm, a touch meant to comfort but that also deepened the protective stance he had taken since you stepped into the building.
You could feel Chris’s eyes on Haru, now noticing the subtle calculation in his gaze as he tried to piece together what was going on. The rumors of you and Haru were now a constant murmur in the background ever since you’d appeared alongside the remaining members of Eclips3. Though you hadn’t paid them much attention, you could sense that they affected how others perceived your relationships- particularly with Haru.
Chris knew in the back of his mind that rumors usually had no substance, but for some reason this one- the thought of you being with Haru tugged at him in an odd manner.
Weird.
Chris cleared his throat, clearly processing the situation in front of him. "I’ve heard a lot about you, Haru. Hajun used to talk about the bond you guys had as a group before you guys even debuted. I’m glad Y/N has someone like you around. And you guys as well." He motioned to his seonbaes, Jiho and Sunwoo giving polite nods. His words were polite, but with a subtle edge to them, as if he was probing for more information, trying to figure out what exactly your relationship with Haru was.
Haru met Chris’s gaze evenly, not backing down, but the tension between the two of them was now more than palpable to you. Almost like you could breathe it. It was a strange, unspoken battle- one not of words but of intentions. You could feel it in the way Haru stood just a little taller, his hand lingering at the small of your back, and in the way Chris’s eyes flickered between the two of you, trying to read the room.
Feeling the shift in the atmosphere, Han chimed in, his lighthearted tone trying to diffuse the situation. "Well, it’s clear Y/N has plenty of people looking out for her. That’s a good thing, right?" He shot Chris a quick grin, then turned his attention to you. "It must be overwhelming, though, right? Jumping into the industry like this with everything going on. So, we can be supports for you as well! 7 new ones!"
You managed a small smile, grateful for Han’s attempt to change the subject, and his almost immediate support, but the weight of the conversation lingered. "Yeah, it’s been… a lot. But I have Haru, Jiho, and Sunwoo to help me through it." You glanced at Chris, the tension between him and Haru still lingering in the air. “And…I have people like you." You turned to Han's and Felix's expectant eyes. "And you guys."
"What about me?" Hyunjin and Jeongin whined at the exact same time. You felt a chuckle escape and acknowledged them as well.
Chris smiled faintly at that, the tension easing slightly but not disappearing entirely. "Yeah. I’ll always be here." His words felt heavier than they should have, laced with meaning that hung between you, unspoken, undeniable, and at the time unknown.
The tension between Haru and Chris remained though, subtle but present, a protective energy from both sides. Chris, though seemingly trying to respect the situation, couldn’t hide the curiosity in his eyes as he glanced between you and Haru once more, wondering how deep that connection went.
Haru’s protectiveness felt comforting, familiar, but now you could sense that it might be giving others- Chris especially -a different impression.
"Well, no matter what, it's really great to have you here," Felix said, offering you a kind smile. "It must be tough, but you're doing amazing." His words were genuine, and you could feel the sincerity behind them. Despite the awkward tension, Felix’s warmth was a welcome contrast, something that reminded you that not everyone was scrutinizing your every move.
Sunwoo, who had been quiet throughout the exchange, finally spoke up, his voice breaking through the tension with a bit more gravity than usual. "It's hard for all of us. Everything’s changed since Hajun… well, since he left us." His words were gentle, but they carried the weight of everything left unsaid.
Chris’s expression softened, his own grief surfacing for just a moment. "Yeah," he murmured. "When I heard… it felt unreal." He glanced at you, his eyes searching yours as if trying to gauge how you were holding up. "I've seen it happen time and time again but it never hur-"
"It’s okay. I get it. We can drop it," you said, your voice quieter now. "Everything’s been… complicated for everyone but it doesn't mean we have to continue to bring it up."
Haru, sensing your unease, shifted his stance slightly, his hand dropping from your back but still hovering close, as if ready to step in at any moment. He was your anchor in this moment, grounding you amidst the swirling emotions and the still-lingering tension between him and Chris.
But then Chris spoke up again, this time more cautiously, changin the subject. “I didn’t know you were doing so well in training,” he said, his eyes lingering on you and a smile in his voice. "I heard rumors that you might be a monster rookie. The Kids and I have to watch out before you take all of our awards." There was something in his tone, something softer and happier, that made you feel like he was seeing you- not as Hajun’s little sister, but as your own person, standing in front of him.
It felt...nice?
"I...really?" you asked, your voice slightly shaky as you looked at him with an exited anticipation.
A look passed between Chris and Haru, but it was fleeting, Chris looking away first.
"Of course...I'm sure you'll have...a lot of fans." He said smiling and rubbing his neck in habit.
Felix grinned and nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fan boys since you're pretty too!" it was said so innocently, no awkwardness but Jiho huffed.
"Nope. Not letting our Y/N get involved with anyone." Jiho said ruffling your hair, pushing Haru out of the way.
"Hey I don't have a dating ban I can if I want-"
"Nope, not allowing it!" Both Sunwoo and Haru said. That spark Chris' interest and he opened his mouth to say something.
But before the conversation could continue, there was a sudden call from across the room- a staff member gesturing for you to move to the next set. Haru stepped closer to you as the others began to disperse, his hand gently resting on your arm, a subtle signal that he was still watching over you.
Just as you turned to follow Haru toward your assigned set, you caught a glimpse of Chris, his eyes lingering on you for just a second longer than necessary. There was something in his gaze- something unfinished; unsaid.
But before you could process it, the moment was gone, and you were being pulled forward into the next part of your day, Haru guiding you toward the unfamiliar world you were slowly becoming a part of. The strange familiarity of it all- the familiarity you only grew through Hajun's lense- the training, the filming, the media attention- was almost unsettling. Even though this was Hajun’s world, it was becoming yours now, too.
It wasn’t until later, when the lights dimmed and the cameras were finally off, that you realized how much had changed in such a short amount of time. You had stepped into the spotlight, just like Hajun had once done, but it was a path you hadn’t expected to take. And yet, here you were.
The same path he had taken, yet you hoped to change the ending.
As you exited the set, the faint sound of familiar voices reached your ears. You turned, and there, across the room, was Chris. He hadn’t left yet, still chatting with a member from another guy group, but his eyes found yours the moment you glanced his way.
It was as if time slowed for a moment, the world shrinking down to just the two of you across the busy set. He gave you a smile- one that seemed to say more than words could. One that you couldn’t help but feel peace looking at. Even if it was a momentary peace. You found yourself smiling back, a flicker of warmth igniting in your chest.
But as that warmth blossomed, so did a sudden, painful realization: the last person who had ever made you feel that same kind of warmth, that deep comfort, had been Hajun. And now, he was gone.
Only, this warmth was…different.
Hajun’s warmth had always been like a fire- steady, burning bright even in the darkest of times. His presence was electric, like the hum of energy in the air that always made you feel alive. It was the kind of warmth that wrapped around you like a safety net, grounding you when the world felt like it was spinning too fast. Hajun had been a constant, his love for you as sure as the sun rising each day. There had never been a question in your mind about it.
But this—this flicker of warmth that came from Chris- it felt softer, gentler. Less like the steady heat of a fire and more like the slow, creeping warmth of sunlight on a winter morning. It wasn’t the same.
It couldn’t be the same.
But it wasn’t unwelcome, either. It was a different kind of comfort, one that you didn’t fully understand yet. There was something about it that felt more intimate, more tender- something that stirred an unfamiliar feeling deep within you.
Still, the ache of loss lingered, a bittersweet reminder that no one, not even Chris, could replace Hajun. The warmth Chris offered was something else entirely. Not better or worse, just different.
Something you hadn’t felt before.
You swallowed hard, the weight of your grief settling into your chest like a stone. Hajun’s absence was still too raw, too present. No matter how much you denied it. The thought of him not being here, not standing beside you like he always had, was almost unbearable. You missed the steady, unbreakable bond you’d had with him, the way he could make everything feel okay, no matter how bad things got.
But for just a moment, looking at Chris, you felt a strange flicker of hope. It was subtle, so subtle you almost missed it, but it was there. A quiet promise in the warmth of his smile, a sense that maybe- just maybe- there was something more to be found in the space Hajun had left behind.
He had left behind those letters. You should open them right? You were led to Chris...maybe those letters could lead to something else as well?
Maybe there was a reason Hajun wanted you to find comfort in Chris. But you didn't want to think about it.
You glanced away at the sight of Chris's smile falling slightly, the weight of it all pressing down on you, and yet, that quiet warmth remained.
You wanted to put it out. That small flicker of warmth- you wanted to ignore it, snuff it out before it could grow into something larger. It scared you, the thought of accepting it. Because if you let it in, if you allowed yourself to feel that comfort, what would happen when it eventually disappeared?
The fear that it could fade, just like Hajun’s had, was a vicious thought. You’d lost warmth before- the kind that once seemed eternal- and the thought of losing it again, of finding solace in someone only for it to vanish, felt like a death wish.
There was a part of you that wanted to turn away from it, to reject that small ember entirely before it had a chance to take root. Because if Chris’s warmth died down too...? If you allowed yourself to feel something, only to lose it all over again? You weren’t sure you could survive that kind of emptiness twice.
So, as much as it tempted you, you hesitated. You weren’t ready to accept something that could one day be taken away. Not again. Not yet.
Maybe not ever.

Swim Tryouts at 7:30- Danielle Van De Donk
Tumblr media
Danielle Van De Donk X USWNT Player! Lyon Player! Reader
Synopsis: When Daan has football at 7:00 and swimming practice at 7:30, while at the world cup.
851 words
Being a US player that plays outside of the US is rare, like extremely rare, but being the only one to have never played in the NWSL, now that's rare.
I was born in the USA, raised in Memphis Tennessee, but when I was 14, I moved away to Germany as that's my father's home country. When I spent the next three years before I started off my career in the German Women's top League.
I've played for four leagues, now, starting off my career in the German League with Bayern Munich in 2017 for just one season. Getting to play with the greats over there, learning so much from Frido, Sara Dabritz, Jill Roord, Leupolz, and Leah Galton.
Before I signed with Arsenal in 2018, for the next three seasons, until 2021. Where we won the WSL title once, in my first season.
Which was where I met Daan, I fell in love to say the least. But she was already in love, with Beth Mead, so I watched on from the side lines, like I was waiting to be subbed on now.
But she was my best friend, it was her, me, Viv and Jill when she finally came and joined us. The Dutchies and the American.
But they were my family.
And then I moved to play for Barcelona for just one season after they won the Champions League in 2021 til 2022. Before I moved, and I got the chance to be with the girl I was in love with.
Daan.
So I joined in 2022, which was where we reconnected, and to say we both fell in love was the truth. We've been dating now for 10 months, and we do hide it, but we don't at the same time.
We're private people but not a secret.
So facing here now in the group stages of the Women's World Cup, it was hard.
But with less than 3 minutes to go of extra time was on the clock, and I turned back after the whistle was blown.
I just saw an orange shirt on the floor. "Who is it?" I asked Lindsay, my Lyon teammate, as I couldn't read from that far away. Well that and I'm dyslexic and can barely read myself.
"Daan." She muttered before I ran over to my girlfriend. I couldn't hide all of this, I was scared, my girlfriend is on the floor not bloody well moving.
"Schatje." I told Daan standing by her as she was led on the floor not moving, crouching by her as I had my hand on her shoulder.
"Poepie." Daan muttered back to me.
"Not that name." I told her with a smile, that was one good sign she could still understand me and knew who we were around her.
When the Dutch medics made their way over to Daan you saw the first showings of blood slowly coming out of her hair, but you had no idea how much there would be under there.
I wasn't given a choice but to move away from her as the Dutch staff moved me out of their way, pushing me back away from my girlfriend.
"No, stay!" Daan told me as she locked eyes with me, trying to reach her hands out to grasp onto me.
"I'm right here." I told her as I kept eyes with her.
I watched as they placed some gauze over her wound, before just placing a swimming cap over it.
I laughed at her.
"Not a word!" Daan told me, pointing that finger at me, wagging it at my face.
"You look like you've got swimming practice in half an hour." I told her with a smile.
"Oh shut up." Daan told me as she stood up.
"Make me!" I told her walking away from her backwards as she was escorted of the pitch before she could return to play.
~~
"Are you two doing okay, it looked rough on the pitch?" The interviewer switched to English seeing me walk up to Daan, and I stood a bit behind my small gal.
"The best players are always the most competitive." I told the interviewer as I interrupted Daan's interview.
"Best friends?" The interviewer asked us both, as my arm was around Daan's shoulders but Daan's was holding onto my waist.
"The best." Daan answered like clockwork for us, squeezing my waist twice, doing our code, for when we wish we could say our feelings.
"Go get that checked out properly." I told Daan raising one eyebrow up at her, as she nodded, looking deep into my eyes.
"I will, ik houd van je." Daan told me, trying to politely kick me out of the interview.
"Ik houd van je." I told her back quickly kissing her before walking off to Lindsay who was gasping at my actions, before I froze.
"You didn't mean to do that?" Daan asked me.
"No I didn't!" I said shaking my head, before running back to kiss Daan one last time before running away back to Lindsay as we were both bright red in the face now.

Mama mom and auntie Caitlin
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

My mom has been acting weird; they have been fighting a lot. Mom has been staying with Auntie Shebahn for the past 2 days, and Auntie Caitlin has been over a lot.

I have asked Mama what has happened, but she won't tell me. I'm not Ruesha and Katie's biological daughter. I was at the Arsenal U10s program, and Katie had an interest in me because I was apparently a good player. I was put up for adoption when I was 3 days old, but the adoption never went through, and I was placed in foster care.

I'm now 17, and I play on the Arsenal senior team. I play as a striker and defender. I'm currently sitting on a chair. I knew what my mama wanted to tell me, but I didn't want it to be true. I was snapped out of my thoughts by Mama talking, "y/n, I need to tell you something because you need to know... me and Ru." I know what's about to come out of her mouth.

It was like slow motion: "We have decided to break up, "I just staired at her, "Did you cheat on her with Caitlin?" A look of guilt goes over her face. " "I-" . I get up and walk out of the room. A few of the girls were standing there. Caitlin was one of them. She reaches out to stop me from going. The rest of the girls look confused. "Get the fuck off me. Why the fuck did you do it?" I get out of her grip and go to the car. and drive off. I drive to the London City Lionesses trying ground, and I park. I can see everyone on the pitch; they are in practice. I sit for 10 minutes, then get out and go in. They know me because I've been there before.

I knock on the door to see if anyone is in there. When I don't get an answer, I go out to the pitch, and the boss sees me. I stand off to the side. She comes and stands next to me. She looks at me with sad eyes, telling me she knows why I'm hearing "Hey, sorry, I don't know why, to be honest."

"It's all good. I guess you know now."
I look at the players on the pitch and say, "What I'm meant to do, I can't look at them without feeling betrayed; she was my aunt.".

Time skip: 3 weeks later

Not a lot has happened except the fact that I've stopped talking to everyone. I'm now staying with Viv Beth and sometimes mom, but mostly Viv and Beth. I don't want to be at Arsenal anymore, so I've decided to have a meeting with the managers and other people to see what I can do to get out of here, even if that means I have to go to the USA. If I want to get out of here, I need to.

It's like I'm suffocating while staying here.

After the meeting (I can't be bothered to write it),

So that was eventful for the first part of the meeting. They did want to let me go, but in the end, after I said I would quit football, they decided to lone me out to Gotham; it's a team in the USA.

I don't really want to leave mom, and to be honest, I don't really want to leave mama, but I need a new start and a fresh slate. I want to go and be able to breathe. Maybe mom will follow me to the USA. I don't think Mama would, and to be honest, I haven't talked to Mama. I'm still angry at her, but she's still my Mama, and I still love her.

It's been three weeks since we made the deal with Gotham. I have yet to tell anyone I need to tell them because in two days it's the end of the season. Then it's the World Cup, so I need to tell them today, but I don't know how to tell them.

I'm sitting on the pitch, and a bunch of the girls next to me are all talking about the next game. the World Cup and the new signings that will happen Leah was talking about people transferring, and everybody was saying who they thought would go where.

I say in a hushed tone, "I'm going to Gotham." I guess it wasn't quite, and Beth said loudly, "You're moving to Gotham!"
————————————————————————————
There is a part two but I’ve not finished it it’s not my best work but I’ve got a few more from another app that I think I might post here the alexia one will be out when I write it which will probably be soon

Do we know where Isabella's dad lives in California? Because I'm from California, and it would be really funny if Azura is excited to go to California for the reasons listed, but then it's like, Central California (which is where I'm from). So she gets there and it just looks like this
Tumblr media
Azura: "Why is the dirt beige? Why is it 110°?? Where's the beach???"
Isabelle: "They have raisins?"
Though people always said that the nicest thing about living in CenCal is that Yosemite, the beach, LA, and San Francisco are all places you could drive to in a day. (Or as I would put it, the best thing about it is how easy it is to leave)
Idk, I just love CenCal, even though it sucks ass lol. (Me-N-Ed's has the best pizza in the world and y'all can fight me on that. Can't speak for the sauce though, since I'm allergic to tomatoes. They do have a location in LA and I think one in/around San Fran).
I'm just Team "Isabelle Loves Niche Califoria Things", which if you want any suggestions, I have plenty. My aunt even moved to Connecticut, though I'm not sure if she still lives there.
Fun fact, my area in CenCal is like 50% Hispanic/Latine, and less than 30% White, so it might be interesting for Azura to look around and see that most people walking around look like her. It might be the first time she's experienced that in the human realm in the USA (I feel like she's been to the Domenican Republic, so she might have felt it there).
AFHDUCHDBF THATS A GOOD IDEA… I was gonna have her dad be from San Francisco but this is also really fantastic

Knowing our Arcanists 2: Eternity
Welcome to entry two of my series: "Knowing our Arcanists"! This is a series in which I introduce and tell the stories of our fellow characters in Reverse: 1999, and next up is: Eternity!
Tumblr media
Eternity was my first main DPS in the game and she had always been intriguing as she has quite the vague story even as a 1.0 character. As such, a lot of this write up is mainly an interpretation of my own. Now, lets get started.
Eternity, born Winnifred, is an American arcanist coming from Exeter, Rhode Island,USA. Born on December 25th, she currently holds a very interesting arcane skill: immortality maintained via connection to aquatic creatures. She has a large connection to the ocean and its animals, and she maintains her immortality by the consumption of sea animals and blue blood. At the same time, she's known to be able to tame sea creatures and manipulate water (or blue blood) to lull one's mind into placidity.
Half of this makes the idea that she is a vampire, which isn't wrong, however she's not exactly one, per se. Since vampires in this game are more known to be associated with the Infected. (which she isn't)
While we don't know much about her childhood, her story starts out early into her adulthood, when she left her candy business in Exeter to avoid being hunted down by the townspeople. Eternity was 'accused' of being a vampire as young people were dying left and right due to an unknown disease—later found to be tuberculosis—whilst Eternity herself thrived without struggle.
Upon leaving, she started out a new arcanum shop business, which sold various items that has a quite range of uses; they may be functional but they're also a bit unconventional. (she currently has a feud with the Foundation about an invisibility cloak and was known to have sold transfigured frogs lmao) This made her an efficient arcane craftsman and businesswoman over time.
Eternity is a very social person, being popular amongst people across the US in all the eras of the 20th Century. Yet, to keep a low profile, Eternity makes efforts to ensure that her identity as an immortal is never revealed. Never making too close of connections, moving from place to place, dismissing people's assumptions about her familiarity. She rose to popularity in the 40s as a socialite between various soldiers (before they were sent off to WWII), then between the 60s to 70s as an actor and TV host, and then in the 90s again as an information broker.
However, she is also a very simple person, never attending late night balls nor staying up past 10 pm. She ends her nights by sitting down and watching The Night Show with a glass of milk. She has a love for talk shows like that, and even wishes to be a guest on it.
Eternity's kindness, transparency, and insightfulness is also known among people who indeed attempt to get close to her. Such one case is of Brian Finn, one of the few people that Eternity made consistent contact with over the course of their lifetime. He left an impression on her as a courageous and unshaken person who never abandoned his ideals over time, even to his deathbed. As such, she rewarded him with a calming and peaceful end.
While continuously growing to be alone as an immortal, Eternity always try to catch up to the latest things to fill that space; tries her best to avoid growing too attached to material things as they're slowly eroded by time. But loneliness can't be escaped, nor can she do anything more to change it. So instead, she remains cordial and involved; always tying up the loose ends, and ensuring to maintain the tranquility in her current life.

ROTTMNT HEAD OVER BOOTS MASTERPOST
Tumblr media
ART CREDIT: @aversiteespabilas THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!!
FIC LINK
100 follower DTIYS / CTIYS!
Hello!! This is a future, Leoichi, Western/Cowboy ROTTMNT au that takes place in Montana, USA. Loosely based on the song linked above. It is a fic on AO3 that is updated every Sunday night CST. Occasionally I will upload early :)
SYNOPSIS:
Yuichi Usagi, former samurai, recently relocated to Montana from the headache that was New York, looking for a fresh start. The clear skies and mountain air provides a lot of calm—and new opportunities, he discovers when he meets four turtle brothers down the street from his farm, each with their own captivating personality and kind souls. One in particular has started to make his heart pound a little faster, and yet he can’t shake this strange feeling that he knows him from somewhere…
Leonardo Hamato has lived in the same rural community almost his entire life. His family packed up and left the city when he was seventeen, and there isn’t much he remembers from the months leading up to their move. One thing he does know is that this handsome stranger is about to make his life much more interesting.
Donatello Hamato has been described as a gunslinger, a vigilante, a cold force of unstoppable nature. That’s certainly what he looks like to Yuichi, and the rabbit yokai can’t explain the man’s unwelcoming attitude towards him. But as Donnie begins to block him out of Leo’s life, taking down old pictures from the wall, silently conveying that some things are best stayed buried, well… something is definitely wrong here.
CHARACTER REF SHEETS:
Yuichi Leo Donnie Mikey Raph
TAG:
#Head Over Boots, mostly where I draw, write, and reblog other people’s cowboys :))
2058 (CW: death)
