Day Breaks is probably one of the most reviled chapters in Path of Radiance both because it’s so long and because the enemy density and reinforcement locations (especially in part 3) are borderline unreasonable but from a design perspective it’s a pretty decent map because despite its difficulty it still lets you save in between each part and the payoff for making it through the longest single chapter in post-GotHW FE is well worth it because you can now
nearly kill *l*v*r
finally promote Ike (and probably a bunch of other units from the amount of obtainable exp in Day Breaks)
get arguably the best dancer the series has ever seen
have a slow, bulky unit learn Adept
leave Bengion and its (mostly) insufferable populace behind
start playing maps with Crimea Attacks as the bgm
begin to strike back against Daein, starting the build-up to the climax of the game
#fe9#fire emblem: path of radiance#like. I get why people hate it but having played through it again I'm less convinced that it's Objectively Bad#it also helps that the next map is relatively straightforward#part 3 is my least favorite because the opening turns are Really Stressful but once you pick up the pace it's. like.#the feeling where you enter Rhythm Game/Vs. Puzzle Game Trance Mode#being able to give br/om adept is defintely a high point of beating *l*v*r
