Kou and Mitsuba...
Well, it's something I really don't want to talk about because it's none of my business. But, I see a lot of talk about Tsukasa in the mixture. So, I will talk about it. for once.
Let's start with this friendship from the very beginning.
Kou, a boy who has 2 best friends. When he was a first year student at middle school, he met a student in his class named Mitsuba, they shake hands and introduce.
Mitsuba, a boy who wishes to have friends and was ready to be nice to everyone in his class back in his first year of middle school, became supposedly friends with Kou.
After some point in time, it seems they got in different classes and didn't interact at all. Up until Kou became a third year.
Mitsuba died last winter. What happened to Kou? Nothing. He seems not to remember him and didn't know about his death at all. -I will get to this later.-
In the time we are in now, Kou hangs out with Nene and Hanako and his two friends. Did he mention a thing about losing a friend called Mitsuba? No.
Then, He hears from his 2 friends about a rumor, -clearly made by Tsukasa-
After that, he meets the said ghost.
What did he do? He took him to Hanako, trying to do his work as an exorcist and asked for advice to help this ghost get over his regrets, so he can 'pass away' properly.
He didn't say: Oh! Mitsuba! Is that you?! Why are you a ghost?! He didn't remember him at all. All he got was him being a student there. That's all there is to it.
So, the two met, because of a rumor, TSUKASA made. If it wasn't for that rumor, Kou would still be the same boy at the beggening of the manga. Knows nothing about this former classmate. Because that's all they really were up until he met ghost him and spent time with him. Thanks to who? Thanks to Tsukasa.
Next, after Kou went to Hanako, he tried to make *that ghost* get over his regrets. He got him his camera and still didn't remember him, even when his name was written on it. He didn't go like:Oh! Mitsuba... I remember that name... you're him?! My former classmate?! Why are you a ghost?! And if he was that close with Mitsuba, how would he forget how he looks? How would he forget that Mtsuba loooooves taking photos? How didn't he notice the name? Even if he did, will he remember him? He even didn't say: Oh! I had a friend who likes photography too! he passed away though...
Kou even went and introduced himself to Mitsuba. Mitsuba remembered him, but Kou didn't. Because Kou has never taken their friendship that seriously. Only Mitsuba did. It was just a temporarly 'friendship' that ended with them getting in different classes.
Kou took the camera from Mitsuba at some point, yet he still didn't notice the name. But, one of his two friends did. Even though he wasn't even holding the camera. It hurts to know that that friend of Kou still remembers Mitsuba, but Kou doesn't. Not until he was reminded of it. So painfully funny.
Kou doesn't remember a thing about Mitsuba.
1/ He didn't recognize his camera. Or that he likes photography. 2/ He didn't recognize his appearance. 3/ He didn't know a thing about him dying, when or how. 4/ He didn't remember being in a class with him before. 5/ His friend did and he didn't... ops.... 6/ After him being reminded he asked... "Mitsuba... That Mitsuba?" in disbelief. 7/ And finally he remembered him. Good for you Kou. Took you long enough.
That's how close they were. Mitsuba was just a former classmate to Kou that he doesn't even remember.
Now, if Kou's friend didn't remind him of Mitsuba, he would still be oblivious to his existence. It's like this:
Tsukasa made that rumor about Mitsuba. → Kou met ghost him again because of what Tsukasa did. And he still didn't remember a thing about him. Kou's friend remembered Mitsuba and reminded Kou and he finally did remember. It leads to this: If Tsukasa didn't do that or "wasn't there" nothing of this would have happened. Because Kou would still be oblivious to anything about Mitsuba. And would still never met him his ghost at all.
It's thanks to who he did remember Mitsuba's existence and met ghost him? Yes, thanks to Tsukasa.
Then, Kou tried to make up for that, telling Mitsuba that he is *sorry*. It was really needed at that point. And he won't forget about him and will say he is like the list he talked about if anyone asked him about Mitsuba. Nice apology, Kou! <3 Then, he told Mitsuba to be himself. -And Tsukasa is blamed for being himself. haha. funny.-
He didn't recognize him because he was so different from first year. As he said. Meaning, they were't close and their relationship lasted only for that time.
Then Mitsuba asked:
This confirms what I said above. Mitsuba didn't even call the 2 of them friends. And Kou answered that even if he is dead, they can still be friends. There, Mitsuba took a photo of Kou. As a sign of their friendship. That moment, they became friends. And thanks to who? Thanks to Tsukasa. Who existed and made that rumor so Kou finally remembered having someone called Mitsuba before. And became friends with his ghost. Thanks so much, Tsukasa. You were the reason for Kou and Mitsuba to become friends. You granted Mitsuba's 'real' wish to have a friend.
After that, Tsukasa appeared to the 2, took a part of Mitsuba's soul or whatever. And changed his rumor once again after fully understanding it. And turned him into a supernatural. Tsukasa did that in a "twisted"way, so Mitsuba won't be forgotten. And with that, he turned him from a weak ghost to a strong supernatural. And Hanako came to save the day, put an end to ghost/supernatural Mitsuba and there you go. Mitsuba is dead - dead.
Now, here Kou was upset and super angry at Tsukasa for what he did. Fine and fare?
Tsukasa gave him a friend, granted that friend real wish for him. In the only way possble. The one who eneded Mitsuba is Hanako really. Kou should be grateful to Tsukasa? But oh, well. Kou didn't know it's Tsukasa who was the reason for him to have that friend and to remember his existence in the first place, or that Tsukasa was doing his job in the only way available. You should open your eyes, Kou. You should see thw world for what it really is.
Now, to the real talk. Kou has every right to be angry at Tsukasa? Let's see.
Tsukasa was just doing his job. To grant the wish Mitsuba asked for, in his Tsukasa way. He changed Mitsuba into a supernatural in order for him to exist longer and to stay in everyone's memory. He did his job.
If we really need to blame someone, the blame should be on the 3 of them? Mitsuba for going to Tsukasa and asking him to grant his wish. He went to him. That means he should bear with all the consequences that will come out of that, out of his own wish and him going to Tsukasa to grant it. Kou was weak and not able to protect him -from his wish-. Let's blame Kou's weakness. And Tsukasa for doing his job in a twisted way? Some blame should go for that? But can he do it otherwise? can he turn Mitsuba back into a human? All he can do for him is giving him a stable existence as a supernatural, by changing his rumor.
....... I don't really see it as Tsukasa is bad.... He gave Mitsuba a stable existence. And told him to make Kou like him so he can have a friend with him forever. He was just granting Mitsuba's wish to have a friend forever.
The blame should go to Kou really, because he interfered with something that is non of his business. It's like a contract between both Mitsuba and Tsukasa. There is no side 3. Kou put himself in the picture. Even Tsukasa when he got there ignored him. Because his work is with the one who asked him for the wish. Not someone who is there to shout 'hey, leave my friend.' And as Tsukasa put it, Kou was the reason he understood Mitsuba's real wish! Kou is the one responsible for Tsukasa being able to change Mitsuba's rumor once again. ...........
Your friend went to Tsukasa and asked him for the wish and Tsukasa is doing his job. So, sit back and relax, Kou. It's your shouting 'leave my friend', that got Tsukasa to ask Mitsuba to make you like him. And really, Tsukasa is dead and a ghost. He doesn't care about the humans lives. And who can blame him for that? He is not human. Humans are not his business. His job is to grant wishes for those on the far shore.
Kou should cry for himself. He is the one who put himself in a situation he doesn't fit into. Tsukasa didn't force him to be Mitsuba's friend or to go out for revenge or to try to 'save' him. From what do you want to save him really, Kou? From his own wish? his desire? Him walking to Tsukasa himself and asking him to make his wish come true?
And it's not like Tsukasa was responsible for Kou to lose his 'ghost' friend. He just granted his wish and made Mitsuba's true desires come to the picture. The form Mitsuba took was him. And he himself harmed Kou because deep down, he wants to make Kou just like him and have him forever. Tsukasa didn't force him. It was Mitsuba's deep desire. Just like what No. 2 said.
Mitsuba is the one who hurt Kou in that situation. And Kou is still hurting himself because he is still going after Mitsuba, his friend/ fake copy of his friend. Nothing is wrong with that. But he should be aware of the consequences and the pain he will bring to himself. Tsukasa didn't force him to go after his friend nor to consider him a friend. Tsukasa didn't change Mitsuba into a monster, he just made him submett to his true desires. And he took that form.
So, again. The one who hurt Kou, was Mitsuba. Tsukasa didn't force him. It was his desire. Tsukasa just hurt Kou by hitting him into the wall twice. Both were because he interfered with Tsukasa's work. Tsukasa didn't go to Kou. He completely ignored him. It's Kou who went to Tsukasa. And who knocks the door, hears the response.
And about Kou being hurt? He should really blame his weakness and not being able to do his job in a proper way.
Let's not forget about the fake Mitsuba. Kou became friends with him as well. And Tsukasa didn't do a thing about that. He is not keeping Mitsuba a presioner to him. Mitsuba is free to do whatever he wants. And he is working on a different wish for fake Mitsuba now. The p.p arc showed that Tsukasa doesn't really care if Kou and Mitsuba spent time together. Tsukasa didn't hurt Mitsuba and Kou in any way. They are more than free to have their friendship.
How is he bad here (with kou and real ghost Mitsuba)? All he did before was doing his job that he was asked to do by Mitsuba himself. when you sign a contract, you should be ready to have all the results that will come out from it. So, Mitsuba should blame himself for doing something he can't face its results. Tsukasa is someone who is doing his job here. Kou is the one who went and put himself in the picture. He should accept all that happend to him. And again, blame his weakness and try his best to 'save' fake Mitsuba now, to prove he has changed and became stronger. It's all for himself really, Tsukasa doesn't have a thing to do with that. He didn't force him to seek revenge, to try saving Mitsuba or whatever.
And what is he going to save Mitsuba from? I don't really know.
Tsukasa? He is out of the picture. He didn't hurt Kou, fake Mitsuba or real Mitsuba in any way. He wants to save him from being dead (real Mitsuba)? From being a copy and a weak ghost (fake)? The rules of the world maybe? The world is your true enemy. Not Tsuaksa, Kou.
The hate he holds for Tsukasa? I didn't really see a reason for it. Tsukasa is not human. He is a completely different being with a whole different life and standers. Just like the human rules don't work for Hanako or any other supernatural, the same goes for Tsukasa. He was just doing his job there.
Now, to the 'great' friendship, Tsukasa was the reason it happened in the first place.
And another important thing. In ch 82, Kou was the one to convinced Tsukasa to go home, told him about the future and therefore he was killed by his twin and became the ghost Tsukasa.
If Kou didn't do that, Tsukasa wouldn't have left the red house, leading to Kou never meeting Mitsuba again because it happened because Tsukasa made a rumor about him and there would be no Tsukasa so it won't happen. Kou would still be oblivious to Mitsuba's exstance. He would still be just a former classmate to him. And if it happened that he heard from someone about his death, he will be like: "oh... Who is Mitsuba again?" After being reminded, he will just say: "how sad" and move on. If he didn't convince Tsukasa to go back home, Tsukasa wouldn't have changed Mitsuba's rumor again and changed him into a supernatural. Kou wouldn't blame Tsukasa for it because it won't happen. If Tsukasa didn't exist in their future and stayed in the red house, non of that could have happend. No fake Mitsuba, no Kou being friends with both real and fake Mitsuba. If Tsukasa wasn't there. You won't see this 'amazing' friendship or whatever. Because Kou won't meet ghost Mitsuba or remember about him. It's thanks to Tsukasa being there.
So, if Kou wanted to blame Tsukasa? He should blame himself for convincing past him to leave the red house. Because if he didn't. Non of this would have happened. Kou should blame himself. His weakness, him being reckless and stupid. He should facepalm because he is the reason Tsukasa is still there. He just got the result of his doing. Nothing more. That is... If he was going to keep on blaming Tsukasa. (Who didn't harm him in any way.)
And if it was Tsukasa who is the 'bad guy' in that situation?
Neither Kou nor Mitsuba should have interfered with Tsukasa. As they say: "Who plays with a cat must bear its scratches."
#Tsu is also like a cat... wow... that saying really fits Tsu in more than one way...#best friendship? all i see is the regret Kou holds for not remembering real Mitsuba nor being able to do a thing for him...#he made things only worse for him. and now he is trying to fix it with 2nd Mitsuba due to his regret.#a very long post... how did it turn out this way.....?#jshk
