This anon got the timing wrong. Jared signed the contract way before he went to RICC. Remember how they announced multiple “J&J & other projects” cons way before RICC? That’s because that contract was signed. Jared was able to slip RICC in because it fell before 2023. So his reasoning isn’t he hated RICC so much that he signed the new contract.

The rumor is that Jared wanted leave Creation, because let’s face it, they’re expensive. And he wanted his fans to have a cheaper experience. But Jensen begged him to stay then offered the “other projects” idea.

But, if true, even in that Jared gets screwed over. Because Jensen gets the TW cast added to multiple cons at once, and they piecemeal Jared’s “Walkerverse” members.

I don't know that the other anon is wrong. It could be a yearly contract so he'd perhaps signed the one for 2023 and was negotiating 2024. And I don't think Jared hated RICC at all, but it did give him an opportunity to experience how other conventions are handled, thereby providing more knowledge about what's out there. Either way, regardless of the reason, Jared decided to stick with Creation, so I guess my hopes of an appearance at FanX have shrunk. LOL!

As for Jared's getting screwed over? Eh, I'm not entirely sold on that. Yes, Jensen got TW cast added, but that could also be a scheduling issue. Let's face it, Walkerverse actors are more established in the industry and may have other projects that they're working on making it difficult to schedule conventions. Whereas TW cast... they're still new to the business and from what I've seen, may not be in very high demand, so, they likely have time to do more conventions.

What will be interesting to see is which casts end up attending conventions in the latter half of the year after renewal and cancelation announcements are made.

And I don't know if its new for him and that's maybe some novelty of it (I don't know if PLL did cons and if he got to attend them if they did so I don't know what his con experience is like). But he just seems happy to be there. It brings a very Jared energy - someone who seems to truly enjoy engaging with and meeting fans. I know its still a job and they're still getting paid but for many actors you can tell the ones who are only in it for the paycheck and the ones who seem happy to interact with fans. Some you can see their "con persona" turn on and off when they aren't on stage, doing ops, etc. And some just keep up that happiness and energy the whole time.

If only we could get an entire Walkerverse con with Keegan, Jared, and other Walker favorites, alongside the WIndy cast with Philemon, Katie, Kat, etc. We've already seen how appreciative many of them are towards the fans, and I know Kat enjoys conventions. What a fun trip that would be!
