AAMRA TOK Tok is a kind of dessert in bengali cuisine, served after meal. Amra, which is also known as Hog Plum or Ambarella, is crispy and juicy fruit which is eaten raw, cooked and pickled too. I love to have tok but I generally prepare with jaggery than sugar. Tok after meal helps in digestion and if fruits like these are added it adds extra nutrition. Enjoy seasonal fruit tok after meal and also let me know about your favourite after-meal desserts. 😋 . . Recipe: ¤ Add 1tsp of oil in a pan. ¤ When oil gets heated up add 1 dried chilli and 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds. ¤ When the mustard seeds starts splattering add amra fruits, a pinch of salt and turmeric powder. ¤ Mix well. ¤ Add 2 tbsp jaggery (you can add according to your sweetness desire) and a bit of water. Mix well but don't burn. ¤ Immediately after a few second of mixture add 1 cup water and let boil. ¤ When water reduce to half cup, taste the soup with a spoon. If your desired taste is reached then switch of the gas and let it cool down in room temperature. ¤ Have it after your meal.
