just remembered the first time i saw a metalocalypse clip, it was the scene where nathan was reading off the checklist for toki to go to that camp and got him a snow globe

and, with no prior knowledge of the show, just accepted that the plot of that sequence was that the band had adopted a normal adult man and were just so familially loving of him they even sent him to a summer camp to have fun

and i cannot believe that that is 100% what was happening

#i didnt understand there was a show so the only real inaccuracy was that i thought that was the entire plot of the movie #just the 4 other members of dethklok somehow adopting toki and then 1.5 hours of them being a nice family unit #timposting again #i cannot emphasize enough that this show has one of THE most engaging found family narratives ive ever watched im enthralled #especially bc they have a COLLECTIVE dad in charles and a BAND dad in nathan its such an interesting dynamic #and also bc the dynamic sorta developed organically and out of sequence yknow #like fatherklok where MURDERFACE was trying to FORCIBLY construct a fatherly dynamic and PICKLES was searching for a father figure #before pickles gradually became a parental figure in the group
