"H… hi, Mr. Conehead."
*Peels back the roof of Ronnie's car*
"I find you unacceptable!"
"Yes, sir!"
"If I did not fear incarceration from human authority figures, I would terminate your life functions by applying sufficient pressure to your blunt skull so as to force its collapse!"
*Beldar replaces the roof in its original position and walks away*
"Th… thank you."
Happy 30th Anniversary to Coneheads

I am about to totally date myself, but when I was four, I was born the year before Ghostbusters, this was my favorite thing in the world, and I used to do conehead impressions. So I have loved this man all my life.🤣💖

Is coneheads a worthy watch? I've been debating watching it. Also what are your top picks for a Dan Binge.
I think it is, especially if you're watching for Dan! I really enjoy it, but maybe that's me being a little biased 😅 I adore Beldar.
And let's see, top picks for a Dan binge... Granted, I haven't seen everything, but this should be a good start! You've got (to start with, what I consider obvious choices, and then my personal favorites/ones that are available to watch):
Ghostbusters 1 and 2
The Blues Brothers
Loose Cannons
The Great Outdoors
Coneheads
Dragnet
The Couch Trip
Movies that aren't so easy to find (unless you know where to look 👀):
Love at First Sight
Doctor Detroit
I feel like I'm missing something super obvious, but I can't think of what it is... Anyway, thanks for asking!

Do I think it's ridiculous that they are releasing Stranger Things NFTs?
Yes.
Will I be buying the packs anyway for a chance at the rare ones that can be redeemed for the physical Funkos?
Also yes.

Coneheads
A pair of aliens arrive on Earth to prepare for invasion, but crash instead. With enormous cone-shaped heads, robotlike walks and an appetite for toilet paper, aliens Beldar and Prymatt don’t exactly blend in with the population of Paramus, N.J. But for some reason, everyone believes them when they say they’re from France. Credits: TheMovieDb. Film Cast: Beldar Conehead: Dan Aykroyd Prymatt…

Were-Aykroyds are a subspecies of werecreatures or were-celebrities who live in the Monster World. They are much like most werecreatures except different since well they turn into Dan Aykroyd or characters he has played, and it's not just at full moons, but at night in general or in Nathan's case whenever it gets dark in general. Or sometimes just when the Aykroyd side wants to show up, personality-wise they are very versatile, able to be both heoric characters and villains if he required to, this species is a parody of hive-mind tropes and of mind control in general. They are known for their genius level intellect and their sense of humor, powers-wise their abilities including psychic attributes, hypnosis, super strength, possession, and of course transforming others into Were-Aykroyds.
It is worth mentioning that sometimes a person turned into a Were-Aykroyd will identify as 'Dan' or feel sensations that are akin to what is known as 'phantom limb' syndrome, basically e.g if they have become Beldar Conehead and have morphed back to normal they will feel that their 'cone' (what Beldar's species calls the top of their heads) is still there. There are multiple ways to become a Were-Aykroyd, including special potions/artifacts, being kissed or hugged by one, sometimes a light scratch can even do it, there's also being possessed by one in spirit form, or being hypnotized by one and turned in that way, also even dreaming about Dan Aykroyd or of becoming him can lead to a transformation into one, and also there is an energy transfer they do where if a Were-Aykroyd transfers their powers into you you'll turn in that way, and yes..both genders can be transformed too, and there's of course befriending one, if you have a friend who is a Were-Aykroyd or has Were-Aykroyd powers, you can become one simply by befriending them, also watching a bunch of Aykroyd movies can help too.
Were-Aykroyds can look like Dan Aykroyd in all of the eras he has been around and can turn into characters he has played and also can look like and sound like the person in their normal form to fool enemies. Sometimes it may be difficult to adjust to being a Were-Aykroyd especially due to the unpredictable nature of the transformation, and also due to the dream/visions that come with it, oh yes…did I mention that? The dreams of turning into Dan or into a Were-Aykroyd become more and more realistic and vivid and surreal with each turn, to the point that they will actually feel like they're turning into one even when they're in normal form.
The transformation into one is always signified by a gurgling stomach, even if the person hasn't eaten anything bad or hasn't eaten prior. And while it may be frightening or grotesque at first, it actually is quite soothing, and in some cases..oddly alluring, of course they retain their personalities just with some Aykroydian quirks. Speaking of those, once someone turns Aykroydian or is starting to they might exhibit some aykroydian traits like speaking in jargon/techno-babble, this is known as Aykroydian babble and is precise and detailed and a trait of Dan Aykroyd's intelligent characters.
Also if said Dan Aykroyd character the person turned Were-Aykroyd has a particular voice or accent, they will start talking in the voice or accent of that character despite not having an accent before.

Time has not been kind to the Coneheads movie but there was a time in my childhood and/or teen years where I remember enjoying it. It's based on an old SNL skit Dan Aykroyd would do but the movie was produced long after that skit's prime, when SNL was pumping movies out in the wake of how successful Wayne's World was. Coneheads was about a race of aliens (with the cones) who did a lot of basic fish out of water "earth is so strange to us! and we are strange to you!" jokes. It was a lot funnier when there were a lot fewer examples of that humor.
Anyway, there's a scene where Beldar (Aykroyd)'s wife, Primyaat (played by Jane Curtin) is vacuuming their suburban home and the camera pans up to show that she's got the hose in her mouth. The doorbell or something rings and we see her cough up some lint.
Tumblr media
Without elaborating any further than this let me tell you that I was not a very bright child and that you should never, ever do this in real life, even if it looks like the vacuum hose is empty.

I got these Coneheads comics in the other day, and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed them!
Tumblr media
A couple of interesting things:
One of the coneheads sent after Beldar and his family is named Ackradd. Idk if that's just me looking into it too much, or if it really is supposed to be similar to Aykroyd (the person answering the fan mail in the back of the comics spells Dan's name like Ackroyd, so...)
There's a point where the neighbor, who's house-sitting, is watching The Blues Brothers perform Soul Man
