#beomseok was my favorite from the start... it hurt so bad

something I keep thinking about beomseok is how his entire life has revolved around violence - and taught him to handle things with violence. he got beaten up at school on a daily basis, he was adopted into a family where his father spanks him everytime he does something he doesn't like. it's not said how old he was when he was adopted or if he remembers anything from the orphanage, but if he does there's probably not many friendly memories either. even when he befriends sieun and sooho, it it's through violence and school fights. they fight together and so they bond.

so when something happens and a conflict appears in his relationship with sooho... his answer can't not be violence-related. that's all he's ever learned. he may not get into physical fights himself, but he now has those guys pouring shit into his ears all day and he might as well just pay someone to do it. it's still a terrible thing to do and he doesn't deserve to be called a friend. i don't think he and sooho could ever go back to what they were before after beomseok paid someone to beat sooho up. but it's a way to see where this idea came from. because it's not normal. and i really think of it as amazing how the writers make it so we can hate beomseok with out whole hearts but can't stop seeing the human in him.
