pumpkin and tiger
summary: what happens when you ask your boyfriend to tickle you... pairing: hoshi x reader genre: smut, established relationship warnings: tickling kink, mentions of past kink-shaming/break-up, pet names, bondage, established safeword (not used), fingering, piv sex, creampie, dumbification (if you squint), overstimulation, dirty talk, lowkey subspace, implied switch!hoshi (he doms here tho) word count: 1.3k
You are literally shaking just picturing how you'd ask your boyfriend the unthinkable. You have a very normal, healthy sex life with him. Nothing out of the ordinary. Sure, he asks you to call him "tiger" in bed every once in a while, but other than that, everything has been pretty mild so far. You're pretty sure that your kink is somewhat...untraditional.
Not that you are not satisfied with the way things have been so far. But you really want to try something new. The problem is, you are not sure how your boyfriend will take it. In a past relationship, you've been not only kink-shamed but directly broken up with because of your interest. But Hoshi has been beyond perfect. He wouldn't ditch you over something like this, right? Even if it wasn't his cup of tea, he could just say so and you'd drop the subject.
So, you finally gather enough courage to bring up your question.
"Hosh, can I ask you something kinda weird?"
"Sure thing, pumpkin. What's up?" Hoshi listens to you attentively.
"Have you heard of a tickling kink?"
"Hm? What's that?"
"Well, it's basically when one person in a relationship enjoys being tickled and the other one does the tickling. It's not just about the tickling itself but...the total loss of control and helplessness can be a turn on. Also, it makes you giggle and release endorphins," you suddenly feel so silly, sharing a mini-lecture about the benefits of tickling.
"Oh, that sounds interesting," Hoshi responds calmly as if you are telling him about the weather. "Where did you read that?"
"Just like...the Internet and stuff. So, um, the reason I'm saying this is that I've been interested in it. Being tickled, I suppose, it can be fun, I think. I mean, I haven't tried it before, but I'd like to...if that's something you'd like to participate in, of course."
"Alright, that can be arranged!" Hoshi replies enthusiastically.
"Really? You're not breaking up with me?" you breathe out a sigh of relief, not believing your luck.
"Over that? Isn't that a foolish reason to break up with someone?"
"Uh...to be honest, I've been broken up with for suggesting that."
"No way! Give me name and address, I just wanna talk with your shitty ex," Hoshi threatens, his fists adorably clenched into fists, making you laugh.
"No need, I'm just glad it led me to a handsome tiger like you," you hug Hoshi affectionately and he ruffles your hair.
"I'm even more glad you're so into my tiger thing," Hoshi grins widely. "So, do you wanna try the tickling thing right now?"
"Right now?" you blink in shock.
"I mean, sure, unless you have something better to do?"
"No, I mean, I don't! But shouldn't we discuss it more first?" you are suddenly panicking. You've never done this before and are so thrilled, but you've read that it's good to be prepared when engaging in new kinks.
"Oh, right! Like...where exactly do you want to be tickled and stuff?" Hoshi is eager to learn more about your preferences.
"Um, anywhere, I guess. As far as I know feet, armpits and belly are the most ticklish parts."
"Yeah, sounds about right," Hoshi hums in agreement. "We'll need a safeword, yeah? In case it becomes too much for you."
Oh my goodness, he really is the best guy ever.
"Spider!"
"WHERE?" Hoshi yells in fear, looking around.
"Nowhere, haha, I meant, how about spider as the safeword?"
"Ah, yeah, sure, let's use that," he calms down and tries to play it cool.
"Do you think you'd be comfortable to tie me up?" you ask nervously.
"Tie you up?" Hoshi repeats.
"So that I can't fight back?"
"Wow, um...if that's what you want."
You nod excitedly, still in disbelief that he's actually willing to give this a shot for you.
"Thank you so much!" you squeal and give him another hug.
"I haven't done anything yet, pumpkin!" he chuckles and kisses your cheek fondly. "But I'll try my best to bring your fantasy to reality. As for you, don't hesitate to call out "spider" if things become unbearable, okay?"
"Yes, sir! I mean, Mr. Tiger. I mean..."
"Call me whatever you want tonight, my dear. I'll take care of you."
You gulp on air because you trust him unwaveringly but you've never done this before and it can be unnerving.
"Arms up, baby," Hoshi commands you easily and you immediately obey him.
When he takes off your top and bra, the first thing he does is tie your wrists up with a makeshift rope made from the straps your bra.
"Feel good?"
"Yeah," you confirm.
Then, your boyfriend takes off your jeans and panties, this time using your panties to bind your ankles together to prevent much movement.
"These'll probably rip but oh well," Hoshi shrugs with a teasing smirk.
"I'll try my best not to wriggle too much," you respond.
"Oh, you'll have no choice," Hoshi smiles devlishly but it is too late for regrets.
He starts tickling you so suddenly you have no time to react or attempt to defend yourself. First, attacking your armpits, eliciting adorable giggles from you.
"Ha-ha, stoppp, please, ha-ha, I can't..."
"But I just started?" Hoshi reminds you and continues the sweet torment with his fingers.
Fuck, it feels so good.
"You know what to say if you really want me to stop," he tilts his head to the side.
"I know," you confirm but don't say the safeword so he keeps going.
Next, Hoshi tickles your belly, making you squeal from joy.
"Oh my gosh, Hosh, p-please, hah-"
"You like it?"
"S-so m-much," you manage to utter through your laughter.
"Good," he smiles proudly.
After he pays enough attention to your tummy, he begins to tickle your feet. Damn. This is the worst. And simultaneously the best. Pain and pleasure melt into one.
"N-no, f-fuck, s-stop it," you cry out to him.
The word "spider" is on the tip of your tongue but at the same time, you don't want this to end so soon.
"Need a break?"
You shake your head vigorously, determined to enjoy this to the fullest.
Hoshi unties your ankles and pushes your legs apart, using one hand to finger your pussy and another to keep tickling your belly. The overstimulation is too much your brain doesn't know what to focus on. You cum so fast and so hard you feel your entire body shaking under your boyfriend's skilled hands. Not giving you time to recover, he starts caressing your clit lightly, as if tickling it.
"Mmmh, p-please," you murmur weakly.
"What is it, pumpkin? What are you asking me for?"
"Dunno," you sigh.
"Already gon' stupid on me, huh, pretty girl? Don't have energy to think?"
"N-no," you barely manage.
"Well, you're still talking so you must have some life left in ya."
Removing his fingers from your wetness, he unzips his jeans in a hurry and takes his cock out, pumping it up a couple of times.
"W-want it," you beg desperately.
"Pumpkin wants tiger's cock? Where do you want it, sweet girl?"
"Inside me, please," you do your best to ask politely.
"Well, then, I better stuff my sweet pumpkin with meat," Hoshi laughs at his own silly joke and enters you smoothly.
As he fucks into you, he doesn't forget to tickle your armpits and belly to make it feel even more intense and enjoyable.
You laugh and you scream and you moan, overwhelmed by the variety of sensations you're experiencing. Soon enough, you cum again and Hoshi does so as well, stuffing you nice and full as he promised.
Deeming this enough for a first time attempt, he slides out of you, putting an end to all this tickling. He hurriedly brings you water and helps clean you up as much as possible.
"Are you okay? Was that too much?" Hoshi asks in genuine concern as he cuddles you softly.
"It was...more than perfect!" you exclaim in amazement and kiss his cheek. "It felt so good I can't explain it."
"I mean...how about you show me next time?"

hello hello i was wondering if you have any pet peeves regarding frev or art stuff people do that put you off?
Interesting question 👀
Well with Frev, nothing in the community esp annoys me that much- I think I'm just so damn delighted to have found ppl who are into a niche thing as much as me! And everyone I talk to often is so nice and we ttly get each other, I got no complaints 💖
With Frev on a wider scale though, my pet peeve are these very patronising comments I get from non-frev enthusiasts mostly on IG. They always follow a pattern of being a (generally myth-based or reductive) critique of Robespierre, in the form of a question. Smth like 'wasnt that guy a dictator?' And then when I answer these questions, normally trying to debunk etc. Without fail each time, the commenter will reply to me with random facts, really emphasising the dates and names. It always comes across as if they're testing me (esp when these facts are put in the form of a question), or trying to prove they know more than me. And I have a feeling that if I was a cis-man, with a less cutey art-style, I wouldn't get responses like that.
With art related things, the kind of behaviour I dislike is generally more related to work, because it's my full time job, so these things pre-occupy me the most...
-The consistent dismissal from western publishers/editors, of various techniques and styles that are influenced by manga: Big expressions, rhythmic pacing, expressive hand drawn speech bubbles. These are just some of *many* examples that are sharing the 'feelings/emotions first' approach that manga has. This approach is what I love about comics. This approach is what has made manga the leading comic market all over the world.
Editors for whatever reason, really dislike this approach lol
If its feelings-first, they are quick to either designate you as a childrens-artist only, or will do their best to make you remove every technique that heightens emotions too much. So you'll notice most manga-influenced western comics remain in the middle grade, sometimes YA genres at bookshops. But pls listen editors, people *love* this kinda stuff! Manga sells more than western comics. Webtoons are huge, and follow these techniques generally. You will have so many best sellers on your hands, if only you'd stop with this very Western fear of feelings and push those stories a little further!
-The only other art thing that rly puts me off is like, heirarchy behaviour lol Art is hard enough without bringing all of that kinda stuff into it.
I'm a community-over-being the best kinda person. And some people do get very competitive, in the art/small press world. Such ppl will rapidly change their behaviour towards others depending on what they think they can get out of a relationship. Some people take sides in arguments based purely on popularity, or amp up their enthusiasm towards someone they think is gonna get them a good review/ a place at a comic con, or who is presently the most popular artist etc etc. Someone who was once really friendly with you will suddenly ignore you, for various reasons.
In my experience, someone ttly changed their relationship with me once *I got a book deal*, so for them it wasnt about being around the most popular people, but in fact, I think they needed to be around someone who wasn't as successful as them. Since they like completely ghosted me after a fairly close friendship, I'll never know for sure. I only came to that conclusion because more than one person had been through a similar experience and that was why. So thats a thing that happens....It's complex, and emotionally draining.
Anyway, I dont like it when ppl build relationships or a community around these factors- I prefer when ppl are upfront/honest and simply either like or dislike your work in an upfront and honest way, if that makes sense 😅
#put under cut cos it was long and two separate topics dont wanna spam#sorry this was long#and no esp hot takes lol#art#frev#webcomic

note : finished my first term of college so i thought i'd put something out. not super duper proud of this, but it's something. so here you go!! enjoy <3
you absolutely despised study groups. you weren’t a massive fan of studying, of course, but doing it in groups was the bane of your existence. if you were studying, you preferred to do it in the library. there were specific sections, marked with signs; a person talking in a big red circle with a line through it. headphones on, laptop open with your pathetic amount of coloured pens.
however, every monday morning before your 11 am lecture you found yourself in the student commons, spiral notebook on your lap, trying desperately to take notes and your friend would not shut up. she was going on about some girl she’d met at the bar the night before and you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
“are you listening to me?” you weren’t, but she didn’t need to know that. you nodded, not looking up from your notes, and she apparently didn’t care enough to press, continuing on as if you weren’t even there. you had been friends with her since high school, and she’d introduced you to another two people you shared a class with. you weren’t particularly close with any of them, but they were the only people you knew.
if you weren’t studying, you were working uptown at marcel’s, the swankiest bar that would hire a uni student. it was classes, then waiting on finance men who weren’t rich enough to afford the good stuff. after that was a two hour bus ride home, then taking care of your mum before more schoolwork, and then collapsing into bed at one in the morning, only to wake up for more classes. your day punctuated with your tedious friends.
the timer on your phone went off, and you sighed. “i better go. have to talk to professor marks about the homework,”
they waved you off, barely even noticing your impending absence. you deflated a bit, but by the time you were out in the sun you felt a bit better. you’d been feeling somehow trapped and also invisible for the first twenty-odd years of your life. no one had ever seen you before, not like it didn’t in the movies. you’d been a comfortable level of lonely your entire life, and that didn’t change just because you now had a group of uni friends who shared the same ambitions as you.
but being out in the quad, with the breeze flowing through the grass, made you optimistic. there was two boys at a wooden picnic table, textbooks spread between them as they exchanged soft smiles and jokes about what they were working on. there was a group of people relaxing on the grass. a girl with headphones gazing at the clouds. a campus full of people just waiting to be befriended, and yet there you were. three years in, and still with the same group of people you didn’t click with.
you reached the building your next lecture was in, another twenty minutes until class started. the door was unlocked though, and you slipped inside quietly. professor marks was your favourite teacher, but she also wasn’t alone.
your class had about fifty students in it, so you didn’t know him by name, but you had seen the guy she was talking to. he sat in the middle of the room, answered enough questions to get the 5% participation grade but not enough that he got taken note of.
if someone had asked if you knew him, the best way to refer to him would be “the tall one.”
professor marks saw you and gave a chaste smile, turning back to your classmate to let him finish speaking. they talked for a few minutes, both nodding, before he stepped back politely to let you have your opening. however, before you got a chance to talk to her, her phone rang. “ugh,” she groaned, giving you a sympathetic look. “one second, so sorry.”
so you stayed there with what’s-his-name as your teacher stepped out of the room to take her phone call. you went to pull out your phone but got distracted by your classmate saying your name. you looked up at him, he gave you a sheepish smile. “sorry. that is your name, right? i didn’t get it wrong? that’d be embarrassing.”
you just nodded, hoping he would introduce himself. “i’m wilbur.” oh, how your prayers were answered for once. “i’ve seen you around. you’re in my geography class, aren’t you?”
god, you were embarrassing. you had noticed him in this class but not the other one. you nodded. “yeah, sorry. you’re wilbur. of course i know you. you’re in that band, right? they play in the quad sometimes?”
you were hoping it was the same wilbur. you remember thinking it was a weird name when you saw it on the poster. him and a few other names you didn’t recognise. surely there were not two people named wilbur in the one university, not with how old fashioned it was.
the relief was palpable when he nodded. “yeah! you’ve seen us play?”
“you guys are really good,” you weren’t lying this time. “you played cyberbully mom club.” wilbur’s eyes lit up. “i love them. you did a really good job. what are you doing taking geography courses when you can sing like that?”
he laughed, bring a hand up to the front of his face, fluffing his hair nervously. “someone of great taste i see. what about you? i saw one of your paintings in the exhibition in the hall. why aren’t you getting an art degree?”
you flushed, looking down. none of your friends even knew you painted, and yet there was wilbur. 6’6” wilbur with his los campesinos jumper and his scuffed doc martens, quietly loving your favourite bands and your art. “guess this just seemed right?”
“i get that. i’m a big believer of fate,” you looked back up towards him, his warm brown eyes already looking at yours behind his round glasses. people had started filtering in, and your friends were gesturing at you impatiently to come sit up the back with them. “you should go, your friends want you.”
“i don’t want them.”
you were sitting down on the end of the row before you even realised what you’d said. wilbur just laughed, taking his usual seat, eyes shining. you sat through the next ninety minutes, looking at the back of wilbur’s head.
“now, i’m going to let you guys pick groups for this project. three people, though. no groups of four. don’t even ask. i’ll give you the last fifteen minutes to work that out.”
great. a group of three. you didn’t even need to turn to your friends before they were muttering sorries, and you were stuck looking around the room for other people in your same predicament. you didn’t have to look for long, making eye contact with wilbur almost immediately. he waved you down and you hesitantly made your way down to his row.
“wanna work together?” his smile was so bright that you couldn’t even think of turning him down. he was charming, he liked the same things as you. but more than that, he saw you. he saw you better than your friends over the last three plus years did.
“i’d like nothing more, will.” you replied, and wilbur grinned. “you sure, though? you probably have other friends in this class.”
“i do,” he admitted. “however, i want to get to know you better, and i was hoping this might give me an excuse to ask you out. or, if that’s not something you’re interested in, then you are also more than welcome to join me and a few of my friends in the courtyard after class, purely platonic.”
his words were quick, but you understood every syllable. you didn’t have time to meet after class, you had a rare hour off after your last class before you needed to grab the bus to marcel’s. “i would love to, but i have work every day this week, and next week. and every week, and the bus is hours long. i’m sorry.”
wilbur nodded. “if this is your way of letting me down gently, i totally understand that. uh, but-”
“no,” you said quickly. “it is. i work seven days a week, it’s not you,” he didn’t seem convinced, still convinced you were trying to be polite. he didn’t want you to lie to him if you truly weren’t interested. you’d had one conversation, but he felt giddy when you made eye contact with him. it was dumb, probably, but he really wanted to know you better. he didn’t want to press you. you could see that, so you tried again. “however, i think my schedule’s just become more open.” you glanced upwards at where your friends were sitting a few rows back. “i’m free monday morning?”
wilbur’s face lit up, still hesitant. “you sure? because if you’re not interested then it’s fine, really. i won’t give you a hard time about it. promise. you can still meet my friends, if you’d like. or if you want to we can pretend that the other person doesn’t exist.”
“no.” you said decidedly. “i’m free monday morning, and i would love if we could meet somewhere?”
he smiled at you. “i can’t wait.” you’d never looked forward to homework so much, and from the bright look on wilbur’s face, he hadn’t either.

When you're all alone, I will reach for you.
Synopsis: You got ghosted by someone to which you didn't handle well, and now your roommate takes care of you 👍
Genre: fluffy fluff, comfort, a little angst??
A/n: TBH, I wrote this cause I actually did get ghosted by my crush recently (this might be me coping), so yeah 🤗 but hey, real-life experience makes the writing more realistic mweheheh (except i dont actually have a kaveh 😔) I like to write stuff based on my experiences and i love mah boy kaveh, anyways first post and sorry for any grammatical errors english isn't my first language!! Enjoy reading <33
Your crush had recently ghosted you, leaving you confused and depressed causing you to not want to leave your bed a rot there to the point your roommate, Kaveh, got worried. Whenever he returned from his work, he would usually catch you on the couch watching TV, but it had been weeks since he last saw you other than inside your room to the point that it felt like the place was filled with melancholy without yout presence, so he decided to check up on you.
"Hey, just checking up. Is everything alright? You haven't gone outside your room for a while now, can't help but be worried." Kaveh knocked on the door. The light from the living room shining past the slightly opened door to your pitch black room "I may not know what you're going through, but is there anything I can do to help?" He offered.
You jumped from the fact that kaveh had suddenly turned up to your room. You didn't think he'd be back this early since usually he would come back late due to him being an architect with possibly loads of projects, but even so, you covered yourself under the sheets not wanting him to look at you at this state which he did not take as an answer, he approached you and sat at the edge of the bed.
"Look, I won't force you to tell me what happened, but this is getting ridiculous it has been weeks. Could you at least let me take care of you? I can't see you in such a state," kaveh murmured. You can tell from the hint of his voice that he seemed like he genuinely cared about your well being, he had always been like that, caring about others more than himself, so much that sometimes you had to scold him about people taking advantage of his kindness.
But this time, it was different. It was you now who needed scolding for letting yourself rot in your room, skipping meals, ignoring and locking yourself from everyone over some person who broke your heart. This was the first time kaveh had to take care of you. He never saw you in such a vulnerable state (well maybe because you prefer to hide it) or it would always be the other way around because Kaveh would always put others first before himself which can sometimes not place a positive impact for his own good.
After a moment of silence, you realize he isn't leaving until you give him an answer, you slowly got up and let the blanket fall, revealing your puffy eyes and wet cheeks from the tears, pillow stained and crumpled tissues everywhere, your skin pale everything about you right now was so not you, you let out a hiccup and covered your face with your hands due to embarrassment, Kaveh gently rubbed your back making you feel more comforted as you sobbed more "I'm stupid, kaveh.. I wish I never wasted my time," you cried out to him.
He was listening to you tentatively, still rubbing your back while your words almost made no sense due to your cries and hiccups he was still listening, understanding your state, and trying his best to comfort you "Hey now, don't say that okay? You're not stupid at all. In fact, I think you did amazing. I've seen you giving all your efforts, and he just failed to see it, and it's not your fault," he admitted, truth to be told, he would always be the first person to hear what you have to say about your crush all the time even if it was a slight interaction, He had seen lengths you'd go through just to make your crush happy.
He removed your hands that were covering your face. Your vision was blurry due to your tears, but you could still see his figure wiping your tears with his thumb. "There there, you'll be okay. Trust me, I won't let you ruin yourself just cause one person broke your heart." he continued comforting you through it all to which you sobbed a bit. You thought that you'd have to go through this alone, but seeing your roommate now by your side gave you hope.
"I may not have much experience with this.. love thing, but I do know that not all people in this world are the same. You will meet someone who will notice all your efforts, so don't cry, okay?" Cheered kaveh, trying to find all the right words to say, all his words comforted your heart which was once shattered you couldn't help but pull him for a hug and let a few happy tears "thanks kaveh... for being here, I know you also have your fair share of problems to deal with, but you had always been so caring, " you whispered, with your hands around his shoulder.
"I'd do anything to see your 'too much energy' side again. In fact, I miss it, seeing you tell your day every time after I come back from work, so seeing you lock yourself away from everyone was devastating, " he whispered near your ear "you also have always been there for me when I always rant about my work, and I want to be there for you" he rubbed your back comfortingly confessing sweet nothings.
He slowly pulled away from the hug. "Come on now, you hadn't eaten any decent meal, right? How about I cook us your favourite meal for dinner?" He offered with a genuine smile. At that moment, you felt your heart skip a beat. You eventually nodded slowly. Your stomach had been rumbling all day as he gently took your hand, and both of you headed to the kitchen.
The light was almost blinding due to you being cooped up in your dark room for weeks, but the atmosphere felt comforting. The air felt fresher than the suffocating room. As you reached the kitchen, you sat down on one of the chairs as Kaveh prepared all the ingredients to cook your favourite meal. It's just a simple activity, really, but seeing your roommate so dedicated to cheer you up made you feel warm inside, he was smiling genuinely everytime he made eye contact with you whilst he was cooking the food.
Only then had you realized you were falling for your roommate.

Respond to the following prompts out of character, then tag others you'd like to get to know a little bit better.
Roleplayer name: Nine
Roleplayer pronouns: She/Her
Muse name(s): Alkas & Imp Nine (TBA) / Rosie (In another blog)
▼ More under the cut cause this is a bit long.
Preferred communication: Tumblr. Unless we plot some stuff together and I’m comfortable with you then I’d move to discord but often I won’t initiate on friend requests cause I’m shy. You'll likely have to be the one to send it or bring it up.
Experience: Been on and off RPing since I was able to type on a PC, so a bit over 20+ years ranging from chatrooms to paragraph forums to MMOs to Discord to Tumblr and even some VR thrown in there. Though I’ve helped run a lot of writing groups, I led one for several years that I retired from which was aimed at helping newer RPers learn the ropes based out of an MMO. My reasoning for retiring was simply a lot of pressure as it was around 500+ members at the time and my interest in the MMO was dying out. Though I’ve recently returned to Tumblr, before the nsfw purge I ran fanfiction and headcanon blogs for various fandoms and some light RPing. So I have a lot of scattered experience in fandoms and OC works.
Preferred roleplay type: I’m very flexible honestly as I’ll mirror who I’m vibing with whether it be just dialogue back and forth or paragraphs or even novellas! I don’t mind mixing up genres either as they are welcome to respond to me at their preferred type even if I’m not matching though I’ll often try to match to not pressure them.
Pet peeves & dealbreakers: Honestly, after leading a group of teaching beginners in writing there is not a lot that bothers me. I think a pet peeve I could say that really irks me is metagaming in the sense of not letting me play my character at all and basically writing out all my character’s actions for me unless discussed upon ooc for that scene.
Deal breakers for me are pretty common ones found in roleplaying. I will not tolerate someone claiming exclusivity over me as an RP partner and not allowing me to RP with others. I also tend to play combative or villain characters so someone forcing me to change them just so they can interact is really not something I can do with the exception of censoring certain topics or content for the sake of ooc comfort!
Loose example: I will not make my character nicer just so you can bang them (this one comes from the experience of being asked this more than once in past experiences before Alkas). Gotta earn that development if you want it. Otherwise, I’m all for toxic dynamics and bad endings.~
Other than that, making sure there’s a clear line between IC and OOC is a must. I am not my character and I will dip into themes I do not always see as okay morally.
Best time to write: I work as a 24/7 in-home caregiver, so honestly anytime is good for me. I have to occasionally leave my PC unexpectedly as I’m always on call and I also am awake at odd hours that shift everyday, so I cannot predict a schedule.
Are you like your muse? Personality wise? Heck no, Alkas is almost my polar opposite which is partially the intention. She’s very rude and abrasive and combative to the point she’s unreasonable and aggressively insecure. I think I would cry if I ever acted like she does to another person.
Of course, there are some parts of myself I have in her personality like we’re both Aromantic (though she’s Hypersexual on top of that and I’m Asexual (sex-positive). We both tend to be really awkward when it comes to actual friendships and keeping up with them, too. I also did put her living life close to mine since it was a RL reference just to make it easier on myself in her birthplace and ethnicity. Though I don’t know a lot about motorcycles, I certainly am going to be getting one soon and of course, I love greasers.
Physical wise? I shamefully admit her human form (and body type) is greatly based on myself. You never see it though, so it’s fineee.
For my imp, she's the gremlin that lives in my head based on intrusive and impulsive thoughts. For Rosie, I just try to stick to canon, so kinda in the kind motherly vibe cause people sometimes say I'm like that I guess?

hello my good friend mx surge! what kind of music do you like/prefer, genre-wise? got any favorite songs? and then can i get some favorite lyrics? smile! and. tell me what characters/stuff the lyrics make you think of if you'd like to go that far! doesn't have to be any characters I'd know about or even any at all. i am Curious <- all /nf! do as much as you like. i love asking questions and hearing your thoughts 🫡🫡 —marley
hello my wonderful friend marley! eeee I love talking about music. this is gonna be a long one
(disclaimer: I am admittedly Very Bad at genres, so I'm gonna give you artists and maybe you can decide for yourself what genres they are)
AJR is a big one, I could talk for days about AJR. they're one of the only bands I've been to a concert for (very very good concert, very fun, very dramatic, highly recommend, they are clearly showmen, not just musicians, and that makes for entertaining shows). I'm unironically following someone on tumblr who posts ONLY AJR stuff because every time I see the name "AJR" it's like a visceral reaction that makes me grin. ooh, also Twenty One Pilots. I love then. looking forward to their new album
I listen to a lot of broadway. some of my favorites are Be More Chill, Mean Girls, Six, and Titanic the Musical, just to name a few. I love seeing live shows especially- I saw Something Rotten not too long ago, and the Nick was BRILLIANT it. was, admittedly, a high school production, but nonetheless. he danced a lot, even unchoreographed dancing in the background, just like, vibing, and it was so obvious that he was just having a good time and enjoyed being there (the actor, that is, not the character) and I just liked watching him
oh, and Sleeping at Last! I first discovered them by their Atlas: Enneagram album, because I'm a nerd and adore personality tests (I'm an INTP and a 5 in case anyone was wondering), but I've been slowly absorbing the rest of their music, and it's all so beautiful
favorite songs... hm. I can't not say "2085," the closer to AJR's most recent album, and perhaps the most emotionally devastating song they have released as of yet (which is really saying something). best lyrics from that song are undoubtedly the last bit, where they say "you gotta get better, you've all that I got," then it gets softer and the lyrics change to "I gotta get better, I'm all that I've got." HEARTBREAKING /pos. I mean, I like that part enough that I wrote a whole fic inspired by it. one of my very few angst fics. "All That I've Got," a Minnesconsin fic (link here if you're curious). by the way, the first song of that album, "Maybe Man," is also a banger, highly recommend
I love "96000" from "In the Heights" (I think it's only in the movie version, not the musical version? not 100% sure though). ooh this song makes me crazy. this song... ok. I can't talk about this song without being a bit weird about it, but stick with me. this song always makes me think of the people on the Titanic. I read a book once with fictionalized versions of a few of the Titanic's officers and crew members, and once I was listening to this song and when it got to Sonny's verse, all I could think about was how exactly it matched fifth officer Harold Lowe's vibes. it's not really the lyrics, but several of the verses just remind me of various crew members' vibes. and it's. it's just a great song
"Air Catcher" by TOP. that's another wonderful song. always makes me think of Iowa to Wisconsin, for no particular reason. best lyric is "I don't believe in talking just to breathe," which is an idea that always appealed to me
Tyler Joseph is a BRILLIANT lyricist, actually. other great lyrics by him:
"our words are loud but now I'm talking action" (Neon Gravestones)
"for us to think is to be alive / and I will try with every rhyme / to come across like I am dying / to let you know you need to try to think" (Car Radio)
"death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit" (Heavydirtysoul)
"haunted by a couple big mistakes / she covers all the dents with the way she decorates" (Redecorate)
"like an "I love you" / that isn't words / like a song he wrote that's never heard" (Shy Away)
I love "despair" by leo. always makes me think of florida talking to loui (in a queerplatonic way, of course). another great floui song is "Tightrope" from The Greatest Showman, but I picture this one as loui to florida
holy moly this is even longer than expected. I'll leave you with this for now. you've probably gotten a good grasp of my taste by now haha. thank you sm for the ask, I had a delightful time answering :D
#ajr#twenty one pilots#tyler joseph#musicals#broadway#the maybe man#maybe man#something rotten#in the heights#titanic#harold lowe#wttt florida#wttt louisiana#wttt floui#wttt iowa#wttt wisconsin#marley!!#<- yeah that's right I'm giving you a tag. I'm astonished I haven't done so sooner#ask box

Hello! I've been thinking about getting into magical girl anime recently and I noticed you reblogging stuff from a lot of different ones, so I figured it'd make sense to come to you with this: Do you have any good starter magical girl anime recs? I'd prefer something light and fun if possible :>
OH GOODNESS I am more than happy to recommend you some magical girl anime, I LOVE magical girls, it's one of my favorite anime genres!! I hope you don't mind me answering this on my blog haha, gives me an excuse to ramble x3
My favorite magical girl franchise is Pretty Cure - most often abbreviated and refered to as Precure. It's a sprawling franchise that's been going on for the past 21 years now so it SEEMS daunting, but the cool thing about Precure is each season is its own self contained story with its own plot and cast of characters. There are two continuities with two seasons (the original Futari wa Precure and its sequel Futari wa Precure Max Heart, and Yes Precure 5 and its sequel Yes Precure 5 GoGo!), but otherwise each continuity is one season, usually between 47-50 episodes long (each season lasts one full year of broadcast time).
The best way to start with Precure imo is to look at summaries/character designs and see which one sounds most interesting to you - there's no "order" to watch them in since they're all their own stories! Precure is a children's franchise so things are generally light enough, but there are definitely some seasons that touch on/deal with heavier topics. If you'd like my personal recommendations for "light and fun" seasons of Precure, I'd recommend Smile Precure and KiraKira Precure a la Mode!
Smile Precure is about Miyuki, a girl who loves fairy tales, being tasked by the fairy Candy from Marchenland to assemble a team of 5 Precure to collect Cure Decor and revive the queen. It's bright, cheerful, and silly - I love the central cast and art style so much! A word about this season - this season was dubbed into English under the title "Glitter Force", which changed all names to English ones and cut out a handful of episodes (I believe the ones most heavily focused on Japanese culture that the dub team couldn't easily change to anything else). I personally do not recommend watching it like this! In all cases as far as Precure is concerned I recommend watching the original subtitled Japanese version.
KiraKira Precure a la Mode is about Ichika, a girl who loves sweets and dreams of becoming a patisserie. She meets Pekorin, a fairy that can detect "kirakiraru", an energy contained in sweets that represent their feelings, which evil fairies start to steal. Ichika becomes a Precure to protect the sweets and forms a team of Precure that open up their own mobile sweet shop together. One of the things that's unique about this season are the fights - one of Precure's claims to fame is the high amount of physical fighting/hand-to-hand combat it contains. KiraKira tones that element down after previous seasons were seen as "too intense", so the fights in this season are more magic/special attack based. This annoyed some people, but I personally think KiraKira's a great, fun, unique entry to the franchise! (And the fights came back next season, so it's not like they were gone forever lol).
Apart from Precure, I'd also recommend Ojamajo Doremi!
It's about Doremi Harukaze, the self proclaimed "unluckiest pretty girl in the world"; one day she stumbles upon a mysterious shop run by an old woman who looks like a witch. When Doremi calls her out, she turns into a "magic frog" - she WAS indeed a witch, and this is what happens to witches who are discovered in the human realm. The witch, Majo Rika, therefore enlists Doremi as a witch apprentice to help her turn back to normal. Ojamajo Doremi is really special - it's a more episodic series (tho there is an overarching plot each season) that really cares about its world and characters, it's so well written and wonderfully charming and funny and warm, really can't recommend it enough!
And for a final recommendation for now, I'll mention Cardcaptor Sakura!
A true classic of the genre, this is about a girl named Sakura Kinomoto who discovers a mysterious book in her father's library; upon opening it she scatters the deck of cards contained within and releases the creature that was sealing them. This creature, Cerberus (but you can call him Kero-chan), informs Sakura that she must now track down and capture these cards, called the Clow Cards, to prevent disaster from occuring. The card capturing element grants it a "monster of the week" flavor, but this is another sweet series focused on Sakura and her relationships first and foremost, and it's a real treat.
I think these are enough to get you started! If you want more recommendations definitely don't hesitate to ask - I started with these because you asked for light and happy, but I also enjoy darker magical girl anime as well so if you ever want to explore that route I'd have recommendations there too!

The isekai genre but interesting
Ok I know isekai is overrated and all yada yada but there's been one specific idea that someone close to me proposed an just stuck.
So, what if the main character had dissociative identity disorder?
Like, think about it. The body dies irl and gets transported to a fantasy land with demons and witches and whatnot, and the alters are scattered across the country. They can still communicate due to their souls being LITERALLY connected but they don't recognise the landmarks they give each other; implying how they're all in different cities, states, kingdoms, etc.
So you'd at first follow one of the alter's journey, and as the alter finds the rest of the system the story switches povs to that alter that was found
And when the whole system is complete they all gain this extra ability that makes them able to 'front', where one alter can be seen while the others are able to hang out in their headspace and stuff.
And for the plot I was thinking of like a system's body dying in the real world, and their souls get transported to another world, but they all get separated. The system is small, consisting of 4 people. A 16 year old boy, a girl 3 years younger than him, a shapeshifter that prefers to stay a blob with glowing green eyes and a young demon with white hair.
The storyline follows the 16 year old dealing with the fact that what he considered his family (the system) is far away from him, and the fact that he can't see them. He's happy that he's in his actual body (being in the body of a girl a few years younger than him back in his past life was REALLY uncomfortable at first) but he misses easily slipping out of the world and talking to the other alters. He comes from a poor family and helps his parents (who are not abusive like the ones from his past life) out with work and ends up signing up to be a butler for one of the nobles.
He befriends the younger son of one of the nobles and manage to get a scholarship to a prestigious school thanks to being the younger son's butler and meets the first alter after 16 years of separation, the girl 3 years younger than him. I can just imagine the girl running up to him and hugging him from behind and when they both turn to look at each other they basically cry together since it's been so long since they've last seen each other.
They both would meet the shapeshifter and young demon later on when the two of them gets captured, with the shapeshifter basically throwing a hissy fit as the students gawk and try to poke the both of em. The chapter could end on like a cliffhanger with the 16 year old hearing about the shapeshifter and demon and then it switches povs to the shapeshifter.
Now obviously since the two non-humans had essentially been kidnapped the shapeshifter tries their best to try and protect the younger demon and basically chemically burns anyone who comes remotely close to them. Since it's in 1st person pov you could see the desperation and overprotectiveness of the shapeshifter to the demon and how theyre basically on the verge of a panic attack when the 16 yr old and the girl waltz into the room and basically makes the blob freeze.
And yknow typical isekai anime style everyone wants to kill the eViL bAd dEmOns and shit until the 16 year old claims that the demon's life is connected to both him and the girl. This kickstarts a mystery/thriller plot as the now-completed system try to figure out just why demons are so hated, while trying to deal with how the hatred of demons makes the system a target for bullying and shite like that. Only to find out that the reasons all of the magical species (like elves and furries I guess-?) united with the humans to destroy the demon race was to shift the blame of humans to another species that was AT FIRST, innocent. After some human intervention, demons had became what they are today, aka bloodthirsty war-mongering beasts who are brutes and such (if the rumors are to be believed).
The only reason the non humans of the system (the shapeshifter and demon) aren't like that is cuz theyre not from the world. So watch as the system basically force their asses in difficult politics and shoehorn world peace because 'goddamnit our last life had too much of that bullshit'.
Also to make things spicier: idk if this is just me torturing the first mc or the guy I'm basing the 16 yr old boy being persistent but the 16 year old and the noble he's working under are def fucking-
#did#writerblr#isekai#idk why i did this#this looked better in my head#lord whoever knows me irl dont read this shit-#promtps#ik isekai is overrated but i just couldnt help myself#lol we really throwing a bl plot into this cuz the guy im basing the mc off is gay as hell#god this was long#rant#ok but just imagine the chaos when the system first fronts#''HOLY SHIT WHAT JUST HAPPENED DID THEY EAT YOU-?''#''OH GOD I TOLD YOU THEY WERE CARNIVORES''#''AYO WHAT THE ACTUAL FU- WHAT YOU MEAN 'this is normal dw' THIS IS NORMAL DW MY ASS''

Hello!! Can I have a 🧁? Thnx!
Soo I haven't done this in a while, lol..
I'm shortish at 163cm, curvy and have long auburn curls and amber eyes. You could say I'm a bit cute, but I'm very insecure about my weight, so yeah. Gods this sounds a bit like My Immortal. Moving on.
I'm an extroverted introvert? Like I prefer being alone, but can enjoy good company every once in a while, and sometimes you'd think I like the sound of my own voice a bit too much? I'm all about knowledge and loveeee socio-economic politics etc. I'm a bit stuck up like that I suppose, kinda snobbish tbh. What can I say, I like good quality stuff, like not cheap and think and awfully stitched synthetic fabrics, it doesn't have to be bloody 100% hand spun and made alpaca wool, but cmon, yk? I grew up with a very strict the-curtains-are-never-just-blue kind of mother (french and flute and ballet, and learning the savoir-vivre front-to-back, the whole she-bang, you know the drill). I'm like her more than I'd like to admit, in more ways than one.
I'm a very autonomous person, and hatehatehate depending on others even for the simplest things. I have a lot of patience usually, but improper behaviour and lack of manners will get a rise out of em pretty quickly. I'm a cat person too.
When it comes to PDA, not a fan. I'm shy when it comes to intimacy, but also think it kinda improper.
Love books, hate how most ppl teach stuff- you could call me an independent researcher at soul, but have quite a bit of biases. (Eg, with barely knowing anything about evolutionary psychology, I essentially called it a useless waste to my mentor the other day. I think my exact words were "it seems a bit far fetched to be truthful")
Yea, did I mention I use a lot of brittishisms? I'm not even a brit, English is my second language, idk what the deal is with that.
Also I'm a slytherin, if that wasn't obvious so far. When i first took a test and it said so, I retook it feeding it the proper answers to make me a raven, because, and I quote, "being ambitious is just being smart about how you wanna live your life". Yeah. Still stand by that statement, just have rejected the hp canon and jkr as a whole in the meantime (her horrid ideas too).
I drink my tea an dmy coffee strong and with no sugar nor milk. I love books, and bodies of water (esp the sea!!!), and thunderstorms and greenery. Also ostentatious rose gardens and glass and wrought iron greenhouses and glass domes on indoor gardens etc. Yes, I have my dream mansion sketched out for when I'm rich ever since I was 9ish. I'll just say I need to be filthy rich because it includes a private groove AND lake. I think the word you're searching for by now is "delusional"
I'm a stereotypical Slytherin I think. Even my all-time fave music genre is a tie between classical and jazz (though I do love rock and punk too)
This is getting too long, so I hope it's enough! Thanks in advance!!!
PS I have two names, the first of which is horrid, but means Sapphire One, and I go by my second, Alexandra. Much too ostentatious to have both of these, I know, but I quite like "Alexandra".
wow! truly a slytherin through and through haha! thank you so much for requesting darling, im sorry it took so long for me to deliver on and i don't know if this is up to your standards but i did my best!
I ship you with sirius black
i. in actuality, you two started off as enemies and eventually became lovers, growing up together since young from very prominent slytherin families only to be sorted in rival houses instead. it didn’t take until 6th year for the two of you to blossom a romance with each other, it was after reaching an understanding of each other’s personal difficulties growing up that the two of you grew close, slowly growing closer until you made it official. sirius became the person to balance you out and him, you. you both learned to be better people through each other.
ii. sirius loved how independent you were but also loved getting a rise out of you by being annoying, he loved getting your attention through that, knowing that you loved him too much to really sink your teeth into him, unlike the unlucky people he’s seen get a tongue lashing from you — he is not envious of them. he likes knowing that he can get away with things around you whereas other couldn’t, it made him feel special and, although you knew what he was up to, you always indulged him anyway. one thing you loved about him was that he made you feel so confident and loved, to the point where the insecurities you had of your body and appearance just disappeared because he loved everything about you, every good point, every star quality, every flaw…he loved those about you the best.
iii. he’s the one who slowly eases you into soft PDA, he knows you aren’t going to be the type to make out in front of people or sit in his lap blatantly when in a group setting but he wants to always be holding your hand or have his hand on your waist or play with your beautiful auburn hair. he loves whispering his admiration for you into your ear when you least expect it as well, some times he’d speak it in french just to add that additional touch of romance to it.
iv. he understands your love for ostentatious things, the two of you are common in that regard. and, being someone who took pride in everything he did, he was sure to shower you in all the opulence you were willing to receive. at some point in your relationship, he had acquired the perfect balance of gift giving to keep things special between you two without it being too in-the-face of others. he would take you on these really grand dates, get-aways, if you will, where the two of you indulge in all your favourite things as well as his, sharing and making memories together. He wants you to always be surrounded by beauty, because that’s what you deserve and you appreciate him so much for it.
v. he knows how to make you your tea and coffee and you know how to make his, he knows what books you like to read and the music you enjoy and you know the same for him — the two of you are equal in that you share your interests and act on them for each other. in the beginning, you felt as though your ideal life one day were just delusions but he promises and made those delusions a reality for you. he loved that you knew exactly what you wanted and he delivered on every wish as best he could because he would do anything for his princess

this wasn't on any of the ask list games but im curious, what are your favorite genres to read? do you have any book recs or works that have influenced your work? both your original and fic stuff lol
I love answering questions, so ask away. I've been reading a lot of non-fiction lately because I find real world information often builds up my ability to tell a convincing and human story + information runs this machine. I'm reading a book on drug cartel economics right now for writing reasons, and a book on fundamentalism and masculinity for my own personal interests. I also read a lot of occult literature.
Genre wise, I have been finding myself enjoying a lot of sci-fi recently, even though it's usually a genre I avoided in the past. I think horror is probably my favorite genre and the one I read the most of. I prefer good characters > good plot, so I don't usually read things that are heavy on word building or political intrigue.
I had a non-traditional childhood, so the books and media I was consuming (and by association, influenced my writing) was based more on what I was allowed to read more than what I wanted to read. I grew up in a very healthy diet of action and karate movies though because of my dad along with superhero cartoons, and I think those probably influenced my writing more than any books I was reading. I also am a very critical reader, and I like to say that the best way to learn how to write is to find something that you hate to read and figure out why you hate to read it. I read a lot of books I hated as a kid because I didn't have anything else to read and what I hated about them is reflected in what I don't write about. (bland characters, contrived plot, weak dialogue, skippable sections, contrived worldbuilding, cliches, etc.)
I do think The Hollow Kingdom series by Clare B. Dunkle is a big reason why I write for this fandom (non-conventional but charming love interest) and Enders Game is a big influence on my current space opera work Black Ace, but I can't think of anything else that directly influences my work now.
If you want book recs though here are some fiction that I really enjoyed recently:
the darkness outside us by eliot schrefer (cosmic space horror, devastating, beautiful, profound once in a lifetime read)
iron widow (fantasy mecha, great protagonist, polyamorous couple, way more violent and depraved than you'd expect)
the family fortuna (family tragedy, monster protagonist that likes being a monster, circus setting)
tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow (queer platonic relationships, making video games as a love language, so fucking sad and beautiful)
the murders of molly southbourne (violent clone killing, excellent execution of a concept)
I also have a storygraph if you want to see what I'm reading @mountainzombie

ARC Review: Twisted Secrets by Katee Robert
3/5. Re-releases 9/26/2023.
Vibes: (light) mafia, hard-nosed single mom, enemies to lovers with actual stakes, and immediate action (in every sense).
Olivia has been burned, multiple times, by her mafia family. She's determined to keep her daughter as safe as possible. So despite her eagerness to indulge in a no-strings relationship with Cillian O'Malley, she knows she shouldn't. She shouldn't! She really shouldn't. But Cillian is deeper than he seems, and she can't quite resist their immediate connection...
I think Katee Robert is a talented writer, but she is a bit hit or miss for me. I'm starting to figure out what works for me with regards to work and what doesn't--this wasn't quite a hit. But I see why this series is popular, and if you're looking for something on the gentler side of mafia romances (I wouldn't personally call this dark romance based on the hero) this could really work for you.
Quick Takes:
--I do appreciate that Katee's books often jump right into the action, both in terms of the sex and in terms of the story. Cillian and Olivia don't waste any time dancing around each other. They're immediately about it, and they hook up quickly. It's a real "bang first, get feelings later" book, which is a device I'm vocal about loving.
As someone who isn't a huge fan of the single parent romance (and I can't say this book changed that, but Katee was very restrained on the kid factor, so good job there) I did like that Olivia didn't magically become a flawless person because she was a mom. She's young. She makes impulsive decisions. She has desires beyond her child. That child does come first, but being a mom isn't Olivia's only identity. She was a likable heroine, and I got her.
--Cillian is... sweet. Yes, he's connected, yes, he's dangerous I suppose, but emotionally he's sweet and concerned about things like consent and making Olivia feel safe and checking in and so on and so on and so on. I'm realizing... that isn't really what I'm looking for in mafia romances (to be clear, I'm pretty sure that the mafia families throughout this series are Irish and Russian, which--different vibes from mafia mafia, but very much organized crime). That's not on Katee. It's personal preference. I just like my mafia heroes to be kinda the worst. They soften for their heroines, but they aren't immediately as civilized as Cillian.
To be fair, Cillian is dealing with some pretty clear PTSD and survivor's guilt and general fallout from a traumatic event. I just think that by setting this story after that event happens, you're removed a bit from a lot of potential tension. This is a guy who perhaps was worse in the past, and now he's trying to be better, and that's lovely, but... it just didn't really work for me. If you want someone who is theoretically bad but doesn't actually feel bad, this is a hero for you. I just would've preferred him to be rougher around the edges.
--For me, I think Katee works best in a heightened world where she goes for it a bit more (like her Bargain with a Demon series, or perhaps the Wicked Villains series). This felt restrained, which is not what I want in a mafia book. Now, if you don't read or like mafia books generally, this may not feel restrained at all. But when I compare it to my favorite mafia romances, it kind of does.
The Sex Stuff:
There are a solid amount of sex scenes in this book, and they're good and varied and satisfying. It's Katee Robert--she can write a sex scene. Because I wasn't really connecting with Cillian as a hero, I think they didn't super hit in my case. But they were good!
This is another case of "not quite dark enough" mafia romance for me. However, as I've been stressing... this could totally work for SO many people, and this is a re-release of a popular novel. So it has! Try it out if you'd like to try this genre, with a less insane, less mean hero.
Thanks to Forever and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

8 + 18!
Wow, that was efficient! Thanks @i-can-even-burn-salad, @whumplr-reader and @writingkate for giving me a chance to slack off on my looming work deadline by talking about whump! If there's a better excuse, I haven't heard it! (And it was all different questions, too; it was like you all coordinated!)
Question from linked ask game from @whumper-dumps.
For @i-can-even-burn-salad:
8. Opinion on whump without a whumper? Ex: Whumpee falling into an ice-cold river and getting hypothermia.
Definitely not my favorite type. I was actually never that big on survival-in-the-wilderness (or survival-in-an-urban-hellscape) stories in general. Plus my favorite whumpy implements (chains, shackles, cages, etc.) are all manmade, so you pretty much need a whumper for that.
18. Do you prefer visual whump or written whump? Any reason why?
That's tough but I'd give the edge to written whump, because I'm a writer after all. They're both good, but the visual stuff usually has to have some kind of connection to something written. What for sure does nothing for me is clips/gifsets from random movies/shows I haven't seen featuring characters being whumped. I have no emotional connection to it. I'd have to sit down and actually watch the whole thing from start to finish.
For @whumplr-reader:
3. Least favourite type of whump?
The first one that comes to mind is vampires keeping humans as so-called bloodbags. I'm not super squicky about blood, normally, but that really pushes the limit. I'm actually not that big of a fan of whump involving vampires/werewolves/angels/fairies/supernatural creatures in general. No particular reason, just never saw the appeal.
4. What do you wish you saw more in this community?
Whumpees being forced to do hard physical labor and/or perform demeaning tasks/chores as punishment (or just in general!) I mean, it seems obvious but I see it so rarely. Seriously, if someone wrote a story involving this and tagged me you'd automatically be my new favorite person. Just saying!
For @writingkate:
2. What is your favourite type of whump?
Broadly, anything involving humiliation and/or dehumanization, whether emotional or physical or both.
6. Do you listen to anything while writing/drawing whump? If it’s music, what genre do you typically listen to?
I listen to music pretty much all day, every day, ranging from '60s psychedelic folk to '50s piano jazz to reggae to country to West African kora to '90s alternative rock to ambient beats to ... there's probably not a single genre I haven't written something whumpy while listening to.
7. Emotional or physical whump?
I'd give the edge to emotional, but the best is when the physical feeds the emotional, i.e., when a whumper plays upon a whumpee's precise emotional trauma/insecurities, then goes in for the physical "kill," so to speak.
Thank you so much for the asks, everyone! :gets back to work:

Wanted: RP Partner(s)
Howdy! So long story short, I am once again getting back into roleplaying, and so I thought I'd make this silly little side blog to try and find some people to roleplay with! Soooo let's get on with it!!!
About me:
My name is Jessie, I'm nonbinary, and my pronouns are they/he! I'm a current college student, so I tend to get very busy out of nowhere. My style is what you'd call advanced literate/novella. I write only in 3rd person. I also have a habit of writing a lot. I have been writing and roleplaying for 10 whole years (I have a lot of stories about my rp history. It's kind of embarrassing lol).
As a little disclaimer regarding my response timing: like I mentioned, I'm currently in my undergrad and my schedule can be hectic. Some days, I'm not busy at all and that means I'm free to respond whenever. However, some days I'm super busy and cannot respond. I try my hardest to be as open and communicative with my roleplay partners as possible. That being said, I do not expect a response immediately after I respond. Take as much time as you need! I know that you have a life outside of roleplaying just as much as I do.
Preferences for Roleplay Partners:
I am over 18, so I am... a little uncomfortable with roleplaying certain themes and topics with people who are underaged. Under no circumstances will I roleplay NSFW with a minor. Please, for the love of all things that are good, do not lie about your age just so you can roleplay NSFW with me. I was 14 at some point too and got upset when adults wouldn't roleplay with me either, but trust me when I say it has nothing to do with your maturity or you as a person. It is for both of our safety and well-being.
As for the topic of NSFW, no porn-without-plots. I don't mind nsfw, but I really don't like it to be the bulk of a roleplay. It gets boring really quick for me.
Please be literate! I'm definitely not an amazing writer and don't expect you to be one either. I'm not a stickler for grammar or stuff like that, but literacy is important to me.
Last but not least, someone who is willing to talk OOC! The most fun I've ever had with roleplays was when I've roleplayed with people who have talked to me OOC. Whether it's about the roleplay or anything about your life, talk to me!!! We don't have to be best friends, but I like to think of roleplaying as a good way to make some really cool friends that I can basically work on a story with :) There's no obligation to always be talking to me, but talking from time to time is nice.
The fun stuff!!! What I'm looking for:
Fandom or OC! I lean towards OC, but if there's a fandom we both enjoy that I can comfortably write a character from, then let's do it! My main genres of interest are: high/dark fantasy, modern fantasy, horror/psychological thriller, pretty much any historical fiction especially if it is medieval or takes place in the last 200 years, some sci-fi, or anything that gives Life is Strange vibes. I'm down for realistic fiction settings, but I usually prefer the other stuff.
Ships. As a queer person, I prefer lgbt relationship dynamics. I'm comfortable with straight ships, but they're just not what I'm used to. Most of my OCs are guys, but I have gals, nonbinary, and trans people also thrown into the mix of my endless batch of OCs. Also, platonic ships are welcomed!
Fandoms:
If you are looking to roleplay a fandom, here's what I'm currently into/what I'm willing to roleplay! A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones, the Witcher(show, books up to a certain point I left off at lol), the Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age (all 3 games), Hannibal, and Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit (movies and books I guess?)
No/no's:
Things that will get you immediately blocked if you try to pull include: non-con, incest, s/a, children in any sexual context, or any fetishes that have to do with bodily fluids.
Things that are iffy/icks: romanticization of mental illness (i.e. if you haven't done the research to be able to correctly pull of an interpretation of a character with ASPD, don't do it), abusive relationships, and dub-con.
Disclaimer: these are things that I am not okay writing into detail about. For example, if your character has a past of being abused, I am okay with having the subject touched upon. However, I am not comfortable writing an abusive relationship where my OC is abusive towards yours, or vice versa. Please just be respectful and speak to me OOC prior to bringing up any of these subjects.
Anyhoodles, that's about it! Sorry this post is long and drawn out. If you're interested in roleplaying, please interact with this post via comment or like, or message me! My main means of roleplaying is through discord. My discord tag is WizardLizard#2018. Please bare in mind that I get busy (and last time I made one of these posts I got absolutely swamped with responses and got overwhelmed), so it might take me a little while to get back to you! No matter what I will respond, though!

What’s dirt poor robins? Feel free to infodump
OKAY SO
Short answer: a band I found a few years ago that just- you ever have a band that somehow scratches that itch of your ideal music taste? Yeah. Yeah they're that for me. Got super into them, took a long break due to unrelated traumas, but then once I got back into them I had that "OH YEAH THIS SLAPS" reaction
I genuinely dont know how to describe their genre. Some albums are more indie/alt rock, some are more dark cabaret/steampunk, some are more space opera-esque, etc. I recommend just putting them on shuffle and go through a few albums if you wanna give them a try, just because if you dont like one album doesnt mean you wont like ALL their albums
Doesnt help that they dropped their latest album this year so man. Man. The brainworms. They're so real.
Good band to think of animatics to- ESPECIALLY with me and my fiance's Decopunk AU we've been working on
ME INFODUMPING ABOUT EACH ALBUM UNDER THE CUT
The Cage
This album introduced me to them! I found Great Vacation on one of those villain-inspired youtube playlists. This is probably their most "rock" album, before they started finding more of their niche in the more dark cabaret side of their later albums. A good intro album! Personal favorite songs: The Hollywood Song, Masquerade
The Last Days of Leviathan
Okay this is the album that REALLY starts getting into DPR's vibes- if you vibe with this one you'll probably vibe with most of their other albums. Very eldritch vibes Personal favorite songs: Leviathan, Sonnet to Science
The Raven Locks
This one's so cool because it tells a narrative story throughout that's super interesting to follow! This one has so many bangers omg. Definitely has range so goes from more stereotypical dark cabaret to more dark fantasy-esque- DEFINITELY keeping that eldritch vibe but with more of a steampunk kind of twist on it. Oh yeah also has my personal favorite rendition of Great Vacation! I greatly prefer Act 3 to Act 2 but still. Good stuff. Personal favorite songs: We Forgot We Were Human, Great Vacation, Wasteland, Take Him Away
Deadhorse
Oh mannnn. I don't know why but like. Space opera vibes. Some real good, like, high cinematic songs to really imagine your intense mental AMVs to. I genuinely don't know how to put these vibes into words but they really scratch a specific itch for me. Very "average person stumbles upon an Old World and all the mysteries around it, they go on a magical odyssey that completely changes them by the end" vibes and DONT ask how i got that bc I couldnt explain but trust me Personal favorite songs: Wax Cylinder Sonata, Skywriter, But Never A Key
Anthems to the Edge of the Earth
I dont have as much to say on this one bc its mostly remixes of some of their best tracks. That being said: REMIXES OF SOME OF THEIR BEST TRACKS, as well as introducing some new bangers! Highly recommend checking this one out, highest likelihood of finding at least one song you'll like here, unlike the other albums where you kinda have to have a niche taste to really like them Personal favorite songs: It Tore Your Heart Out, Anthem to the Edge of the Earth
Queen of the Night
Admittedly this one is my least favorite album, the definitely dips the furthest into Dark Cabaret and Vaudeville- so if you're more into that side of their music then this ones for you! That said, there's a few bangers that I always have on repeat so like. They dont have a single bad album imo. Personal favorite songs: Babylon, Enchante
Firebird
Their latest!!! This one's so good, kind of swings back into their more rock-related music, with a neat twist. Some songs carry a really cool vaporwave vibe that makes me almost nostalgic for music that feels older than it actually is. Like I feel I'd find this on a cassette tape despite the music not being anything like you'd find in the late 70s-80s. That being said their more dark fantasy and steampunk vibes are 100% on display here as well which Im ALWAYS here for Personal favorite songs: Political, Fever Dream, All at Once, To the Heights
In summary I just REALLY like this band!!! I say I'm mentally ill for them bc not only how much I listen to them but also, like, Im very aware that this is not "normal people" music taste. It's like- I want more people to get into them, but most of their tracks are very far from what youd see on mainstream radio, and if you dont like them then like... yeah you just wont like them. Kind of an acquired taste, not in an elitist way but in a "yeah this is a specific niche and if you like it then fuck yeah but if not then theres not much we could do"
If you're into more dark-steampunk, dark-cabaret vibes with plenty of orchestral rock and synth, I 100% recommend giving them a try.
But yeah the vibes of like half of these albums have inspired plot points of my dnd oc Corren, Ive thought of countless mental animatics to certain songs, and Firebird was a huge inspiration for Decopunk AU
I wish I was better at putting their vibes to words, theyre soooo... specific. They make me feel a very specific series of emotions that I cant quite put to words but I HOPE THIS HELPS EXPLAIN THEIR VIBES A BIT
#dirt poor robins#IM JUST SO. AAAAA THEY SCRATCH AN ITCH FOR MEEEEE.#also man now i wanna brainrot over Decopunk AU HEEELLLPPPP#THE BRAINWORMS!!! THEYRE GETTING TO MEEEEEE!!!!!!

how did you get here? - I was previously aware of the characters, but I read "Solar Lunacy" and "Twin Anamatronics With Too Much Time on Their Hands" and got excited about all the good fanfics on Ao3. why these characters in particular?
what was the hook for you? - Multiple things. My first year studying Wicca in the mid 90s I got obsessed with collecting pairs of things that were matching Sun and Moon designs. Started dragging out all my old stuff and falling in love with it all over again. I like equal opposite characters who still manage to care about one another. It also scratches the itch I have for werewolves and similar characters who are trying to make peace with an out of control part of themselves.
how long have you been here? - A few months, not too long. have you actually played fnaf sb? - Nope. But I've seen it played through on The Sun and Moon Show. [I love their Let's Plays, they're hilarious. Moon playing Job Simulator had me rolling.]
if you make content, what's your favorite piece you've contributed? - I'm working on a cosplay but it won't be done for a while so that doesn't count. I'm also picking at this bit of fic I wrote. - https://archiveofourown.org/works/48400969/chapters/122079487
what's your favorite sort of art or fic? what genre/flavor/style? - My favorite fics are the ones that take down Fazbear itself and free or at least fix the anamatronics. Stealing them is fun too. Looking at you "Ventura Highway".
what's your favorite au? - Haven't read enough of those to pick one. do you have any ocs, or have any ocs you're fond of? - I have a LOT Of OCs. But the most related one is a post fire DCA with amnesia. His name is Equinox and his current outfit is like a very dapper goth scarecrow with a more toned down Moon-face. https://theinfamousdoctorf.tumblr.com/post/698939844954603520/wip-complete I'm using him in a massive roleplay and he's got a lot of issues to work through. [Yes I made every part of that doll. It's all hand-sewn too.]
what do you think of the dca's canon appearance? Scary? Cute? Something else? - I think they're cute in a quirky way. I don't mind the 'biblical' version of the DCA. I'd be one of the dumb Y/Ns that's too busy staring at Moon because he's an amazing piece of tech to be seriously scared.
what keeps you in this fandom despite the very small amount of canon content the dca had? - Who cares about canon? Blorbo's aquired. If you need me I'll be in my corner reading fic and marvelling at fanart.
be honest: if you had to pick only one, sun or moon? - That is HARD. Because I vibe with them both on different levels. I'm a high energy crafter with tons of hobbies, but I'm also a night owl who likes to be generally sarcastic, creepy and scare people. If I have to pick... probably Sun just because he wouldn't bug me so much for my terrible sleep schedule.
thoughts on eclipse? - Canon Eclipse is a perfect angel. I want to take him home and fix him. He deserves so much better. Still fond of the four-armed fandom Eclipse that comes out when their Y/N is in mortal peril too though.
thoughts on pre-glitch sun? - Poor baby. He was doing his best.
thoughts on pre-glitch moon? - Tragic. I imagine he was always a bit of a gremlin. But the virus forcing him to be an accomplice to murdering the children he was supposed to protect is heartbreaking.
do you interpret sun and moon as two sides of the same person, or truly two separate beings in one body? does it matter? - Two different personalities. And yes, it matters. It's makes the "Dadcare Attendant" fics a little weird. [They're still really sweet though]
what's something in the fandom you'd like to see more of? - I prefer fics from the DCAs perspectives, and I don't mind if the Y/Ns are actual characters.
what's something in the fandom you'd like to see less of? - Meh. Not sure. I'm mostly avoiding the shipping fics though. Too each their own.
anything you're looking forward to? - Just updates from the fics I'm following.
do you think you'd actually get along with the dca if you met them irl? - [I'm assuming a one on one situation] Yes. I would happily do arts and crafts with Sun. I can be high energy if I'm in a really good mood. I like board and card games too and no one ever wants to play with me. And a de-virused Moon would be wonderful to chill out with. I have a terrible time getting to bed, falling asleep and usually have awful nightmares if I dream at all. I could use a sleep expert. Taken together - What I wouldn't give for a cheerful roommate who actually enjoys cleaning house.
free space! talk about whatevers on your mind! - I'm glad we have this little corner of the fandom to play in. I find the FNAF lore to be convoluted and depressing and Scott Cawthorne is a terrible person. I don't play many games and most of the time I'd rather watch someone else play. I'll take the DCA and maybe the puppet, they can have the rest of that mess.
alright dca fandom, here's some questions bc i'm curious. the funky jesters make our brains go brr, but why? treat it as an ask game or answer in the tags if you feel like it! :)
