Writing Notes: Herbal Remedies
References (Capsules & Powders; Compresses & Lotions; Creams; Decoctions; Infused Oils; Infusions; Ointments; Poultices; Syrups; Tinctures; Tonic Wines; Other Preparations)
CAPSULES & POWDERS
Powdered herbs are most easily taken as capsules but can be sprinkled on food or taken with water.
Externally, they can be applied as a dusting powder to the skin or mixed with tinctures as a poultice.
COMPRESSES & LOTIONS
Lotions are water-based herbal preparations such as infusions, decoctions, or diluted tinctures that are used to bathe inflamed or irritated skin.
Compresses are cloths soaked in a lotion and held against the skin.
Both are simple ways to use herbs externally and can be very effective in relieving swelling, bruising, and pain, soothing inflammation and headaches, and cooling fevers.
CREAMS
Making a cream involves combining oil or fat and water in an emulsion. If the process is rushed, the oil and water may separate.
Unlike ointments, creams blend with the skin and have the advantage of being cooling and soothing while at the same time allowing the skin to breathe and sweat naturally.
They can, however, deteriorate quite quickly and are best stored in dark, airtight jars in a refrigerator.
DECOCTIONS
Roots, bark, twigs, and berries usually require a more forceful treatment than leaves or flowers to extract their medicinal constituents. A decoction involves simmering these tougher parts in boiling water.
Fresh or dried plant material may be used and should be cut or broken into small pieces before decocting. Like infusions, decoctions can be taken hot or cold.
INFUSED OILS
Infusing an herb in oil allows its active, fat-soluble ingredients to be extracted; hot infused oils are simmered, while cold infused oils are heated naturally by the sun.
Both types of oil can be used externally as massage oils or added to creams and ointments.
Infused oil should not be confused with essential oil, which is an active constituent naturally present in a plant and has specific medicinal properties and a distinct aroma.
Essential oil may be added to an infused oil to increase its medicinal efficacy
INFUSIONS
An infusion is the simplest way to prepare the more delicate aerial parts of plants, especially leaves and flowers, for use as a medicine or as a revitalizing or relaxing drink.
It is made in a similar way to tea, using either a single herb or a combination of herbs, and may be drunk hot or cold.
OINTMENTS
Ointments contain oils or fats heated with herbs and, unlike creams, contain no water. As a result, ointments form a separate layer on the surface of the skin.
They protect against injury or inflammation of damaged skin and carry active medicinal constituents, such as essential oils, to the affected area.
Useful in conditions such as hemorrhoids or where protection is needed from moisture, as in chapped lips and diaper rash.
POULTICES
A poultice is a mixture of fresh, dried, or powdered herbs that is applied to an affected area.
Used to ease nerve or muscle pains, sprains, or broken bones, and to draw pus from infected wounds, ulcers, or boils.
SYRUPS
Honey and unrefined sugar are effective preservatives.
Can be combined with infusions or decoctions to make syrups and cordials.
They have the additional benefit of having a soothing action, and therefore make a perfect vehicle for cough mixtures as well as relieving sore throats.
With their sweet taste, syrups can disguise the taste of unpalatable herbs and are therefore greatly appreciated by children.
TINCTURES
Tinctures are made by soaking an herb in alcohol. This encourages the active plant constituents to dissolve, giving tinctures a relatively stronger action than infusions or decoctions.
They are convenient to use and last up to 2 years.
Tinctures can be made using a jug and a jelly bag, instead of a wine press. Although mainly used in European, American, and Australian herbal medicine, tinctures play a part in most herbal traditions.
TONIC WINES
Tonic wines are an agreeable way to take strengthening and tonic herbs to increase vitality and improve digestion.
Neither strictly medicinal, nor simply appealing to the palate, they are easy to prepare at home.
Made by steeping tonic herbs in red or white wine for several weeks.
OTHER PREPARATIONS
Steam Inhalations
Steam inhalations are an effective way to clear congestion and relieve sinusitis, hay fever, and bronchial asthma.
The combination of steam and antiseptic ingredients clears the airways throughout the respiratory system.
Gargles & Mouthwashes
Gargles and mouthwashes usually contain astringent herbs, which tighten the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.
As gargles and mouthwashes are made from infusions, decoctions, or diluted tinctures, they can generally be swallowed for internal treatment. Ensure you do not exceed the daily internal dose of an herb.
Pessaries & Suppositories
Pessaries and suppositories are waxy pellets containing essential oil or fine powder.
They are used when oral medicine is likely to be broken down during digestion before reaching its intended site.
Pessaries are inserted into the vagina and suppositories into the anus, where they melt at body temperature.
The herb is quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, providing fast relief. It is best to buy ready-made suppositories.
Essential Oils
Essential oils can be used in massage to soothe minor aches and pains.
Before use, they should be diluted with a carrier oil as they can irritate the skin.
Essential oils deteriorate rapidly after dilution, so it is best to mix small quantities as you need them.
Baths & Skin Washes
Herbal baths and skin washes can relieve many conditions, including aching limbs and stuffy sinuses.
They are made from diluted essential oils or infusions.
Eyebaths soothe sore, inflamed, or irritated eyes.
Cold Macerations
Heat destroys the active constituents of some herbs.
Thus, a cold maceration might be more appropriate than a decoction.
Juices
The juices extracted from many herbs.
Can be taken internally or applied externally.

Since wonwoo is talkative when hes sick, maybe a little fluffy fluff about sick whiny pouty wonwoo wants his business woman gf to take care of him and put all of her attention on him would be good in this winter vibe
love and tissues | jeon wonwoo
fluff,w.c:0.4k
Wonwoo was often quiet, but that rarely meant that something was wrong, on the contrary, Wonwoo had the odd habit of being the complete opposite when he was sick.
Wonwoo had caught a nasty cold, leaving him feeling sick, whiny, and incredibly needy.
Meanwhile, you, his ever so busy girlfriend, was at work juggling meetings and deadlines.
But as soon as you received Wonwoo's distressed messages, urging you to please come home, your heart sank a little.
So you did your best to wrap up everything you had to do today in the office as soon as possible and headed straight home.
When you got inside of your shared apartment, you found Wonwoo curled up on the couch, hiding under a pile of fluffy blankets, surrounded by tissues and cough syrup. Upon hearing you step inside the room, he looked up at you with pleading puppy-dog eyes, and he began whining for you attention :
"Y/N, I don't feel well at all," Wonwoo moaned, his voice raspy from coughing. "I need you to take care of me, please." he pleaded.
Of course, you couldn't resist him, despite knowing you still had some work waiting for you, you indulged into his need for you. With a soft sigh, you set aside your bag and sat beside him, placing a hand on his forehead gently to check his temperature.
"You poor thing," you cooed, brushing his hair away from his face, a pout aparent on his lips, "Don't worry, Wonwoo. I'm here for you." you reassured lovingly.
You were ready to drop everything for your needy boyfriend so you went to the kitchen and brewed him some herbal tea, prepared his favorite foods, gave him some medicine, and even fed him yourself after hearing him whine about how he couldn't take his hands out from under the blankets because of how cold he was despite the fever.
But Wonwoo's neediness seemed to know no bounds tonight as he bombarded you with a constant stream of chatter even though his throat kept on going dry every 5 minutes. But it was nothing the tea you had prepared him could fixed, he said. So he talked about nothing and everything, still demanding your undivided attention.
Despite the overwhelming workload waiting for you, you found yourself drawn into Wonwoo's world. You laughed at his jokes, listened to his stories, and cherished this moment spent together.
As the evening wore on, Wonwoo's state began to improve, thanks to your tender care and attention. And although your were exhausted from the day's events, you couldn't help but feel a warm glow of satisfaction knowing that you had been there for your lover when he needed you.
As you guys were cuddled up on the couch, Wonwoo drifted off to sleep with a contented smile on his face, and one thing was clear : you didn't regret putting work aside for him one bit.

Savanaclaw: When They're Sick
This one was fun to write, even if I was brain dead while writing the last half of Ruggie and all of Jackās. I should be going to bed since Iām doing this after work, but the want to write is strong today.
Disclaimer: All characters in this series are aged up. For more information about my version of this world and the type of reader you can expect, please click the āAu Informationā below!

Savanaclaw: When Theyāre Sick
Something that Beastmen didnāt talk about was their cold season. Illnesses affected the different racesā¦well differently. For beastmen it meant they were significantly weaker; youād think they were on deathās door. Even getting out of bed to take care of their needs was taxing. It was like the man flu but made ten times worse. Any prideful beastman refuses to acknowledge this shortcoming of their race, but it was undeniable. The moment one beastman got sick, the others stayed far away so they didnāt suffer the same fate.
Leona Kingscholar
Leona is both the easiest and hardest person to take care of while sick. The good news is he goes by the theory that he can just sleep it all off and will take that route. Still, he needs medicine and food, and when heās too weak to leave the bed, heās calling on Ruggie to help him out. Bad news is Ruggie is also sick and can barely get out of bed, so he was planning on just suffering for a few days until he could venture out and get what he needed.
That was when Leona had a wonderful idea and contacted you. In his mind, you still owed him big time for that time he let you stay in his room, and you were about to repay a part of that debt today. So donāt be surprised when youāre called to his room and heās treating you like one of the servants. Put the sick lion in his place and inform him that youāre not a servant and, although youļæ½ļæ½ll take care of him, if he continues to treat you like one youāre dropping food and medicine by his bed and leaving. He gets the memo and is feeling far too crummy to even argue with you.
Now Leona hates medicine with a burning passion. The artificial sweetness in cough syrups and the herbal qualities of everything else was gag inducing. Youāre going to have to figure out a game plan to force it into his mouth so heāll get better, because he downright refuses to let it get close to him. Sneaking it into his food is also a no-go since he can smell it. So have fun wrestling a lion to get him to take his meds. Thankfully heās weaker than normal so itās a lot easier than youād think.
Leona is picky when it comes to what heās eating while sick. Heās going to be wanting something with a lot of meat in it in order to get some of his energy back. A good meat stew is your best bet, and youāll have to cut the vegetables to be so fine he canāt pick them out. He needs them, he knows this, but theyāre still gross and he hates that youād serve him a dish with it in there.
The moment Leona is better heās shooing you away. He no longer needs you and therefore you can get out of his dorm. Waitā¦you want him to thank you? Please, you were simply repaying a debt that you owed him. Heāll thank you if thatās what it takes for you to get out of his fur. He might even lean his head on yours while he says it before ushering you towards the door so he can be left alone and sulk about how weak he was in front of someone. His ego is gonna be needing some recovery after the Ramshackle prefect won a wrestling match and forced him to take medicine.
Ruggie Bucchi
Ruggie is another person who normally will just suffer in silence when heās sick. Everyone in the dorm realizes that heās ill and stays far away so they donāt catch it, so itās easier than youād think. He just isolates himself as he gets better, occasionally managing to drag himself out of bed in order to grab a drink or use the restroom. Making food was out of the question though, so he just accepts the fact that his stomach is going to be growling until heās better.
Literally the moment you hear that Ruggie is sick, you should be going to help. The poor boy is probably in the fetal position on his bed, hating life right now. His fever will be so high he doesnāt even know whatās going on around him since heās absolute dog shit at taking care of himself. Heās normally the one who takes care of others so when heās sick he just hopes for the best. Thankfully there wonāt be much arguing when you begin helping him. Again, his fever is so high he might think youāre a hallucination.
Ruggie will take medication no problem for the most part, mainly because heās not even going to know what youāre handing him until itās already in his mouth. He is going to be complaining about the foul taste and asking for some water afterwards, but at least he didnāt spit it right out. He might comment that you betrayed his trust by giving him something gross, but heāll forget about it in ten minutes if the fever has anything to say about it.
He is going to devour anything you bring him. Honestly he probably hasnāt eaten anything all day, or since he got sick, so heās starving. He probably wonāt be tasting anything either, just happy to have something in his stomach. He might get a bit teary eyed as he thanks you for the food. It doesnāt matter if you made it or bought something at Samās to microwave, food is food and heās been wanting some for a while now.
Ruggie will be suspicious for a while after heās better, wondering what the ulterior motive for helping him out was. Heās not used to people just taking care of him because they care. Clearly youāre after somethingā¦right? Heās broke, so you canāt have his money. Reassuring him that he doesnāt owe you anything wonāt help the situation; even if he adores you he simply doesnāt believe youād put yourself through that for no reason. Just tell him he can help you next time youāre sick and you can call it even.
Jack Howl
Jack honestly doesnāt get sick all too often; he takes care of himself and works out, so his immune system is something to be admired. That doesnāt mean he doesnāt get sick, and when it does it hits him harder than most. He normally self-isolates so he can get better. Heāll drag himself out to get food and take care of himself since he knows itās important, but heās going to be pushing his limits by doing these simple tasks.
Originally heās going to try and push you away the moment you offer, worried that he might end up getting you sick. Once you reassure him that youāll be fine, he gives in. Heās too weak to put up much of an argument anyway, so might as well just roll with the punches. Heās going to try and make things as easy as possible for you and not ask for much; heāll mainly be asleep for most of it.
Thankfully Jack has no issues with taking medication. In fact, he doesnāt even see them as being disgusting. Heās taken green shots pre-workout before and those are nasty. Heāll down any medication you give him and youāll have his full trust to not poison him. The main thing is the smell, if itās too artificial smelling heās going to be hating the scent of it.
Heās not picky when sick, in fact he can barely taste anything you bring him. As long as itās healthy heāll be satisfied. Heāll be asking if you want to sit down and eat with him, feeling awkward if you just stare at him. Meals shared together taste better anyway, so might as well do it. Besides, if you see his tail wagging behind him when you accept the suggestion, youāll know heās well on his way to getting better.
Heāll be following you around like a lost puppy once heās all better. Heās thankful for what you did and feels bad for the trouble heās caused, so heās going to make sure nothing troubles you for a while. Expect him to open doors for you and carry your books. Just let him do it, itās his own way of thanking you for spending those few days while he felt dead.

Male Goblin/Female Reader SFW Wordcount: 3,127 CommissionsĀ |Ā Ko-fiĀ |Ā Masterlist
Ayo accidentally takes a potion meant for somebody else. It has unintended consequences, but it's not entirely terrible.
The summer morning greeted you with a gentle breeze across your face through the open window, the sun casting a warm, golden glow over the shelves and jars of your apothecary. Today held the silent promise of goodness, the kind that made your heart light as you prepared to open shop.
With care, you began to sort through the commissioned potions for your clients; they ranged from simple herbal remedies to much more complex spells. The rhythm of sorting through the various jars was soothing, it was always your favourite part of the day.
Among them lay a potion due the next day, its contents shimmering with a rosy pink that caught the light just so. It was meant to grant poise and charm, just a little boost for a man who needed some confidence on a first date.
As the morning bustled on, the door creaked open to admit a new customer. A small goblin stepped over the threshold, a little hesitantly, as if unsure of the welcome he would receive.
You took in his appearance: mossy green skin dappled with little freckles, golden piercings glinting in his ears. He had his lip and eyebrow pierced too, decorated with little amethyst gems.
Despite his obvious shyness as he shuffled in, there was something about him that piqued your interestāan allure that you hadn't felt for a goblin before.
"I need some herbal remedies for a cough.ā His voice was soft, almost tentative. "For my sister," he added quickly, as if eager to explain his presence.
As you nodded and turned to fetch the requested herbs; you could sense his eyes following you, a silent observer still. There was a gentleness to his demeanour that went against the ruggedness of his leather armour, which spoke of a life of survivalā¦ and solitude.
"You don't look like you come into town often," you ventured, hoping to coax him into conversation as you carefully selected the best herbs for a cough.
His chuckle was a quiet, nervous thing, but his grey eyes softened as you turned around to offer a smile. "Not much, no. The forest is more my home," he admitted, his gaze drifting towards the various bottles and ingredients lining your shop.
"Couldn't you find these herbs in the forest?" you inquired. "Most of what's here comes from the forest anyway."
He shifted his weight, a small smile creeping onto his face. "I'd rather trust someone who knows what they're doing," he confessed with a self-deprecating shrug. "I might end up picking the wrong thing. Poisoning myself wouldn't be too smart."
His admission brought a soft laugh from you as you placed a bottle of cough syrup alongside the bundled herbs on the counter. "Well, you're safe with these," you reassured him, meeting his gaze with a friendly smile. "Is there anything else you need?"
You noticed then, a subtle tenseness in his posture, the way his fingers tapped an unsteady rhythm on his armoured thigh. It seemed like eagerness, perhaps an anxiety to return to the familiarity of the forest. "No, that's all, thank you," he said, his voice carrying a hint of relief.
As he handed over the payment, his hand lingered for just a fraction longer than necessary, leaving behind a tip that was more generous than usual. With a quick, nervous nod, he gathered his purchase and hurried out, the door closing behind him with a gentle jingle.
There was something intriguing about him, a pull that was unfamiliar as he vanished past the window. Your heart sank a little as you realized that in the rush of the transaction, you'd never asked his name.
Turning back to the potions on the counter, you hoped for another chance to see the goblin again, to learn more about him. That's when you noticed the gap where the emboldening potion had been. Your eyes widened in realization. Could he have taken it by mistake? Orā¦ he had left so suddenly. Had he stolen it?
Without a second thought, you dashed to the door, flinging it open with the hope of catching him. You scanned the street for any sign of the goblin's mossy green skin or the glint of his piercings. He was nowhere to be seen. For someone of such small stature, he was surprisingly quick, or perhaps the forest had taught him how to disappear so quickly.
Frustration bubbled inside you. That potion was potent ā strong enough for the troll it was intended for, not a goblin half his size. You bit your lip, mind racingā¦ and concluded that all you could do was make another for your customer. You hoped the strange goblin would be all right.
You resigned yourself to getting back to work, letting the steady flow of tasks and customers occupy your mind, pushing aside the nagging worry about the misplaced potion. Potions were brewed, advice was given, and remedies were handed out with the same care and attention you always provided.
As the day wound down and the last rays of the sun dipped below the horizon, you began the familiar routine of closing up. Just as you were about to turn the sign to closed, the door creaked open, the bell chiming one final time.
"We're closed, I'm afraid," you called out, not looking up as you continued to tidy the counter.
"Oh, Iāll just be a second," came a familiar voice, but there was a lilt to it now, a smoothness that hadn't been there before.Ā
You paused and turned, your gaze landing on the goblin who'd entered your apothecary just hours earlier.
Gone was the shy man youād seen this morning. In place of his hunter's leathers, he wore a simple black tunic that did nothing to hide the confidence in his stance. His smile was easy, his greyish-black eyes held a glint of mischief, and he moved with a fluid grace that seemed enhanced, almost exaggerated.
"I don't think I properly introduced myself earlier," he continued with a smile. āIām Ayo. You are..?ā His voice was a little too loud in the quiet shop, his smile a little too wide.
It clicked thenāthe emboldening potion. He must have taken it.
"Ayo," you repeated, allowing his name to settle in your mind. "You took the potion, didn't you? The one I had on the counter?"
His grin widened, not an ounce of remorse in his expression. "Did I? Well, that explains a lot. I thought it was a freebie. I quite like the effect."
You couldn't help but muffle a laugh despite the seriousness of the situation. āNot much to do except wait it out, Iām afraid,ā you said, pursing your lips to keep from smiling. āIt shouldnāt last more than six or so hoursā¦ though it was made strong enough for a troll.ā
Ayo's confident facade faltered just a bit, the suggestion that this new version of himself was only temporary dimming the brightness of his smile. "Wait it out ā but I'm starting to enjoy this new me.ā
"Why don't you wait it out here?" you suggested, brows furrowed. "Just so I can keep an eye on any unintended side effects."
Ayo arched a playful eyebrow, considering the offer. "I don't know," he teased.. "I wouldn't want to imposeāunless, of course, it means spending time with someone as enchanting as yourself."
There it was, the charm dialed up to its fullest, making it hard not to be swept away by the easy compliments. Yet, you caught yourself, a gentle reminder in the back of your mind that Ayo wasn't entirely himself. His bravado was just a side effect, not a true reflection of his feelings.
Finally, with a slight push from your rational side, Ayo nodded, conceding. "Alright, perhaps staying here isn't such a bad idea. I wouldn't mind getting to know you better, under the circumstances."
You couldn't help but smile, even as you reined in the flutter in your chest. "I'll make some tea, then," you said, moving towards the small side room that served as a makeshift lounge for quiet moments like these.
Once you had brewed a calming chamomile tea, you handed Ayo a steaming mug and directed him to the sofa, plush and inviting in the cosy room. He settled in, the potion's effects making him appear more at ease, more at home than he probably should have felt.
You curled up in the armchair opposite him, tucking your legs beneath you. The room was comfortable, the air filled with the soothing scent of the tea, creating a peaceful bubble away from the world outside.
"So, tell me," he said, gesturing to the room as a whole. He had chosen to sit next to a collection of potted plants, so large that their leaves spilled halfway onto the arm of the sofa. āWhat's it like being an apothecary? Must be a fascinating job, mixing potions and all that."
You grinned. "It is," you replied. "There's a certain magic in helping others, even if it's just with a simple remedy for the common cold."
Ayo listened, his gaze lingering on you with an intensity that left your skin hot. "I bet," he said with a grin. He had pointed teeth, you noticed, with delicate carvings.
The intensity of his stare made you shiver. To distract yourself, you downed your tea and stood to press a cool hand to Ayoās forehead. āNo fever,ā you concluded. āThatās good. Do you feel unwell at all? Too warm or too cold?ā
Ayo shrugged. āNo. Actually, I feel better than I have in a long time.ā
You hummed in agreement, leaning over to grab a piece of aloe vera from one of the pots beside Ayo. Except in your closeness, Ayoās warm breath against your skin felt amplified. He leaned up, dark eyes glinting, close enough to kiss.
Your heart raced, a part of you tempted to close the distance; but with a gentle firmness, you turned your face away, evading his advance. "Ayo, I can't," you said softly, yet firmly. "I won't take advantage of you."
āItās hardly taking advantage, love.ā
The pet name made your knees weak, and you bit your lip to keep from saying something stupid. Instead, you said, āif you still feel this way after the potion has worn off, then maybe Iāll considerā¦ a date. If youād like. Only once the potion has worn off.ā
The look of disappointment that briefly crossed Ayo's face was unmistakable, yet he recovered quickly, his confidence unshaken. "Fair enough," he conceded with a rakish grin. "When this wears off, I'll take you up on that date."
āGood,ā you replied with a grin. Settling back into the armchair, you drew a blanket over your knees, the soft fabric a small comfort against the evening's chill.
Ayo's gaze lingered, but he made no move to breach the distance you'd established. You were quietly grateful that at least the potion hadnāt completely ruined his inhibitions.
"At least the potion hasn't completely obliterated your sense of propriety," you quipped, sinking deeper into the blanket.
Ayo's laughter echoed in the little room. "Yeah, well, you say thatā¦ but itās taking my entire self control to stay over here," he responded with a shrug and a smirk.
Flushing, you scrambled to grab the empty teacups. Mostly just to give yourself something to do other than flounder, you asked, āmore tea?ā Before he could answer, you were on your feet and scrambling to the little kitchen area next door.Ā
As the kettle boiled on the stovetop, you poked your head back into the sitting area. Glancing at Ayo, who seemed content on the sofa, an idea took root.Ā
"Would you mind staying the night?" you asked, despite the little voice in your mind arguing otherwise. "It's late, and I'd like to keep an eye on you, just in case the potion decides to throw us any more curveballs."
Ayo's agreement was immediate, his nod accompanied by a grateful smile. "Sure, I can stay. Tomorrow, we could go on a breakfast date.ā
You hummed. āIf youāre back to normal by morning.ā
Deciding that the flat above the shop would offer a more comfortable place for Ayo to spend the night, you led the way upstairs, gathering blankets and a pillow to make up a makeshift bed on the sofa.
As you finished arranging everything and turned to bid Ayo goodnight, he caught you by surprise by standing on his toes and meeting your lips in a kiss. The initial shock had you stiffening, ready to pull away, but Ayo's whispered confession stopped you.
āI couldnāt resist,ā he murmured against your lips. His breath tasted of chamomile tea and something you couldnāt place. Something sweet.
You knew you should have resisted, pushed him away, but you couldnāt. Not when he was looking at you with such big, hopeful eyes, that confident smile still playing on his lips. And oh, those teeth!
Screw it, you thought. It was time that you threw caution to the wind. Without giving yourself time to doubt, you bent down and kissed him again.Ā
Ayo's lips were soft against yours, the kiss carrying a warmth that seemed to spread through you, chasing away the remnants of the day's fatigue.Ā
When you finally parted, there was a softness in Ayo's gaze, a look that made your legs weak. With a smile that held more affection than you intended, you whispered, "Goodnight, Ayo."
He blew you a kiss as you retreated from the living room. You waved back, hoping that tomorrow, Ayo wouldnāt regret this.
***
The morning light had just begun to creep through the curtains when you decided to check on Ayo, curious to see how he was faring after a night under the influence of the emboldening potion. Quietly, you made your way to the living space, expecting to find him still asleep on the sofa.
Instead, Ayo was up, in the midst of lacing his boots, a look of concentration on his face. The moment he noticed you, his movements halted, and a flush of embarrassment coloured his green cheeks. It was clear he hadn't intended to be found awake, let alone preparing to leave.
"I, uh, was trying to sneak out," Ayo confessed, his voice laced with a mix of sheepishness and something deeper, more sincere. "Didn't want to wake you."
The admission stung.Ā
Your expression must have betrayed your feelings, because Ayo quickly added, "Not because I regret anything from last night! It's just... that wasn't me. I mean, it was me, but not me. I'm not usually that bold, and I didn't want you to see me this morning and be... disappointed."
"You don't have to sneak away," you said gently, stepping closer, the hurt beginning to ebb away as understanding took its place. "I'd rather know the real you, anyway. Boldness isn't the only thing that's attractive, you know."
Ayo's gaze lifted to meet yours, a hint of surprise flickering in his dark eyes. You noticed him fidgeting slightly, a stark contrast to the smooth assurance he'd displayed yesterday.
Sensing his unease, you took a seat beside him on the sofa, aiming to bridge the distance not just physically, but emotionally as well. "About that breakfast date," you began, watching his reaction closely. "Is that still on the table?"
The effort Ayo made to temper his enthusiasm was almost endearing; the corners of his mouth twitched upwards, betraying his excitement despite his best attempts to remain composed. "If you're still interested, yeah," he said quickly. Too quickly. It was sweet.
In response, you reached out and took his hand. Leaning forward, you placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. His skin was rough and warm.Ā
"I'd like to go," you said. "For what it's worth, I'm interested in getting to know the real Ayo, not just the version the potion showed me."
Ayo's enthusiasm was infectious, his smile making your stomach flip. "I can't wait," he blurted out, then quickly added, "Sorry, I don't mean to seem overeager."
You couldn't help but laugh. Not at him, of course, never at him. "It's okay," you assured him. "I'm excited too"
The idea of a breakfast date now hung in the air, a tempting prospect. Yet, Ayo, ever mindful of his responsibilities, hesitated. "I should probably check in on my sister first, let her know where I've been... and explain my unexpected absence."
With a nod of understanding, you stood up, closing the distance between you with a few short steps. Leaning down, you pressed a soft kiss to his cheek. He was so much shorter than you, but you didnāt mind one bit.
"Meet me back here in an hour, then?" you suggested.
Ayo's smile was all the answer you needed. "I'll be here," he promised.
āGood.ā
WIth one final kiss, you let him go. Last night had beenā¦ interesting; but you had the feeling that today would be even better.

š haii im not sure if your requests are open but i got sick and now all i can think of is that one meme where its "save me white woman...." but instead of white woman its norman bates and so i was wondering if you could do some hcs for normab with a sick s/o??? pwease and thank you ššš·
Norman heard you cough and his usual jovial smile fell. Norman doesnāt like seeing you suffer, so of course he was worried and concerned for your health.
He insisted you stayed in your room and brought you soup and everything he thought made sure you drank water.
Normanās nurturing side came out in full force when he found out that you were sick. He took it upon himself to make sure you are comfortable, bringing you blankets, syrups, cough drops...
He also went to great lengths to find the best remedies. Whether it was making homemade chicken soup or searching for herbal teas, he wanted to ensure you were well taken care of. Heād sit beside you, perhaps reading a book or quietly watching a movie with you, just to be near in case you need anything. Heād even cuddle you at night.
He might not be the most eloquent when it comes to expressing emotions, but Norman will offer gentle reassurances.
"It will be okay, my darling. Ssh. Trust me."
If he suspected you might be catching something, heāll be proactive, urging you to rest and take care of yourself. Heād be cautious about any germs around the house and go full housemaid to clean everything.
His protective instincts can lean toward the obsessive. Norman may overanalyze your symptoms, leading to a few anxious moments where he would worry excessively about your health.
To lift your spirits, heād bring in your favorite movies or games, trying to engage you in light activities that do not require much effort, hoping to distract you from your discomfort. Despite his complexities, Norman would show affection through soft touchesāstroking your hair or holding your handāas a way to provide comfort and support.
Norman would also wake up during the night to check on you if he is not sleeping in your room, ensuring you have everything you need, that you are not having a nightmare and are resting peacefully.
If he has to leave the house for any reason, he would be visibly anxious and might call to check in frequently, just to make sure you are okay.
Norman *calls you* : "Hello, my darling. How are you feeling ? Better ? Did the medicine work ?"

I had the opportunity to try Gillian's g-spot drinks while I was in England and so I did.
I promised myself that I would go into it unbiased and judge it fairly. Disclaimer: We all like different things! Me reviewing the flavors is just how I see (read: taste) them. My control group was my friend who tried each flavor as well.
Read my thoughts under the cut!
All three beverages are based on sparkling water and apple juice. Each has a different blend of herbal extracts. Now, I'm no expert, but for the most part, those other ingredients are used in very small doses. So really, in order for the nootropics and adaptogens to have any effect, you would have to drink more than one or two cans per day - and over a longer period as well.
The brand says that they "lie somewhere between a purist health drink that claims to change your life, and a mainstream soda brand that wants you hooked." That is one hell of a claim. Personally, I'm not sure how mainstream a beverage that costs Ā£3,50 per can (0,33 l) can be.
The first one I tried was "Soothe". It's supposed to "calm your mind", according to the can, and has magnesium, maca, reishi, and ashwagandha as its ingredients. I had no idea what to expect and I can say in all honesty, I did not like the taste at all. My friend said it tastes like drinking medicine. To me, it tastes like sparkling cough syrup. It's because of the sage but also the slightly woody and bitter taste of the reishi.
Now let's move on to my taste test:
My next one was "Protect". That one uses ginger, turmeric, chaga and peppercorn, which I must admit sounded interesting to me. Well. What can I say? It tasted way better than "Soothe", but you must absolutely like the taste of ginger. My friend doesn't and said this one tastes even more like medicine.
The aftertaste was the worst. It would just not go away. I don't know if sage as a cure for anything related to colds and coughs is a German thing and that's we reacted so strongly to it. Anyway, I liked this one so little that I didn't dare to try the next one for another two days.
I saved the best for last: "Lift". From the few things I've read online, most people seemed to prefer this one. The ingredients here include bacopa, theanine, cordyceps, and lion's mane in addition to berries and peppercorn. I really liked this one because it's actually refreshing.
The aftertaste is not as insistent and quite nice with the gentle spiciness of the peppercorn and the turmeric. As I kept drinking it, I understood what my friend meant by saying it tastes like medicine though. Drinking the whole can was a struggle because the ingredients just get too much at some point.
Like "Protect", it's a bit spicy, but it works way better here with the berries. Though I must admit that I couldn't really taste the berries as well as I would have liked. As much as I liked this one, it's not something I would want to drink daily. Like the other flavors, this one, too, has several ingredients that taste bitter and/or earthy, like bacopa and lion's mane. It's just not my thing. My friend agreed that this was the best one, but she was like, one sip of this is enough.
Conclusion:
Oooof. I speculated with a friend (not the one who did the tasting with me!) what these would taste like and we originally thought it would taste like sparkling apple juice with some flavor. I don't know if it's a thing anywhere else, but Apfelschorle (sparkling apple juice) is a huge deal here and really, really tasty.
I didn't expect the bitterness and earthiness to be so prominent in the taste, to be honest. All in all, I expected more from these drinks- Especially at that price. None of these were so good that I was like, I want more. Maybe they are good for my health - though that's quite a claim - but so is water. And maybe the sparkling, flavored water you can buy at Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's isn't as healthy (but it might be?), but it tastes much better. It's way cheaper, too.
All that aside, I'm still not sure what to think of the whole brand and the idea behind it. One thing, in particular, I'm missing is information about how the ingredients are sourced. Cordyceps, Lion's Mane, Reishi, etc. aren't exactly ingredients you can get everywhere.
Anyway, that's it from me!
#how to tag this#my taste test#i tried to like it okay?#like i didn't have anything to drink at home before i went shopping earlier#i chose tap water over the g-spot drinks#other people might like it!#this is just my opinion

I think my aesthetic might be something along the lines of cottagecore and light academia with a tinge of Studio Ghibli and bits and pieces of chaotic academia. So this includes:
classical music blaring out of cheap speakers, homemade food served in reused takeout containers, half dying houseplants in everything but traditional flower pots, the fragrance of jasmine and mint, mirrors reflecting sunlight on to disorganised bookshelves with the most random collection of books, soups in glassware, gel pen doodles all over my notes, herbal teas in whiskey glasses, locally sourced incense sticks, handmade woolen blankets over commercially sold quilts, baking granola bars on a lazy sunday afternoon, adding chocolate to literally everything, mid day naps when the weather is cloudy yet humid, ribbon ties instead of stapler pins, making my own spice powders, scented oil lamps, being obsessed with cloves, sleeping on a bed full of pillows only to find over half of them on the floor next morning, missing alarms because closing my eyes for two more seconds won't make me fall asleep again, picking flowers and herbs from the garden, sleepy afternoons, careful skincare but with the most day to day products, eucalyptus oil, use and throw inhalers to deal with my anxiety because the smell of menthol calms me down, short nails and neutral manicure, smelling like flowers one day and like the sea the other, getting excited whenever I spot the moon, absolutely in awe and in love with the clouds because they're amazing and so creative, puppies, calligraphy using ball pens, homemade mocha latte using soya milk, my grandma's childhood earrings that I wear all the time, newspapers, organic vegetables sold by retired social workers, tote bags, reusable metal water bottles, hot showers and cold rinses, using my grandmother's favorite brand of soap because I love smelling like her, herbal hair oil, smelling like sandalwood, cooking pasta with the family, reading secondhand books, collecting fused light bulbs, pencil underlines, postcards, 1 am poetry, pop instrumentals and pensive journaling, benzene rings on page margins, berry flavoured cough syrup, baking bread, long walks, loud conversations, thrifting, e-books, chocolate wrappers hidden between dictionary pages, colourful periodic table prints, plushies, honey, fleece blankets, sleeping cats, signet ring, dried rose I'd bought for myself and carried around like a trophy travelling back home with it in the public bus, twinning perfumes coincidentally with my best friend, vintage looking brand new ink pen and expired ink, sticky notes with motivational quotes covering my wall, never buying perfumes and only using the ones I'm gifted, random words that remind me of niche incidents or memories written along the corners of my study material, pearl jewelry set that my dad gifted my mom but it's me who wears it now, combat boots bought at Ā¼th it's price at a discount clearance sale, all my jackets being bought from different countries by my dad and thus each serving as a token of memory, lipstick shades that match only extremely specific vibes and look off and odd at other times, cherry lip balm stick that I've used only twice, daily calendar sheets reused as a notepad, birthday candles from my 16th birthday sitting on my work table, the lingering smell of multiple beverages in my room because I seldom wash the cups I drank them from and now they're cluttered all over the room, hand me down luxury watches older than me, chipped nailpolish, reminders written down on tissue papers, bus tickets all over my bag, sugar-free chewing gum, deodorant that never washes off my clothes, wearing clothes purchased 5 years ago and getting compliments simply because it's not trendy but is unique, mini origami cranes, rose sprays, lychee scented sanitizer, baking bread at home on weekends, homemade hair masks, turning up late because i was busy enjoying life walking through the eucalyptus grove on the way to class, running to the station yet missing the train, all my everyday ornaments having a deeper meaning to me.

Enchanted Tea Powders Can Lead to Parallel Universes
My collection of enchanted powders and syrups lets me make the best lattes, teas, and drinking chocolates this side of the river. The downside? Remembering what's what while I'm half asleep and concocting my morning brew. Which is why I stopped drinking them last year after a particularly potent brewās unexpected side effect landed me in a parallel universe for five days. Now I go outside and grab a fresh peach, pear, apple, a handful of grapes and three strawberries in order to fix myself an unenchanted fresh fruit juice instead. Those five days were hair raising and I mean literally, as well as metaphorically ā it took several weeks for my hair to return to normal.
Almost the first moment I landed ā and I do mean landed as I dropped from a great height on arrival ā my āadventuresā began. A large green and gold dragon swallowed me whole, which I can confirm is not the most pleasant experience. In fact, I think Iād go so far as to say it was quite the most unpleasant experience Iāve ever had.
How did I get out of it, you ask? Well, itās not for nothing that Iām a witch of considerable repute. I used a spell to make the dragon cough and after a few minutes I found myself flying out of its mouth and crash landing in a tree.
Luckily, the dragon was both apologetic and helpful once she realised what had happened. She got me out of the tree and back onto solid ground, then helped me to find the necessary herbs I needed for poultices for the wounds I acquired when crashing into that tree. Of course, she had no problems in creating a fire for me so that I could boil some water to make the herbal compounds I use on open wounds. After Iād got that done, she insisted on flying me to wherever I wanted to go and when I explained that I didnāt know where I was since Iād arrived there by magical accident, she took me to the most powerful witch she knew.
To my surprise, the witch in question was both a princess and me! Well, not me, but rather my parallel universe self. To say that we were both shocked at the meeting would be an understatement. She fainted clean away and I had to use my magic to revive her as she showed no signs of quickly recovering her senses.
Once she was awake again I had to reassure her that I wasnāt her twin, evil or otherwise, and that I had absolutely no interest in becoming a part of her life as I had a life of my own elsewhere, thank you very much.
Once weād established that, she was quite willing to help me to get back to my own universe. The problem was that in order to do so I needed to drink another cup of the tea Iād drunk that morning, and do you think, after the shocks Iād already had, and given my half-asleep state when I made said tea, that I could remember precisely which enchanted powders Iād used? I really couldnāt.
Which resulted in four days of experimentation. Four days of mixing up enchanted powders, four days of searching for elusive ingredients to go into those powders, and four days of bouncing back and forth between other parallel universes and the princessā own. At least having the dragon along helped! She, it turned out, was a natural anchor to her own and the princessā universe, so when I ended up in a parallel universe that wasnāt my own, she was able to get me back.
No, I donāt know how she did that. You donāt ask dragons those kinds of questions about their magics, not if you want to survive the day, anyway. And yes, Linnormr, for all that she was helpful to me during my time in that parallel universe, was not a dragon I wanted to cross. So I kept my mouth shut and asked no questions.
On the first day that we tried getting to my universe we instead ended up in one where I was an Imperial Knight, renowned as a mighty dragon slayer. (Imagine howĀ Linnormr felt when we made that discovery! Imagine how I felt, too!) We had the misfortune to arrive right where my other self was fighting an enormous red and gold dragon and losing badly. Linnormr asked me if I wanted to help and I said yes, I wanted to help the dragon, not the other me. I explained that until I met her, Iād never met a dragon as there were none in my universe so far as I knew, and she had been kind, helpful, and a good friend to me thus far, therefore I had no inclination to go around slaying dragons, including the one that was doing a good job of killing not-me.
We got out of there as fast as we could, Linnormr flying us both back to her home universe. By the time we got back it was late in the day and she was tired, so I told her quite firmly that I didnāt intend to try going home again that day and she should rest.
On the second day of trying to get home to my universe Linnormr and I ended in a parallel where my alternate self was a mighty king ruling over a vast empire that stretched for thousands of miles. The moment they saw us, the King tried to destroy us, assuming that I was a manifestation of devilry and there to unseat them. No amount of reassurances or explanations were sufficient to persuade them otherwise and the King challenged me to a duel. I explained that Iād never learned how to use any weapons, that my skills lay wholly in herblore. (I didnāt think it would be a good idea to use the word magic around the King, given their attitude to my existence.)
The King waved this objection off with a very curt āYouāll learnā, which meant that I spent the rest of that day in trying to learn how to use a sword. Would it surprise you to know that I wasnāt very good even after sweating over the task for six hours?
The King had had Linnormr chained up on our arrival, but the chains werenāt anything like as strong as they assumed and eventually Linnormr was able to free herself. She arrived at the duelling ground (the King had a separate area of land set aside purely so they and their courtiers could duel with anyone who disagreed with the King. Bizarre.) just as I was being led out, armed with a borrowed sword. The King, of course, arrived in all their splendour, and I was surprised to see just how good regal finery looked on me. Not that I had any intentions of ever wearing such clothing, but still. It was interesting. And then it wasnāt, as the King started to swagger towards me, a very sharp looking sword in their hand. Fortunately, Linnormr arrived at the next moment, literally swooping in to save me by snatching me up with her talons as she flew in low over the duelling ground, accompanied by a roar of outrage from the King and a rather half-hearted (it seemed to me) flight of arrows.
Back in Linnormrās own universe we spent the rest of the day resting and recovering from our ordeal, after Iād recounted what had happened to the princess. She had been suitably appalled by our experience and assured us that when she became queen here it would not go to her head as it had clearly gone to the Kingās head.
The third attempt to get back to my own universe was, if anything, even more horrific than the second attempt because this time we arrived in the middle of a war. A very technological war that featured flying machines raining destruction down on the countryside, armed men and women, rolling machines that I was told were ātanksā, and a version of me who was the President of one of the many countries involved in this terrifying worldwide war. She was outraged at our appearance outside the government offices where her āwar cabinetā was meeting (I was surprised to learn that a war cabinet meant people not furniture).
To my intense relief she didnāt try to have us killed out of hand. She did, however, have us locked up before Iād barely managed to explain who I was and what we were doing there. We were, apparently, āan unnecessary complicationā, so off we went, to the Tower of Londino, the capital cityās central jail.
We were locked up in the Towerās topmost suite since it was the only reasonable way to get Linnormr into the building at all. Unfortunately, the chains the Presidentās jailers used were a lot better than King-meās chains and it took us hours to get ourselves free. In fact, it was only by combining our magics (an experience Iād never had before since there are no dragons here!) that we managed to get ourselves free. Once we were free of our chains, Linnormr set fire to the roof and when the wood had been weakened enough, she shoved her head and shoulders through, bringing down a lot of the roof in the process. Then she picked me up in her talons and flew us out of there.
That was when my hair turned black and spiky (Iād been blonde until then). The spikiness has gone, now, but my hair is permanently black as a consequence of the mild singeing I got during our escape. Not that I blamed Linnormr in any way. It was our only recourse, after all.
Once back in Linnormrās universe I seriously considered simply remaining there and never again attempting to return home. Princess-me was surprisingly amenable to the idea when I idly floated it over a late supper once I and Linnormr had recovered, but Linnormr told me that she thought that I would not survive long if I remained in their universe. I was, it seemed, starting to fade away. The princess hadnāt really noticed as she wasnāt spending much time with me, but Linnormr had noticed on the third day since my arrival in their universe. She speculated that it was because I was inextricably linked to my own universe and that link was starting to wear thin, particularly as I kept ending up in the wrong parallels.
So on the fifth day since Iād arrived in that parallel universe I concocted yet another enchanted powder for my tea, drank it, and crossed into another universe.
I knew I was in the right place almost immediately, not least because Linnormr cried out in shock as I suddenly āun-fadedā again, but also because I felt all my previous weariness drop away as suddenly as if Iād put down a very heavy weight that Iād been carrying around with me.
Linnormr was very happy for me, as was I, of course, but I was surprised when she said that she was thinking of remaining in my universe for a little while in order to try to discover whether there were, in fact, any dragons here. She invited me to go with her and I told her that while I had very much enjoyed her company and was immensely grateful for her friendship and assistance, all I really wanted was to go home and get back to my interrupted life.
Four days after she flew away Linnormr returned and reported solemnly that there were no dragons in my universe. I didnāt ask her how she knew, I just accepted that she did. We shared a last meal together, then she returned to her own universe, promising that sheād come and visit me again one day in the future.
And that, my friend, is why I always drink a glass of fresh, unenchanted fruit juice first thing in the morning.
A/N: Inspired by this prompt.

š - What gestures do they really appreciate? How do you get on their good side?
ā - Coffee or tea?
š - How do they feel about horror movies?
š - How and how often do they try to impress their partner(s)? How and how often do their partner(s) impress them?
for your girls!!
omg thank you for these!!! My apologies they took so long, I've been having such a rough time with focusing on much of anything and I've been so tired for no reason other than existing is hard lmao but thank you for loving my girls! I did them for Arwen and Marcia, and Jasmine and Saoirse!!
š - What gestures do they really appreciate? How do you get on their good side?
Arwen: Arwen really hates cooking and figuring out food. She will if she has to but will hate every minute of her, so the best way to get to her heart is to organize that for her. If someone organizes it for her, whether it be cooking for her or getting her favorite takeout, she just melts. Marcia thankfully loves to cook, so they work well together lmao. Marcia: Marcia loves to be spoiled and told how wonderful and appreciated she is. She really loves experiences - fancy date nights, couples dates at the spa, impromptu weekend getawaysā¦.stuff like that. Saoirse: Saoirse really loves when people very obviously listen to her and remember things sheās said and act on those things. She teaches high school, and while she loves her students and what she does, it does get really frustrating sometimes because it can feel like sheās speaking to a wall and has to spend the majority of her day repeating herself. Someone hanging on her every word, and remembering something sheād said weeks ago and bringing it up later is something that just makes her feel SO special and loved. Jasmine: Little acts of service make Jasmine feel really loved. Sheās so used to having to be hyper-competent at work and it makes her melt a bit when someone does something for her, even if sheās perfectly capable of and planning on doing something herself. Sometimes sheāll come home after a long, hard day of work, and the house is clean, and Saoirseās just gotten dinner in the oven, and she kisses her cheek and tells her sheāll draw her a bath and pour her a glass of wine, and sheās all š„ŗš„ŗš„ŗ. It works platonically, too. If one of her coworkers takes the time to grab her a coffee from the cart without her asking, she just dies lmao
ā - Coffee or tea?
Arwen: Arwen loves iced coffee no matter the weather. Even when itās freezing, she prefers iced coffee over hot. She usually takes it with oat milk and whatever syrup sheās feeling that day, usually hazelnut vanilla. Marcia: Marcia is a tea kind of person. She loves all kinds of tea, but she tends to prefer earl gray or herbal teas. With earl gray, she takes it with a little bit of cream and sugar, and with herbal teas sheāll add a bit of honey. Not too much, just enough to give it a little bit of sweetness. Saoirse: Saoirse is a coffee person, preferably as black as her soul. Even better would be an IV of coffee directly into her veins, but thatās not possible yet lol. She really likes nitro cold brews, or just plain black coffee. Jasmine: Jasmine is neither a coffee or tea person. She doesnāt really like the taste of either, but will consent to drinking tea when sheās sick (only because her throat always hurts SO bad when sheās sick. That and cough drops are the only things that help). To get her caffeine fix, she usually opts for the largest size available of either Diet Coke or Coke Zero.Ā
š - How do they feel about horror movies?
Arwen: Arwen doesnāt really like horror movies. She thinks theyāre dumb, and has no interest in watching them. Marcia: Marcia doesnāt like horror movies. She was raised really religious, and although sheās deconstructed years ago, she still doesnāt really fuck with spooky stuff. She doesnāt really believe in it anymore, but Itās just kind of a holdover from it being drilled into her head that horror and paranormal stuff is satanic lmao. Saoirse and Jasmine: They do enjoy horror movies, but really only during spooky season when they can really get in the mood for it. They wonāt really watch any of them outside of October.
š - How and how often do they try to impress their partner(s)? How and how often do their partner(s) impress them?
This might be kind of a boring answer, but I donāt really feel like any of these four ever try to impress their partner! Theyāre all pretty secure and established in their relationship, and any impressing they do is completely unintentional. Marcia may occasionally try and impress Arwen, if only to be given praise lmao.

my muses except i assign them to loose leaf tea flavors i currently have in my house
please read my posts about tea i have kind of what my detractors might call an obsession.
apple cinnamon french toast - currently my second favorite tea. delightfully sweet and bold, has a strong smell and a rich taste. i would assign this tea to roland fortis!
savannah sunrise - citrusy but not too strong, a very clear and vibrant tasting tea. it's new to me so i haven't had much of it. i would assign this tea to ty lee!
lavender raspberry honeybush - a very subtle but rich fruity tea, easy to brew and drink at any temperature. i would assign this tea to cahir mawr dyffryn aep ceallach!
blue lady grey - very strong and unique tasting, sort of not what you expect upon seeing it but a very memorable tea. i would assign this tea to roy mayrana!
tangerine ginger - extremely flavorful but VERY heavy on the ginger flavor. if i drink it in the wrong mood it feels sort of like i'm being attacked but i actually like the way it looks and smells a lot. i would assign this tea to stella!
peach ginger detox gold - actually very good, has a more muted flavor than you'd think but the low brewing temperature means it's easier to drink fast. the ginger is also not noticeable in here. i would assign this tea to pleasant clemens!
pacific peppermint - smells almost exactly like a candy cane. tastes like a very muted candy cane. actually very good for a dessert or afternoon tea in my opinion. i would assign this tea to aurilis ayeva!
earl grey supreme - a plain tea but actually quite good as far as earl grey goes (i am an earl grey fan though). i would give this tea to mukuhara kazui.
decaf earl grey - i didn't honestly like this one that much, it was bland and taking away the caffeine is kind of detracting from earl grey in general ... i would assign this tea to vernon roche! because that man does not need to be more wired than he already is all of the time.
caramel toffee pu-erh - a VERY sweet tea with a very long brew time, but i really enjoy it as a dessert. i would assign this tea to luminous!
white cherry - it smells exactly like cough syrup. the taste is fine but i can't get over the cough syrup thing. i would assign this tea to five pebbles to help with his rot. feel better soon five pebbles!
apricot white - a VERY very good and light white tea, it's very appealing to look at and very nice to drink. i've been debating ordering some more of this. i would assign this tea to dandelion!
chocolate covered strawberries - it was alright. it actually didn't stick out to me really at all. i would assign this tea to benjamin clemens!
pomegranate green tea - a very strong tea, the pomegranate flavor really comes out and i usually drink this before my friday dnd! for that reason and because it looks a lot like blood i'm going to assign this tea to cyran azerrad kapral!
elderberry fortress herbal tea - it's a good tea and one of the only actual medicinal teas i have in the house. genuinely like it, but we save this for when we have sore throats or allergies. i would assign this to ankita culathene!
houjicha - a VERY VERY VERY good japanese green tea. my favorite tea we currently have. it's moderately sweet and nutty and amazing and i drink it almost every sunday night before bed. i would assign this tea to yanna lazaros!
moringa tulsi - why is it spicy ................ i would assign this tea to jet!
international breakfast tea - my best friend. he's like a brother to me. very plain and slightly bitter but i drink this tea every morning for breakfast. i have an industrial sized bag of this tea so i can drink it every morning for breakfast. very high in caffeine. i would assign this tea to shirogane kei!

What is Unani Medicine?
Unani medicine is a system of alternative medicine that originated in ancient Greece and was developed by Arab and Persian physicians. The foundation of Unani medicine is the idea that a person's health and disease are determined by their four humors blood, phlegm and black bile as well as their four temperaments sanguine, phlegmatic, choleric, and melancholy. Unani medicine aims to balance the humors and temperaments by using natural remedies such as herbs, minerals, animal products, diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications.
In India, unani medicine has been used for thousands of years to treat a variety of diseases, including kidney stones, diabetes, arthritis, asthma, skin ailments, and digestive problems. The Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) oversees unani medicine and is recognized by the Indian government.

Yeah the homeopathy label is loosely applied these days, for instance, Zicam is labeled homeopathic even though itās not homeopathy. Itās zinc, and contains more than any homeopathy will allow. But labeling it homeopathic as a marketing choice. Thereās an easy way to identify if something really is homepathic, and itās the drug labeling:
Thatās from a cough syrup for kids, which honestly giving fake medicine to kids is abhorrent, but here you see the ingredients arenāt in miligrams but are labeled as ā6X/12X HPUSā. That is not the amount of the ingredient, itās how many times it has been diluted. And the HPUS is just a rubber stamp from the Homeopathic Pharmacy of the United States. Homeopathy is not just based on ālike treats likeā but also the pseudoscientific notion that āwater has memoryā
In homeopathy, homeopathic dilution (known by practitioners as "dynamisation" or "potentisation") is a process in which a substance is diluted with alcohol or distilled water and then vigorously shaken in a process called "succussion". Insoluble solids, such as quartz and oyster shell, are diluted by grinding them with lactose (trituration). The founder of homeopathy, Samuel Hahnemann (1755ā1843), asserted that the process of succussion activated the "vital energy" of the diluted substance,[1] and that successive dilutions increased the "potency" of the preparation, although other strands of homeopathy (such as Schuessler's) disagreed.
The concept is pseudoscience because, at commonly used dilutions, no molecules of the original material are likely to remain.[2] Therefore high homeopathic dilutions must be distinguished from low dilutions where there can be an overlap with herbal medicine.[3] (source)
In other words, the ingredient that is supposed to treat you based on ridiculous notions of ālike treats likeā is diluted to the point that no original molecule of that ingredient could possibly be in the final product.
Homeopathy is pure pseudoscience and a scam that preys on peopleās fears of modern medicine. As a disabled person, I know those fears arenāt unfounded or ridiculous, Iāve been through the worst and best of this medicine. It still doesnāt change the fact that homeopathic treatments wonāt do any better than a placebo. If you choose to fall for it and waste your money on fake medicine, thatās your right, but to give it to children as well is horrifying to me.
I understand that vaccines are proven to work and are a great advancement in our medicine, and also that homeopathic remedies don't work, but don't they work on the same principal? Why does one work and the other doesnt?
They do not work on the same principle.
I can see how vaccines look like a "like treats like" situation, but in homeopathy "like treats like" is a kind of magical thinking.
Let's take an example from Chicken Pox, a virus for which there is an effective vaccine and for which there is a common homeopathic treatment.
Chicken pox infects people once, and it is extremely rare to get a second case because once you have had it, your body forms persistent antibodies against the varicella-zoster virus. When I was a kid, they didn't have a vaccine for this, so kids mostly got chicken pox once and it ran around whole schools and that was it. It's a virus that is fairly minor in children, though it can cause dangerously high fevers. Adults who get chicken pox typically get much sicker than children who get it, and it can lead to permanent harms like infertility in adults who get it. Because it can be so dangerous, we don't want people to risk getting it, so we vaccinate.
The way the vaccine works is that it takes a weakened form of the virus and introduces that into the body of a person with a healthy immune system. The immune system responds and the person who got the vaccine may get some minor symptoms, like a headache or a slight fever, but it will be nowhere near as severe as getting actual chicken pox would be. Because the immune system was exposed to the virus and responded, it now has antibodies against the virus that recognize the virus and respond immediately before it can start replicating in the body. If a person who has either previously had chicken pox or who has been vaccinated against it is exposed to the chicken pox virus, their body uses those antibodies to react to the virus and protect against a systemic infection.
Are you familiar with Star Trek? It's kind of like the Borg. You can't use the same attack pattern against the Borg multiple times because if you do, they'll recognize the pattern and will be able to defend against it. The virus is the attacker, and your immune system is the Borg. It knows what it's looking for and won't let anything get through its defenses.
Homeopathic remedies don't seek to prevent illness or provoke an immune response, they seek to cancel out something that is happening in the body.
For chicken pox, which produces itchy red bumps, homeopaths use Rhus Tox - a dilution of poison ivy, a plant that causes itchy red bumps if you encounter it in nature. The Rhus Tox didn't cause the chicken pox, it's not given to prevent the virus, it's from a plant that is completely unrelated to the virus that happens to produce some of the same symptoms as the virus when you touch it.
They don't even think that the Rhus Tox will provoke an immune response from your body like actually touching poison ivy would, they're attempting to use an unrelated compound (that is so diluted that it isn't even present in the preparation) in place of your immune system to attack the itchy red bumps.
So I'm going to go over this in a few brief points:
Vaccines are preventative ONLY, they are not a treatment for illness or symptoms of an illness
Vaccines work by introducing your immune system to a partial, weakened, or dead virus so that your immune system can form antibodies against that virus and prevent that virus from replicating in your body when it is later exposed to a whole/strong/live virus.
Different vaccines have different levels of effectiveness and produce different lengths of immunity; this is for a number of reasons, but if you get a measles shot as a kid you may only ever need one booster, while you need a flu shot every year and a tetanus shot every decade. All of them work the same way, though: they show your immune system what a virus looks like so that your immune system can kill the virus.
That is why immune compromised people sometimes can't be vaccinated, or why vaccines don't work as well for them or may need higher doses or more boosters. Because they don't have a healthy immune system, weakened viruses like the ones in the chickenpox virus might be too strong for their immune system to fight, and even if it doesn't get them sick, their bodies may not be able to produce enough effective antibodies to protect them from the virus in the future. That's part of why it's important for as many people to be vaccinated as possible; the more people who are vaccinated, the harder it is for viruses to spread, and vulnerable people like immune compromised people or babies too young for vaccination won't be exposed to deadly viruses.
Homeopathy, on the other hand, aims to treat symptoms of an illness that a person is already experiencing.
Homeopathic treatments do not aim to provoke an immune response, they aim to cancel out a symptom with a cure.
Dilution is a very important part of homeopathy, with homeopaths claiming that the more diluted a preparation is the stronger it is. This is simply incorrect; I don't know how to make a more logical explanation of that, it is just wrong that less of a substance causes more of a response.
Homeopathy says "like treats like" and that may seem like using a vaccine with a weak virus to prevent infection from a strong virus, but their version of "like" is different - Rhus Tox (poison ivy) is supposed to be "like" chicken pox because both cause itching. Rhus tox is also supposed to treat PCOS, erectile dysfunction, uterine prolapse, sunken eyes, nausea, and backache. "Like" can have an extremely broad meaning in homeopathy, which should be cause for suspicion.
Here's a paper that compared the immune response of college students given homeopathic "vaccines" against a control group and against a group of students who were given standard medical vaccines. The control group and the homeopathic group both did not have an immune response in titer tests, while the vaccination group did have an immune response, demonstrating that they had protection from the vaccinated viruses. It's a pretty good demonstration both of how effective homeopathy is (not at all) as well as how to set up a fair and ethical study to look at the effectiveness of different kinds of treatments.
