i’m sorry if this sounds weird but it’s genuinely admirable
this is the sweetest ask ever thank you friend :( this means a lot to me!! i really admire this community as a whole because i think so many folks are incredible at expressing really beautiful sentiments about dnp and love; i have a really meaningful time toying around with different words and phrasings to try to express my thoughts :P and it always is really sweet to hear that people like the stuff i say! because i do just yap but yapping about love is quite a nice pastime i think :D
this is a really nice thing to hear it brightened up my evening a bit ^_^ thank you so much lovely <3 (ps idk what im on either they drive me crazy)

We saw a new vet today and I'm so pleased. There are now three vets at the office we go to. One I absolutely do not like and I will never voluntarily see him. The other I do like but she didn't have any availability that works for me this month. And so I took a chance and scheduled with the new hire
He was a very kind old man. Misty forgot she was scared a couple times when he was just talking to her and seeing if she was interested in being petted (the answer was no and he respected it, which I love). Of course he did have to touch her for her exam, but that's the necessary evil here. He was very gentle and soft voiced with her. To the point where I sometimes wasn't sure if he was talking to me or her.
Many, many compliments on her condition. Pleased surprise at her abs and apparently perfect teeth. He told me that he felt guilty now for how out of shape his pups are. She's lost a couple pounds since her April appointment, somehow. I think she looked better in April, we've been summer couch potatoes. I've been advised to change nothing because she's perfect.
Misty is still absolutely petrified at the vet though. I had to carry her in because she refused to go through the door. She was trembling so hard her teeth were chattering. And she tried as hard as she could to merge into my skin. She would not take treats in the waiting room, but once we were decompressing in the exam room she eventually took a few. Only from my hand. If she dropped it, or I did, she would not move away from me to go get it. Highest value treats we have right now, next time I guess we'll try hotdogs or lunch meat or something else that she basically never gets. Reconfirmed that I can come visit and work on making it not so scary for her. Hang out, have some special treats, and leave basically.
I do wonder how common this reaction is to the vet post spay. Before she was spayed, she actually liked going. Even if there were shots. But ever since, she's just a scared, trembly mess.
Anyways. I think I will schedule future appointments with him when possible. Misty prefers men to women generally so maybe that will help a bit

15 questions for 15 friends
Tagged by @gingerniiiija. Thanks, friend! This was super fun.
Were you named after anyone? I was. In good Southern (US) fashion, I have a double name that incorporates my grandmother's maiden name, which was also my mom's middle name and is now one of my niece's names.
When was the last time you cried? Today. I took one of my dogs to board at the same time that a pup was coming for their last vet visit and watching him surrounded by his crying family while an instrumental version of a Brandi Carlile song played over the vet speakers broke me. Managed to keep it together until I got to the car. Before that, Thursday during Critical Role.
Do you have kids? I do not. I do have wonderful nieces, and being their aunt is one of the best things in my life.
What sports have you played/do you play? I played church basketball and soccer when I was little. As an adult, I've played rugby but I tend toward activities like running, yoga, swimming, and hiking/wandering with my dogs.
Do you use sarcasm? Yes, in a dry humor way. My entire family is dry as hell, so it's a big part of my sense of humor, although I rein it in with strangers so as not to be a tool. I'm typically called a golden retriever gay, but one of the highest compliments I have ever received was one of my oldest friends telling me that Sister Michael from Derry Girls reminded her of me.
First thing you notice about people? I genuinely don't think I have a pattern here. Voice, maybe? Or smile? I do often appreciate and take note of people's style as well, especially shoes.
What is your eye color? Green
Scary movies or happy endings? Whichever has the better queer storyline
Any talents? I come in clutch in the following trivia categories: pop culture (non-reality tv); 90s country music/modern women of country; name that song; US history and politics and/or law; and queer things. Per my nieces, I am very good at the "funny faces" feature on FaceTime, a solid water slide escort, and an acceptable makeshift jungle gym. I have been told that I'm an excellent driver; I enjoy driving and have driven both a passenger van and a U-Haul up most of the East Coast of the US.
Where were you born? A military base in the United States.
What are your hobbies? I love writing, feeding/spending easy time with friends, reading (preference for fiction, poetry, and comics, although I do love some philosophy and theory as well), exploring good food and new places (solo or with friends, my own city or others), live music and theater, playing board games and Switch, watching tv and movies (my oldest niece and I see a movie every time I visit them in person and it brings me great joy), and being silly with my nieces. I'm a lawyer and a law nerd, so I also spend time following SCOTUS and listening to legal/political podcasts.
Do you have any pets? Two dogs, Annie and Buffy, a big doofy retriever mix and a tiny poodle-ish terror respectively.
How tall are you? 5' 8"
Favorite subject in school? Growing up, English/Lit, closely followed by History. At university, I majored in History and Gender & Sexuality Studies.
Dream Job? Obligatory note that I do not dream of labor. But I'm actually currently working on a career shift, so I'm giving this a lot of thought. I'd love to be a writer, journalist, professor, or preacher (last one is more complicated, for probably obvious reasons).
Would love to see answers from anyone who wants to do this! Tagging @korralone, @kasadilla11, @antlereed, and @overnighttosunflowers. Pls forgive me/disregard if you hate this, ha.

HAPPY SUGA DAY!
Disclaimer:
****I meant to get this post up on Yoongi's actual birthday but due to Tumblr completely deleting my first draft and having to deal with some crap at work, I haven't really been in my right mind to do so, so unfortunately I wasn't able to get it done in time. Even if it's a little late I hope you guys still enjoy this post!****
So I've been thinking all day what I can say about Min Yoongi that I haven't said already and sadly I'm drawing a blank.
I think everyone knows by now how, underneath that hard and standoff-ish exterior, Yoongi is truly one of the sweetest, most caring members in BTS.
He may be the designated "grandpa" but he can give Jin a run for his money as the "mom" of the group with the way he dotes on every single member in his own way. So instead of me doing a long winded post that loses it train of thought a million times I think I'll expand on how much Yoongi truly loves his brothers:
▪JIN
So when it comes to the relationship these two share, "opposites attract" is the best way I could describe it. While one is outgoing and loud, the other is more reserved and quiet. This duo loves to annoy each other and you can see that every time Jin cracks a face-palm inducing dad joke, and vice versa whenever Yoongi makes fun of Jin for his "old" age. I mean it's obvious to ARMY by now how extra Jin can be at times, but even through all the cringe-worthy moments and  second-hand embarrassment, at the end of the day, Yoongi still has great appreciation and respect for him.
Tumblr media
▪JIMIN
Like Jin and Yoongi, Jimin and Yoongi are also quite opposites when it comes to their outlook on life. Where Jimin sees positivity, Yoongi is more about realism. It's not that he doesn't want to see the world as a happy place, but he also doesn't want to be blind to the truth either. That's why these two work so well together, one is the lifts the other up while the other protects them from harm.
Tumblr media
▪TAEHYUNG
It's no secret that Tae marches to the beat of his own drum, but it is because of this fact that Yoongi finds him so endearing. During an episode of BV the two were partnered up to spend time together and even when everyone else said they would never agree on anything, Yoongi had the perfect solution. He cares a lot for Tae and he knows how hard the past few years have been for him after losing precious loved ones, so he's kind of been the one looking out for him behind the scenes.
Tumblr media
▪JUNGKOOK
When it comes to emotional vulnerability, I would say Kookie and Yoongi are two peas in a pod. Neither one chooses to wear their hearts on their sleeves, but on the rare occassions when they do, you can guarantee you will find yourself crying along with them. There's a lot of pressure and uncertainty that goes alongside being the maknae of the group, and even more so when you're the golden maknae, and that's why I think Yoongi has taken it upon himself to help shoulder those burdens by taking care of him. Whether it's sticking up for him, encouraging him, or simply offering to buy him a proper meal, Yoongi has always been a great hyung to Kookie. And who could forget the iconic moment of "Friendship is Irish Bomb"? Haha
Tumblr media
▪HOSEOK
Ok, so there's a lot with this relationship. We have day meets night, dark meets light, and cynicism meets positivity. These two contrast so much but still connect on the same level in countless other ways. Both are 2/3 that form one of the best raplines I've ever seen. Both are very passionate about what they do (J-Hope: dance, Yoongi: music) and they have worked their butts off to reached the point they're at now. Because Yoongi is such a realist, he is constantly overwhelmed with the state of the world, and he desperately needs to see the happier side that he might be missing...that's where Hobi comes in. There's a reason he was given the nickname he was given, he provides everyone around him with hope and happiness when they need it most, and that especially applies to Yoongi.
When you constantly find yourself in the limelight it can be hard not to lose yourself within it. You might even forget your sense of self and instead be reduced to nothing more than a preconception told from a cameras perspective; that's when friends are the best cure, and Hobi just so happens to be that friend. These two are important for one another because whenever they're together it seems to be nothing but laughs and genuine smiles. They are carefree and able to be themselves around each other. To have that sense of freedom is probably a rare occasion for BTS in general, but even more so for the one who's know to be the "cold-hearted" and I'm happy he can find it with Hobi.
Tumblr media
▪NAMJOON
Finally we have these two: Namjoon and Yoongi.
I've decided to save this one for last because to me they have a bond that completely differs from all others previously mentioned. These two have known each other the longest, have lived together the longest, and have seen each other at their worst points. Before debuting these two would fight constantly, both due to genuine disagreements, and also because of the countless hardships and pressure they had thrown at them. They have grown with each other and have been there to strengthen each other every step of the way.
Yoongi might not be one to express his feelings so openly, but every time I see the clip of him crying with Joon after receiving their first MAMA award It's obvious how much he does care and how much this all means to him.
To be honest, Yoongi never fails to show his love and support whenever his brothers are feeling down, and that especially goes for Joon. With him being the leader of BTS there is so much added pressure and expectations to live up to that it can be overwhelming, and on top of all of it, being the designated translator, writing and producing most of BTS' songs, and also trying to learn the choreography to go along with said song can seem next to impossible; Yoongi sees these struggles and he does all he can to help lessen the weight.
These two honestly do share one of the most profound bonds and I believe nothing could severe it completely. They might still have their fights, I mean they're human, it's bound to happen, but the respect and admiration they have for one another wins out every time.
As much as they love each other, these two also love to screw with each other too. Yoongi constantly makes fun of Joon for his clumsiness and Joon makes fun of Yoongi for his laziness, but in the end these two wouldn't be who they are without the other.
Yoongi once said in an interview that Joon is one of his favorite people he's ever met and if he had to pick a person to spend his last day with he would pick him. Then Joon in a different interview mentioned how Yoongi is basically his mirror and he takes care of the thing that Joon is unable to. These two compliment each other so well, and musically speaking, their backgrounds come from very similar places that they just know how the other runs. If Hobi allows Yoongi to act himself and to let loose physically, then Joon is his emotional release. They know how to have those deep heart-to-heart conversation without worrying what the other might think. Yoongi is able to use his words and is able to open up to Joon about any doubts, fear, or anxiety he might be struggling with, as well as using them to provide Joon with the assurance he needs that he is doing a good job as the leader; and in return, Joon gives Yoongi that sense of comfort and stability whenever he needs it.
Min Yoongi and Kim Namjoon.
Yoonie and Joonie.
Suga and RM.
AGUST D and Rap Monster.
Lil Meow Meow and Killer Dimples.
These boys are one in the same: two overall geniuses who started as underground rappers possessing skills of insane flow and destructive lyrics, then forced to become idols, who eventually helped redefined what idols are, and now are global superstars that have created the golden rapline (with Hobi), are living their wildest dreams yet still remain humble, as well as unapologetic about incorporation crucial social topics into their songs.
There's a reason these two get along so well and that's because of years of being around each other, having the same deep, philosophical thought process, and knowing that hard work, sleepless nights, and finding growth within personal struggles are what it takes to reach your ultimate goal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The point is, if you're still with me that is haha, is that Suga tends to have this reputation that he is cold-hearted and aloof when it comes to the rest of the members, but honestly who wouldn't be exhausted and not wanting to participate in different events after having not slept for days on end and pouring their blood, sweat, tears (not intentional btw) into their creations?! Suga is one of the hardest working, passionate, individuals out there and if he didn't sacrifice so much for us, far beyond what this post can tell you, then BTS would not exist the way we know it now. It because he is willing to put his own health and well-being on hold --despite ARMY and the boys wishes-- and take on this almost altruistic behavior that I have so much respect and admiration for Yoongi. And anyone who says that this man is cold or that he hates his members...Have you not seen this man's precious, gummy smile when he's having the time of his life with his favorite people? There's a reason he chose to call himself "Suga" and that's because underneath that hard outer shell, deep down Min Yoongi is nothing but pure sweetness who isn't afraid to dream big and wants to see those he loves succeed to their fullest potential.
He is our resident grandpa, a musical genuis, and can spit fire while roasting people with the highest level of savageness you can achieve. He is the 2nd oldest, the hyung who tends to show his love when the cameras aren't rolling, and he is the backbone of BTS who slaves away in the recording studio to produce these insane tracks we all love so much. He is the only one that I've noticed who mirrors and compliments Namjoon's own thoughts and feelings and he is a huge reason why BTS has been so successful like they are.
We love you
Min Yoongi
Suga
AGUST D
Lil Meow Meow
Grandpa Yoongs
I hope you had a great birthday and thank you for everything you have done for BTS in the past, everything you're doing in the present, and everything you will do in the future. You are one of my biggest inspirations and I wish you all the best!
화이팅! 💜

A Passing Lively Mirror
People sometimes say when a kid compliments you, that is the highest form of compliment you could ever get considering the majority of children's tendency to be as blunt and as honest as possible. Their view is still shaped and their innocence really could light up someone’s day. They could also be pretty unhinged and their intake on some topic can be extremely weird. They could either terrify you or make you laugh the most obnoxious laugh in your life.
My neighborhood conducted a get together for all of its residents in celebration of my country’s independence day yesterday night. We basically chill, say our prayer for the collective masses and the nation’s wellbeing, we talk among ourselves and of course we eat and snack.
After mingling a while introducing myself or striking up conversations with some of my neighbors I already knew, I was sitting on my own minding my business munching on some Bakwan and trying to finish a Candy Crush level when a small girl sat beside me. Both of us were waiting for our respective mothers who were busy distributing the boxed dinner for all of them attending the event. For those who don’t know, I rarely strike up a conversation with small children in preschool or early years of elementary school cause I always have this unexplainable anxiety towards people in general and or especially kids even though I have two younger brothers lolz.
I don’t like children’s cautious stares and I'm just afraid they will cry if I say something wrong so then their parents will scold me senseless even though I didn’t mean to.
Let’s just say I hate the outcome of the strange unknown encounters. Especially the parents. I can understand their protectiveness but seriously, if I want to harm your child I wouldn’t make them cry and wail. I can also understand children and their defense mechanism towards something strange but yeah I just hate feeling guilty of making children cry.
This small girl, probably not older than 5 because she was so tiny, was staring at me for a while. She was observing my face and Candy Crush gameplay for so long I got a little bit self-conscious. It was funny. Again, I don’t like to be the first one to strike up a conversation with small children so I just smile at her sweetly. Even though I know my eyes are just empty, soulless. But she took it as a cue to say her hello to me.
I’m not a heartless human being, of course I said hello back. This time, I did it with more emotion and enthusiasm which was reciprocated by her. She asked for my name, and for some rare occurrences, I was elated because  someone pronounced them clearly on the first try. They don’t butcher it or change the first letter of my name. She repeated back my name to me clearly to make sure she said right.
And it came from a kid. Hah. You adults, do that one better!
I could hug her parents for raising such a brilliant and considerate girl.
When I asked what her name was, she told me with a really explosive excitement I can’t help but to smile and feel comforting warmth. When I repeated her name back like what she did to mine before, she just grinned and nodded enthusiastically. If only my brothers were this sweet when they were small brat, I'd be content.
After that she threw me a bunch of questions about the game I was playing, how old I was, what’s my favorite food, how much my phone’s cost, relentless but I didn’t mind. When she was satisfied with her short inquiries, she started to tell me her own answer to those questions she asked me. What an inquisitive chatterbox. It reminds me of how I was when I was her age.
My parents used to tell me I was talkative the moment I could talk, I’d be running my mouth and almost making every one of my conversation partners’ ears off. I even used to animatedly recount my weird imaginations to a shopkeeper by the house my parents rented back then when I was a toddler. I can’t remember a thing but it’s always fun to see my mother recount those tales with a fond look on her face. I was her first born after all.
I let her talk to me while she leaned her whole body on my side, she talked a lot about what she usually does at her preschool, how her mother scolded her before they went to the event because she threw a tantrum of not wanting to use her hijab, and even retell me some of her older sister’s embarrassing stories. The said sister apparently was sitting beside her slightly to the back and trying to hide her face after hearing those. I gave her a slight apologetic smile and went back to amused the little chatterbox.
“Can I see your phone?” she finally asked me after eyeing the back of my phone for quite some time after her chatters died down. I shrugged then gave out my affirmative, I handed her my phone and she immediately turned it around to see the photos I placed inside the clear protective case.
There are two photos, Jimin and Jin of BTS. It was from the editorial picture of their Vogue Magazine shoot.
“Who is it?” pointed her one little finger to Jimin’s photo.
“Umm, a singer.” I replied, not wanting to dive into unnecessary details.
“What singer? What kind of songs does he sing?”
“Korean singer.” The moment I answered that, she sat upright, took a deep breath before chattering away about her adoration toward Chimmy, one of the characters of BT21. Those characters were designed and created by the BTS members and have become some kind of their other marketing symbols to branch out to the other generations where it applied. Little kids usually are BT21's target audience.
“I like some of them too! My favorite is Chimmy but I still couldn’t distinguish which one is Chimmy’s Appa sometimes.” she pouted and I resisted with all of my might not to giggle uncontrollably.
Of all the topics out there, of course we bond over BTS’ universe.
The sister is suspiciously quiet, so I assumed the one who tried so hard not to join in our little exchange was the shy older sister. I think the little girl knew about Chimmy from her, or the other older girls in her playtime circle around afternoon hours in the neighborhood.
“Yeah? Hmm I like Chimmy as well. This is Chimmy’s Appa.” I pointed to the earlier picture of Jimin on my phone case.
“Ahhhh… Okay!” she flopped her attention back to my phone case this time pointing to Jin's picture.
“Is this Koya?” she asked.
“Emmb, that’s RJ’s Appa.”
“Really? Hmm I’m bad at this.” she huffed then gave my phone back towards my open hand. When I chuckled, she only grinned up at me.
Some kids are really born to be sweet angels. I see, God, I see.
She was still beside me even when both of our mothers found us and handed our respective boxed dinners. The event already went into full swing where some people my age and the elders hogged the karaoke machine and sang to their heart’s content. My ears almost bleed whenever any of them belting out high notes with the poor sound equalization settings. The terrible treble setting almost sent me back home clutching my poor ears, but the girls beside me didn’t look bothered. I almost cry out of irony.
I tried to distract myself by eating any snacks that passed by my presence, this time I was munching happily on Banana Molen when the little girl poked one of my cheeks.
“You’re cool.” she said while also munching on some sweet potato crisps, she took a moment before finally adding, “you also look really cute.”
When I told you my heart soared so high after that comment, I soared and felt like ascending to some sort of content feeling clutching my little tiara with my left hand.
This compliment beats any other flirting some guy my age threw at me.
When people say little kids' compliments sometimes can do wonders to your serotonin boost, I didn’t believe them. Never encountering a sweet kid makes me doubt that statement, I only see them happen on Social Media. My first hand experiences always consist of Evil Nazi reincarnated booger collector little demons. So this fresh change of encounter delighted my weary and gray soul.
I openly chuckled for a while before replying, “Thank you. You’re cool and cute as well, kid.” I patted her hand “Waaaaay cuter than me.” she then giggled then slot her head on my shoulder for a moment before turning her full attention to her mother, fussing about not wanting to eat the fried chicken with her bare hand.
“She was just like you when you were three. Like a little walking encyclopedia” commented my Mom while passing me a water bottle.
“I got shy pretty quick when I was her age though.” I replied, still trying to finish my forgotten Molen in my hand.
“Yeah, I still wonder what happened.”
Me too, Ma, me too.
L.
