I finally finished my magic box! I bought an unfinished wooden box and decked it out with everything I wanted and am very happy with the result :) Now it’s the centerpiece of my altar! I needed something to keep all of my tools in but I wanted it to be personal. I handpainted everything with acrylic. On the top and sides I have my favorite monarch butterflies, on each side I’ve painted Salvador Dali’s Castor and Pollux (I���m a Gemini) and on the very front I have Soma the Goddess of plant and fungi (including my very good friend the mushroom who has helped me so much). I didn’t have any spells or sigils that I wanted to put it in it for now but that’s why I left the black part unfinished, I even lined this myself with felt! I also switched out the lock for the beautiful butterfly lock I put on there :) This box definitely went on a personal journey with me, it makes me feel like we’ve both went through things together and it wasn’t an easy one. Wiccan /Witchcraft beginner’s advice and help?

I’ve taken an interest in witchcraft and such for a long while now but I had never known where to start with it. I really do want to learn more and possibly become skilled in my talent as far as witchcraft goes. I do have a very slight influence from my mother as she works with energy healing and cleansing of the chakras. If anyone has any advice for me about where to start and maybe even would be able to help me get going in this, I would greatly appreciate it.

GENERAL

These meanings spoke to me the most when researching. Please also be aware that Cards of Destiny and Cartomancy are not the same thing and the cards do hold different meanings so keep that in mind when learning about your birth cards. (I’m a 3 of Clubs!) Playing cards are a good alternative for those that don’t have the luxury of buying expensive tarot decks or are intimidated by tarot cards. However, if you do use tarot cards this guide will still assist you as tarot cards meanings are closely related to playing cards - they just have different names.
