Sharing the last alternative #colorblocked finalsketch from my work for the second class in the Workshop on #skillshare about Developing Your illustration style with memorable styles; entitled World of Color: Using color to design a character. The class project is to create a cartoon character using the principles of color that was taught at the beginning of the class. This is a copied layer of my #colorblocked #sketch with hue, saturation, shadows and highlights; that’s had a change in the line color and rim effect. This one depicts the character, who I’ve named ‘Muriela’ and is the Guardian of the purple galaxy, as giving her life force (hence her now pale grayish skin) to sustain the dark ruby gem 💎 which has been absorbed into her cloak (hence the dark red hues shown in her cloak). Beginning sketch of Aquaman that I never finished last night. Maybe I’ll get to finish it soon and I’ll post the completed drawing. :) Before anyone says anything- I know it doesn’t look good. But this blog isn’t really about posting 100% good and complete art. It’s mostly for me, so I can track my progress with how I’m doing throughtout the year. Like it says on my page header- I’m just thriving to get better at drawing.
