Does your milkshake bring’em to the yard? I created this UltraBright Vanilla Milkshake COLORMELT™️ yesterday for my @Olaplex live education class.(follow Olaplex on Facebook and watch the whole video now & tag me for any questions you might have). Allie wanted bright pop with depth and I wanted her hair to be super strong and healthy so @DonovanMillsHair pre-cut Allie’s hair starting with an @Olaplex stand-alone salon service (pre-cuts are essential for Balayage so I can paint on a pristine canvas). I then did balayage & strobing holding each individual subsection upward and back to create an overall uplifting result. (I used Solaris clay based lightener from @bespokebeautyla / @eugenepermaprofessionnel with @Olaplex N°1 (I applied Olaplex N°2 immediately upon rinsing each balayaged/strobed section & rinsed the N°2 before my next step> I then built in depth by creating a ShadowRoot w/ LowLights at the back of the front two sections in order to push light toward Allie’s beautiful facial features. Next, I formulated my GlobalGloss with @Redken Shades EQ 9n 9v 9p & Clear, 5min processing time. My bilingual English+Spanish ColorMelt™️ MasterClass was exhilarating! The multi-national class fired away with questions ranging from how I work with assistants to my no-brush Balayage technique. My @Olaplex family was representing & killed it! Thank you @Darcy_rc & Dean for the spectacular swag...the whole class of colorists went crazy when they saw their gift bags filled with all-things Olaplex including the brand new @Olaplex N°4 Shampoo + N°5 Conditioner w/ the Olaplex patented bond-builder actually inside these stellar new must-have products. @Martine_by_design & @JCarloshairrevolution slayed w/ their social media coverage including our new @OlaplexEnEspanol. My @Framar friends seriously outdid themselves with their stellar gifts & coloring tools which I painted with all day long. @EugenePermaUsa & @BespokeBeautyLa were beyond generous and the class was excited to ColorMelt™️ use their Solaris lightener & @eugenepermaprofessionnel gifts after watching me use them on both of my models. REDHEAD REVEAL swipe<4before ColorMelt™️ MasterClass Model #2. In the before shot you can see my previous 4-month faded work (a very grown-out version of a softer strawberry color I had given her) For this class, I used @Olaplex N°1 in every single formula as I always do. I balayaged low-lights with a demi-permanent copper&golden/copper levels 6&7 w/ 6volume & I simultaneously balayaged highlights (custom brick-layering) to add soft shimmer as well as to break up a permanent HairColor I had previously applied. Next I did light HairStrobing around the faceframe to create a lifting effect. I used Solaris clay-based lightener @eugenepermaprofessionnel from @bespokebeautyla for all of my balayaged highlights. After each section of lows&lights was rinsed, I immediately applied @Olaplex N°2 as I always do because that is an ideal moment to let Olaplex rebuild broken disulfide bonds w/out having to mitigate any damage that can occur during a chemical reaction...that’s what Olaplex N°1 is for. My next step was marrying Syd’s natural cool level-8 base color with the floating (aka purposely disconnected not-to-the-root) lights&lows and build in depth with a rich mix of @Redken ShadesEQ Equal parts 15ml 6g,7nb&6aa+5mls 5n. I applied liberally at the root and then brushed through w/ perfectly-imperfect sweeping motions with my #SheartsS rose-gold brush pulling the formula lower down at the interior and just lightly sweeping through closer to the faceframe. I then did a global gloss with ShadesEQ 20g 9aa & 8gg +5ml 7cc + 5ml Orange kicker 3ml Yellow kicker (10min). It’s important to note that I used @Framar’s Balayage “paint brushes” for each application. I love these brushes for Balayage, Strobing, DepthBuilding, LowLights...they’re always on my tray. (TIP: I always have my assistants dry the brushes after washing and place two flat clips at the ends of the bristles to give me an even cleaner balayage that still allows each brush stroke to look “feathered” regardless of the application technique.
