It relays the importance and sincerity of sending mail through the post and the excitement and endearing feeling you get upon receiving mail. Also touches on the importance of the postal worker in helping people communicate and stay connected over distances. I love the ease and convenience of email but snail mail really feels special still to me. I always feel happy receiving a card or letter from someone because it means I was worth their time and effort. The illustrations are adorable- my kids loved all the little details.
