Thanks for the tag @sohkrates! I fear my Work in Progress list is significantly shorter than yours, mostly because my tabletop work is limited to the occasional game/supplement and videos. The rest of the time I'm writing book(s)!

Next video: ??? I spent a lot of energy on Spire and now I'm just searching for an angle. I think it might end up just being about my system-neutral supplement "Finley: A Midwest Fantasy" and how it's something of a goodbye to Indiana for me.

Next game: Not working on any tabletop writing right now!

Book: The pitch for working title Ravenous is "What if countries exploited during America's Cold War coups tried to assassinate Henry Kissinger, and also he was the pope, and also the Church created Kaiju for the US military?" Basically doing a full rewrite because the first draft was not working, but hope to have around 70k of that by November!

Trunked/Maybe Will Return To

Games: I was collaborating with Dani Belonia on a Resistance game last year, and we just never got around to finishing it, but I think a lot of the setting stuff from that was really neat. The hydraheron from Finley actually originated there. Hopefully I can continue to recycle some of those ideas in future work!

Books: I've written about a book and a half that very few people have seen. The first, The Chains Nothing Can Break was my first novel and still is the creative work I'm most proud of. Marathis colonize Britain with steampunk mechas, a satire of both steampunk and adventure stories set in the Raj. Maybe one day we'll find a publisher. The other book, which I never titled, was about paleontologist necromancers who used magic crystals to do archeological digs, selling the bones of dinosaurs to be used in a war against sexy moth aliens. It was GREAT concept with TERRIBLE execution, ended up in some not great narrative territory, so I canned it. Will try to pull some stuff from it in the future, but yeah, sometimes you gotta take the L.

Would Like to Be In Progress

Games: Would still like to work on something with the resistance system, just because I think that's such a fun way to manage damage and consequences in a narrative-first format. But yeah, unfortunately I'm just better at setting/fluff than mechanics! Been writing for 6 years at this point, and only designing games for 2 (not counting D&D homebrewing lol). Anyway, if you're looking for a setting/fluff writer, I love that shit.

Videos: I definitely want to do something with Heart, just because Howitt and Taylor do a great job of building evocative worlds, but it'll be a while yet before I'm ready for another long one. I thought I might tackle Gubat Banwa, but it seems like DragonKid11 has that covered. Plus tactical games are a bit harder for me to get into, but who knows, maybe someday! I also posited the idea of doing a Tabletop 101 series last year, where I took a look at games that were considered foundational to the indie scene as it currently stands and why they were important. I think that might be a cool project, but like, how many more dives into Apocalypse World do we need at this point?

Books/short stories: Just off the top of my head- prophesied chosen one who is Dual Eligible for Medicare and Medicaid comes to slay private health insurance; fantasy retelling of the 2nd Punic War; examination of Lord of the Rings from the Orc/Haradrim pov largely based off of Charles W. Mills The Wretched of Middle Earth

Anyway, I'd love to see what folks like @titanomachyrpg, @goblinmixtape, @cassimothwin /@chasetheghost, and @kidnickgames are working on! No pressure if you don't care for these tagging games!

Train services in Tripura, Mizoram hit for a week now due to flood, landslides

Train services in large parts of Tripura and some parts of Mizoram have been stopped for nearly a week now as the railway tracks were badly damaged due to the recent floods in the two northeastern states, officials said on Monday.

An official of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) said that since August 21, all the local trains and an express train (Kanchanjunga Express) running between Agartala and southern Tripura’s Belonia and Sabroom were cancelled as the tracks were badly damaged in these routes.

A group of people can be seen watching the assault, but nobody appears to help. Another man animatedly wags his finger and verbally chastises the couple.The incident is from the Belonia town in the South Tripura district. The married man was allegedly found to be engaged in a romantic relationship with the 20-year-old woman from the same area. Locals caught them together on Saturday morning and tied them to the pole for a "shalishi baithak" -- a form of impromptu public trial through a Kangaroo court.The police later arrived and intervened to release the victims.None of the parties involved, including the injured man and woman, chose to file any formal complaints, though the police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.The cousin brother of the young woman has been taken into custody, and her sister-in-law is an accused in the physical assault. honey’s totally amazing holiday break [ pre - nye ]

she had a totally awesome break and is not using the new years party to make herself feel better :) 

one of the last few people to leave. not because she’s hesitating on whether to go back but because she’s just lazy to book flights home, even in the midst of the holiday rush.

and also, some ‘last minute holiday shopping’ at roseville. she fell back into old habits whenever she was in a funk and the semester itself was one funk after another. like something was off. maybe it was honey herself, but she shook that off when laid out with the options in front of her. 

locals and tourists alike, pockets and bags filled with whatever baubles and currency they could stuff in it. even with such a small town, honey had more than enough experience to subtly pick some pockets and make off with about four-hundred dollars to spare. enough to give her the same high she experienced when she was younger, when there was more ‘adventure’ to be held with her grandparents. 

even if her grandmother keeps saying that they were good now. that they were legitimate.

needless to say, she spent most of it on gifts to be given to friends including: a maroon trench coat for bea ( @beafitz ) ( that reminded her of the same coats in assasination nation and bea would def be part of her gang if she started one ), a bracelet with various colored gems on it for ria ( @riaflicke ) which are actually not crystals but shattered pieces of wine bottles fashioned into gems ( she’ll lowkey wait if ria figures it out or not lmao ) and matching christmas ornaments for her roommates from a local crafter in roseville ( @kassamigos , @swiiftbladcs , @jas-michaud ) because they seemed like such artsy gals to her and she wanted to look sophisticated even though the only sophisticated thing she thought she had were her calligraphy skillz.

once she’s home though, it’s lights and foods and the three of them - her and her grandparents - celebrating christmas the way they’ve always celebrated it. 

they go to church, which has always entertained honey because of who and what they’ve done as a family, but what the priest doesn’t know won’t hurt him :) 

after that they go home, eat a lot of food, talk about anything and everything (unless it was a secret) and wait for midnight where they open presents. her grandmother has gifted her a special kind of weapon: a bolo necklace made of thermo-wire that doubles as a garrote ( it’s what violet had as a weapon on teen wolf!!! im uncreative!! ), while her grandfather had fashioned a strap for those knives he had gifted her at the beginning of the school year. 

honey had brought them their gifts: a pair of shoes for her grandmother and a joji’s new album on vinyl for her grandfather because he’ll only take her music recs if he can listen to it on their lil mustard colored player in the living room.

usually, she wouldn’t be so glum. after all, there was nothing sad about the holidays for her. she’s always spent it with her grandparents and even if there was the incident from last summer with her estranged older sister, her grandparents spent their christmas the same way they always did with her: happy and content. 

but looking at them, how happy they were. even if walter gets the notes wrong on the little duets he and mona did on the piano. even if mona complains about almost every other thing when they’re in the kitchen doing stuff. they love each other, honey could see that quite clearly. her grandparents’ love were the greatest example of romantic love she’d seen in all her life. 

and that’s when it hit her. she was jealous. honey wanted a love like that. and admitting that right then and there as she watched them sing “together, one sweet day, loving you always..” and she held a breath.

it’s never been something she let herself feel before. after all, honey had mostly spent her time not dating people. and even if she was, it was mostly for show, never to actually have feelings for another person. 

but it was enough for her to stare out her window come christmas morning and her grandfather tried to comfort her, which only prompted her to tell him more of her past experiences with love. even if she’s not proud of it. like sleeping with scott even though he was dating somebody else. 

“am i a bad person? is this what i get for being a bad person?” “if you’re a bad person, then me and your lola are also bad. and we get to love each other.” “i don’t think that’s helping, lolo.” “you’re not a bad person, nora.” 

anyway, she still feels a lil glum bc she single n lonely but her lolo tried her best to cheer her up.

but she’s back in gallagher early to party!!! happy new years fellas!!!

as a sentimental person bea loved giving gifts, and in the lead up to the holidays she spent a lot of time acquiring presents to give to the people most important to her. she gave small tins of homemade cookies to all of her friends, but she wanted to do things in addition to that. for @mirasutton she got a bracelet featuring amethyst, mira’s birthstone, and a framed picture of the two of them in berlin. she gave @margotlusignan a pair of driving gloves, @honeybelon a fountain pen for her calligraphy, @ariabeck a pair of platform shoes to add to her collection, @jemfisch a set of guitar picks, and @peachesfm a book of christmas-themes ghost stories. she got coordinating slippers for the residents of room 308, @rainafms @calypsomarshall @dailypriya, as well as matching santa hats for mango and trixie. one present stayed hidden in her desk drawer: a leather-bound copy of the princess bride that she knew she would never give to @dxnnyboi but that she couldn’t stop herself from buying anyway. 

bea wasn’t in a good place when the semester ended, and she was mostly glad to be going home. she drove up to massachusetts with mira, glad to have her best friend with her to help keep her sane during the nine hour drive. there was something very comforting about being able to talk and listen to sad music as they got further and further away from a place that bea really needed a break from. after dropping mira off she took the ferry to nantucket, finally home after a painfully long day.

the holidays had been difficult for bea since her mother’s disappearance. there was an empty place at their table and a hole in their hearts that nothing could fill. bea and her grandmother had always been close - areta raised her just as much as her mother did. being away from her for most of the year was hard and she cherished the time they had together, but things were undeniably different. she and her grandmother decorated their tree, trying to stay composed as they rifled through handmade ornaments that held memories of her mother. they baked cookies in silence and pretended that the reason they weren’t speaking was so that they could listen to the classical music on the radio. they looked at old photographs and held each other’s hands tightly, hoping that everything left unsaid would be understood. bea had planned to teach herself how to play songs from evermore (i’m sorry) while she was home and she spent hours at the piano, singing until she cried and her grandmother made her stop. 

it wasn’t all sad. trixie loved running down the beach and playing chicken with the waves. bea got to see some of her oldest friends, and while it was awkward trying to dodge questions about school, it was also nice to be with people who’d known her for her whole life and who had no connection to the spy world whatsoever. she went to a bonfire on the beach and spent a night in her friend’s basement watching lifetime christmas movies and getting drunk on eggnog. mira came to visit for a day and bea always liked showing her the place where she grew up. bea’s grandmother loves mira and probably sees a bit of herself in her, and having mira there definitely lightened things up in the ng household. and then she got to go to boston to be with mira’s family. being welcomed into the coleman’s home genuinely warmed her heart and made her feel more equipped to face gallagher once more. on the 30th she and mira drove back down to roseville, and though bea was nervous about everything that was to come, there was a flicker of hope inside her for the new year.

I need help

This is Billy, one of my 3 cats that I rescued, and he suddenly showed up very very lethargic, weak and has blood on his penis. I don’t know what to do because a vet visit is 1000 BRL + and I currently have 0,24 on my account.

I don’t want anything bad to happen to my cat but I don’t know what to do anymore, so if anyone wants to help me treat my cat, you can donate through my kofi, or share this post so it has more visibility
