PT 1-How La Squadra react to you calling them their nickname/term of endearment:
CW: suggestive content
Notes: Here's something small to help with my writers block. If any of you all have any small asks like these send them to me so I can fight this block! I really wanna continue my perv series! Also pt 2 of this HC will be done soon. I want to add a lil something but donât want to rush the rest of the guyâs entries. Next part will have risotto, prosciutto, andâŠ. Sorbet & Gelato! đ€ Iâm going to try writing for the 2 lovebirds in my HCs now. Well itâs not much but I hope you enjoy regardless! đ Beryl
Formaggio: âMaggie moo, you ding dong! You bought the wrong cat food again!â you huffed.
âI did? Iâm sorry sugarbunches, which one did I buy?â he asked, trying to think of what food he bought.
âYou bought the regular seafood flavored cat food. Miss Priss likes the seafood flavor but has a sensitive tummy and needs the sensitive stomach formula. Now sheâs gonna get diarrhea!â you explained.
âOooooh, I see where I went wrong. My bad, babycakes. Also can you call me the other nickname? I think it sounds cuter.âHe requested.
âOh ok, which one?â you asked. âMaggio-oâs, Maggie May, Cheese Nips, Lil Peets, Cat Daddy, Big D Mcgee, M-â
âAhem.âa voice stopped the nauseating chain of names.
â........Can we get back to the meeting please?â Risotto asked, trying to hold back a gag.
Formaggio loves pet names and doesn't give a shit who hears them. It just shows how much you love him! He will give them back with just as much enthusiasm.
Heâll ham it up with the PDA to make you feel good and to gross others out, he thinks their disgust and jealousy is funny.
He calls you the most diabetic inducing nicknames like Sweetie baby, sugarpie, honeybuns, sugartits(yes, even if you donât have them, youâll have to correct him on that!)
Illuso: âRubin.(Ruby) did yo-âyou got cut off rudely âEUGHâ he gags.
âReally mature.â you growled. You were trying to show him a little affection and heâs being an ass. âAs I was saying, Rubin did you tak-â
âDisgusting! Ew. youâre calling ME, Illuso of the Mirror THAT Filthy name?â he asked, feigning disgust.
âSighâŠHey ASSWIPE! Did you take my shampoo?! It feels a shit ton lighter than it did the last time I used it!!!â you hissed.
âOh, why yes of course. I did. You have good taste, you know. Look at how shiny and silky my hair looks.â he said smugly.
âYou owe me 34 Euros thenâŠâYou said coolly as you walked off irritated by his behavior.
âWay to go, dumbass. They were trying to be affectionate towards you for once and you blew it.â Gelato said while snuggling into Sorbets lap.
âHow do you know? When hasY/N EVER been affectionate?â Illuso brushed him off.
âUh, thatâs exactly my point. Theyâre so shy it probably it took everything out of them to call you that. They called you âRubinâ aka-RUBY, because your eyes are red. THEY LIKE YOUR EYES. Do I need to get some crayons and draw it out for you?â Gelato said snarkily.
â...Oh. â he realized his own stupidity for once.
He follows you to your room to beg for forgiveness. Illuso has pride but heâll put it aside when it comes to you.
âCâmon bambina/o, Iâm sorry. I didnât know you were trying to be sweet on me. Really! Please forgive me.â he said looking at you with his big pleading red eyes.
âOhâŠok fine. But donât do it again. That was embarrassing.â you said letting him hug you.
Depending on how you are heâs either going to pretend to be disgusted and be grossed out when you call him super mushy pet names. But the super romance-y ones heâll tolerate in publicâŠif he understands them(let him know in advance to prevent the situation above).
He doesnât really give out pet names in public but he gives them out generously in private.
Heâll call you flashy names like Diamond, Stella, and Luna.
Pesci: âLilâ Guppy! Check out this Cruise! We HAVE to save up for this so we can go on vacation!â you jumped up and down excitedly showing him the page in the magazine.
âO-oh uh ok.â He stuttered. He was embarrassed by the nickname being used in front of the guys but didnât have the heart to tell you not to say it in fear of being mean.
âLilâ guppy??? How cute.â Illuso snickered.
âUhâŠY/N? Can I speak to youâŠalone?â he asked nervously.
âYeah! Hmm? Whats wrong?â you looked concerned.
âUm uh I-....Uh could you..? Could you not call me that in frontâŠof the guys?â he asked, fidgeting with his fingers.
You looked hurt, you could feel the tears form but fought them back. You understood, he was an easy target to be made fun of.
âOh uhâŠOk. Iâm sorry. I didnât mean to embarrass you.â You whimpered.
âNo no! Please donât cry! Im sorry!â he hugged you tightly. âDonât cry my precious little pearl!â
âNo its okay! Honestly! I understand. The guys are kinda mean, and like to pick on you. Youâre trying your best to not be seen as a mammoni and I need to help with that so Iâm not gonna call you that-in public.â You said hugging back.
âThank you Y/N. Youâre so nice and understanding. Iâm glad I have you as my partner.â he beamed.
He canât be seen as a mammoni. As much as he loves to be loved, he has to keep away from the PDA!
Heâll love and cuddle you in private and do whatever you need when you two are alone.
He loves to call you names related to the sea. He likes to call you his pearl, Mermaid, Angelfish
Melone: Melone was busy on his laptop completely unaware of your presence. âMelone.â no answerâŠâmelone.â nothing. âMel.â nope. âMELONE.â Is he ignoring you??? âHoneydew~!â
âYes Amore~?â he purred looking up at you.
You scowled and folded your arms. âWhere's my underwear?â
âWhich ones?â he asked, trying not to smirk.
âThe _______ ones. They have the ____ on them. They were very EXPENSIVE.â you said firmly.
âOh thoseâŠIâm wearing them,â he said casually.
âBad Honeydew.âYou took out the spray bottle of air freshener and sprayed him twice.
âNot in the eyes!â he coughed.
âThis is getting weird...Iâm gonna leave now.â Pesci slowly got up and cautiously snuck off.
Melone LOVES terms of endearment and nicknames. He actively encourages it and wonât answer you sometimes like above until you say it.
As a PDA lover heâll call you lots of pets names with much praise.
âYou look handsome/beautiful today Mama/Papa!â
He likes to call you parental related names (not in a sexual way) because he dreams of having children with you someday! Or if youâre not interested in children, maybe some cats and dogs. Or reptiles and his Juniors(Heâll make sure they wonât harm their 2nd parent he promises on his own life!) He calls you Mama/Mommy or Papa/Daddy, or Zommy/Zaddy. Heâll respect your gender of course.
Ghiaccio: âKÄâĂ i BÇobĂši~!(cutie baby) Welcome back! How was your mission? Youâre unharmed and in one piece, I assume it went very well.â you jumped off the sofa and gave him a death gripping hug. The guys snickered, watching you nuzzle your face in his chest. â I miss miss miss miss miss miss miss miss miss miss missed you!â
Ghiaccioâs face was as red as his glasses. â Goddamnit Y/N! They know that means something mushy! you canât call me that in front of everyone!â he yelled not in his usual angry tone but in an embarrassed and annoyed tone as he tried to gently but firmly nudge you off.
The guys would tease him and call him the same name you call him.
No worries, he can handle his own. He would threaten to beat them with an inch of their lives...and they know he would.
He wonât admit it but he likes the cute nicknames you give him, especially if they are other languages since he has a fixation on language.
In private heâd blush and try not to smileâŠbut he fails at that.
Heâll call you his own favorite pet names and give you a hug and a kiss on the forehead.đ„ș
He doesnât look like the type but hes got a few cutesy names too like snow angel, powder puff, and snowflake.âïž

2 - 25 The Big Reveal
OMG SEASON FINALE HVJNKBGDF I'VE BEEN WAITING TO WRITE THIS FOR SO LONG
NAAAAA i'm just gonna jump right into it it's a long episode
Although! To fit Cartoonverse lore it is a bit different from canon as usual, just to warn you!
DON'T READ THE EPISODES WITHOUT READING THE BOOKS!!
The submarine arrives in France, and the guests head back onto land, eagerly awaiting Logicoâs long-awaited story conclusion.
LOGICO: The Bloody Assassin did not kill Beloved Butler Beryl. In fact, I doubt they were even real.
The people gasp!Â
LOGICO: Iâve delved into the past once more and did further research. Iâve noticed discrepancies in the texts. Lord Violet was not standing heroically with a sword, faced against the assassin - he was lying on a bed with only a bag as a weapon. Lady Violet was not a small child. She was a teenager. And yet, there was definitely the sword. Iâve seen the blood on it. And my final conclusion isâŠ
Irratino arrives at the isles. Everything is in flames and completely destroyed. But he feels Logico still with him. He must have escaped.
IRRATINO: [out into the distance] LOGICO, I DONâT KNOW WHERE YOU ARE, BUT I TRUST YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO. AND IâM COMING, NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES! LOGICO: Iâm afraid Beryl⊠killed himself.
Thereâs a gasp of shock from the crowd, and an air of sadness.Â
LOGICO: The poor fellow. No one deserves such a fate.
Lady Violet claws at her face. She canât take it anymore!
VIOLET: No! Thatâs⊠youâre not right! LOGICO: I looked over the facts, and⊠VIOLET: Youâre wrong, Logico. I was there. And Iâve been lying to you about everything!
Logico envisions the past! (aka a flashback)
VIOLET: My father was rescued by Beryl a long time ago.
The injured fawn Lord Violet collapses outside the dead forest. But a small figure approaches to help - itâs baby Beryl!Â
BERYL: LITTLE GUY! YOUâRE SO SMOL!
Violet kicks and tries to stand.
BERYL: âERE DO YOU WANT A CUPCAKE?
Violet turns and looks at him. Beryl falls down in shock of his burnt face. But he still slowly offers a cupcake to the thing. Violet, weak, hobbles over and sniffs it, doubling over in surprise of the sweet scent. Beryl is very amused!
BERYL: YOU WILL BE CALLED VIOLET, BECAUSE YOUâRE PURPLE!!
Itâs not like the baby deer can object. He follows the miniature muppet home.
VIOLET: Beryl was the original heir to this castle. But as they grew older, he gave the honor to my father. He was respected and feared by all. The Reds had no motives to murder him, and the Iron Tsar wasnât even the one who killed him. He brought so much income to the war, killing him would mean killing a fortune. But someone else had the motive. LOGICO: ⊠VIOLET: It was me! I had the motive! If my dad continued to support the Reds, all the money that was supposed to be mine would disappear. Â
Teenage Lady Violet tries to argue with her father, but she canât. He canât respond to anything, and chooses what he wants to listen to. He can completely ignore his daughter and no one can tell the difference.Â
VIOLET: I wish you were a real person instead of just some animal!
Lord Violetâs face is so empty and expressionless. Even though itâs impossible to tell, she can just feel that he does not care.Â
VIOLET: The problem was⊠he was still so much stronger than me. If he wanted to, he could kill me with ease. I needed backup. So I got Beryl.
VIOLET: Do you see how he treats you? This is not a friendship! He treats you like an animal! BERYL: WELL⊠I GUESS. BUT I DONâT WANT TO DO ANYTHING BAD. VIOLET: âBadâ is subjective. Come on.
VIOLET: And I forced him to kill him⊠BERYL: NO! NO! NO! YOU CANâT MAKE ME KILL HIM, HEâS MY BEST FRIEND!! VIOLET: He is NOT your best friend. He locks you in a CAGE. He hurts you EVERY SINGLE DAY! BERYL: BUT⊠I LOVE HIM! VIOLET: NO, YOU DONâT!!! You have the sword. Heâs just a deer. It will take two seconds. BERYL: WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!
VIOLET: Beryl was bound by life to serve us. He had to do what I said.
Lord Violet is asleep. But the second Beryl is locked in, he jerks awake. The butler is full-body trembling, holding the sword he was given. Shutting his eyes tight, he makes a slight movement forward. Lord Violet leaps off the bed and thrusts the sword out of his hands with his horns, breaking it in two.Â
BERYL: [bawling] I DONâT WANT TO KILL YOU!!!!
So Lady Violet barges in and does the job for him.
VIOLET: We buried him under Berylâs name. No one could know he had died. We were Lord Violet now.Â
They have to wear a disguise, an awkward two-person suit that looks like Lord Violet from a distance.Â
VIOLET: And we switched our sides and fought for the Iron Tsar. With his terrible cross-eyed vision, we could fool him easily. We thoughtâŠ
The Iron Tsar can still spot a crucial detail, something they couldnât incorporate into the disguise.
LOGICO: Lord Violet had one functioning eye⊠and it glowed red!
The pigeon shoots down the impostor. Lady Violet can escape. But Beryl, in front, is mortally wounded. When Major Red arrives, he can tear through him with the greatest of ease - because the costume, and Berylâs body, are both made of fabric.
LOGICO: You⊠You are a horrible, horrible person⊠VIOLET: I KNOW. But THATâS the answer youâve all been waiting for. I did it! I killed my own father!Â
She falls to her knees and completely breaks down.
VIOLET: I killed⊠my own fatherâŠ
And so, as it turns out, Lady Violet was the dark secret of the Violet Isles.
Irratino probably knew the whole time.
The end!Â
We love you beryl
And no one ever knew how Lady Violet became Lord Violet's daughter
The power of Goat Lord compels you!
See you next time murdlers!

ALL THE OMENS
I keep seeing people confused / discovering one or several iterations of Good Omens, so here is a masterpost of everything Good Omens that officially exists (and that I could gather, so there might be mistakes):
WILLIAM THE ANTICHRIST (1987)
The original draft of what would later become Good Omens, written by Neil Gaiman before he teamed up with Terry Pratchett. It notably features a demon called Crawleigh who would then be split into Crowley and Aziraphale. The draft exists in a book form included in the Ineffable Edition of the illustrated Good Omens.
LINK TO A WTA RECAP (by @fuckyeahgoodomens)
BOOK (1990)
The core material of Good Omens, written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Exists also as an audiobook read by Stephen Briggs (for the English speaking crowd of course). There is also some audio of David Tennant reading part of the book during the recording of Playing in the Dark: Neil Gaiman and the BBC Symphony Orchestra in November 2019. LINK TO DAVID TENNANTâS READING (by @merinathropp) @good-omens-covers is a blog where you can have a look at book covers from accross the world
MOVIE SCRIPT (1992)
The script for an aborted movie project. Attempts to write a movie script were made by both Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, but this is the one Gaiman ended up tackling on his own after Pratchett wisely decided to step away. The conflicted requests from the producers lead the way to a story that was related to Good Omens only in name. The movie script is only available in few numbers on specialized websites for a very high price.
THEATRE PLAY (2013)
An adaptation by Amy Hoff made with the permission of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, that was played by the Cult Classic Theatre for the Glasgow International Comedy Festival. As far as I know, no footage or script is available anywhere. I know nothing about this play besides the fact that Crowley looks wild. Amy Hoffâs website mentions that GO is currently unavailable for stage production or adaptation. LINK TO THE (BROKEN) PAGE OF THE THEATRE PLAY LINK TO A PHOTO GALLERY OF THE PLAY
RADIO DRAMA (2014)
An audio adaptation originally broadcasted on BBC4 in 6 episodes, adapted by Dirk Maggs and directed by Dirk Maggs and Heather Larmour. It is however available in an 8 episodes longer format (including bloopers) on CDs and such. The cast includes, notably, Peter Serafinowicz as Crowley, Mark Heap as Aziraphale, Josie Lawrence as Agnes Nutter, and a cameo from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

TV SERIESÂ (2019)
A six episodes long TV series, produced by the BBC and Amazon, that premiered on Amazon Prime in June 2019. Directed by Douglas Mackinnon. The script was written entirely by Neil Gaiman as the whole project was the achievement of years of struggle trying to get a video adaptation of GO, and as promised by Neil Gaimand to the late Terry Pratchett that this would get done.Â
The cast still includes Josie Lawrence as Agnes Nutter, David Tennant as Crowley, Michael Sheen as Aziraphale, and many other talented actors and actresses that would be too long to list here but are worth watching.Â
As derivative products coming out of the making of the TV series, the script book of the entire show (including cut scenes that were never shot) is available, as well as some storyboards that depict, without a doubt, the least expected looks for Crowley and Aziraphale. The TV series is available for streaming on Amazon Prime, in DVD and in BluRay. The soundtrack composed by David Arnold can be found in CDs, vinyls and mp3 sets. Additionally, there is a TV Companion book for behind the scenes and interviews that can be purchased, and very few official goodies such as enamel pins, and, of course, the very necessary Good Omens Nail Polish. A Q and A with Neil Gaiman and David Tennant is also available on Amazon Prime, broadcasted live and recorded in May 2020. In 2017, Neil Gaiman made a reading of cutscenes in Austin, Texas, for the Long Center event.

THE LOCKDOWN VIDEO (2020)
As a direct result of the TV series (and a direct result of a worldwide pandemic and a several months long lockdown...), Neil Gaiman wrote a little script for a short video that is, actually, mainly audio, in which David Tennant and Michael Sheen reprised their roles as Crowley and Aziraphale.

MUSICAL (still in developpement as far as I know on this date in June 2020)
An Australia based project that has been years in the making, developped by Vicki Larnach and Jim Hare. So far, what has been officially released on the internet are a few videos of a reading by the actors, a sizzle reel with footage and audio of several moments from the show, as well as promotional pictures. The musical has been played on stage in front of an audience a few times these past two years in a version that is probably rather close to what the end product will be, and hopefully, once the final version exists, it will be made available for the widest audience possible.

OTHERS THINGS THAT ARE (AND THINGS THAT ARENâT)
668âThe Neighbour of the Beast AKA the sequel that doesnât exist. Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett talked about writing a sequel to Good Omens, came up with a few things (the most infamous being Aziraphale watching a porno in a hotel room, but only catching glimpses of it and trying to figure out the plot by writting it down in a notebook), but it was never written. LINK TO AN INTERVIEW GIVEN TO THE LOCUS IN 1991 MENTIONING THIS SEQUEL LINK TO A POST ON GAIMANâS BLOG MENTIONING THE PORNOGRAPHY BIT LINK TO A RECAP OF THE SEQUEL + COTTAGE THING The movie directed by Terry Gilliam Before GO became a TV series, it got stuck for years as a movie project meant to be directed by Terry Gilliam. For various reasons it never happened, and the rumors about Robin Williams being cast as Aziraphale and Johnny Depp as Crowley seem to have started from there. The cottage âcanonâ The widespread concept of Crowley and Aziraphale sharing a cottage originated from a blog post made by Neil Gaiman, reporting a conversation between him and Terry Pratchett regarding the whereabouts of their characters. Gaiman has since offered the precision that this cottage sharing thing would happen way after the events of the sequel that was never written, so years after Armageddon, and that the location would be Devilâs Dyke in the South Downs. LINK TO THE ORIGINAL POST ON GAIMANâS BLOG LINK TO A COMPREHENSIVE EXPLANATION (by @irisbleufic) LINK TO A TUMBLR ASK FOR GAIMAN ABOUT THE SOUTH DOWNS LINK TO A SCREENSHOT OF A TWEET BY GAIMAN The New Year Resolutions List (made for Harper Collins, now taken down from their website) A list of resolutions written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett on request of the publisher in 2005, one list for Crowley, one list for Aziraphale. LINK TO THE LIST ( by @ladylier )
LINK TO AN INTERVIEW WHERE NEIL GAIMAN TALKS ABOUT A FEW OF THE THINGS MENTIONNED IN THIS POST And as an ultimate bonus, as I was gathering all the informations for this masterpost, I found back Michael Sheenâs Spotify Good Omens Playlist. EDIT (02/08/2020): Someone mentionned (in a post I canât find anymore ?) that on the list of existing merch that was absolutely unexpected, there was a whole collection of Good Omens perfume oils. It was made around 2007 with the approval of Pratchett and Gaiman and was apparently updated when the series came out in 2019. The profits of the oils go to different charities.
I was also reminded of the Chattering Order of Saint Beryl, a group of singers promoting the TV series before its release in 2019. Their Youtube Channel has a playlist that was last updated in June 2020. There is one video clip of the song Brand New Baby Smell that features a cameo by Neil Gaiman. And I found back @fuckyeahgoodomensâs masterpost about the merch, even though I mentionned most of these in this masterpost, Iâll include the link for convenience sake.

Alliance Commander Ask
tagged by @callaviaâ(thank you!), just gonna open tag if anyone wants to do it :)
1) Whoâs your Alliance Commander? What class are they? Alignment? Random other facts you wanna share?
Tiiiiime for canon #2, aka my beautiful avocado girl Vica Nerai. Fully LS Consular Shadow(added Sage when she got a second class). Loves Theron, Crete the Manka cat, and hot chocolate.
2) Whatâs a reason or two you like that this character is your Commander?
She has the patience of a saint and is nearly impossible to rile, makes her an extremely good diplomat and calming presence for an Alliance full of former enemies.Â
3) Whatâs a reason or two you donât like about them being Commander?
She feels obligated to solve all the galaxyâs problems (even without being asked) and has trouble taking a break and letting other people Save the Dayâą so she doesnât burn out.
4) Why did this character of all your OCs become Commander?
Equal parts bc she romanced Theron so I had to take her through SoR etc and bc I think she makes a damn good Commander.
5) Who did they side with? Did they stay loyal or go saboteur? Or maybe you headcanon they defect properly?
Republic all the way, baby. đ She did keep the Alliance independent; sheâs too happy with/proud of what sheâs built, and she doesnât like how (relatively) easy it was for the Republic to fall under the sway of a de facto dictator(Saresh). Just bc Rans seems friendly and down to earth and all that doesnât mean that danger is gone.
6) Are there any NPCâs from the class stories youâd like to see/HC join the Alliance? Ex: Master Timmns, Ardun Kothe, Watcher One, etc.
Aside from the ones I mentioned for Tel, Attros Finn, Chance, Crystaâs daughter(CANNOT remember her name to save my life rn), Beryl Thorne, Agent Galen, a couple of the Masters from Consular Act 1(maybe Tykan and Sidonie?), Master Oâa.
7) Howâs your OC feeling about the current Malgus situation?
Sheâs genuinely hoping itâs done, heâs beaten and not going to be a problem anymore. But they thought that after he was defeated(and supposedly killed) over Ilum*, and sheâs all too familiar with the penchant powerful Sith have for coming back. Thereâs a small part of her, a part of her thatâs very tired but still too Jedi to kill a âdefenselessâ prisoner that hopes if he tries anything again in the future he fights to the death.Â
*she did not handle the Ilum arc, so she heard Malgus was dead but wasnât present to see it
8) Are any of your other OCâs part of the Alliance? If yes, what do they do for the Alliance? Do they get along with your Commander?
Yep. Her canon also has Briyoni(Trooper, the one to handle Ilum), who is her younger sister, for sure and tentatively: Eliyis(Inquisitor), Khii Mera(Smuggler), Deira,(also smuggler) and Qhora(Knight)Â Â
9) How does your OC feel about Odessen?Â
She loves it. With the strength of her connection to the Force, sheâs very in tune with the balanced state of the planet and it gives her a sense of peace aside from that one valley that was the stuff of nightmares. She also thinks itâs a beautiful place, very scenic, and enjoys being tucked away from the rest of the galaxy.
10) How does your Commander feel about being the Commander?
Itâs exhausting but she thrives on being able to help, to do things to make the galaxy better, so she loves it. Even if she is constantly tired and it has brought almost as much strife as joy. Sheâs a workaholic who doesnât realize sheâs a workaholic half the time bc sheâs wrapped in the guise of people need me.Â
11) Favorite place in the Alliance base?
Her quarters, snuggled up on the couch with a hot drink, her Spy Husband, and a datapad sheâll more than likely fall asleep reading.
12) Favorite mission in KotFE?
Iâm always going to love Disavowed more than anything, but Vica, as would be expected, loves ch 9 bc not only does she get reunited with Theron and officially start a relationship with him, itâs more heavily centered on the talking/personality/diplomacy things that are right up her wheelhouse. She can fight, sheâs a badass(Kinetic Combat FTW), but she is a diplomat at heart, so stuff like interpersonal relationships is where sheâs happiest.
13) Favorite mission in KotET?
Ch 4/5 bc itâs exploring a whole new world(even if that world is trying to kill her and all her friends, itâs still fascinating), with technology and such that theyâve never seen before.
14) Least favorite mission in either? Why?
Toss up between ch 12 and 15 in KotFE for her and ch 7 in KotET. She really hates Valkorionâs little âYouâre not listening to me :(â getaway, but that Eternal Fleet ship was just awful (aside from getting to see Tai again, thatâs was pretty neat). And again, with how strong sheâs tied to the Force, Nathema was oppressive for her. It felt like a combination of being on the verge of throwing up and that dullness to your senses of recovering from a flashbang.
15) Is your Commander successful because theyâre skilled? Or are they perhaps just really lucky?
In her case, honestly, I say as a biased parent talking about a favorite child, Iâm pretty sure itâs all skill.
16) From our OCâs point of view, SoR -> KotET wasnât a fun experience, did they develop any fears as a result?
People thinking she doesnât have the galaxyâs best interests at heart. She spends years bending over backwards to help everyone she can however she can, so the whole thing in the Fractured Alliances arc with there being people who actually think she doesnât care is awful and makes her worry there are others who feel the same way, that canât have been all of them on Nathema.
17) AU time! If your Commander wasnât Commander, which of your other OCs would have likely taken their place?
Assuming all the tentative characters stay in her canon, probably Qhora. Maybe Eliyis. I have some headcanon things for Bry where I need her to not be the Outlander for them to work.
18) Whoâs someone your Commander hopes they never have to deal with again?
Aside from Valkorion? Kaliyo, Novo, Terrak Morhage, SCORPIO, Saresh, Atrius (the joys of being 100% LS; she didnât kill anyone she was given the option to, no matter how awful they are, so she has a longer list of ânever wanna deal with them againâ than some)
19) Does your Commander hold on to/still use any titles they earned before KotET?
Oh, she still holds onto Barsenâthor. That oneâs very tied to her identity as a Jedi and a defender of the good in the galaxy. She views it differently now; as an achievement and honor rather than a duty, but itâs still important.
20) Share something, anything at all, you want about your Commander that youâve not really gotten the chance to share before but really want to.
She out of all my Theronmancers panicked the most at the end of Nathema Conspiracy bc sheâs the only one with Z E R O healing abilities. Jaaideâs an Operative, Shaâreiiâs a Sorc, Khiiâs a Scoundrel. Vicaâs a Shadow, sheâs a tank, a defender, not a healer. (Or, well, wasnât. Why do you think she wanted Sage for her second combat style?) So she, who has buried her identity and worth in her ability to help, was helpless in the face of losing the man she loved, and it was not fun.
She plays the vioflute and would say sheâs a tad rusty right now, but sheâs still good.

If I decide to go with Beryl( aka Jewel) and Kenji being siblings, the story would be like this:
Their mom, who will be referred to as Ms. Hino, was pregnant with Beryl in her early 20's, with the father being her boyfriend. Unlike only child! Kenji, the father actually stays long enough for Kenji to be born. During that time, due to faniniacal instability, the father suggest the two work for Team Rocket to get some cash. ( It would be good to mention that the man wasn't a good father when Beryl was born, as he was mostly absent and neglectful). By the time Kenji was born, he dipped( both his family and Team Rocket), leaving Ms. Hino with 2 kids and being affiliated with a crime organization. Not great ( not the two kids part, the crime part). Somewhere a long the line, she meets professor elm, who helps her get on her feet and give her a place to stay as she distances herself from TR ( that's when baby Kenji met baby Aiko :3). The rest is history ( though note I said distance herself from Team Rocket, not quit...)
Now I have three options:
Only Child! Kenji with Aiko and Beryl being siblings + older siblings to their younger sibling( current canon)
Kenji and Beryl being only children were Aiko has her younger sibling
Kenji and Beryl being siblings and Aiko being the older sister to their younger sibling.
All of these could work and wouldn't change much in how I want to rewrite HGSS. The main difference is character arcs and interactions.

h a h look at the thing I did- All the vessels + Grimmchild,, and Iâll be sort of... talking about them further below. Wowie finally using this feature-- Basically its me recapping them as characters and how they are in the AU. This is going to be a long read god Iâm so sorry :<
Ghost- Ghost is the energetic one of the vessels. They just do whatever they want, they literally often do not care a lot about what they do. Ghost likes helping others, because they just wanna fix a lot of things. They like making friends, and just-- having fun. Who wouldnât? There are rare times Ghost gets mad, and when they do- they go big Shade Lord mode. In conclusion Ghost is just a very.. chaotic.. fun-loving-- andd-- helpful baby. We love them. - But onto how they appear once more- Basically, since this AU is a mix of both the dream no more ending and as well as the embrace the void ending,, this basically has Ghost go full on shade lord in their fight with Radi. They disappear afterwards, only leaving their shell behind. They are presumed to be dead by Hornet. As described quite a bit ago (when I first talked about this AU), Ghost is just.. verryyyy angry as the Shade Lord. They finally appear in Dirtmouth, lashing out and just being a ng y. They try to attack Hornet, but no, Hollow stops them-- fighting them off even in their weak form. Eventually they are given time to run back into the home they and Hornet have been staying in to retrieve Ghosts shell. Why do they retrieve Ghosts shell? Well, because they are aware that Shade Lord = Ghost. They just carefully lay their shell on the ground and sort of.. apologize. They do this by speaking to Ghost through void, void beings can do that right? Surely. Though eventually, Ghost calms down and accepts their shell, fitting their big Shade Lord form into their tiny shell. Then going to their siblings to... hug them.. strangely enough. Hollow would of course hug them back. Anddd-- thats that. Another thing that Ghost does is revive PK, Radi, and even get NKG up in the real world too. One more is that they too âreviveâ their siblings Clematis (aka the Greenpath Vessel) and Beryl (Lost Kin/Broken Vessel) by getting Mask Maker to fix their shells and then they just yeeted them into the Abyss. After a moment, they go and retrieve them, and bring them to their parents so they can deal with them then. They too sort of helped Godseeker get out of the Junk Pit, because who wants to live in garbage? They do a lot of stuff. They are happy to help. Grimmchild- Ah yes, my favorite. Grimmchild in general is.. less.. childish than she was, of course sheâd be less childish- Sheâs an adult. She has more sense than she used to, sheâs much smarter, though still retains those silly aspects of hers. Sheâs rather protective, over Ghost mostly, and usually is always with and around them. best friends for life. Sheâs the one who generally calms Ghost down when they get angry. - Alrighty, so-- After Ghost presumably had died, Grimmchild was very sad, quite sad. She usually sought out Hornet or Hollow for comfort, but generally it was Hollow whoâd give her pats and let her lay on their head. Hornet on the other hand, was quite busy,, doing Hornet things of course :> When Ghost returned, and was brought back to the house- oh-- what did Grimmchild do? Well, she literally tackled them to the ground in a hug (the way this bat lookin child hugs) because âoh my god, best friend is back, hi friend, you okay friend?â and so on, just really happy to see them. And truly-- truly-- ever since then you can never see these two apart. How Lovely. Grimmchild has a good enough relationship with her âauntâ Radi, generally it started off.. not that well but as time passed Radi decided to tolerate her (and Ghost) enough to actually be nice. Grimmchild usually seeks out Radi for advice and so on, some of the rare times that sheâs away from Ghost. But when Ghost does allow her dear ol dad to actually exist in the real world (with their ultimate goddamn shade lord powers.. pff..), sheâs very happy, very appreciative. Then theres the dilemma of her taking on the name âGrimmâ and her fathers name too basically being Grimm. She just calls him dad but usually they get confused on which Grimm someone is calling for. Silly. Clematis- Okie dokie, third one! and its the precious short baby, Clematis. Aka of course.. the Greenpath vessel. Clematis is a very meek fellow, and they generally like and appreciate being alone. They do sometimes like company, but peace and quiet is better than that. Itâs quite obvious here, Clematis is not very social. They are not very skilled at socializing but a certain someone is gonna help em. - As stated before, yeah, Clematis gets basically revived alongside Beryl and given to PK and WL so they can properly take care of their goddamn kids. Even then, Clematis often hid in places that gave them such peace and quiet that theyâd fall asleep there. Itâd take a long while to find them. They are somewhat close with their mother, since sheâd often take them to garden with her when they werenât hiding. They formed a somewhat bond with Beryl, but Beryl eventually pushed them away because of how damn mean they are. Bad Beryl. Later in life, when Clematis is an.. adult? sure, theyâve reached their own prime form. Very short though for a vessel. By then, they are living alone in Greenpath. Somehow someway, they come to befriend the oh so lovely Lace, whoâs just been seeking out someone who does not absolutely dislike her. The two become friends, and she just comes by often to have this one person who understands where sheâs coming from. Both were very lonely, now they besties. And now, a fun fact, those flowers decorated them and their moss collar are clematis flowers. They generally are quite pretty. And oh-- Clematis likes to grow flowers as they did back in Queens Gardens with their mama. Beryl- Beryl! I love them, but god are they mean. As said, Beryl is.. quite mean,, quite stubborn. They feel as if they donât need anyone, just preferring to do things their way. They donât really like their family at all, and show it by once more- being a big ol bitch. Strangely enough though, the only person in their family they arenât..really...that mean to-- is Lil Lady. Their littlest sister. They actually are nicer to her, one of the only moments they are gentle and nice are when they interacted with her. Sometimes, they are actually nicer to other people as well. That rarely happens though. - Yada yada- even when they are being taken care of by their parents they dislike them. PK is a bit distant as always, WL tries to give them love but they say no. They donât want anything from these people. Since they already did grow a bit beforehand, they are the first out of the two revived siblings to reach their prime form. They once were nicer to Clematis, now the two barely interact. Itâs kinda sad. (Itâs not fully Berylâs fault, Clematis just barely interacts with people anymore) During this time, a young Lil Lady gave them the ânecklaceâ that they still do wear to this day. They are sometimes teased for it. (Their little sister made it for them, donât j ud g e) Beryl generally likes fighting, its very fun for them. So when Hornet asked them if they would like to be one of her knights, they âhappilyâ obliged. Then being one of her knights, they are constantly told off by Hollow, whoâs one of her other knights because they donât like to listen to orders. And they often get into little fights with Lace, who too is a knight of Hornets, because oh my lets step on the shortest one who you never agree with. Either way, Beryl isnât totally terrible- but they never planned on listening to their parents when they tried to teach them to do better. Even though they are a bitch, their fellow knights (and family) will come to their aid if they need it. Hollow- FINALLY- the last one. Oh my god...Iâm mostly taking this from the recent post I did about Hollow and their own reference. Hehe. Hollow is a very gentle vessel, and too is protective, mostly over their family. They have a deep care for those who they are related to, of course of course. They too hold deep respect for their parents, and for the most part, is somewhat âcloserâ to PK, due to the fact he was the one who mostly.. raised them back then. They still are close with their mother of course. They are very friendly, but not as friendly as Ghost. More reserved?? sure. They are the one who usually keeps their fellow knights in check. - It all starts off with Hornet finding them strangely alive after the black egg is no more, and her helping them get to Dirtmouth and-- get patched up. After quite a while of recovery, the whole big shade lord thing happens-- and-- Hollow sees it fit to apologize to Ghost for everything, for leaving them to fall back into the Abyss. They are happy that Ghost accepts their apology and literally carries them back into the house. How cute. Afterwards, Hornet decides to finally take these two to see the White Lady. Oh at last, Hollow gets to face their mother. And so, they do. The moment is... quite emotional for the poor bean. They feel so guilty, that they werenât truly empty, and WL reassures them with the notion that it was not them who failed their parents, it was their parents who failed them. Sheâs going to actually try to be a proper mother.. huh.. finally. And so, Hornet leaves Hollow with WL, Ghost coming along with her because they too feel as if those two deserve some time to fix things a bit. Ah, and once more-- a bit of a timeskip. Hollow has been living quite well with their mother, with her having unbound herself and gaining some of her sight back, enough that she is able to walk around without bumping into anything lmao. They get along quite well. When Ghost brings PK around, and Hornet finally drags him to Queens Gardens-- another emotional moment for Hollow. They go and embrace their father and wont let go until he asks them too..theyâre just too damn happy to see him, though there is still that guilt of them failing him. PK himself is guilty. Then from that, and PKâs reunion with WL, they live.. quite happily, quite comfortably, and Hollow accepts their two siblings whenever Ghost is to bring them around. They are generally pleasant to their smaller sibs. But oh,, when their newest sibling finally arrives- Lil Lady- OH GOD- are they a loving big big sibling. They sort of,, cared for her a lot, and whenever PK and WL needed a break? They were there. Of course, they are a good influence on her, and Beryl is the bad influence. Though in general they have spent much more time with their little sister than Beryl has. Soon enough, when Hornet finally ascends to the throne, Hollow too is requested to be one of her knights, and of course theyâd accept. This is their sister here. Whenever she is to need help, they help, and whenever their fellow knights need help, they are there. They feel useful like this, and Hornet does greatly appreciate their company and how they can easily split up Lace and Beryl from their constant fights. Theyâre truly an older sibling, scolding those two. And lastly, the whole Radi thing. I did explain this in that post about Hollow- but Iâll say it here too. Hollow wanted closure for everything, so theyâve gone and forgiven most people who have.. hurt them? yeah. This includes Radi. Radi doesnât really want to be forgiven, she knows she did horrible things, and she isnât the most guilty about them. But either way, they forgive her, and they somewhat become.. acquaintances?? friends?? They donât really know. Sheâs just not as mean as she was to them before.. OH GOD- AND IM DONE AAAAAAAA This is a whole mess I tried my be s t whoever has read this whole thing, I thank you for reading my bullshit.

Here are some great bottom Louis fics that were posted or completed during the month of February. We really hope you enjoy this list. Happy reading!
1) Just A Little Taste Babe | Explicit | 1866 words
Note: There is no smut where someone bottoms in this fic, but it contains omega Louis, so weâve included it in this monthly roundup.Â
"Louis' thin petal pink lips strained to stay stretched open, his teeth grazing the beryl ball-gag that sat heavy against his tongue. His jaw was already starting to ache but he willed himself to focus on something else, anything else as a distraction. Like the heat that was surging through him, settling in the pit of his stomach and the apples of his cheeks which were no doubt flushed a pretty shade of rose. "
2) This Here City Is For The Lonely Ones | Explicit | 2640 words
This is Harryâs favourite part. When Louis gets so blinded by the pleasure that he doesnât think about what he should or should not be saying or doing, and just feels.Featuring: an insecure Louis and gentle dom Harry.
3) Who Let Louis Tomlinson Play Truth or Dare? | Not Rated | 2641 words
When Louis is dared to give one Harry Styles a lap dance at a frat party it doesn't take long for things to get dirty.
4) A Swallow Mates For Life | Mature | 4394 words
Louis is a young omega who just joined the workforce. When he meets his new boss, he doesn't know what to think. Work is definitely different than he thought it would be when he can't get over this little crush on his boss.
5) Always Coming Back For You | Explicit | 4729 words
Harry's been missing Louis for eight days, and eight days without his Omega feels like decades in his pre-rut state.
Louis happens to come back to him earlier than planned.
6) Wishing To Be The Friction In Your Jeans | Mature | 5023 words
Louis and Harry are both in love with each other. Both are completely oblivious to the fact that they like each other but decide to confide in Gemma. It takes a lot to get them to finally just speak to each other about how they feel.
7) Fellowship Of Eroda | Explicit | 5367 words
âJoin our DnD game,â Niall had said.âItâll be fun,â Liam had said.Neither of them had thought about the fact their DM was Harry Fucking Styles. Though in fairness they didnât know the full history behind him and Harry Fucking Styles.aka Louis may have had a four night stand with Harry and now he's stuck in a DND campaign with him.
8) Your Sex Is On Fire | Explicit | 6402 words
Louis moves in with a roommate as he starts uni. Harry, the roommate, is a lot more to deal with than he originally realized.AKA Harry is a nudist and Louis' a closeted gay man.
9) Iâll Light The Fire | Explicit | 7574 words
âAlright, baby, we can do that next time, okay?â Harry says, trying to hide the smile in his voice and moving between Louisâ spread thighs. Harry wishes he had his camera handy so he could snap a photo of the vision in front of him; the way Louisâ caramel skin is contrasting with the white sheets, his eyelashes fanning over his cheeks, and the sun rays bouncing off his back. Fucking gorgeous. Harry runs his hands up the length of Louisâ legs, digging his thumbs into the soft skin on the innermost part of his thighs. He makes a mental note to move his polaroid within arms reach of their bed.
âI might change my mind, that sounds like a lot of wor-, oh god,â Louis gets cut off as Harry licks a broad stripe up his taint to his hole, practically purring into the pillow.
AKA Prompt 173: Harry wants to rim louis in the morning when the sun is rising so they do and louisâ all sleepy soft and whiny but pliant in the golden sunlight and the whole thing is really sweet and soft and lovely.
10) Bloodletting (Dancing Out In The Garden)Â | Explicit | 10010 words
The ticklish sensation of that small tongue lapping up the blood makes Harry squirm in place, and he breaks their eye contact to glance down at the place where their bodies meet. The boy closes his eyes, his eyelashes brushing against the soft skin of his cheeks. Then, he opens his mouth, his unnaturally sharp canines glinting slightly in the warm light, and bites down on Harryâs arm.
11) Better Than Words | Explicit | 11321 words
Note: This fic is the second part of a series.
Harry and Louis have an argument while at the doctors to check on their baby. Then they celebrate Harry's birthday and Valentine's Day in their own way.
12) Shine | Explicit | 13366 words
âHow does it feel?â Harry asks, genuine curiosity evident in his voice. Louis lets his eyes drift closed and focuses on the sensations. âItâs like⊠like Iâve got hands all over me, touching me, inside and out, andâŠâ Louis tries to zone in but itâs so hard to describe. âItâs like Iâm being stimulated everywhere all at once.â As if on cue, his nipples and earlobes start tingling and he arches his back. âOh fuck, yeah.âOR the one where Louis has a thing for the sun and Harry is more than happy to indulge his sunshine boy.
13)Â Youâre My Little Sparkle Jump-Rope Queen | Not Rated | 14620 words
Note: This fic is the second part of a series.
"Daddy?" Louis whispers, cheeks flaming, and Harry chuckles deeply."Yeah, kitten. I see you're dressed up all pretty but apparently it's not for me but for some strangers on the internet." The man is stepping closer with a predatory look on his face.-Louis still is a slutty little camboy and Harry fucks him again.
14) It Is What It Is | Mature | 36686 words
"Um can I have a Heineken zero please" said a deep sexy voice that made goosebumps of erupt on my skin instantly. I looked over to see the most drop dead gorgeous human being to ever grace the planet, standing 1 meter away from me. Soft chocolate curls styled in a quiff, deep forest green eyes, smooth olive skin decorated in a multitude of various tattoos and his lips ...... Jesus Christ his lips.
15) What's Mine Is Yours To Make Your Own | Mature | 39919 words
Sometimes, the closest harry ever feels to home is louis. it's their shared hotel rooms on tour, their shoes toed off in the doorway next to each other, jackets hung on the same post.it's everything he doesn't notice until it's been taken away from him.
16) Be My Omega | Mature | 138274 words
It all started when the alpha laid eyes on the short curvy omega and he knew at that moment that his life would never be the same, in a good way of course.

hnk characters as stuff I see while stargazing
Iâm still taking a break from this series, but this particular shitpost has been sitting pretty on my hard drive for a few months now, and people seemed to like birdseki no kuni, so I think I shall publish it. For the sake of my stress levels, please avoid posting spoilers in the tags.
Phosphophyllite:
Eta Carinae. Canât decide whether to be one of the brightest stars in the sky, or completely invisible to the naked eye. Covered in dark clouds.  A mess.  About two minutes from going supernova.
Antarcticite:
The Perseid meteor shower. Really cool, but you only have like half a month to get to know it before itâs gone.
Cinnabar:
Lunar eclipse. Red, edgy, and emo; makes a statement.
Cairngorm:
Shaula and Lesath, aka the Catâs Eyes asterism in Scorpius. Â Stares at you with disapproval bordering on contempt.
Padparadscha:
Venus. Bright and beautiful. Light of my life. But itâs only up for a few hours at a timeÂ
Ghost Quartz:
The Milky Way. Reticent and shy.  Always there, but only visible in ideal lighting conditions.  Quite pleasant when it decides to show itself
Diamond:
Canopus. FlashyâŠÂ But only second best!
Kongou:
Polaris. Everything revolves around him whether he wants it to or not.
Rutile:
Cetus. Oh god, itâs going to eat me!
Yellow Diamond:
Virgo. Just wants to lie down and take a nap.
Bort:
Orion. Swole and overbearing. Always waving a weapon around.
Lapis Lazuli:
Hale-Bopp. you missed it because you were three years old when it passed by.  The Gen Xers in your local amateur astronomy club talk about what a profound impact it had on their lives, but youâve never seen it, and you never will. You are quietly bitter about this.
Alexandrite:
Auriga. Â Both have goblin energyâAlex because they are a turbo nerd, Auriga because it looks like a garden gnome.
Amethyst:
Mizar and Alcor. Babyâs first binary stars.
Euclase:
Summer Triangle. Always watching over you, (unless itâs winter.)  Itâs up to you to decide whether or not this is a good thing.
Jade:
Big Dipper. Basic.
Benitoite:
Cassiopeia. Also basic, but less stands out much less.
Neptunite:
Lynx. Hard to see. Skulks around showing only its back. What is it up to? What is it thinking about? Youâll never know.
Zircon:
Canis Minor. Small and has no money, so you can imagine the kind of stress itâs under. Follows Orion around.
Red Beryl:
Corona Borealis. Â Elegant and fashionable.
Ventricosus:
Arcturus. This star holds a special place in my heart for being the first non-basic star I identified without the help of a chart, at the tender age of eleven.  Ventricosus also holds a special place in my heart because sheâs great.
Variegatus:
Pleiades. A breath of fresh air when youâre feeling down, just like chapter fifty one.
Barbata:
Lepus. Lowkey, but pretty likable.
Cicada:
Delphinus. Very cute. Shaped like a friend.
Aechmea:
Full moon. A nuisance that makes stargazing more difficult. You wish it would just go away but it has a knack for showing up in every chapter.
T R A G I CÂ E N D I N G:
The Andromeda Galaxy. Not quite here yet, but careening towards us at 68 miles per second.

The HnK rocks as pasta
aka my greatest contribution to the fandom yet. tag yourselves
Padparadscha
bucatini. sexy. suave. the best thing since sliced bread. way better than sliced bread actually. tragically hard to eat. like spaghetti but with a hole in the middle for surprise splashes of sauce and tragic comparisons with a certain rock
Watermelon tourmaline
ravioli. creative and cute, lots of possibilities. hides its true power inside
Phosphophyllite
gnocchi. round. cute. SOFT. a baby. an actual baby. must protecc.Â
Cairngorm
mac and cheese. problem child, italy hates it but the rest of the world thinks itâs legit pasta. trying to fit in, currently failing
Yellow Diamond
stelline. a metaphor for tears. tastes like grandmaâs cooking and crushing disappointment. each star represents a different hope you lost as you grew older. smile and eat another spoonful
Alexandrite
spaghetti. traveled the world, ambassador of the italian culture. knows many things. too many things. hides trauma about being sold in tins under layers of sauce. lanky
Euclase
ditalini. cute, right? harmless, thats why you bought it. it was a stormy winter night and ditalini was the only pasta to welcome your frozen ass back home. you thought you still had some spaghetti left, but maybe you were wrong. youâre thankful, but not thankful enough. you buy new pasta. you never get to eat it. each time you open your pantry, ditalini is all you can find. you havenât even bought ditalini in months. since winter started. when did winter start, exactly? itâs still cold, itâs been 6 months and itâs still winter. whatâs happening to you? to time? to your pantry? you steal a glance at ditalini, looking for answers. the bag of ditalini smiles at you. this is okay.Â
Lapis
candele. Feeds on chaos. looks stylish but secretly evil, never eat this pasta. no seriously. thereâs no proper way to eat it, you can only break it in smaller pieces and itâs gonna be a mess in any case. also itâs super good so itâll trick you into buying more
Bort
maccheroni. the perfect pasta, squared and practical, goes well with just about everything. regularly looks down on other pasta. Youâre all unworthy
Diamond
farfalle. frilly and fresh. trust issues. looks cute but actually hard to cook. kind of underwhelming once youâve had it a few times and farfalle knows. secretly wants to become maccheroniÂ
Zircon
penne. versatile, great with kids and with simple sauces. trying its best but hides behind maccheroniâs shadow
Cinnabar
filindeu. traditional forgotten pasta that only 3 grannies in a forgotten village in a forgotten region of sardinia still know how to make. looks intimidating, turns into literal soup. extremely edgy, hasnât spoken to any other pasta in 2000 years.Â
Amethysts
gemelli. twisted and kind of creepy. spin it in your hands. keep spinning it. itâs like Archimedesâ screw. spin it again, slowly. itâs an endless loop. itâs fascinating. you canât stop staring. your consciousness is gradually leaving your body, soon youâll be free of this physical shell. soon.Â
Obsidian
lasagna. yeah yeah, the melted cheese looks like lava and obsidian is a volcanic glass. but also. is this pasta? is this a category in itself? how powerful is it exactly? and is obsidian a gem? a lunarian spy?? we may never know
Rutile
linguine. elegant and stylish. will slip away from your fork and from the conversation with a sassy remark. has a weird thing going on with bucatini but if you mention it, linguine will impale everyone in the room and then itself
Benito
fusilli. extremely underrated. 80% or the reason is because people are still fighting about what, exactly, classifies as fusilli. but you donât need a dictionary to appreciate its uncomplicated goodness. someday yâall gonna run out of maccheroni and whoâll come to your rescue? who?? respect fusilli. Â
Jade
tortellini. on good terms with everyone in the family. a little shy, tends to take itself too seriously. full of good intentions and very, very soft
Ghost Quartz
maccheroncini. mac ân cheeseâs unproblematic sibling. no cheese, only mac. not so secretly empty inside
Red Beryl
reginette. swirly and creative. arguably the most stylish pasta around. looks like elegant ribbons and is not afraid to call you out on your horrible fashion choices. itâs not wrong though, where did you even find those socks?
Antarcticite
quadrucci. look at it. just look. isnât it adorable? cute, tiny squares of regular size, arithmetic never looked so comforting. Good and unproblematic, only here to dispense your soup with love and understanding. Perfect for winter
Admirabilis
conchiglie. it literally means seashells. i know. i was running out of ideas. comes in different sizes and levels of pretentiousness, can probably speak latinÂ
Aechmea
ruote. wth. wth?? look at that, look at that itâs all weird. this is not pasta. everyone hates this. take this weird thing away from me
#houseki no kuni#land of the lustrous#this is my most cursed post so far#im sorry this isnt everyone there're just too many characters#mobile users pls dont hate me i know this is a lot of pics#best

Warrior Nuns Through TV History
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
TV nunning is a broad church. Sometimes, itâs all gunfire, demon-dissolving punches and running through walls, as in Netflixâs latest comic book adaptation Warrior Nun. In that show, a mystical artifact gives a non-believing teen superpowers passed down the generations from holy sister to holy sister. Defeat the demons, protect the world, praise the Lord, and so on.
Other fictional TV nuns lead quieter, more cake-focused lives, but that doesnât mean they arenât also fighters. You might say that like superheroes, not all warrior nuns wear capes. Youâd be wrong â nuns definitely wear capes. Theyâre called mantles and though roomy and practical, likely represent a significant time commitment with regard to ironing.
Warrior Nunâs superpowered teen follows in the echoey footsteps of a whole conventful of fictional TV nuns remembered here â some good, some bad, some inordinately fond of biscuits, but all, in their own way, warriors.
Sister Mary Loquacious in Good Omens (2019)
Played by: Nina Sosanya
Allegiance: Satanic nuns of the Chattering Order of St Beryl
Warrior level: Novice
Weapon of choice: Infantilising baby talk of hoofikins and widdle demonic tails
Specialism: Biscuits with pink icing
Most likely to say: âFancy me holding the Antichrist! Counting his little toesy-woesies!â
Getting into heaven? Absolutely not
Demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale may have been Good Omensâ major players, but Sister Mary Loquacious kicked off the whole mess by accidentally confusing the infant Adversary, Destroyer of Kings, Angel of the Bottomless Pit, Prince of this World and Lord of Darkness with the human child of a couple from the Oxfordshire village of Tadfield. Easily done.
Sister Agatha in Dracula (2020)
Played by: Dolly Wells
Allegiance: The Army of the Faithful, St Maryâs Convent of Budapest
Warrior level: Intellectually? Top Tier. Sheâs Draculaâs âevery nightmare at once: an educated woman in a crucifixâ
Weapon of choice: Wooden stakes and double-barrel wit
Specialism: Scientific rigour and one-liners
Most likely to say: âA house of God is it? Well thatâs good, we could do with a man about the place, eh sister?â
Getting into heaven? Ja, if she cared to grace it with her presence.
Unfazed, brave, funny and intellectually curious, Dutch-born Agatha put both her faith and folklore to the test when she took on Count Dracula, meticulously gathering research on his powers and learning the rules of the beast to try to use them against him. A true scientist and quite a woman.
Sister Michael in Derry Girls (2018)
Played by: Siobhan McSweeney
Allegiance: Our Lady Immaculate College/Rawhide
Warrior level: Untested in battle but doubtless lethal
Weapon of choice: Apathy, withering sarcasm and eye-rolls
Specialism: Judo (on Fridays)
Most likely to say: âSweet suffering Jehovahâ
Getting into heaven? I wouldnât be the one to stop her.
You wonât find an ounce of sentiment beneath this wimple, Sister Michaelâs dry disdain for the pupils at Our Lady Immaculate is expressed only through cutting remarks and declarations of boredom. Not a fan of priests, the French, love songs or⊠most things, sheâs an authority figure for the Derry Girls. Every so often though, like when she turned a blind eye to Erin and co. distributing their banned lesbianism-focused edition of the school magazine, sheâll surprise you.
Sister Jane Ingalls in Orange is the New Black (2013)
Played by: Beth Fowler
Allegiance: Catholicism
Warrior level: Basically nil as sheâs a committed pacifist, though she does punch Gloria in the mouth at one point for PR
Weapon of choice: Civil disobedience and the Good Book
Specialism: Activism
Most likely to say: âI was afraid nunning was going to be boring!â
Getting into heaven? Sure
As a young novice in the 1960s, Ingalls fell in with the bad nuns and got a taste for non-violent activism. A bunch of protests and a memoir later (full points for the title: Nun Shall Pass), and the church didnât want anything to do with her, neglecting to cover her legal fees after she handcuffed herself to a nuclear facility, landing her in Litchfield.
Sister Harriet in Hunters (2019)
Played by: Kate Mulvany
Allegiance: Anti-Nazi, Pro-Quip
Warrior level: Top level. A highly capable operative.
Weapon of choice: Gun, blowtorch, you name it
Specialism: Threats of extreme violence delivered in the voice of a Downton Abbey marchioness.
Most likely to say: âI will set you aflame, childâ
Getting into heaven? Thereâs some intrigue as to her real deal but she certainly seems to be on the right side of history.
This MI6 agent/Nazi-hunting nun from Amazon Primeâs Hunters is something of a Scary Poppins. She does an excellent line in death threats and action-movie quips. Sheâs deadly, has a shady backstory, speaks in a cut-glass English accent and is fond of biscuits. In other words: our kind of nun.
Matron Casp in Doctor Who âNew Earthâ (2006)
Played by: Doña Croll
Allegiance: Sisters of Plenitude
Warrior level: Merciless eugenicist
Weapon of choice: Cat claws and science
Specialism: Incinerating conscious and begging-for-help human cloning experiments without a spark of fellow-feeling.
Most likely to say: âWho needs arms when we have clawsâ
Getting into heaven? Nah. Space prison more like.
The Sisters of Plenitude, healers on New Earth, may have called their work âthe tender application of scienceâ but âthe incredibly painful application of bastard crueltyâ better sums up their human cloning farm. This order takes a lifelong vow to help and mend, but clearly not to do no harm. And their hospital doesnât even have a shop.
Abbess Hild in The Last Kingdom (2015-)
Played by: Eva Birthistle
Allegiance: Uhtred of Bebbanburg/the Lord
Warrior level: Advanced (but retired)
Weapon of choice: Dagger
Specialism: Throwing buckets of cold water on a sleeping Uhtred and sawing through the necks of dead Danes
Most likely to say: âI have killed, and I will kill again Iâm sure, but hopefully not todayâ
Getting into heaven? Big yes.
Hildâs journey in The Last Kingdom took her from nun to warrior and back again. Rescued from attack by Uhtred, Leofric and Yseult, she swore to become a fighter and more-than earned the title. Eventually, her vocation called her back to the church, where she now remains as the Abbess with whom you donât mess.
Sister Jude in American Horror Story: Asylum
Played by: Jessica Lange
Allegiance: Catholicism and the teachings of Monseigneur Timothy Howard
Warrior level: Complicated
Weapon of choice: Forced commitment to an insane asylum,
Specialism: Guilt
Most likely to say: âAll monsters are humanâ
Getting into heaven? Bad things happened under her watch but she does try to atone
The head of Briarcliff, an institution for the criminally insane, Sister Jude is a complex character with a complicated trajectory. She mistreats, but is also also gravely mistreated.
Sister Monica Joan in Call the Midwife (2012-)
Played by: Judy Parfitt
Allegiance: Raymond Nonnatus, patron saint of childbirth
Warrior level: Yoda
Weapon of choice: Forceps and fey literary quotation
Specialism: Sniffing out and emptying hidden cake tins
Most likely to say: âMy first responsibility is to ensure the consumption of this cakeâ
Getting into heaven? Hundo P
AKA the best Call The Midwife nun, and an OG resident of Nonnatus House ever since the BBC One series began. Owing to her advanced years and developing dementia, Sister Monica Joan is now retired from midwifery, but in her prime there wasnât a birth canal in Poplar that hadnât welcomed her up to the elbow. Sheâs highly educated and extremely well-read with an instinctive love of beauty, poetry, cake and Doctor Who, which makes her the patron saint of all our hearts.
Sister Sybil in Camelot (2011)
Played by: Sinéad Cusack
Allegiance: Shady but ultimately loyal to Morgan
Warrior level: Witch
Weapon of choice: Dark magicks
Specialism: Child sacrifice?
Getting into heaven? Nah.
When Uther Pendragon banished his daughter Morgan in Chris Chibnallâs 2011 Camelot, she was raised in a nunnery by a sister who was no stranger to the dark arts. When Morgan (played by Eva Green) returned to claim her birthright, Sister Sybil was the one whispering poison in her ear and teaching her how to channel her powers.
Sister Bertrille in The Flying Nun (1967)
Played by: Sally Field
Allegiance: El Convento San Tanco in San Juan
Warrior level: Negligible
Weapon of choice: Not so much a weapon, but her flight-enabling cornette was the big thing.
Specialism: As the title suggests, flight
Most likely to say: âWhen lift plus thrust is greater than load plus drag, anything can fly.â
Getting into heaven? Si señor.
A creation of Tere RĂosâ book The Fifteenth Pelican, Sister Bertrille was the fresh-faced nun-next-door whose cornette combined with the Puerto Rico coastal winds allowed her to fly in the 1960s TV series. According to Sally Fieldâs excellent memoir In Pieces, the whole experience was more drag than take-off.
Miss Clavel in Madeline (1988-2001)
Voiced by: Judith Orban & various
Allegiance: An old house in Paris/the Catholic church
Warrior level: more sentry than prize fighter
Weapon of choice: Education! (Read: day trips to the circus)
Specialism: Waking up in the middle of the night with a nagging sense that somethingâs off kilter with her young schoolgirl charges, then singing a song about it.
Most likely to say: âVite, vite mes petitsâ
Getting into heaven? Mais oui
The headteacher at Madelineâs Parisian boarding school in the Ludwig Bemelmansâ books and their various TV and film adaptations, Miss Clavel is a kindly sort. She gives her young boarding school pupils warm moral instruction and generally manages to extract Madeline from the mouth of whatever tiger sheâs crawled inside that week. Not ferocious, as warriors go, but kind and dependable.
Septa Unella in Game of Thrones (2015)
Played by: Hannah Waddingham
Allegiance: The Faith of the Seven
Warrior level: High Bastard
Weapon of choice: Wooden spoon and ignominy
Specialism: Torture and bell-ringing. Â
Most likely to say: âConfess!â Â
Getting into heaven? Not in one piece she wonât after what Cersei did to her
The Geneva Convention didnât reach the Seven Kingdoms. If it had, then the supposedly holy Septa Unella wouldnât have beaten Cersei Lannister with a water ladle and made her drink from the floor like a dog before parading her naked to jeering crowds around the city. Not a nun to mess with, unless youâre a Lannister.

MEMORIES OF JOHANNESBURG, Â CITY OF GOLD
Written and Compiled By
©  ANNE LAPEDUS BREST
On the 4th February 1961, when I was 14 years old, Â and my brother Robert was 11, our family came to live in Johannesburg. Â
We had left Ireland, land of our birth, leaving behind our beloved Grandparents, family, friends, and a very special and  never-to-be-forgotten little furry friend,  to start a new life in South Africa, land of Sunshine and Golden opportunityâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ The Goldeneh MedinaâŠ...
We came out on the âEdinburgh Castleâ, arriving  Cape Town 2nd Feb 1961.  We did a day tour of Chapmans Peak Drive,  Muizenberg,  went to somewhere called the âRed Sailsâ  and visited our Sakinofsky/Yodaiken family in Tamboerskloof.
We arrived at Park Station (4th Feb 1961), Jhb,  hot and dishevelled after a nightmarish train ride, breaking down in De Aar and dying of heat.
We lived in Becker Street, Yeoville, Robert went to K.E.S and I went to Barnato Park (aka Johannesburg Girlsâ High) in Berea.  Robert was in Cadets , I played hockey, and bunked school (with Gilda Goldblatt!!)  Our next-door neighbours were Michael and Sandra Golding,  Zena and Teddy Cohen lived in Becker Street also and Ronnie and Nigel Baskin lived in Yeo Street near the Richters -  Selma and Charles Richter,.
Girls at Barnato Park lived in mainly Hillbrow,  Berea, Yeoville, Bellevue,  Houghton, Orchards, Melrose and Dunkeld.  After school, many of us would catch the 19 bus from Tudhope Avenue  Berea to Raleigh Street, Yeoville, but many girls were collected by beautifully coiffed and bee-hived mothers with long painted nails, arriving to collect them in huge fancy Chevrolets, with  big catsâ eye tail-lights.
 ONLY IN SOUTH AFRICA âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ.Â
Oy, but I had to get used to so many new expressions âŠâŠ..
â See you this arvy, Hey? â  and   âSee you just now, Annieâ   (I learnt the hard way that âJust Nowâ didnât mean immediately)
âThereâs the new girl in Form 3, âŠâŠ..  Shame!!â   âMy sisterâs baby is so cute, âŠâŠ  Shame! Â
People would give me directions and tell me to turn at the robot.
 Can I  Lend  your book?
Whatever I said, the girls would answer âIs itâ ?
The shul is full of KUGELSâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ.
Why did the bus-conductor call us all  âDonkeyâ  when he collected our tickets????  âThank you,⊠Donkeyâ and the Klippies would say it in a high-pitched voice. âThank you, donkeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyâ
You MUST come visit this arvy,  see?   You MUST go and see Cliff Richard at the Collosseum.  You MUST buy the latest Elvis Presley record.   MUST,  MUST,  MUST  (only in South Africa!  Say that âMUSTâ to people overseas, they think you are a control-freak).  (took me a while to get used to it!!)  Â
G.C. EMMMMMÂ
Girls would talk about great talent at a party, and they talked about Chracks , boys talked about  âgood stockâ .

Well, yes , no fine, Those were the days my friend we thought theyâd never end âŠ...  Â
SUBURBS Â Â
In those days a majority of the Jewish community seemed to be living in Hillbrow,  Berea,  Bellevue,  Yeoville , Cyrildene,  Observatory,  Dewetshof, Judithâs Paarl,  Highlands North, Houghton,  Dunkeld,  Melrose, Hyde Park.

I must have been a real âchrackâ in those days, coming from Ireland, funny clothes, and even funnier out-of-control curly hair, and an accent nobody could understand.  I found it hard to make friends, but I eventually palled up with Gilda Goldblatt (now Galvad) , (daughter of Leslie (Zâl) and Mona Voloshen Goldblatt (Oâh),  from Webb Street.  Leslie (Zâl)  was a Choirester in Wolmarans Street Shul) and Gilda and I have remained friends to this day.

Boys had a way of walking, hands in pockets, only the thumbs visable and rolled from side to side with a sort of rolling gait, and the more they rolled as they walked, the more macho they felt! Â
Who remembers ????âŠâŠ   Debras  (Schmaltz), and  when a tub of Yoghurt cost 8c, and an Appleltizer cost the same, a bar of Cadburys chocolate cost 5c and there was a chocolate bar called âHoneycrispâ also for 5c, and you could get a Toasted Cheese  for 15c.   Stamps cost 2Âœ cents .  If you left the envelope open, it was cheaper⊠  Airletter forms in green,  airmail writing paper, airmail envelopes and Basildon Bond writing paper.

The Black Steer in Yeoville  - fab apple crumble and double thick cream and  in the 1960s the price of a Steerburger, with Pickled Cucumber, fried onions and salad was 45c âŠâŠâŠ.but at the Golden Spur,  the Burger would cost you 50c and the Yeoville crowd felt that was too expensive!)  Normanâs Grill (for Prawns!) in the Jeppe Hotel.   East Africa Pavilion (well known for itâs curries, where the waiters wore a red âfezâ,  The 252 Tavern.  His  Majestyâs Cellars,  69 Grill.

And the âŠâŠ the motor racing at  Kyalami Race Track
And the Motor Rallys?. Anyone remember  Lionel Gilinsky?   He raced something called âProduction carsâ in âEndurance Racesâ at Old Grand Central Circuit ( Halfway House, now called Midrand) in the late 60âs and 70âs  -  and later âHistoricâ Cars at Kyalami Race Track.  He was known to be amongst  South Africaâs Top 3 Racing and Motor rally drivers in the 60âs, 70âs and 80âs.  Not bad for a boy from Welkom!!
Attorneys. -  Moss Morris & Ettlinger, (Lennie Ettlinger,  Max Levenberg,  Selwyn Cohen,  Hilliard Gordon,  articled clerks then - Rodney Berman and John Gilbert,  Also a Selwyn someone articled clerk).   Routlege Douglas  Wilson  Auret  & Wimble,    Wides , Chain & Berman  (Cyril Wides, Inky (Ian) Chain and Rodney Berman),   Edward Nathan.    Israel, During & Kossuth
Tour Operators - Springbok (Atlas) Safaris, Â (Julie Lapedus).

HILLBROW.  We always went to The  Curzon and  Clarendon for 7/6- , ( later 75c,)  and then a Bioscope called the International (owned by Herman and Maxwell Youngelson) was opened at the top of Pretoria Street and there it would cost you between 90c and R1.00, but the seats were so comfy and the whole bioscope was so plush, that the Yeovillites felt it was well worth the extra. Â
Anyone remember The  French Hairdressing Saloon   (a Mrs. Sher was the manageress) and the  OK  Bazaars and Carnival Novelty.

The word âTHE.  â I learned in school that before a consonant we say âTHEâ .  âTHEâ bed,  âTHEâ table,  âTHEâ book. And before a vowel the have to prounce the âtheâ as âTHEEââŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ.  âTHEEâ  Apple,  âTHEEâ elephant,  âTHEEâ egg.
So why then, do we hear (only in South Africa) people saying  âTHUHâ apple,  âTHUHâ Elephant,  âTHUHâ egg.  Please hold for âTHUHâ Operator.  And why do some of us say  âthe PHOTAâ when it is clearly âPHOTOâ.
FOLKSINGING Era .  Who remembers the  Nite beat, run by Abe (who ran the tuck shop at the Yeoville Swimming Pool), and the folk-singers Ian & Ritchie ( Ian Lawrence and Ritchie Morris),   Des and Dawn (Lindberg)(âAnd the Seagullâs name was Nelsonâ) (Dawn wore her hair in two pigtails then) Colin Shamley,  Dave Marks (âMountains of Menâ  and âMaster Jackâ) Cornelia, And  The Troubador,  The College Set - Andy Levy,  Hugh Solomon,  Norman Cohen)   Keith Blundell and the Baladeers,   Aubrey and Beryl Ellis.   Mervyn and Jocelyn Miller (from Potch).  Mel, Mel and Julian (Mel Miller, Mel Green, and Julian Laxton.
BIKERS and the Hellâs Angels, wearing black leather jackets, chains and the peace sign often around their necks,  roaring down Pretoria St and Kotze St on Harley Davidsons making a helluva racket, some of the more nervous  Biker girls precariously hanging  onto their boyfriendâs backs,  but âthe in girlsâ didnât hold on, they somehow balanced themselves by placing their hands nonchelantly behind the seat, looking around, throwing their hair back, with a  âdonât- sigâwith- meâ look, lazer- beam- eyes, -lookingâout- through- thick- black- fringes, and a tattoo here and there. Â
And nobody did âsigâ with them, either. Â
The FLYING SAUCER is where they all met.  Pretoria Street, Hillbrow.
Hillbrowâs Eateries and Coffee Bars  Doneyâs coffee bar for the best cappuccino in town (who remembers  Jeftah and George, the Duke)   CafĂ© Wien (later on), with the most comfortable seats,  it was like sitting in your own lounge,  CafĂ© Krantzler,   Dunk-a-donut, The  Milky Lane,  the Florian (where the bus turned to go down Twist street to Town).   Mi Vami,  Lucky  Luke  (Steak House in the 70s),  Fontana, open 24 hours a day, (famous for their chickens roasted on a spit,)  Pikin-a-chicken,  Porter House (Frulatto and the best Pink Sauce in town) not to mention the steaks (not that I ate them being one of the Kosher Kids, but I was sorely tempted, HA HA HA) and the German Beer Keller,  The Hamburger Hut,  Golden Egg,  Bella Napoli. Kiss-Kiss.
The CHEZA in Jeppe Street.  Famous for Muesli.
HAIR STYLES and fashion.  We dyed our hair black with Palette where you dropped a white tablet into some black gunky muck and we all had pitch black hair. The Blacker your hair, the more âsharpâ you were.  We teased it and wore it in Wings, and the bigger the Wings were, the more âwith itâ you were.  And remember the stiff petticoats under your many Flared skirts,  and cat-eye glasses?  Helanca stove-pipes,  in all colours.  Studded Belts, Box Pleated skirts,  and ID Bracelets (with your boyfriendâs name engraved on the inside), Plaid pinafores came later on, and a ridiculous little narrow velvet bow on a clip or hairgrip which we found a space for in the teased birdâs nest, usually just to the back of the fringe. And also a thin chiffon scarf tied around the hair.  White high-heeled shoes  (I wouldnât be seen dead in half the things we wore then)
My Mom always said that my hair was like a Birdâs Nest at the back, but then I didnât have eyes at the back of my head,  (just as well).  Boys wore their hair sleeked back with Brylcream and Vitalis and all bought their t-shirts from the Skipper Bar. (Arnie, Mervyn, Earle and Barry Sacks) Black t-shirts with  thin white and red stripes around the neck.  And a corresponding white tee-shirt, with black and red stripes.  If you didnât have one of those, you were not one of the âinâ boys!!!! Â
And then girls started to iron their hair.  I remember my Mother used to plonk my head onto the ironing board, and put a brown paper bag on top of it, and iron away until I had sleek straight hair, but then the minute it rained, I looked at though someone has plugged me into an electric socketâŠ.  Durbs did the same to all those who had out-of-control hair -   Frizzed them out in 2 mns flat,  in fact as soon as you got to Van Reenenâs Pass into Natal, you knew you were there because your hair suddenly was on its own missionâŠâŠ..
and who Whirled their hair?????  Oy - a bittereh gelechterâŠ.. We whirled it One way, then the other way, and you had dead straight hair (until you hit the 505 Club and the first thing youâd notice is that your fringe was just ânot thereâ anymore) and the rest of your poor hair style was all moving in different directions.  If it was raining, and you opened your front door, bang went the straight hair.
Remember those little DOEKs we wore on our head when we went to Durbs. Â I have a photo of myself wearing one.
COME ON GIRLS  - who used to sleep with curlers/rollers in their hair!! and who remembers using the inside of a TOILET ROLL as an emergency roller???????  And all this lot would be covered over by a hairnet.  Of course morning brought a splitter- of- a- headache from the curlers digging into your head.  Anyone remember?  Bet you do!!!  I DO!! There you are, the big ADMITâŠâŠâŠ.  What on EARTH did we look like?  I donât even want to think about it âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ
I always say that if I have to come back in another life, I want to come back as ME but with dead straight hair. Second choice, I wouldnât mind coming back as one of my spoilt-out-of-control  Dachshunds either (but the  straight haired type, not the wiry haired) (ha ha)

CRICKET.   Dr. Ali BACHER  former South African cricket captain and one of the greastet cricketers in South Africa. Ali BACHER received South Africaâs Sports Merit Award, the countryâs HIGHEST athletics honour. Ali is married to Shira (I am friendly with Shiraâs sister Marsha KARKLIN,) and I remember their daughter Ann being a Tennis champion when she was just a little kid of 11 in the days of the âJewish Guildâ  Other well known South African Jewish cricketers came later on, Mandy YACHAD , and later Adam BACHER, nephew of Dr. Ali Bacher
TYPEWRITERS.   My first memory of a type writer was that old black thing with with a keyboard with round circular lettering and a typewriter ribbon.  My Mom used one in Dublin,  Then I remember the Olivetti and also a swiss typewriter,  but the ones where you would have to bash a silver thing on the upper  right to go to a new line.  I remember electric typewriters, and using a white powdery Tippex  thing for covering up mistakes, except that they never quite covered them up, particularly on the carbon copies. And remember the carbon copies.. HA HA,  and when I worked for lawyers, they didnât allow those tippex rub-outs, so one little mistake and you had to start all over again. Remember STENCILS and Roneo-ing various blurb.  I can remember using a bright shocking pink liquid with the stencils, I think.  We wrote to âMessers. So and soâ, and weâd end off with â I remain, Yours Faithfullyâ
WEDDINGS  and when the Bride/Kallah would change into her âgoing away outfitâ and the blissful couple would leave the wedding to go off on their honeymoon.  When Brideâs kept their vails on the entire night. When there were only 4 pole-holders and the Brideâs  parents paid for the entire wedding, and the Groom/Chossenâs parents would pay for the booze, the photographer and the flowers.
THE CIRCUS  Boswell-Wilkie. I hated the circus, terrified of the animals and sorry for them at the same time, a hypnotized crocodile once got out- of- control and strarted climbing out of the ring into the screaming audience. Clowns clowning around were never my scene, and when the trapeze artists or the tight-rope walkers did their act, my heart was always in my mouth, terrified they would fall or something.  One did once, I can never get that memory out of my mind.  Around 1964 came the Beatles, (â8 days a weekâ, âLove Love me doâ and later, âSgt Pepperâs Lonely Heartâs club Bandâ âHey Judeâ)  The Rolling Stones, (Angie)  the Mini Skirt era and  Mary Quant and the birth of the DiscothĂšque .   Op Art earings in gaudy colours and the skirts continued to get shorter.  Girls wore double breasted Pin stripe suits which made a come back.  The Boutiques were born.  I remember the  BENATER family had a great boutique âCarnabiesâ, at the top of Rissik Street, or near there.  It was, I think, the first shop of itâs kind.  Very modern, trendy and for the young (20s and 30s).  And the Pink Panther was in Hillbrow - Also very trendy gear.
Remember Twiggy?âŠâŠâŠ.  She was on every Magazine cover, often holding her Teddy Bear, feet pidgeon-toed, with beautiful big brown eyes, and a body so thin, she could fit through a crack in the wall.  She started a trend, her, and âthe Shrimpâ -  (Jean Shrimpton),  and Mary Quant.
AND  Op Art Earings   in strange shapes and gaudy colours, shorter skirts, and flattie shoes. Â
The First Disco was at the Summit Club, Marrakech,  (around 1966) with Go-Go dancers Dixie,  Felicity Fouché, and  Christine all dancing away in the micro-est of Mini-Skirts.  Johnny Martin (previously known as Martin Raff) was the owner, and I heard he also owned a club called 007.
Someone called Neville Peacock was the Marrakech DJ and there were psychdelic and ultra violet lights and if you stood under the latter, all your âklein-goedâ shone like a beacon for all to see. Â
And  the 505 also in Hillbrow.  Eddie Eckstein and Paul Ditchfield - The Bats played there on a Sunday ),  and the Diamonds  and  Gene Rockwell (Heart!â) as did the Basemen (Ronnie Cline on Keyboard, Ralph Simon â Singer, Rodney Caines â Bass Guitar, Leon Bilewitz â drummer and Irwin Kalis â Lead Guitar) and Clive Calder,  (Les Markowitz on drums) also played at âClub-a-go-goâ and also they toured around the countryside and played at various venues.
Also Johnny Congos (âSealed with a Kissâ), Â Johnny and the G-Men, Â and Johnny Sharp, Â 4 Jacks and a Jill. Â The Staccatos. Â Did I mention Manfred Mann? (âpretty Flamingoâ)
MORE CLUBS  - TJâs  (town) and The Yellow Submarine (Hillbrow) (owned by Martin HART) and the Boat (Buccleuch) were in the latter part of the sixties  and the Downstairs later called The Purple Marmalade somewhere in Hillbrow.  Another Disco was owned by George McCauley, brother of  Ray, opposite Joubert Park (Club-A-Go-Go),  His Granny worked in the tuckshop and was always so nice to everyone.  The Band there was the âFalling Leavesâ and George was in the Band.  The Electric Circus,  And  Raffles , a very fancy disco/restaurant but that was in the late 70s. Owned by Dave Kerney. (I think).  The Stable in Jan Smuts Avenue. The Out of Town Club
And who remembers the other Bioscopes -  The  Colosseum with the twinkling lights,  Cliff Richard sang there once, and a few girls from Barnato Park were expelled for bunking school and going to his concerts.   His Majestys,  Monte Carlo (French Movies),  The  Empire,  20th Cen. Fox - Pritchard Street,  Cinerama (Claim and Noord)  In those days there was an interval after the News and the Cartoons, and Usherettes would be standing at each exit with a tray with all the Munchies and Chocolates, cold-drinks, etc. The  Apollo  in Doornfontein.  Iâve already mentioned the Yeoville Bioscopes earlier on. Who remembers the âMidnight Showsâ  the Astra and the Victory in Orange Grove, The Rex in Greenside. The Plaza, the Bijou in town and some flea-bitten run down CafĂ© Bio which no decent self-respecting girl would touch with a barge-pole, but I canât remember it.  A lot of the Yale College boys went there. But not the girls!!!!
People smoked in the bioscopes (âscopesâ) then and when you looked up, you saw it all swirling around in smoke from the projector. Â Nice and healthy!! Â but nobody ever noticed it. Â It was just a part of life in the sixties.
REMEMBER WHEN âŠâŠâŠ.  we went to Bioscope on a Saturday night, dressed up in your A-line dress, or a Box- Pleated skirt, or tiny houndâs-tooth straight skirt in black/white and your black patent high-heeled shoes, with a Black Patent leather bag to match, and your gloves (which you carried in your hand).  And later you wore your Dress with the shorter hemline, Mini-Skirts, and  your âA-line evening coatâ (Jackie Kennedy), just on the knee,  and your flattie shoes, the hair teased up to the high heavens and lacquered so heavily that if it rained, you looked like glue. (Boys hated teased and lacquered hair)
And the boys wore jarmins and Elvis Presley hair-styles with thin ties made of nylon or similar in a machine-crochet style.   (Later when the Beatles came in, boysâ hairstyles changed forever, and no boy would be seen dead with Brylcream or Vitalis plastered on his head).  Boys would never  previously been seen in pastel colours, but the Beatles changed all those dark shirts for pink, mauve and lemon, with a pin collar near the tie.Â
Boys would buy you a 75c box of Black Magic chocolate at Interval.  If you put it into your black patent leather handbag and never offered him one, then your name was mud, and girls judged boys by whether they opened the car door for you âŠ. or not!
AND SOME OF THE MOVIE STARS âŠ.,  Natalie Wood,   Kathryn Hepburn,  Rock Hudson,  Doris Day,  Steve McQueen,  Sohia Loren,   Alain Delon (the heart-throb of the 60âs) (who remembers him in âPurple noonâ) Gina Lollobridgida,  Raquel Welsh,   Bridgitte Bardot,  Ursula Andress,  Warren Beatty,  Jack Nicholson (One Flew over the Cuckooâs Nest),  Shirley McLaine,   Julie Christie,   Michael Caine,  Elizabeth Taylor,  Richard Burton,   Paul Newman,   Sal Mineo,   Suzanne Pleshette,  Richard Burton,   Sean Connery,   Omar Sharif,   Charlton Heston,  Gregory Peck (to die for?) James Dean
POPULAR MOVIES.   West side story,  King Kong,  Gone with the Wind,  Exodus,  Dr. No,  *From Russia with Love,  * (Remember in that movie, the Russian woman (was her name someone KREBBS?) who had a knife come out of her boot and it shot straight into poor Sean Conneryâs shin bone. EINA!   Just thinking about it, hurts me)  Bridge on the River Kwai,   Dr. Zhivago,   Goldfinger,  (it had a great theme song in it  by I think Shirley Bassey) Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,  Annie Get your Gun,   Dingaka.
And the DRIVE INs   Old Pta Road -  Jhb Drive in,  The 5-Star (Eloff St.Ext), The Velskoen  (If a girl was seen at the drive in with a boy, she got a âbad nameâ and the same for the CafĂ© Bioâs.  It was just not for a nice Jewish girl!!
REMEMBER WHEN âŠ.. there was NO Bioscope on Sunday nights
THEATRES.  Alhambra (Doornfontein) ,  Brian Brooke (Braamfontein),   Market Theatre ( Newtown),   Alexander theater ,   Jacques Brel,   Apollo (Doornfontein).
Remember the Adverts for all the Cigarettes,  Players,  Craven "A", Dunhill (remember the maroon Rolls Royce?)  Benson & Hedges (Gold) ,  Lexington (Thatâs the one!),  Gunston (remember him on a raft, all macho, manly, unshaven and rough and ready tumbling through impossible rivers?)  Horseshoe Tobacco,   Gold Dollar,   Texan, (which the boys would hold between their thumb and middle finger)  Lucky Strike,  Gauloise and Peter Stuyvesant (for the fun lovers, remember the wonderful places they went to and the great clothes they wore, swimming in glorious lagoons, skiing down snow-capped mountains, all the beautiful people, all  having wonderful fun?)  I never smoked,(well, I have to say that, in case my family read this article, ha ha) but after I watched the Peter Stuyvesant adverts, I really felt like buying a packet , so that I too, could go to all those magical places, and Iâd look glamerous too,  HA HA  - (the power of advertising!) (A Bittereh Gelechter!!)
But it just looked so âinâ to see people smoking, and girls would hold the cigarettes at the tips of their fingers, and waved their hands for effect as they spoke, shaking their fringes out of their eyes.  People who didnât smoke, were âsquaresâ. Â
I remember Celeste GREENBLATT, taught me how to apply black pencil inside my eyelids, and âbaseâ onto my face and to wear white lipstick and I taught Sandra STEIN (later Ezra) to dye her hair black, and the blacker the better, (her  Mother had a FIT)  - Golda (nĂ©e Kaufman)  (Oâh) whom I saw yearly in LA and she never failed to remind me !Â
FLORA and FAUNA in South Africa. Â I remember once being enthralled by the most magnificent yellow creeper we had growing on the fence in Becker Street. Â I took photos of it, and sent it to my friends in Dublin to show the exotic flora and fauna is this beautiful sunny South Africa, until Michael GOLDING next door, laughed his head off and said âbut thatâs only Canary Creeper, itâs not much better than a common garden weedâ!! Â Â African Violets, Â Jasmin, Golden Shower, Â Begonia Sherera, Â Bougainvillea, Â Â Pointsettia, Â Birds of Paradise, Â Cycads?. Maybe they do grow overseas too.
PARTIES  in  Observatory,  Cyrildene and  Dewetshof.  We rock ân rolled to Elvis Presleyâs  âJail house rockâ & âDonât step on my blue suede shoesâ, âRock around the Clockâ  in our flared skirts with stiff petticoats underneath, the more the better, and huge belts around our waists, and we wore flat shoes (75c at Maramâs chemist, and 95c for the leopard skin ones).  And later we twisted with Chubby Checker (Letâs Twist again, like we did last summer )  We also did a dance called the Shake â anyone remember the song âIâll do the Shake, the hippy- hippy shakeâ and also a dance called the Madison.
The Bez Valley Ouâs, on a Sat night Jol, and the Lebs  would sometimes gatecrash. Usually a Scuffle and the girlâs father would have to ask them to leave.  Sometimes, in stubborn cases the police would have to be called in to skop them all out.  And then the party continued on,   Little Richard,  Cliff Richard,  -  sometimes a few of the kids would have a bit of âdaggaâ, (a zol), on the stoep or in the back garden when they thought nobody was looking, and the only way anyone kopped on was because they would come back to the party with a manic laugh, and red eyes. (and of course the smell, but if you admitted to knowing the smell, then it meant you were a dagga smoker yourself!)   Trini Lopez. âIf I had a hammerâ
SOCIALS at  Oxford Shul,  The Vrede Hall,   Yeoville Recreation Center,   Temple Shalom,  and Bands like âDinkie and the Deansâ - Jake (Gerald) Fox  (Zâl) (rhythm Guitar),  Barry Sacks (Lead Guitar),  Spencer Hodgson (Bass guitar)  and Errol Sack on the drums, would play, they also played at the Club 505 in âthe Browâ.  Peter Lotus well known Jhb Disc Jockey,  I think he sang as well.  Lots of singers used to go to Margoâs on a Sunday Afternoon, and the crowd would all hot-foot it out there after them to hear music. I think it was Bapsfontein, or near there).   There was little else to do on a Sunday, so many places were closed.  Just remembered another band, Dave Levine and the Swinging Angels.  Les Gutfreund was one of the band and  made a name for himself as Les Goode. âDickie Loader and the Blue Jeansâ  Gene Rockwell â Heart.
NIGHT CLUBS and Bands.  Bennie Michaels,   Archie Silansky and his daughter Carole Sands   The Coconut Grove  at the Orange Grove Hotel,   Dan Hill (Ichilchik),   The Colony at the Hyde Park Hotel,   Sardiâs,   The  Mediteranean (I Cinque di Roma),  Diamond Horseshoe,  The Greek Taverna,   Ciroâs (Kruis Street)
STORES.  John Orrs,   The Belfast,   Greatermans,   ABC Shoes, Dodoâs,  Barnes Shoes,  Ackermans,   Ansteys later Garlics,    Katz & Lourie,   Mr. Man,    Man about Town,   Stuttafords,    Woolworths,   Deans Mansâ shop,   Skipper Bar,    O.K Bazaars,   Cuthberts,   Markhams,    Millews,    K. Marks ( curtains),   Juta's,   Bothner & Polliack (records,  Henri Lidji Gallery,   Derbers Furs,   FDF (Fruit & Dried Fruits)  VanitĂ© (Ladies clothes)   Bradlows,    Geen & Richards,   Shepherd & Barker (Furniture),   CAN,   Jaffs (Fabrics),  Mosenthals,   Dicks (Sweets) - Rissik Street, and later on  Morkels, your two year guarantee store!  Putzys.   McCullogh & Bothwell (School Uniforms).
REMEMBER WHEN we would get all dressed up to go to town, to have tea at Ansteys sitting alongside Ladies in beautiful outfits, white gloves, smart, elegant, men in suits, with white shirts and ties
MUSIC  Soul music was popular in the 60s,  Aretha Franklin,  Jimi Hendrix,   Carla Thomas,   Otis Redding (âsitting on the Dock of the Bayâ),  Percy Sledge (â Midnight Hourâ, and Music from Brasil, SĂ©rgio Mendes,  Herb Alpert and the Tijuana brass.
And of course, Johnny Mathis,  Charles Aznavour,  Simon and Garfunkel, José Feliciano
And âŠ.  REMEMBER WHEN , our Mothers would ring a little bell at suppertime, and the âservantâ (oi, how COULD we have??) would come in with the next course. And when your âboyâ did the garden and the âgirlâ cooked. Â

AND REMEMBER WHEN the only children at a barmitzvah function were the Barmitzvah boy and his siblings, who were allowed to stay up for the night.  The entire Simcha was for adults and the only time you heard the Barmi boy, was when he made his speech.   Robertâs Barmitzvah was a Kiddush at home after Shul, and a âteaâ that evening for a few friends of my Parents.  Many kids had that kind of Barmi.  Who knew then from Theme  Barmitzvahs. Â

The Jhb Station Master, complete with an Afrikaans accent, (guess who) called a Yiddishe guy living somewhere in Killarney, to tell him that his consignment of chickens were on their way over.  You could hear what sounded like a few thousand chickens all clucking their heads off and the poor fellow was protesting, saying that it was the wrong number, it wasnât him, some mistake and besides, he had a small balcony, and he didnât have room for crates of chickens, but The âStation Masterâ kept on saying that he has nowhere for them either, the fellowsâ name and address were on the crates and the chickens were going to be on their way, shortly..  What a âlagâ that was.   Although this article is about the 60s, I canât help but mention my fellow countryman, John Robbie, and John, if you ever get to read this  âGo mbeanna Dia Duitâ  and enjoy LĂĄ na PĂĄdraig.

And Polio â Â two major epidemics in 1947 and 1954/55, when schools were closed, and public swimming pools too, children in iron lungs and leg braces. Â Infantile Paralysis, they called it. (I wasnât here then but I know about it)
Around the late fifties, a movie came out with Danny KAYE and Barbara Bel GEDDES (Miss Ellie in Dallas) , called the âFIVE PENNIESâ. Story of Red Nichols, and his young daughter (played by both Susan Gordon and Tuesday Weld) Â who contracted polio. Â .
