The United States has just announced that they are lifting the ban on Elephant trophies, allowing anyone in other countries who have hunted elephants legal access to do so & bring the “trophy” back into the US. Elephants are already an extremely vulnerable species, the African Elephant is listed as endangered if you simply google it. Back in 2008, conservationists warned that by 2020, they will become extinct if widespread poaching continues. Nearly 10 years later and continued poaching, I can’t even begin to think about how that number has increased. 2020 is only three years away, that means these creatures could have only THREE years left to LIVE. Can you imagine seeing pictures of the beautiful African safari and each time you saw a photo, less and less animals can be seen? Humans have done this. Horrible human beings have hunted animals for pleasure and it disgusts me. If you wear animals, you are disgusting. If you shoot animals, you are disgusting. If you lift a ban that helps these beautiful animals stay alive, you are one of the most disguising people in the world. Please help these wonderful, sweet creatures. They belong in this world. Elephants are some of the smartest animals to exist and are worth so much more than being trophies. This is (once again) a backwards step this country has taken within the last year. I beg you to please become educated on this topic (not only for elephants but for other animals too) and take a stand to help protect them.
