"La Peseta Vuelve", by Wash Comics and Fundación Pasqual Maragall

The famous Madrid comic shop, in support of the Foundation, launched an initiative to help them raise pesetas, the Spanish currency that was replaced by the Euro almost 20 years ago.

After paying tribute to the true superheroes who, throughout 2020, have been on the streets making this world a better place, Wash Cómics (Spain) joins the campaign of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, a foundation that seeks to defeat Alzheimer's , in their collection of pesetas before June 30, 2021, when the Bank of Spain will stop accepting them and exchange them for euros.

The comic book store decides to launch an initiative that appeals to nostalgia with the aim of generating amplification and obtaining as many coins as possible, putting its catalog of classics on sale in pesetas. A great selection of comics from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

“The peseta is not a simple coin out of circulation. It symbolizes the best memories of our childhood. From spending hours and hours on the table football and arcades to all those times we went to the store for a comic. She has been a true companion of adventures and we don't want her to just get lost like that. We believe that she deserves a tribute as the heroine she has been, and when we found out that the Pasqual Maragall Foundation was raising them to defeat Alzheimer's, we felt that we could put our best into the cause ”, commented Ignacio Marugan, owner of the shop.

This January 3, 2021, an event will be held in the city of Madrid where the comics will be sold for pesetas and then, from January 4 to May 30, Wash Cómics will receive the pesetas in different collection points.

A spot that tells about the initiative is already circulating on the brand's digital channels from now on and has the support of several influencers. In addition, the hashtag #LaPesetaVuelve was created to support the action.

This tribute was possible thanks to the friends of Fish Film with David de la Flor & Zaza. Diego Basualdo as star producer, Víctor Bensusi and his photographic eye, Metropolitana de Muntatges, Pickle Music with his musical art and the minds of Alex Maggi, Manolo Catalán Berce and Álvaro Marugán (Creative Director of WASH) to shape the farewell of his dear companion of adventures.
