I've not bought moldavite so I have no personal experience nor sellers to recommend, but with what I can find, I can try to give you enough information to make your own choices.
Archive of post.
Moldavite is a tektite found in a very particular area, mostly within the Czech Republic, but also in smaller areas in Germany and Austria. Most operating mines are found within the Czech Republic, however. Because of its rarity and geographic specificity, you cannot get by with relying on people listing just the country name or a general location. If they do not list the mine, do not buy it. MinDat has a list of all mines that have produced and are producing moldavite.
Here's some auction listings for moldavite so you can see what to look for in both raw and cut forms.
Moldavites are most commonly found as "splash-form" or teardrop shaped, but discs are also common. Muong-Nong type (layered and often tabular) moldavites' frequency is debated, but they are going to be exceedingly rare regardless. Real moldavites will never be identical to another specimen; this is the mark of a fake.
Moldavites are famous for their green colour, though this doesn't have to be the characteristic bottle-green. They can be more light green, to an olive oil colour, or possibly even brownish. Fakes are often more vibrant than genuine moldavite. Moldavite cannot be any other colour other than green or brownish-green; if you find moldavite that is not green, it is 100% fake. Fakes have been noted to look "wet" or glossy, while real moldavites will be more matte. Don't rely on this though, since fakes can also be made to look matte. The only time when real moldavite is glossy is if it has been fractured or cut. Glossiness can be hard to tell through images, so here are a few videos that demonstrate it better.
This video by Earth Science Fun is probably the best video about fake moldavites that I've seen made, as ESF walks you through several fake listings and points out what to look for in genuine and fake listings.
While moldavites can be over 40g in weight, the most commonly sold specimens will be below 10g, often smaller than 5g. And while these specimens are small, because of their rarity, are going to demand high prices. If a buyer is promising you something large for a cheap price, its not going to be genuine. Of course, price will also fluctuate on the quality of the moldavite (its colour and clarity), so you could probably get a bad quality specimen for cheap. I do want to mention that, because the supply is going down, the prices are going up. Here's a list of prices per gram that I've calculated using some moldavite listings I found:
138.27$/g (sale price: 98$/g)
225.90$/g (sale price: 75.30$/g)
30.00$/g
As I said in part six and seven, I would caution you against buying from any shop that puts emphasis on the metaphysical properties over the physical properties, as this often means a price hike. Moldavite, like all tektites, is already interesting and desirable on its own, and in my opinion, doesn't need spiritual fluff to make it any more valuable.
Considering how in-demand moldavite is, you have to be even more diligent in weeding out fakes. You'd probably have more luck finding it in offline rock auctions than online, though I wouldn't call it impossible.
And before I forget: don't buy from Heaven and Earth LLC. They got their start with selling moldavite, and while I cannot vouch for the quality of their moldavite, they are not a good business to support due to their lack of transparency on where stones were mined, trademarking of stones, and subsequent price hiking.
I wish you success in finding moldavite!

Buying Crystals - Common Fakes
Part 5 of 7 in a guide for buying crystals. Read the rest here!
We are finally at the wholly fake crystals! These crystals are either dupes of real ones, real crystals passed off as other crystals, or man-made crystals without a natural analogue. I'm excited to get into this because once you know what to look for, its hard to be scammed.
And to be clear, if you value any of these, either as collector's items or as spiritual tools, that's perfectly fine. My issue is when people try to pass off crystals (or not-crystals!) as something they're not.
Real Crystals Sold As Fakes
Howlite - A very common dupe for turquoise. Real turquoise is very expensive, so cheap turquoise is likely to be dyed howlite. This may also be called turquenite. Acetone removes dyes.¹ ⁶
Malachite - Genuine malachite is green to dark green (never stark black), the colours fade together softly, without uniform patterns, and often with circular patterning. Conversely, fake malachite, often made of resin, may have black, hard lines, and uniform patterning normally without circular patterns.²
Clear quartz - Clear quartz is often faked using glass. Real clear quarts will have some kind of inclusion, even if they’re not visible to the eye, and will NEVER have bubbles in it.³
Obsidian - There are many types of natural glass, such as obsidian and moldavite. Real obsidian is opaque, dense, and its colours range from black to brown. Many fake obsidians promise vibrant colours impossible for real obsidian to form as.⁴
Moldavite - Moldavite is incredibly rare due to not only being found in one location, but being exclusively formed by meteorite activity. Real moldavite will be mossy-coloured, while fakes may tend towards light green. White moldavite is not real; it is typically calcite.⁵⁻⁶
Moissanite - Natural moissanite is incredibly rare. Most on the market will be synthetics.⁶
Citrine - Citrine is heated amethyst, but most citrine on the market will be artificially heated and sold as natural. Natural citrine has a colour ranging from olive to lemonade, and will never be found on a geode. A telltale sign of artificial citrine is any sign of a parent geode, especially a bright white colour on the bottom of the crystal, as well as the crystal’s colour generally looking “crispy” or bright orange.⁹
Prasiolite - Green quartz is incredibly rare in nature, and thus, most found on the market will be heat treated amethyst of certain localities. Typically, natural prasiolite is light, translucent green, while darker varieties are treated.¹¹
Geodes - Geodes are typically made of quartz, but less commonly calcite, dolomite, aragonite, akerite, hematite, magnetitie, pyrite, chalcopyrite, and sphalerite.¹² Anything else is either incredibly rare or nonexistent. Many geodes may be dyed, modified, or sold as crystals they are not.¹³
Man-Made Crystals Without Natural Analogues
Glass (artificial) - There are many types of glass that are sold as natural crystals, such as goldstone (erroneously marketed as sunstone) and opalite (opal imitation, erroneously marketed as moonstone).¹⁰
Smelt quartz - Also known as cherry, blueberry, etc. quartz, are made of dyed glass.⁶
Slag - Slag is the byproduct of smelting. Names of commonly sold slags are: Fordite/Detroit agate, Sieber agate, andara crystal, rosarita, leklai, Frankfort green, and Leland blue.⁶⁻⁸
Cermikite - Also called alum crystal, these are commonly made in “grow your own crystal” kits. They are made of potassium aluminium sulphate.⁶
Chalcanthite - Synthetic crystal made of copper sulphate. Natural chalcanthite is incredibly rare and grows as fibrous crystals. This is a toxic crystal.⁶
Lopezite - Synthetic made of potassium dichomate. This is a toxic crystal.⁶
Cubic zirconia - Diamond imitation made of zirconium dioxide.⁶

I cannot list all possible fakes and dupes. However, I can point to a few sites.

Chile, it’s so hard to sit back and see all this ignorant shit that’s being spread about moldavite.
Moldavite is a natural glass. Not a crystal. It’s also not from outer space.
Moldavite is not a bad luck/chaos stone. I’ve seen several people online claim that they’ve gotten into accidents or had a loved one pass away because of moldavite. The only thing that caused those unfortunate events was LIFE. Don’t allow spirituality make y’all forget that life is unpredictable and it happens. No glass, stone, or crystal is going to cause that.
Not all genuine pieces will cost an arm and leg. It really all depends on the size and sometimes even the seller. I’ve come across genuine pieces that costs less than $100. That’s why it’s always important to shop around.
Don’t have any set expectations with moldavite. It affects EVERYONE differently.
Lastly, stop telling people that they are not ready for moldavite. That’s not your place because you don’t know how they would respond to it. As I stated before, it affects everyone differently. When it comes to spirituality, let people experience things on their own. How else are they going to find out what’s best for them?

• ᑤᑗᖇSᙍ & ᕼᙍ᙭ ᙘᖇᙍᗅᖽᐸᓿᘉᘜ •
ᛉ . ꍏ ꃅꍟ꒒ᖘꎇꀎ꒒ ꃅꍏꈤꀸ . ᛉ
Just the thought of a curse for some is enough to send the mind on a terrible tangent. I'm here today to tell you not to fear, because I'm bringing you an arsenal of curse and hex breaking tips and tools.
• So what is a Curse? •
A curse is defined as a negative energy attack put upon someone or something normally to cause harm, misfortune or to take something away from another. Sometimes practitioners of malevolent magick can place this upon you, or even someone with strong feelings, normally negative. Sometimes we can trick ourselves into thinking we have been cursed, which can cause curse symptoms in itself. I wrote this guide for the cursed and uncursed, so those can be aware of what they are, what they do and how to escape its grasp.
• All about Curses •
☠ Comes in many forms ☠
Curses come in all shapes and sizes. The entropy or chaos curse, The binding, The lesson, and The special-purpose curse. It can even come from jealousy or admiration and manifest as the Evil Eye curse.
☠ Timing is everything ☠
Curses in general can become effective immediately or may be dormant for years, and some curses laid on families have been known to have plagued them for generations. The problem is often not solved unless you discover you have been cursed!
☠ Keep your lips sealed ☠
The more personal information someone knows about you, the easier it will be for them to inflict harm upon you. Such things are your appearance, your full name, and your magickal name. It's best to keep quiet about these things around people you aren't so trusting of, or when meshing with other practitioners. Either way, it's always good to be safe!
☠ Is your foe a pro? ☠
If you are cursed, then it is most likely low-end magick practiced by an amateur. Professionals are generally doing more important things with their magick abilities. However, amateurs can have a lot of raw power even when they lack technique, their curses can still be very harmful and dangerous.
☠ Most distastefully bad juju ☠
When life starts feeling like a real life horror movie, you have a special-purpose curse and they can cause a great deal of disaster and havoc in your life. The evil eye curse is considered a special-purpose curse. You can wear a protective talisman called a Nazar that sheilds from the curse being put upon you.
☠ Avoid phony bologna ☠
Be very skeptical if a psychic tells you in a random reading that you have been cursed if you have not suspected yourself that anything has been going on. Some may even try to charge you fees to remove it for you. Be very wary especially if the reading was offered to you for free or very very cheap. That technique is called the bait and switch. If you think you are really cursed, I recommend that you get a second opinion or find a trusted practitioner.
☠ Purify and protect ☠
There are a couple of ways to deal with a curse. The first is to become an initiate of magick and learn to protect yourself. Sometimes other banishing rituals or protective spell workings are used to overpower the curse, protective amulets and talismans can be worn, and blessed oils and sacred washes can be used to attempt to lift the curse’s effect. A major side effect in removing a curse is that when the curse is broken, its energy can recoil on the person who cast it, and if the person has not taken the adequate precautions, it could very easily backfire.
☠ Seek Heavenly Help ☠
Call upon your spirit guides and ancestors for help and guidance. Family members can protect you from psychic harm from the beyond, but you must ask for the help yourself. Speak to them and let them know how you feel about that you need guidance. I also highly recommend decorating common objects around you such as pencils and lighters with angelic symbols, seals and runes, such as Algiz the rune for protection. This will give you the reassurance and extra protection you need during a crisis.
☠ Are there real remedies? ☠
You can find remedies for specific curses online. You don’t need to practice before you do this, but it is very important to follow all the instructions carefully and conscientiously. Remember to carry some form of protection with you such as a crystal, amulet or talisman or a charm, so you don’t end up being a curse victim in the first place!
• The Curse Cures •
Lets explore the different methods we can use to cure a curse...
☠ Anti-Curse Bath ☠
This is by far the easiest way to cure a curse, and that's by taking a bath using salt, oil and hex breaking herbs. It will remove the negative energy attached to you from the curse.
You can use uncrossing herbs and oils of your choosing and steeping them a while before entering the bath. Be careful to choose ingredients that won't irritate the skin. This is best done under a Waning Moon, but timing isn't essential if you are in a desperate situation. Repeat this as much as you feel is needed. This will only work if it is you who is cursed, and it isn't caused by an external object and if so, you could risk being re-cursed.
☠ Gather ☠
Hexbreaking herbs
White Candle
Incense
Oils (Olive or Essential)
Salt
Moon Water, Gem Elixirs (Optional)
The Cursed Person
🛠 Process 🛠
☠Gather Ingredients
☠Visualize a magick circle around you
☠Light your candle and incense
☠Begin to fill the tub, use moon water, gem elixirs, and steep your herbs
☠Add the oil and salt, imagine your bath becoming pure
☠You can make a purifying scrub for your skin using salt and olive oil as a mixture
☠Step in to the tub and cleanse your body thoroughly, imagining the energetic ties being removed as you wash them off
☠Enjoy the bath until it's too cold. Blow out the candles and incense, uncast your circle and dry off
☠ A Vessel for the Vile ☠
Curses can sometimes be drawn out into a vessel of some sort. Back then, animals were sometimes used as vessels and sacrificed afterward. Eggs for one, have been popular vessels for uncrossing in Italian, as well as African American traditions.
An egg is normally used as a vessel because it can be broken open to examine the contents to determine the results. You will need a person to help you with this, preferably someone experienced in magick.
☠ Gather ☠
A White Bowl
A White Candle
Incense
An Egg
Moon Water (or any water)
The Cursed Person
A Helper
🛠 Process 🛠
☠Gather Ingredients
☠Visualize a magick circle around you
☠Light your candle and incense
☠Get the cursed person to lay down on their back
☠Begin to pass the egg over their body, starting at the head moving in smooth downward motions, being careful not to swish the yolk
☠Say a prayer of the persons choosing. After saying the prayer, crack the egg open into a bowl of water and examine what you see...
☠Close the Circle. Discard the bowls contents at the base of a tree or at crossroads far away from the home of the victim. This process may need to be repeated several times to be effective, to "trap" the curse
☠ Get rid of that thing ☠
If you have a cursed object and you can find it, you should take it and bury it far away from you! If you can't manage to find it, you might be able to locate it using astral projection to follow the link to locate the object. A pendulum might be useful for this as well.
Don't hang onto cursed things, no matter how pretty. They will only make you suffer endless misfortune. Here's what you can do...
☠Take it far out into the country
☠Throw it in a river so it washes away
☠Destroy it, and dispose of the parts in running water
☠Burn and flush the ashes down, set them free in the wind or bury them far away
☠Use Astral travel to get to the object, or its astral double, and destroy it there. You may need to cast a binding spell to find out who cursed you. Cut the cords and free yourself from their ties
💣Don't rehome it 💣
Cursed objects should be destroyed and discarded, don't give these objects to people you love, you may be passing your misfortune on to them!
🌼 Try your best 🌼
You may not be able to try every method that I have mentioned here, as everyone has different skills. Certain curses may take more effort to get rid of than others. Uncrossing requires copious amounts of time, energy and materials and it can also be dangerous. Be sure to exercise caution and use protection when doing this work.
• Curse & Hex Breaking Ingredients •
Heres a list of ingredients I put together that you can use to break curses and hexes.
💣 Watch out! 💣
Please do your research before using them anywhere on or in your body, or even burning! Your safety comes first!

How to make your own chakra stone set
by Michelle Gruben
A chakra stone set is a small collection of gemstones, in which each stone corresponds to one of the body's subtle energy centers. You've probably seen them for sale in metaphysical shops and online.
Chakra stones are used in energy healing and meditation. Witches and Pagans may also use them for spellwork or divination. To the well-practiced crystal user, a chakra set is like a painter's palette. Handling the chakra stones allows the practitioner to focus on a particular vibration (or "colour" of energy), quickly accessing it to achieve his or her aims.
Making your own chakra set is an easy and fun exercise, even for crystal beginners. It's a way to create personalized tool for healing and contemplation. As you assemble your chakra set, you'll learn lots about the various stones and their energetic properties.
In this article, we'll look at how to put together your own set of chakra gemstones. We'll also share some instructions for getting your chakra stones ready to use.
The Colour Method
The concept of chakras, or psychic energy centers, originated in ancient India and is part of the discipline of Yoga. But Western magick workers have thoroughly adopted the chakra system, thanks in large part to New Age writers in the 1970s and 1980s. The most widely-read book on chakras is probably Wheels of Life, which has sold over 200,000 copies since it was published in 1987.
In New Age thought, there are usually seven chakras. Each chakra corresponds to a different color on the spectrum, with red at the base or Root Chakra, and violet (or white) at the top of the head. The colours represent different frequencies of vibration, from low to high. The idea of a "rainbow" of chakras has been so influential that it shows up in most modern writings on psychic energy.
Making Your Set
While not everyone agrees whether the colours of the chakras are literally true, the rainbow is indeed a handy metaphor for different types of energy. So we'll use the rainbow concept to help put together our bag of chakra stones. (Bonus: Choosing by color helps you remember which stone goes with which chakra.) We'll also stick with the usual seven chakra system—though you may feel free to adapt your kit to a system with more or fewer chakras.
One more note: For each chakra, I've included a list of suggested crystals or stones. Choose your favourite stone from each category, and end up with a chakra set that's truly unique.
Tumbled gemstones are the most popular for chakra kits, because they're relatively inexpensive and hold up the best to being handled. But crystals can be found in all sizes and shapes. Crystal spheres, wands, discs, pyramids, jewelry, uncut rough stones—any of these can be assembled into chakra sets.
I've tried to balance rare and expensive gemstones with ones that are readily available at most crystal shops. (A few stones appear in more than one list. Choose the attribution you feel is most appropriate.)

Associated with the colour Red, the Root Chakra sits at the base of the spine. It allows one to connect with Earth energy, and is strongly linked to instinct, survival, and the physical body. Many Root Chakra stones, like Red Jasper and Hematite, contain a high concentration of iron.
Just about any red or earth-coloured stone can represent the Root Chakra in your kit. Black gemstones—often associated with protection—are also suitable Root Chakra stones.
Suggested stones for the Root Chakra: Red Jasper, Hematite, Garnet, Black Tourmaline, Obsidian, Mahogany Obsidian, Ruby, Red Tiger's Eye.
Sacral Chakra
The Sacral Chakra is located near the navel, lower back, and sexual organs. Its color is Orange and it governs passion, pleasure, and creative force.
Since the Sacral Chakra rules appetites, look for stones in bright, mouth-watering colours and pleasing textures. Our favourite Sacral Chakra crystal has got to be Carnelian—a vibrant red-orange gem whose name means "fleshy."
Suggested stones for the Sacral Chakra: Carnelian, Amber, Pink Moonstone, Citrine, Orange Calcite, Sunstone, Gold Sandstone.
Solar Plexus Chakra
Located in the middle of the body (just below the rib cage) the Solar Plexus Chakra is the center of personal power. Strength, charisma, confidence, and willpower are attributes that it controls. It's linked to the colour Yellow. When shopping for Solar Plexus stones, look for a yellow-gold colour, and/or stones with sparkles and rays.
Suggested stones for the Sacral Chakra: Tiger's Eye, Citrine, Yellow Calcite, Ametrine, Rutilated Quartz, Yellow Aventurine, Yellow Jasper, Yellow Sapphire.
Heart Chakra
The Heart Chakra allows one to experience love, generosity and empathy. Its main functions are processing emotions and connecting with others' energy.
Green is the colour usually assigned to the Heart Chakra, and there are many, many green stones that are excellent for Heart Chakra work. But some stones on the list are pink or mixed colours. Not to worry. Remember: The earliest texts on pranic energy don't mention chakra colours, so it is likely that chakras of yogic and tantric traditions were colourless. Pick a stone that screams "heart energy" to you, regardless of the colour.
Suggested stones for the Heart Chakra: Green Aventurine, Jade, Emerald, Rose Quartz, Pink Sapphire, Peridot, Unakite, Green Calcite, Green Fluorite, Rhodonite, Malachite, Chrysocolla.
Throat Chakra
The Throat Chakra is linked to colour Blue, and it governs communication, self-expression, and truth. Situated between the head and the heart, it helps to mediate between thought and emotion. It's no big surprise that most of the stones on this list are in shades of blue.
Suggested stones for the Throat Chakra: Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli, Blue Kyanite, Blue Tiger's Eye, Blue Goldstone, Amazonite, Turquoise, Blue Apatite.
Brow Chakra
Also called the "third eye," the Brow Chakra is located just above the eyes, between the eyebrows. Its color is Purple, and visualization, dreaming, and intuition are some of its functions. Working with the Brow Chakra helps to awaken psychic gifts (and perception in general).
When choosing crystals that vibrate with the Brow Chakra, deep blue or violet stones are recommended. Stones with iridescence or moving patterns are also very stimulating to the light-sensitive third eye.
Suggested gemstones for the Brow Chakra: Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, Purple (or Rainbow) Fluorite, Shungite, Labradorite, Moonstone, Opal, Kyanite.
Crown Chakra
Located just above the head, the Crown Chakra is the body's link with celestial and/or Divine energy. Just as White combines all the colours of the rainbow, a fully-functioning Crown Chakra blends all of body's diverse energies into a unified being.
Crown Chakra gemstones tend to be clear or white in colour. They are though to be the stones with the highest and purest vibrations.
Suggested gemstones for the Crown Chakra: Clear Quartz, White Moonstone, Opalite, Selenite, Angelite, White Sapphire, Apophylite, Milky Quartz, Celestite, Moldavite.
Putting it all together
Pretty soon, you should have collected seven (or five or nine or ten) stones to go in your chakra set.
If one of the stones doesn't feel right, or doesn't appear to be playing nice with the others, then kick it to the curb. (I mean, gratefully place it somewhere to be re-purposed.) Keep shuffling rocks around until you have a set that represents the chakras to you.
Next, you'll want a home for your stones. A dedicated bag or box keeps the set from accumulating physical and psychic dust when not in use.
Depending on what stones you've picked out, some of them may need to be stored separately from the rest. Softer materials can pick up dings and scratches from their pokier neighbors. Selenite and Fluorite, for instance, are fragile divas. To avoid the problem, choose gems that are close on the Mohs scale. Or, work out a way to keep them in separate bags or compartments.
Finally, as with any magickal tool, it's a good idea to cleanse and bless your chakra stones. Use your favourite crystal cleansing method. There are several effective methods: Smudging, sunlight or moonlight, water (if it won't harm the stones you've chosen), other crystals, visualization, and breath. Set your intention that these stones will be your partner on your journey of learning and healing.
Attuning chakra stones
If you like, you can follow the cleansing process with an attunement exercise. This is definitely recommend if you've made the chakra set for your own personal practice. Basically, attuning your stones allows each one to get acquainted with the energy center it's going to represent.
To attune your chakra set, dim the lights, light some candles or incense--whatever helps you get into a meditative state. Take a few deep breaths and let go of any energy build-ups or distracting thoughts.
Starting with your Root Chakra stone, place each stone in turn over the chakra that it corresponds to. You will be adding the stones one by one, until you're "wearing" all of them. (Unless you have a lot of hands, the easiest way to do this is lying on your back.)
You can use a diagram of the chakras to help you place the stones—but remember chakras can be in slightly different places on different individuals. You will know the first stone is placed correctly by its feel. Some people experience the feeling as equilibrium, or heaviness, or a light tingling vibration. I like to describe it has a ball settling into a hole in the ground—once it's in the right place, it tends to stay comfortably settled.
Once the stone is placed on the chakra, gather some of the energy in that chakra and send a little pulse outward. This is similar to directing energy with your hands, but the energy starts in and exits directly from the chakra center. It may take the form of a beam, or a ball, or small petals of energy reaching outward.
Wait for a reply. You may feel the stone either absorbing the energy or reflecting it back to you (or a little of both, or nothing at all.) Take another breath, and try it again. Let the stone and the energy of your body "talk" until they feel as if they are in harmony. Do this until the stone can't possibly accept any more energy, or you sense that the dialogue has stopped.
Leaving the Root Chakra stone in place if possible, move on to the Sacral Chakra. Repeat the stone-charging process. Though you will be focusing on attuning only one stone at a time, you will have a gentle awareness of all the tones you have charged so far. Remove the stones in the reverse order, starting with the Crown Chakra and working down to the Root Chakra.
To check your work, put the chakra stones in a bag or on a table and gently run your receptive hand over them. Do you feel a difference in energy between the stones? Some may feel warmer or cooler than the others, or appear to vibrate faster or slower. (That's good!) If you did an exceptional job of attuning the stones to your body, you may even feel sensation in one of your chakras when holding the matching stone.
Your chakra set is now ready for energetic healing, divination, and meditating on the chakras. Chakra stones may need to be cleansed and re-attuned periodically to keep them working their best.
