Summary: Reader has been feeling very insecure in their new relationship with Bucky, but Bucky puts together the pieces. Written for my New Years Celebration! (still open)

You and Bucky have been dating for only two months. An awesome two months, but it's only been two months. These months have been great! Amazing even!

But you can't help but wonder how long it'll last.

See, look, you love Bucky! You do, but you can't see this relationship lasting because after everything you've been through, after everyone leaving, and giving up on you, it's hard to see something so good staying.

So when he gets home from a mission to find you crying in the kitchen, you're sure it's gonna be the end. Why would he stay? He shouldn't have to deal with you crying when he just got back form what is very likely a bad mission.

But instead of seeming impatient, or upset, Bucky just gently pulls you into a hug and kisses your head.

"What's going on?" He asks gently, pulling back and looking down at you. You shake your head and he wipe away a tear. "Come on, tell me. No secrets, remember?"

"… I'm scared." You admit, and instantly wince. You sound pathetic… Scared of what? Scared of something so normal and human? Scared of something that's such a regular person problem compared to all the things he's been through, and goes through regularly. You see his face pinch in worry and he puts his hands on your hips.

"Of what?" He asks, looking around as if he'll find whatever is troubling you in the room.

"…Of ending up alone." You say, looking down at your hands on his chest. He's quiet for a moment and you're sure he's going to leave. He's going to realize you're too much to handle after everything he's been through, he's going to-

Bucky lifts your chin up with a finger, giving you a sad smile.

"I'm not leaving, Doll." He says, so sure. It's the most confident you've ever heard him. "Ever. You're stuck with me."

"I wouldn't blame you," You whisper. He shakes his head and kisses you gently.

"I'm not leaving. I love seeing you here when I get home. We were friends first, you think I'd just throw all of that away?" Bucky asks. "If you do, you're wrong. I love you, Y/N. I'm not leaving."

You hug him tightly and bury your face in his neck. You feel his arms quickly wrap around you and hold you close. You sniff and nod.

"Okay. I believe you." You say.

"Good, because I don't lie."

"Liar. You literally lie on a daily basis on missions."

"That's different."

"You still lie-"

"Ugh." Bucky groans, but he has a small mile on his face.

Yeah. These two months have been perfect. And the rest of your life will be just as perfect. He won't leave.
