If I had a nickel for every time a beautifully written enemies to lovers ship was lowkey ruin in its last installment by undoing all of the male characters development and maturity in favor of pointless angst and drama. I would have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice. Right?

for beadick, i would absolutely love to see them in a doctor who au, esp one where bea's the doctor and ben's her companion. they would give off such amy/rory vibes

for ava x dylan, i think seeing them in a high school au would be fun! seeing what they were like as younger teens, and esp how dylan was dealing with their mental health as a teen would be very interesting. plus ava giving dylan a chemistry themed promposal would be adorable.

and then for asher and david, i would love to see them in a to all the boys i've loved before au!! david writing love letters to everyone he's loved before, and asher being on the list

@heylookadagger exactly! And I CRY bc I love him SO MUCH and now post-canon with quitting vlogging he just gets to be Real Ben all the time and finally believes that people can actually love that person 😭😭😭

Something to be said for how much of Ben’s dialogue in the scenes he’s in in the first 10 episodes of NMTD feels incredibly like he’s Performing, in the way that you can sort of tell he has practiced and honed a projection of confidence he doesn’t really feel deep inside. This is a character who is playing a character in his own life, and the flavor and bravado on some of his inflections especially in the mango argument episode Shows that. I didn’t notice that tell before.
