Nighthour Chattings

literature writing work that involves around damii and narren! it's just them being besties : ] + goes into more detail abt their friendship dynamic and both of their charas!

It was 8:00 pm, in the middle of the night, which was perfect timing for Damii to begin to do their routine of collecting information about the existence of monsters. This was also a perfect timing for them to visit Narren as he and Damii can see each other during that time due to Narren being much more active at nighttime, reasonably so because of him being a vampire and all.

During the routine, Damii was writing in their log journal, having Narren begin to pique his interest in whatever is in that journal. Narren's begging to know what's in it, so naturally in his own Narren nature, he floats a bit towards Damii, getting closer to them. "Heeeeeeey. What exactly are you writing in that journal, Damii? I see you carrying that thing around you all the time, always seem to be writing whatever in it!" Damii got started seeing Narren up close to them after hearing him speak. They relaxed down and looked at Narren. "AHH! Don't scare me like that, Narren!! You could just, y'know, not approach me like that with you floating out of nowhere!" They said in an annoyed tone.

Narren rubbed his hand against the back of his head, having a silly-like expression on his face. "Teehee! Sorry, sorry." He lowered himself down, now landed onto the ground and put his arm around Damii's shoulders, using his other hand to point at their log journal. "Say, what's in that journal anyway Damii? Can I take a peek? Is it like some of those "deep secrets" stuff that you humans write about?" He stared at Damii with a biiiig curious look in his eyes. "Oh well, it's nothing like that! What's in this journal are my reports of monster sightings, all of these are my full length research on proving their existence!" Damii proceeds to show the log journal to Narren to look at what they've written in it, Damii points at one specific section of the journal.... Wait, is the section about Narren's existence as a vampire and vampires in general? "Look! I have written a section about you Narren, well *not* exactly about you but more about vampires as I did research about them before since they're such interesting kinds of monsters to research!"

Narren is surprised at how fully dedicated Damii is about proving monsters are real, he reads a bit of the vampire section and then points out at a few information written in the section. "Hmm... I'd say some of these are kinda true! Although there is some incorrect information written in this section here and there." Narren looked confused at this one part of the section highlighted Do vampires act all dramatic and mysterious with some kinda powerful aura they've got going around them like some rumors have stated? "Like this one! We do NOT act all dramatic, mysterious, or have some sort of powerful thingy going on with us. That's kinda an odd misinformation for sure."

Damii felt a bit embarrassed about hearing some of the information they've written is not correct. "My bad Narren, to be truthfully honest? Most of my research on what I know about vampires is based on what sources said thus that's why I added those in thinking they're true. I do appreciate your insights though, I find that helpful!" Damii thanks Narren for his insights as his help made them learn new things about vampires.

"It's no problem Damii! I don't entirely blame you for not knowing this information being proven incorrect, we are a bit secretive about ourselves when it comes to not wanting to be found out by humans who are scared of us and do our best to blend in the crowd through appearing human! Well, at least most vampires who can do that stuff well. Me? I have struggles with trying to appear human as I'm not great at it so I just put on a hoodie, cover my ears, and that's about it! I can't exactly do much about my eyes and fangs but all humans do seem to fall for my "oh they're just decoratives" lie thus being able to blend in the crowd without any trouble funny enough."  

Narren showed off a big smile on his face. "Good thing you are the first human that isn't afraid of me! And we're both alike in terms of goals, like you wanting to know more about monsters which I can help you with and me wanting to know more about human society with your help! Plus you're my human best friend, I have ton of fun hanging out with you and as your monster best friend, I'll do everything I can to help you out on your monster research!''

Damii feels encouraged by Narren's words, being appreciative of him considering them as a fun friend of his. They smiled back at him ''Yeah, I'll do everything to help you too Narren on learning about what human society is like and even take you out to places for you to truly appreciate more of human society together!'' Both of the friends feel even more happier than ever with each other, having promised to achieve their goals and remain to be the greatest friends ever with their strong bond. 

''I think it's about time I should get working on my research before I get myself tired from staying up too long, so let's get to working, Narren! Tell me everything you know about monsters and help me track some proof about them shall we?'' Damii started to get back working on their research, and Narren nodded his head to start helping out Damii with their research work. ''Oh, yeah of course! I forget that humans can't exactly stay up too long haha, I'll get to working right away with your research!'' 

Damii and Narren spent the rest of the night collecting data for the research, having the most fun of their lives with their friendship being even stronger than ever.

im pretty annoyed after today because my bestie was sick and couldnt come in and by some miracle we got this lady who literally never covers shifts to come in bu-buT, she sucks ass ofc. like i was relieved we'd have coverage and i could leave on time for once bc if not i was gonna stay an extra two hours so there would be more than 1 person at shelter- the other person was that annoying new coworker tho so um yeah. but yeah i was annoyed, this woman has worked there for years but never without a supervisor present bc she works first shift (aka the best shift to have and the ageist management never gives it to anyone who isnt close to 30 and up... so like a lot of the advocate teehee) but ~i~ have been working without a supervisor on saturdays since february soooo i DO this shit. often times with only one other person. it's strange bc it's just occured to me today that most of the regular staff isnt aware of how active a role i take on weekends bc they usually see me doing more intern-y stuff, but with weekends being so short staffed, i interact with clients a lot more and do phones and case management a lot. So today a client who didnt sign up for dinner took 3 meals lmao. two would of made sense bc she has a daughter, but 3 was like.. gorl. but we had made 3 extras so we just shook our heads like I GUESS

plot twist, we come out to the dining area later and see only one "extra" meal has been taken... this lady saw that she could of taken extras and took someone else's meal??? it's literally all labeled with names lmao so what you need to know about me is that im actually a very confrontational person, AND i basically was mentored by my two work besties who are also that way and dont give a fuck... they also happen to be some of the best advocates there. I say that bc i dont want you to think that im just biased towards assholes, they legit care the most about these women, that why we all vibe bc we all give a fuck lmao.

SO i learned by their example and i saw this and was like "ugh well i'll go talk to her and tell her what's what" to the new intern who was with me. So headcount is: new intern (i really like her actually, but she is a teenager still), coworker picking up shift who is bad at her job (like literally doesnt do her job which is helping our clients TEEHEE) and just grating in general, and new coworker who says ignorant things and doesnt have a backbone (she was afraid to tell a client she couldnt have something on the phone bc she didnt wanna get yelled at lol, and everytime i call her out on something she backs down). At the time, i didnt not realize it, but i was literally the most capable person there bc i didnt realize that slacker coworker had never not had a supervisor lmao.

i go into the office and mention as i walk thru on my way to the client's room what happened and what i was gonna do. I didnt think this would be an issue, i was just keeping everyone up to date like i would if my besties were there. I wasnt gonna yell at this woman or anything, i know how to talk to people, and this client has had other meal incidents before this to where i felt comfortable directly addressing it with her bc she knows better honestly. And everyone is like "wait wait wait dont do that." and it turned into a big drama show lmao. like slacker coworker was like "well you still have two extra dinners so no harm done" and new intern and i both are like "okay that's not the point" and basically everyone was acting like it was too risky???? and i was like "guys, i dont care if she gets mad at me, she needs to be set straight, alright" and slacker is talking to me like im about to go fight her or some shit, using "soothing" language like "i understand why you feel this way bUT" and basically her arguement boiled down to not wanting to risk this woman starting a scene bc there wasnt a supervisor lmaooooo like gorl we have FOUR PEOPLE!!! that's more than enough ahahahha like that's a LOT on the weekend and she's fucking scared lmao. like im not trying to have this discussion bc ~i~ am upset, im trying to get shit done bc yes this time, there wasnt any harm, but ive had incidents where we dont have extras or leftovers and ive had to make an entire extra meal, wasting time that could of been spent getting essentail meds for a client since it was only me and one other person at shelter that night teehee. and i have experience with this bc i literally went up to the little THIEF client and was like "bruh not cool we saw you in the cameras, it's obv u knew that wasnt yours lmao." okay that was specific but YES IT MATTERS.

honestly it got weird bc this client is def an asshole and like has weird mood swings with how she treats you but honestly idgaf the issue was everyone seemed really nervous like she was gonna get violent which i simply had not considered bc she's not an addict to my knowledge and in my experience, those are the clients that do crazy shit lol it felt racist. the client is a black woman who is unpleasant and everyone was acting like i was going straight into a fight and i was like ???? someone said "*client* is bigger than you Chad.." and i was like okay and?? like let's follow this weird hypothetical and consider that she hits me or some shit: i dont careeeee, im not afraid to get hit lmao if that happens it's not like im about to fight her, im leaving and calling the cops and she's gonna get escorted off property, tadaaaa. acting like this woman is some body builder like she's a little taller than i am and sorta overweight lol im terrified.

so yeah i end up getting sorta "talked down" and im like fine. and their solution was giving a reminder to "everyone" about the meal system. everyone is the client and 2 others there at the time -_- it was so stupid. so im like okay but im starting with her lol and the new intern decides she wants to go, which im not thrilled about bc i feel like the more people, the weirder, but whatever she can learn from this i guess, but then annoying coworker decides to go???? and im like "this is a bad idea bc having this many people makes it seem like a confrontation, like this is aggressive lol" but they sent her anyway. ofc right when we get there she is coming out so we cant even be in the room with the damn labelled containers. and so i explain the "reminder" not to take meals that arent explicitedly labeled extra if u havent signed up and she like laughs like "oh that seems like it's self explanatory" and im like "haha you wOULD THINK"

i was so mad. i hate doing this little game of pretend, and i hate that she got to mock me like that. like girl we have u on camera. but im really ticked off that the new intern had that as her example. she was very against my idea but that's bc she doesnt know how shit works around here and hasnt had a situation like this, and these two dumbasses reinforced that hesitancy. In this job, you cannot take shit from clients, it's better if you are stern and direct or they will trying to take you for a ride. on a deeper level, i feel like it could of been like a life lesson for this girl. im only a few years older than she is, i know, but i can feel our age gap enough, and i wanted her to be able to see how to do a proper work confrontation and if it had escalated she would of had that experience of how to handle it anyway. but nooooo these two jabronis ruined that.
