Hi, May! How are you?

I’m currently in the middle of writing a term paper and prepping for several exams but I think I’m doing pretty good so far. Especially cause I found a way to connect this term paper to the work I’ve done for one of my term papers from last semester.

I’ve had an interesting conversation with my professor where she gave me tips on how to set myself up for staying in academia,, like writing my bachelor thesis in a way that makes it viable for publishing and maybe asking my boss if he would consider making me a co-author on some of the papers based on my coding work for his project. Now I just gotta figure out how to ask my boss about it without freaking out 😂

Child protection legislation plays a vital role in safeguarding the well-being and rights of children. This article, penned from the viewpoint of a seasoned psychiatrist specializing in child abuse, trauma, and exploitation, offers a detailed and dynamic guide on advocating for child protection legislation in one’s area. By actively supporting such legislation, individuals can contribute to creating a safer, more nurturing environment for children.

1.Understand Existing Laws and Identify Gaps:

Begin by familiarizing yourself with existing child protection laws and policies in your jurisdiction (Mathews & Bross, 2008). Identifying gaps or areas requiring improvement will help you focus your advocacy efforts on specific issues.

2. Stay Informed and Research Best Practices:

Continually educate yourself on best practices and successful models of child protection legislation from other jurisdictions. This knowledge can help inform your advocacy strategy and strengthen your arguments for change (Gilbert et al., 2009).

3. Build a Coalition:

Collaborate with like-minded individuals, organizations, and professionals in your community who share your concern for child protection. By creating a coalition, you can pool resources, knowledge, and influence to amplify your impact (Gainsborough, 2003).

KAXAN SEASON 1 EPISODE 1: PILOT

WRITTEN WITH THE HELP OF AI DUNGEON

Djorrhan Djorrhar and Lady Rena must fight off henchmen sent to them by Man's Grudge: a terrible poaching clan that seeks to defeat all wolves all over the world because the hunters of Man's Grudge believe that only humans deserve to speak their tongues.

It is a deadly game that the two have been playing since they formed their pact. They must choose their allies wisely, for without each other's help, they will fall. Djorrhan and Lady Rena have their disagreements, but tonight they have one common goal: raid a hunting nest and drive the hunters out of the Hisoquerkee Valleys.

Kaxan Zager introduces himself, saying, "My name is Agent Kaxan Zager. I am a fellow agent tasked with the same mission Agent Djorrhan Djorrhar is. It is an honor to work with you both."

"Likewise," Lady Rena says.

"I know you have many questions to ask, and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge." "Djorrhan Djorrhar, are we getting close?" says Kaxan, as the van they are riding in rolls down the road.

"Getting very close," says Djorrhan.

"Good. I must say, I am impressed by your work as a spy. Not many agents can survive the Krahshan Mountains." Joran says, "Thank you. My work in the Krahshan Mountains was treacherous." The van slows to a halt. Poachers from Man's Grudge march up to the truck. One of the hunters, a scar running down his face, approaches the van, pointing a shotgun to the hull of the big, gray and dusty exterior of the van. He acts clueless, asking why they intrude on the territory of Man's Grudge.

"We're getting out. Remain where you are," Kaxan says in his deep voice, opening the door of the van. Joran gets out of the van, followed by Rena and followed by Kaxan. Joran reaches into his suit and pulls out an assortment of spy gadgets. He activates a tiny, circular machine, which sticks out of the van's side, and the machine fires a small, dart-like projectile into the forehead of the scar-faced Man's Grudge poacher. Lady Rena growls at the hunters. Being a wolf, she is always ready to pounce. She flexes her sharp, shiny teeth, even shiny when the night is dim and the stars and the moon are not out, even on a night like tonight. The hunters charge at the three. Rena, Kaxan and Joran stand, each facing away from each other, slashing, shooting at and warding off the hunters, especially the one with a scarred face. The poachers' camp-out overflows with gunfire and men with scruffy beards running out to fight the three, poachers pouring out, shooting at them. One of the men aims a shotgun at Kaxan's head.

"Drop your weapons! Now!" the man shouts, as the rest of the poachers aim their weapons at them.

"We have a job to do."

Kaxan Zager refuses to drop his weapon: a sniper rifle that, when modified, can also become a rapid-fire machine gun that spits out bullets faster than the sound of them being spat can travel through the air.

"You want us to drop our weapons? You need to drop yours." The poacher explains that they kill wolves for a living, and that stopping would make them all feel demotivated. They bemoan the idea of leaving their long time hobby behind.

"If you really want to kill us, try it!" Joran says, brandishing his gun. "We can take on all of you!" Lady Rena refuses to believe it the hunting is just a hobby—the hunters want to drive all wolves to extinction because they have the same level of sentience as humans. Joran and Lady Rena fight the scar-faced hunter, Keshin De Brosse. He fires his shotgun, which only manages to hit Kaxan, but Joran is wounded in the shoulder. "This is for everything you wolves stole from us humans!" Keshin De Brosse shouts, firing his rifle. The bullet hits Kaxan in the back of the head.

"Kax!" Joran shouts.

"No!" Lady Rena shouts. She runs towards the shooting poachers. Joran follows Lady Rena. The fighting continues.

Joran reaches into his tuxedo and pulls out a pair of kali sticks. He throws the kali sticks through the air; they ricochet into his hand like eagles soaring from and to their keepers. "Wolves are not to be hunted." Lady Rena and Joran continue to fight the poachers in an intense clash of teeth, guns, and blades.

The poachers became more overwhelming in their numbers. "We're like a pack of wolves, and it's only a matter of time before the entire pack is hunted down and killed," Joran says.

"Then the pack will fight to the last wolf," Lady Rena says.

"And we will never stop fighting, until we are all dead," Joran says. Joran pulls out another spy gadget from the inside of his tuxedo. This one fires a needle-like projectile that fires out of the gadget and sticks into an enemy's neck.

Kaxan Zager reaches into his tuxedo and pulls out a gizmo: a tiny little tech piece disguised as a wristwatch. It fires lasers from the hour and minute hands, out the sides of the watch, zapping the poachers.

"It's no use, Lady Rena," Joran says. "We'll never make it out alive."

"We will!" Lady Rena says. "We will make it out alive if we put up a good fight."

"With what?" Joran asks. Lady Rena plucks something from the top of a towering oak tree and scampers back down. It is an ax, one left by the poachers. She throws the ax back, gripping it with her teeth, then throws it with the full force of a wolf's mandibles.

The ax sticks into a poacher's forehead, and the man falls to the ground. A gurgling noise rises up from his throat, and then he stops moving.

"Let's go," Lady Rena says. "They're numbered." Joran, Kaxan, and Rena climbed up and swung through trees, chasing the poachers deep into the forest. Joran followed Lady Rena, and Kaxan followed Joran. Eventually, they came across a row of trees that had been toppled over, probably by a tornado passing through the woods. "They'll never return to these valleys now," said Kaxan. "Where is the payment we were promised?" Rena distributes the payment—small chips of gold with the emblem of Dmarani etched onto both faces—Dmarani currency, as Joran and Kaxan were promised. "Our continual fight against Man's Grudge will end up being the most enduring fight in the entire history of our lives."

"We'll all do our best to keep the fight going until we win." Joran says. "We always do."

"You always do," Lady Rena says.

The poachers are gone. The Hisoquerkee Valleys—at least these regions of it—are empty. The three friends take a deep breath of the fresh woodland air.

Meh, I don’t know. We get a fair share of flashbacks from the "Previously on" segments, and Adam asked Roxane to stay just two episodes before that, so I think the average viewer would get the hint. Not to mention the Brosse Adam pining is the glue that barely holds the show together, so it’s no secret he’s been less than boyfriend of the year. But agreed, he deserved to have it all thrown back in his face! I just wish Roxane’s lines had been better. (Also, the show doesn’t seem to care all that much about the viewers’ full understanding of a given situation. Remember Gilles and Daphné’s passive-aggressive criticisms of Timothée in 301? They don’t make sense unless you remember earlier investigations 😂 Yet another inconsistency in terms of expectations…)

Maybe the cast liked that episode best because they got to play dress-up and break the knob off on the wackiness? Enrichment in the enclosure, and all that… (lol you’re right about the HPI/Palmashow parallel, I didn’t even think of that. Something something, reality becomes indistinguishable from satire. Ça pique 😅)

I get where your frustration about scheduling a date three months out comes from (I personally don’t mind, at least it sets clear expectations from the both of them--and we get to see them be excited about it on the same day, like a couple of weirdos who counted down the days 🥹), so I’ll go with your theory. And if Adam’s sure about his feelings, they have a better shot at making it work long-term, therefore sparing Morgane the pain of being dumped for like the 3rd time in a month! It’s a win-win.

hi 👀 306 was last week but I still wanted to address a couple of things… mainly roxane’s last scene, ouch, she deserved a better exit than parroting the writers’ memo on [gros canard]’s failings 😩 c’est faible. feels like they should’ve axed the scene (it was clear enough they’d break up, anyway) and simply confirmed she left with the voicemail about her sister dropping off the keys. (btw--did we know she had a sister before you mentioned that detail in fic, or was it another of your predictions??)

big fan of the attic scene though, and daphné & [gros canard]’s synchronized "gilles 🙄😵" lol. plot-wise, however, I’d like to know who would put multiple acid tablets in a bottle they’re not drinking, because 1) big waste of money for a student population, 2) it’s probably not the most efficient way to take lsd (les résidus au fond de la bouteille !!!), 3) que fait le bde ? shouldn’t they at least pretend to care about safety when there’s a party in the dorms?

I tend to disagree with you re Roxane's break-up scene, because let's remember that we are obsessed. We can list all of Adam's misdemeanors in the blink of an eye. The casual viewer can't. So this last fact in itself justifies Roxane's monologue reminding us what a terrible boyfriend he's been. And also, even though it all wasn't fresh news for me, I must say I appreciated hearing them all together and I appreciated even more Adam having all of this said to his face. And Roxane's conclusion "Et tu penses que ça fait de toi un type bien" poooooooow elle tire à balles réelles et ça fait du bien !!!! So yea basically I loved that scene because he deserved it. Period. 😂

And yes, Roxane mentioned her sister in 206!!! ("et pour l'anniversaire de ma soeur, tu as pu te libérer ?" while Adam is cursing Morgane for not capping the ketchup bottle) Now did I mention her sister in PQENCEL, well I'm afraid that's another occurrence of Local HPI anon knows my own fic better than I do lol!

The attic scene was funny-ish, granted, but it's entirely thanks to Gilles' inability to correctly answer multiple-choice questions! Ok full disclaimer, I'm kinda meh about this episode, I don't understand why so many people, cast members included, claim that it's the season's best, but also I must say that for me, the episode is completely doomed because of some infuriating stuff that happens in the finale 😭

Agreed that there's some very generous dealers on this campus, last time I checked open bars didn't include full bottles of LSD, but hey what do I know, my student years are far behind (also BDEs have never been worried about safety, come on 😅)(but this makes me think of the Palmashow's HPI spinoff "BDE" lol I bet it would have made this ep more interesting)

... which makes the three months window proposal absolutely frustrating!!! I *hated* this part (I mean, before I watched the finale and understood what hating an episode's ending really meant lol *crying laughter*), because even though Adam needs some time to heal (understandable), and is a total control freak who shows up early on dates and probably needs to know his schedule six months in advance, this is like peak non-romance. Where's the passion? The spontaneity? I'd have accepted this scene if we'd seen him showing up at Morgane's door barely a week later and telling her that he, in fact, cannot wait, but this... UGH!

My theory is that he wanted to wait long enough to be sure about his feelings for Morgane (which would explain why he's so enthusiastic to date her in the next ep, unless he's that dtf haha), make sure it wasn't a phase or a fantasy due to being stuck in a relationship, and that's probably the only theory I can accept because it's vaguely romantic at least, and also I need to believe that his feelings are real, which is something that tends to be hinted at in 307-308 imo, so there's that consistency at least...

Speaking of consistency!!! I know I'm just hurting myself at this point but I wanted to make a quick check on the timeline... Surprisingly the show actually manages to speak the truth, Timothée did spend 4 months with the team (he arrived in the summer, two months later around September/October - remember that the months were mixed up in 303-304 - he starts dating Morgane for two months, and here we are!). So WHY would they instantly ruin that effort with the most random line this show's ever delivered:

"Et bah moi, je me suis séparée de Ludo il y a neuf mois..."

GIRRRRRRRRL, you spent two months on a couch after your breakup. Then, admitting that 205 to 208 happened in like a week which is in itself a ridiculous assumption, you left the PJ for six months. And here we are, four months later, as dutifully reminded by Timothée. And I didn't even extrapolate here, I just took point blank the elements that the show gave me.

2 + 6 + 4 = TWELVE FUCKING MONTHS BARE MINIMUM. Was it that hard to follow up? Jesus Christ.

And since I'm on the inconsistency chapter, the way TIBER is written on Morgane and Adam's wrists suggests that it's Morgane who was holding the pen because of the letters' orientation, but in this case she wrote on her left wrist. While she's left-handed. Too bad, huh?

So. Its kind of slow, it ties in the Alma's Fury shiz I did. Technically, they have their memories, its just sort of repressed? Like they have to 'unlock' their memories. Bruno actually plays a huge role in helping, because Alma and Pedro have to watch the kids, Pepa is in no condition to try and help, and Julieta just has no memory of the husbands, so its likely that she'll attack them thinking they're going to attack first, since that's what she's used to.

They have to go to different castles like in the of Maroon games amd collect stars, stars that'll unlock more and more memories. The final three stars are actually the hardest. One is literally in the jewel that's on Pedro's crown. One in somewhere in Alma's castle, and it takes forever to find. And the third one? They have to defeat a final boss of sorts in order to get the last star; and the final boss is Alma herself.

Now she's not even aware. While everyone does have most of their memories, the most important ones still have yet to be recovered, and they're attached to the last star. Felix is the only one capable of brawling with Alma and Mirabel can help him, seeing that she's probably the best bet at getting close to Alma.

Hi sugar. Yes, but Louis doesn't have a label right now. And given that Eleanor and Freddie were both at shows, he's really not "free of stunts". But, yes, Harry is thoroughly tied to this stunt. I think Holivia benefits Sony just as much, if not more than WB. And I would imagine film Harry's agent is among the people encouraging the bearding. Everyone has a stake in Harry Styles, the product. They're all doing their best to make sure it sells as well as possible.
