4. What is your favourite thing about your muse? Why did you pick them up, what do you want to explore?

(belated) Munday ask - open!

This ended up being CHUNKY so I'm gonna read more it lol

My favorite thing about Asuna? I think it's that she really tries with everything she has to beat the odds established for her. She uses her rough past to fuel the present and guide the future and does her best to not have it weigh her down. She's never lost her ability to be emotional and soft and empathetic, either. She still struggles from time to time with it, but overall she's very persevering and motivated and I'm very proud of her! To some degree this can be said for all of my OCs (I'm not as confident answering for Xie Lian yet) - but my only girl is my pride and joy. <3

The short version: because she just kinda showed up in my head and wouldn't leave me alone, the little bugger. The long version? I picked Asuna up because she was one of those little stories that popped into my head one day and just kinda wouldn't go away - I knew NOTHING, like, nothing, about Mortal Kombat until a few weeks before I made her, but one of my roommates grew up playing it and loves it. He got nostalgic and started binge-playing his old games, and I watched him do it, and slowly got into it to, even with me not really liking fighting games. I got really attached to Scorpion's story and personality, and the vague possibility of writing him popped into my head, but I was 1) scared of returning to RP because of past experiences, and 2) even if I did, I had never been in game-based rp communities and was sure that there would be a LOT of Scorpions and that my lack of experience with MK would make mine probably the worst Scorpion to ever exist, so I dropped it. But, as I kept thinking about his backstory and the stuff we don't see, I wondered more about the Shirai Ryu, about what life in the compound would be like, what kind of people Hanzo would recruit to be in his clan, and Asuna just... slowly took form. Little bits here and there that I gradually went in on until I had a fully formed muse in my mind - one that I could not only explore and appreciate other interpretations of Hanzo further with but also learn more about this franchise that I now have come to love very, very much.

As far as what I want to explore goes, there isn't a whole lot of *specific* content I'm looking for - because every person she meets and relationship she forms shapes her further and I get to see her grow and become a stronger person with each interaction, each thread. Regardless of the relationship she has in any thread, I love getting to watch her finally practice agency and taking control for herself after she spent her whole life without any. I'm down for literally anything with any character, any time, honestly!

Belated Munday | Accepting?

5. who is / was your favourite muse of all time to play?

Finnegan! I love this bastard. I actually told you, Bri, this privately before I read the questions you sent me, lol. Finnegan has the most wiggle room - he can be a total dick or made out of spun sugar and everything in between. He loves rarely, but fiercely. He works hard, but knows that he’s insanely privileged. He is hard on others, but he’s harder on himself. He’s smart, he’s powerful, he’s charming, he’s handsome - and he’s a pain in the ass. I love him. 

9. have the types of characters you play changed over the years?

You tell me. XP

I think I’ve begun to gravitate more towards OCs... which is actually where I started? I’ve come full circle. 

I’ve also had a lot of these clowns for five or six years or more, so that’s another thing to consider. I think I play more female muses than I used to, although a few of them never see the light of the dash. 

I think I play less “tortured” muses. I have a few still, but I’m getting to a point where I want to be choosier about where i put the angst. Like a tasteful throw pillow instead of a glitterbomb of angst.

15. Movie you could see yourself starring in? (belated MUNday)

Oh man. You know what? This is kind of weird, but I actually want to say The Crucible. There’s a bunch of films that I’d love to be able to do. But back in school, I got to audition for the lead role (John Proctor) in our production of The Crucible, and I got it. Which is actually terrifying because I auditioned for the lead assuming someone else would get it. lol

In the end, it was actually a lot of fun, and surprisingly well executed (lol) considering the age and experience we all had at the time. While I unfortunately haven’t had the luck to find any more theatre gigs post-school, I effing LOVE acting, and would do so much to get to get back on stage.

The Crucible was a super amazing story (to me), and I feel like the film (not sure how many versions exist, but the one I saw anyway) did a great job of interpreting the play. So if I were given the chance to play the role of John Proctor for The Crucible as a film, I would absolutely be thrilled.

3. Are you anything like your muse? 

Somewhat! Definitely both have needing to help people disease. I also have an absolute disaster sense of fashion. Plus. I get a fair bit of people just... trusting me? Not sure why but it’s a trend haha. 

4. Whats your favorite thing about your muse? 

she takes absolutely no shit. she doesn’t look away from the truth, even when she hates it, and i think that’s very admirable.

“Jo could stand to believe in themself more, and trust their own decisions!”

“Well there’s Reko-san, of course. And... Kai-san. We’re an interesting collection, that’s for sure.”

♚ Do you agree with fandom interpretation of your character?

      Hmmmm…there are quite a few Sans that I really like and inspire me, but I’ll be honest and say that, as a whole, the fandom interpretation of Sans can be pretty misleading and out of his character. His emotions and sexual side tend to get way over exaggerated to the point where it no longer feels like him, especially since he’s such a subtle character to begin with. So I don’t really agree with it, but that’s just my view on it, and I don’t fault anyone who does.

☯ Is your muse liked or disliked by fandom? Does this affect your portrayal?

     Some would say he’s OVERLIKED actually lol there are still plenty of fans who don’t like him, but 8/10 Undertale fans agree: Sans is the Man. This also means that there are a ton of RP blogs for him, so in that way, it’s affected my portrayal, as I’ve tried to be both true to canon and bring something new to the table to tell me apart of the masses of other super talented Sans blogs! 

✦ Has your own interpretation changed from when you first began playing the character?

     Oh man, you don’t even know! When I first began playing Sans I hadn’t put much background thought to him at all, so he was just sort of a pun telling skeleton who was a pretty nice guy but currently dealing with his own shit. A lot of his depth, personality quirks, background and world building came to me as I continued to play him and get familiar with the character. Sometimes I worry I’ve strayed too far from canon now but I do like who my Sans has developed into! 

❀ Share a headcanon you have not shared.

     Headcanon Time! Sans mentor/friend in his childhood, Mr.Muroidea, was a priest type figure back when monsters lived on the Surface. It was through him that Sans learned about concepts such as Hell, as much of the Underground pushed away their old religion after imprisonment. He’s read through sections of the bible (the old that Mr.Muroidea had, anyway, though some sections had fallen out or faded with time) and has found their stories to be interesting, but isn’t convinced they’re more than just stories. 

      Yet, he still damns the kid to hell in bad timelines.
