so why did the dark knights feel comfortable in ruining hobyrim's life and tricking ozma? particularly oz? how did he benefit from that?
The Dark Knights mostly do not like one another and entertain very different dynamics among themselves that vary between liking each other to actively plotting each other's downfall. They make want to make a chart of the interpersonal drama going on between them because they are creating so many problems for one another on purpose and I love that about them. The way they're written as fearsome yet imperfect antagonists is just so good.
We don't have a clear timeline of the events that happened in Lodis before the game started but it's clear Hobyrim's trial took place before the current order of Dark Knights as we know them was formed and not all current members were a part of it then. Ultimately most of them don't know Hobyrim and don't know how dirty he was done nor do they care to find out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you face Volaq during Ozma's recruitment stage, the two speak as if they've never met before. And I have a feeling Volaq must have joined the order before Martym, Barbas or Andoras did.
Barbas and Martym's understanding of the situation seems limited as well and they don't seem bothered to shine some truth on it so I get the feeling they never met Hobyrim either. They never interact with him at any point either but that doesn't necessarily mean much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(featuring Martym's most eloquent quotes)
We don't know Andoras' input on the whole matter nor if he ever met Hobyrim (likely not) but I assume he's silently playing 5d chess seeing this drama unfold in order to figure out if he can exploit it to get back at the Dark Knights, House Moh Glacius, and Lodis as a whole. He pretty much hates Ozma anyway though I don't imagine he cares much for Balxephon either.
As for Oz, his love for Ozma is peculiar to say the least and he's not past hurting her. There is a great complicity between Balxephon and him and it's safe to assume he isn't bothered by this for two reasons: he agrees with Lanselot and Balxephon's design for Lodis and doesn't take issue with the controversial way they might go about it (Oz's moral compass is completely broken anyway) as he most likely favors diminishing the influence of the senate and boosting Loslorien's, and on a more personal level, he doesn't mind hurting Ozma a little bit. In fact, he seems to resent her a little for her genuine affection toward Hobyrim. There is an air of bitterness toward the both of them when he speaks about how much Ozma fought to have Hobyrim tried as innocent and how he threw all that away regardless of her effort.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TBH the only Dark Knight who has cause to side with Ozma is Volaq. He claims to be loyal to Lodis above all else. Not Lanselot, but Lodis specifically. He too is being deceived yet he completely brushes over it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ozma tries to discuss the matter with him twice and both times he shuts her down completely.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(and when she presses him further he threatends to have her brought back in chains, he's mastered the art of debating clearly)
As most matters relating to Volaq, he remains ambiguous and as neutral as possible. Choosing a moral stance and sticking with it isn't exactly his forte.

"Honestly it reminds me a lot of Law and Chaos in SMT based on that, though without the obvious other things in SMT(like Law’s Unity built on hatred and extermination of the Other/Unworthy, etc.)"
I don't think that's quite the case.
The Knights from Lodis are also Law Aligned, and they do horrible stuff. Why? So that they can turn Valeria into a vassal state, including using a puppet ruler. In the neutral ending, their country invades. But the thing is, Lodis worships a singular god and persecute those who worship other gods. They can be an example of how you can take unity too far, completely abandoning morality as a result. In terms of this game, Lodis is Lawful Evil.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the various factions in Valeria are more an example of chaos, being focused on not being ruled by the other ethnic groups or seeking revenge for past wrongs. However, that leads to Galgistan attempting to genocide the Walister, believing in their own righteousness as well as superiority (due to making up 70% of the population of Valeria). They can be an example of how fighting for your beliefs can go too far, while Ronway can represent how easy it is to go from "fighting for what you believe is right" to fighting for your own benefit. Either way, unity is lost.
Law, Chaos or Neutral all bring you to chapter 4. The route taken determines who you have and what you've done, but how you end things is what matters. The Law ending, where Catiua becomes Queen, is the best as it unites the people and ensures Valeria suronlvives for a thousand years before uniting with another country. The Chaos ending only leads to more chaos, with Denam assassinated after pretending to be the long lost heir. And neutral, which branches off the events that lock you out of the Law ending, still ends with Valeria invaded by Lodis with no chance of victory (so… unity happens just not in a good way).
Law doesn't have to be a bad thing, depending on what that Law actually means. But it still doesn't erase the blood you might have on your hands and the people who you've wronged, but it's better to acknowledge that than act high and mighty because of your ideals.

Cape-Watch Monthly Bulletin- December 2022
Happy Holidays, y’all! I’m your host with the most, Christina Cabello, welcoming you to the final Cape-Watch Monthly Bulletin of the year! The holiday season has often proved quite the challenging time for our favourite heroes, and this year has proved no different! Read more below for some of December’s biggest stories!
‘Tis the Season to Be Generous
If you ask me, there’s no better way to start off this Bulletin than to talk out all of the wonderful acts of charity that our friendly costumed adventurers get up to at this time of year! Among the largest drives to raise funds for America’s homeless and less fortunate come from, of course, the Guardians of the Globe, who set up their Annual Christmas Charity Drive, attracting exorbitant donations from many different sources in both the public and private sectors, all to benefit some of the most deprived areas of America. First held in Christmas of 1951, the drive was instituted at the behest of the original members, who felt that the duties of any hero at their level of influence had duties that extended far beyond simply responding to disasters and into uplifting the most desperate in society.
Another similar fundraising event is the annual Capes Incorporated Christmas Spectacular, a large-scale charity event held at the renowned 583 Park Avenue events centre and featuring a wide array of celebrity performances and appearances by some of the most rich and powerful people on the Eastern Seaboard. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Museum of American Superheroes in the city’s Manhattan borough, as well as the upkeep of nearby homeless shelters in surrounding cities such as Yonkers, Newark, Lodi and Jersey City. This year’s event saw the appearances of many members of Capes Inc. such as Bolt, Commander Capitalism, Kid Thor and more, but also received a surprising visit from the Californian heroes Magic Man and Multi-Paul, who didn’t give their reasons for attending.
Finally, I’d be remiss not to mention our newspaper’s very own event, the Cape-Watch Winter Charity Drive, held this year in the famous Discovery Park of the paper’s home, Seattle. Members of the public and high society alike can come along and show their support for the city’s less fortunate, as well as engage with some of the many local musicians and artisans that turned up in support!
Holidays for Everyone (and that means EVERYONE)
Now, while the holiday season is mostly well known for Christmas, it would be unfair of me to not include all of the other cultural and religious festivals celebrated by our favourite caped crusaders this year. Our first example is the pagan festival of Yuletide, which began on December 21st and isn’t due to end until tomorrow on January 1st. The festival, largely speculated to be something that was adopted by Christianity, celebrates a few different things depending on the kind of paganism that the practitioner belongs to: for some, it’s tied to the celebration of a particular god or goddess, while for others it instead concerns the winter solstice, the day of the year with the least amount of sunlight, which can in itself represent other things. If this sounds confusing or convoluted, trust that you can easily research some online resources with more comprehensive explanations of the many pagan traditions that surround the festival. One hero who made their celebration of Yule public this year was the Irish heroine Clíodhna, who tweeted a picture of herself and a few others weaving a traditional evergreen wreath, as well as hanging up mistletoe, under which she shared an adorable kiss with her girlfriend and fellow heroine Áine.
Another celebration that may seem more familiar to you is the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah (or Chanukah if you prefer). This celebration commemorates the victory of Judah Maccabee over the Seleucids in 139 BCE. It lasts for eight days (from the 18th to the 26th of this year) and usually involves the playing of games like dreidel and the eating of oil-based foods like latkes and sufganiyot, as well as the lighting of the nine candles of the menorah. One example of a hero with close ties to the holiday is none other than the French super Quark Crusher, who tweeted his participation with a group of other Jewish heroes in the midst of his trying out for a position on the superhero team Breakthrough.
Our final example of a non-mainstream celebration this holiday season is the Japanese festival of Shogatsu, which runs from December 31st to January 2nd and commemorates the first day of the Tenpo Calendar. Typical festival activities include praying at local temples for safety and good fortune in the coming year in a tradition called hatsumode, the exchanging of money packets called otoshidama, the sending of special postcards called nenga and more. One such example of superheroes engaging in the festivities came from the twins heroes Raijin and Fujin, who took to Twitter to show off the many photos they had captured during the festival in their home city of Osaka.
Important Updates
Our next story comes straight from the Pentagon, where after a month of tryouts and many eliminations of many different heroes, the selection process for the new team Breakthrough enters its final stage. Among the remaining contestants are several favourites, including the Nigerian heroine Omi and the French titan Quark Crusher. However, there are also a few surprising decisions by team leader Frontline, the biggest of which concerning the controversial Bolivian vigilante known only as Vaquera. Despite calls for her to be ousted from the selection process entirely over a dubious track record, the blind archer has instead ben allowed to advance to the finals, and now stands with a serious chance of earning one of the coveted five slots on the line-up of Breakthrough. When asked about his decision, Frontline claimed that he had allowed her to participate on the basis of her conduct since her application to the selection process, which he described as ‘unbefitting of a supposed murderer’ and more akin ‘someone who simply wants to have a fresh start in a less traumatic environment’. Whether the reasons given are factual or not, her performance has certainly turned heads: despite relying on a modified bow and trick arrows in lieu of any major powers, Vaquera has fought and defeated some of South America’s greatest superheroes, from Devastador of Argentina to Uruguay’s Mateo Montez, now only being one of three Latin Americans who qualified for the finals.
Another surprise is in a last-minute arrival among the Asian finalists, none other than the famous super-singer Trailblazer of Hot Stuff fame. When asked about his sudden application, Trailblazer stated that ‘creative differences between members resulted in the breakdown of the group’ and that the breakdown had simply not been publicly announced yet. He also stated that ‘this might be a good chance to flex the old crimefighting muscles. At worst, I won’t be so out of practice’. Despite apparently being out of practice, the flaming speedster still proved skilled enough to beat many of his fellow heroes, and now stands as one of the only two Asian finalists alongside the Filipino hero Animal Alma.
And to top off the list of shockers, we have the American superhero Burly, who was exposed to be cheating and ousted from the North American selection process. The gargantuan hero, who first debuted as a member of Fight Force, was apparently caught offering bribes to other contestants in return for their withdrawal from the process, which would have unfairly boosted his chances of success and damaged the integrity of the selection process had it not been discovered. While Burly himself declined to comment. the event organiser and team leader Frontline called the cheating ‘an insult to the very spirit of fairness, as well as the other contestants’ and recommended that Burly ‘take a very long look in the mirror before he considers ever trying out for any team again’. In spite of his aspirations, it seems that the only things Burly is walking away with are a disgraced reputation and a bruised ego.
A Final Message to the Readers
Now, while I could fill this last slot with some spicy news story or hot gossip about one superhero or another, I’d instead like to take the time to thank the most important element of this little project of mine: you, the readers. When I first pitched the idea of the bulletin to the editor, he called it crazy: ‘nobody gets their news in their email inbox, Christina!’, ‘what do you think this is, Change.org?’, and more stuff like that. But when the subscription figures shot up after the first bulletin all the way back in June, he already had me working on the next one! So I’d like to say thanks to you guys, who signed up and supported and read my emails over these past six months, because none of this would’ve been possible without all of you! This has been your grateful host, Christina Cabello, once again thanking you for all of your contributions and wishing every single one of you a Happy New Year! We’ve got some exciting things lined up for the January 2023 Bulletin, and I’ve got a feeling you’re really gonna like it! So, stay safe, stay hydrated, and tune in next year for more of the biggest superhero stories around!

Indian History
The heading might seem like a monologue to most people but Indian history is one of the topics close to my heart and it makes me hold my head high to belong to a country with such magnificent heritage. Despite being a student of Science, I’ve always felt a connection with the subject which always motivates me to peruse books and get an even bigger glimpse into the world of kings and queens, of artists and magicians, a time when people lived without the technology which has become an imminent part of the modern world today, a time when music had the power to bring rain, a time when bullock carts were the only transport available to man and a time when splendour reigned our country, the time when India was called ‘The Golden Bird’. The real reason why I'm writing this is because I feel that history is highly underrated and is a victim of generations of hatred, with literally every student crying tears of frustration as they try to memorize the names and dates on the last day of the exams, cramming everything into their minds and just writing it all out on the exam sheet, never to think of it again. But the fact remains that history is not just mugging up books as we picture when we hear the word- it’s way more than that. History is not just a subject, it's a reminder of all the great deeds that our ancestors have done, of where our roots come from and a constant lesson to us that no matter how tough things seem, there's always a solution- you just have to look for it. It all started with the Rigveda, the oldest, most pure age of ancient history when women were given an equal status to men, their activities were not constantly frowned upon and when God was worshipped with actual devotedness and not just for our selfish benefits as it is today. Following it, was the Yajurveda, then the Samaveda and finally the Atharvaveda. As the civilisations came to pass, we find that the stature of women in society continued to deteriorate before finally reducing this irreplaceable half of the society as slaves of their counterparts. Harappan and Indus Valley Civilizations have left a lasting mark on our country as we find out how intelligent and broad minded the people of those times were- the ruins a symbol of a fallen legacy. The Mauryan Empire was next up as it started the trend of conquering kingdoms and having kings and queens with Chandragupta Maurya as the founder, one of the greatest rulers India has known. The Magadha dynasty brought with it the ideas of provinces and states, of efficient management and luxurious royal lifestyle, making it one of the most remembered dynasties that we have had. The South saw its own share of royal ages as it was ruled by the Cholas, the Cheras and the Pandyas. The Gupta empire came into being soon after, one of the most ancient and prosperous ages of the country's empires. Delhi soon became a vital city of attraction for conquerers all over the world as the Delhi Sultanate was founded by Qutubuddin Aibak beginning with the Slave Dynasty, then the Khilji Dynasty, Tughlaq, Sayyid and Lodi dynasties ending only when Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodi and took on the throne of Delhi. The ever powerful Mughals then ruled Indian for many years, with Babur followed by Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb. The Mughal empire deteriorated after Aurangzeb and their mighty legacy ended with the death of Bahadur Shah Zafar at the hands of the British. The British ruled us for 150 years or so which saw some of the most challenging and revolting events in Indian history including the Partition of India, the formation of the Indian National Congress, the revolt of 1857 and expulsion of the British from India in 1947. From then onwards, India has been her own master and has flourished through hurdles and disappointments. It is my pride to have had a chance to read about our beautiful and ever inspiring culture and even more to be able to bring it out in words for you all. Its not just something to be proud of, it belongs to me and to every Indian who has the honour of being born on this soil.

Alternative Cancer Treatment Retreats: A Holistic Approach to Healing
What Are Alternative Cancer Treatment Retreats?
Alternative cancer treatment retreats are specialized centers that offer non-conventional therapies aimed at supporting cancer patients in their healing journey. These retreats typically focus on integrative care that includes natural and holistic therapies. The primary goal is to create an environment conducive to healing while reducing the stress and emotional burden often associated with conventional cancer treatments.
Holistic Therapies and Practices
One of the defining features of these retreats is the wide range of holistic therapies they provide. From nutritional guidance and detox programs to acupuncture and herbal medicine, these centers offer a diverse array of alternative treatments. Alternative Cancer Treatment Retreats Some popular therapies include:
Nutritional Therapy: A major focus at these retreats is diet. Experts develop personalized meal plans rich in organic, plant-based foods believed to support the immune system and combat cancer cells.
Detoxification Programs: Detox methods, such as juice fasting and colon cleansing, are often used to eliminate toxins that may contribute to cancer development.
Mindfulness and Meditation: Stress management is crucial in the healing process. Guided meditation, yoga, and breathing exercises are common practices that help patients maintain a positive mindset.
Energy Healing: Therapies like Reiki and sound healing are also offered to balance the body's energy and promote overall well-being.
Emotional and Psychological Support
Cancer affects more than just the body; it takes a toll on the mind and emotions. Many alternative cancer treatment retreats offer counseling, group therapy, and spiritual guidance. These services help patients deal with the anxiety, depression, and fear that often accompany a cancer diagnosis. Some retreats even offer family counseling, ensuring that loved ones are included in the healing process.
Benefits of Attending an Alternative Cancer Treatment Retreat
Personalized Care: Unlike conventional hospitals, alternative retreats typically offer personalized care plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs. This individualized attention can result in better overall outcomes and a more pleasant experience.
Healing Environment: The serene and often secluded locations of these retreats create a peaceful environment far removed from the clinical setting of traditional treatment centers. The emphasis on nature, tranquility, and a supportive community enhances the healing process.
Focus on Prevention and Wellness: Many retreats not only aim to treat cancer but also focus on prevention and long-term health. Dr. Thomas Lodi Through education on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle changes, patients are empowered to make choices that support their well-being even after the retreat ends.
Choosing the Right Retreat
When selecting an alternative cancer treatment retreat, it’s essential to research the therapies offered and the qualifications of the practitioners. Look for retreats with positive testimonials and a track record of success. Also, consider whether the retreat offers a comprehensive program that aligns with your beliefs and treatment goals.

Emergency Heating Solutions for Winter Events: The Benefits of Temporary Heater Rentals in Rutherford and Lodi, NJ
Planning a winter event in Rutherford, NJ, comes with its unique challenges, primarily centered around keeping the guests warm and comfortable. The frigid temperatures can deter even the most enthusiastic attendees, but a simple solution can transform the event into a cozy and inviting experience: temporary heater rentals. Following are the top reasons why choosing temporary heater rental in Rutherford and Lodi, NJ, for a winter event is a wise decision.   Ensuring Guest Comfort   One of the foremost reasons to opt for temporary heater rentals is to ensure the comfort of the guests. Winter events, whether weddings, corporate gatherings, or social celebrations, can be adversely affected by the cold. Uncomfortable guests are less likely to enjoy the event and may even leave early. Temporary heaters provide consistent warmth, ensuring everyone remains comfortable and can fully enjoy the occasion.   Flexibility and Versatility   Temporary heaters come in various sizes and types, making them versatile enough to suit different event setups. Whether one is hosting an outdoor event, utilizing a tent, or arranging an indoor venue that lacks adequate heating, there is a temporary heater to meet one’s needs. From portable propane heaters to large electric or diesel-powered units, these rentals can be strategically placed to provide optimal warmth coverage.   Cost-Effective Solution   Investing in permanent heating solutions for a one-time event can be expensive and impractical. Temporary heater rentals in Rutherford and Lodi, NJ offer a cost-effective alternative, allowing the host to pay only for what they need when they need it. This is particularly beneficial for event planners and businesses within a budget, as it eliminates the need for significant capital expenditure.   Quick and Easy Setup   Temporary heater rentals are designed for quick and easy setup, ensuring minimal disruption to the event planning process. Professional rental companies typically offer delivery, setup, and takedown services, allowing the host or the event manager to focus on other aspects of the event. This convenience means one can have the heating solutions in place with minimal hassle.   Safety Considerations   Reputable rental companies prioritize safety, providing equipment that meets all relevant safety standards. Temporary heaters are equipped with automatic shut-off mechanisms and temperature controls to prevent overheating and reduce the risk of accidents. Additionally, rental companies often offer guidance on the safe operation and placement of heaters, ensuring a safe environment for all attendees.   Environmental Control   Temporary heaters not only provide warmth but also help in controlling the overall environment of the event. They can help reduce dampness and condensation, creating a more pleasant atmosphere. This is particularly important for events in tents or semi-enclosed spaces where moisture can accumulate.   Enhanced Event Experience   A warm and comfortable environment can significantly enhance the event's overall experience. Guests are more likely to stay longer, engage more fully, and have positive memories of the occasion. This is especially important for events such as weddings or corporate gatherings where guest satisfaction is paramount.   Weather Flexibility   New Jersey winters can be unpredictable, with sudden temperature drops or unexpected snowfalls. Temporary heater rentals provide a flexible solution that can be adapted to changing weather conditions. Whether adding more heaters at the last minute or adjusting their placement, rental solutions offer the adaptability required to ensure the event runs smoothly regardless of the weather.   By opting for professional heater rental services, event organizers or the party host can focus on delivering a memorable and enjoyable event while leaving the heating logistics to the experts. With these advantages, any winter event will surely be a warm success.

i really don't understand why all of the dark knights were fine with balxephon fucking over his brother and deceiving ozma tbh
To be fair, for the longest time most of them didn't know but you can split the Dark Knights into 3 categories when it comes to this oreal: those who were in on it, those who learnt of it afterward and regard it as some interpersonal drama, and Volaq.
Hobyrim and Balxephon were spies on their father's account, to keep watch over Lanselot and Loslorien's growing power. While Balxephon came to agree with Lanselot and swapped sides, Hobyrim was never truly a Dark Knight, just pretending to be one. Vogras' assassination and Hobyrim taking the blame for it benefitted the Dark Knights. So in their eyes, that was a necessary crime.
Lanselot knows this and either agreed with Balxephon's doing or actively encouraged him.
Oz knew as well and he doesn't strike me as one to particularly take a stand against corruption. You'd be inclined to imagine he'd at least stand up for Ozma and his House but he shows some bizarre resentment and animosity toward her in regard to her affection for Hobyrim and during Lawful route and CODA, he shows an unsettling willingness to cause her pain.
Now you have those who learnt after the fact but couldn't be bothered to side with Ozma:
Martym and Barbas seem to think this is petty drama and they can't stand Ozma anyway.
Andoras must have greatly enjoyed the discord among the Dark Knights. Any infighting is good for him. (he also can't stand Ozma but I don't imagine he cares much for Balxephon either)
So that leaves us with the Volaq case:
Honestly Volaq should be the Dark Knight who sides with Ozma against Balxephon. The text hints that he's a mentor to both Oz and Ozma (that's how I read "I lost Oz, I'll not lose you as well." at least). And he's a fervent patriot who seems to breath and live only for the sake of Lodis. He does beg Ozma not to desert and to listen to reason. He even promises her Lanselot will not let Balxephon go unpunished so you could imagine he doesn't agree with him. I know Volaq often appears clueless but I'm convinced he just does all he can to maintain some presumable innocence and he wouldn't outwardly back Balxephon's corrupt tactics but he certaintly wouldn't risk himself against him either (I mean... He has to keep all his options in case one side prevails). As a result his inner thoughts and judgements completely elude us. I wouldn't be surprised to learn he thought Balxephon did the right thing for Loslorien or Lodis but just couldn't be caught having a genuine opinion. He's simply the biggest whited sepulcher.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California Gov. Gavin Newsom's administration said Thursday it will now cost more than $20 billion to build a giant tunnel aimed at catching more water when it rains and storing it to better prepare for longer droughts caused by climate change.
State regulators have been trying to build some version of a water tunnel system for decades. The latest form championed by the Democratic governor is a single giant tunnel, down from two tunnels proposed by his predecessor, Jerry Brown. Newsom's administration says the state can capture more water from the Sacramento River during major storms and send it south for storage.
The last cost estimate, which came in 2020, put the price tag for a single tunnel project at $16 billion. The new analysis says the tunnel will cost $20.1 billion, an increase they attribute almost entirely to inflation, which soared after the pandemic.
The project would be paid for by 29 local public water agencies, who get their money from customers.
The analysis, conducted by the Berkeley Research Group but paid for by the state, said the tunnel would yield $38 billion in benefits, mostly because of an increased water supply that would be better protected from natural disasters like earthquakes.
“The benefits clearly justify the costs,” said David Sunding, emeritus professor at the University of California, Berkeley who led the analysis.
Despite that rosy outlook, the tunnel remains one of the most controversial projects in recent memory. Environmental groups say its construction would have devastating impacts on the already vanishing ecosystem of the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, the largest estuary on the West Coast that is home to endangered species of salmon and other fish.
The analysis released Thursday notes the environmental impacts include lost agricultural land, reduced water quality in the Delta, and impacts on air quality, transportation and noise.
“Instead of foisting the costs of this boondoggle project onto Californians, the state should invest in sustainable water solutions that promise to restore the Delta ecosystem, not destroy it," said Barbara Barrigan-Parilla, executive director of the environmental advocacy group Restore the Delta.
State officials note the project now includes $200 million for grants to fund local projects in areas impacted by construction.
Beyond environmental concerns, the project has become a political landmine throughout the Central Valley's farming communities, where it is seen as yet another attempt by Southern California to steal their water. While most of California's population lives in the southern part of the state, most of the state's water comes from the north. In the state Legislature, lawmakers have blocked any effor t to benefit or speed up the tunnel's construction.
"This new analysis acknowledges what we’ve known all along: the Delta Tunnel is meant to benefit Beverly Hills and leave Delta communities out to dry,” said U.S. Rep. Josh Harder, a Democrat whose district includes the Central Valley communities like Stockton, Lodi and Galt. "I’m sick and tired of politicians in Sacramento ignoring our Valley voices and I will do everything in my power to stop them from stealing our water.”
The tunnel would be part of the State Water Project — a complex system of reservoirs, dams and canals that provides water to 27 million people while irrigating 750,000 acres (303,515 hectares) of farmland.
Climate change is threatening that supply. A recent drought saw the three direst years on record, which dropped reservoirs around the state to dangerously low levels and prompted mandatory rationing and even caused some hydroelectric power plants to shut down. State officials predict that by 2070 State Water Project deliveries will decline by 22% because of climate change.
The proposed tunnel would be about 45 miles (72 kilometers) long and 36 feet (11 meters) wide, or large enough to carry more than 161 million gallons of water per hour. State officials say this tunnel would let the state capture more water when the state is hit by “atmospheric rivers” — large storms that can drench the state for weeks during the rainy season.
The analysis released Thursday says the tunnel would increase water deliveries by about 17%, nearly accounting for the anticipated decline because of climate change.
“There is a very real cost to do nothing. It is vastly more efficient and economical to avoid declining supplies," said Karla Nemeth, director of the California Department of Water Resources. “Water shortages, mandatory restrictions, land fallowing and job loss all impact our state and local economies.”

Harnessing the Power of High Dose Vitamin C with Dr. Lodi
High dose vitamin C therapy has emerged as a promising adjunctive treatment in integrative medicine, offering a myriad of health benefits. Dr. Thomas Lodi, a renowned advocate of holistic healing approaches, has extensively researched and utilized high dose vitamin C as part of his comprehensive treatment protocols. In this article, we explore the potential of high dose vitamin C therapy and Dr. Lodi's contributions to advancing its application in holistic healthcare.
Understanding High Dose Vitamin C
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a potent antioxidant that plays a crucial role in immune function, collagen synthesis, and cellular repair. While the recommended daily intake of vitamin C is relatively modest, high dose vitamin C therapy involves administering significantly larger doses intravenously to achieve therapeutic effects. This approach is believed to enhance the body's ability to combat oxidative stress, inflammation, and disease processes.
The Benefits of High Dose Vitamin C
Research indicates that high dose vitamin C therapy may offer a range of health benefits, including immune system support, improved wound healing, and enhanced detoxification. Additionally, high dose vitamin C has been explored as an adjunctive treatment for various conditions, such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and chronic infections. Dr. Lodi has been at the forefront of integrating high dose vitamin C therapy into holistic treatment plans to address these health challenges.
Dr. Lodi's Approach to High Dose Vitamin C
As a pioneer in integrative oncology, Dr. Lodi recognizes the importance of personalized medicine and addressing the underlying causes of illness. He incorporates high dose vitamin C therapy into his treatment protocols to complement other modalities such as nutrition, detoxification, and mind-body medicine. By optimizing the body's natural healing mechanisms, Dr. Lodi aims to empower patients to achieve optimal health and vitality.
Safety Considerations and Administration
While high dose vitamin C is generally well-tolerated, it's essential to undergo treatment under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider. Intravenous administration allows for maximum absorption and bypasses potential gastrointestinal side effects associated with oral supplementation. During treatment, patients may experience a sensation of warmth or flushing, which is typically transient and harmless.
