Q1. What’s your favourite colour?

Marius: In our society pink is seen as a girly colour but I think there are also guys who like the colour pink. I have many pink things such as t-shirts, scarves, sweaters and files. Recently I like black clothes too. My fashion changes every day depending on my mood but I have many black basics so I feel like putting some colour on. My old clothes were really flashy but now my style became a little bit cooler. But when I started wearing black more, those people who praised my flashy clothes asked me „Marius, what’s wrong?“ and I was a little bit shocked (laughing).

Fuma: It’s black. I tend to buy black clothes. Recently all my clothes are black, from top to bottom and I like that style. Baggy sarrouel pants fastened around the waist with a string that is hanging down and on top an oversized sweatshirt with a leather MA-1 jacket. I might have a lot of fashion like this.

Kento: It’s blue. It’s various kinds of blue, like blue-black, light blue, sky blue, deep blue, water blue and so on. The colour resembles my emotions. If my day feels like a blue sky, it will be a sad blue, on a rainy day it will be a rainy blue, maybe I’ll wear blue earrings (laughing). Blue is an essential colour In many settings and I like it.

Shori: I wonder if it’s black. I often wear black clothes and when I choose my own clothes for my solo songs I make them black. I like black velours material especially. Sometimes we wear many dark blue accessories and small additions so recently I also really like light blue. However I cannot really wear accessories in winter. I’ll feel cold with bracelets (laughing). Then I also love colourful colours. Surprisingly I like the English garden and my mind feels relieved while looking at flowers and nature.

Sou: It is black since a long time ago already. Because it’s a manly and cool colour and I can see it perfectly. There’s also a dark image and I’ve always liked anime and drama with dark themes. I also like black because of that. I think I also have many black clothes. But recently I tried challenging other colours too and I tried wearing a pink t-shirt and a parka. I also want to try wearing pink pants. Because I want to be a fashionable leader I want to try out many things (laughing)!

Q2. To which colour do you compare Sexy Zone’s group personality?

Marius: Rainbow colour. Everyone has a different character and colour so it looks like a rainbow. I am the young brother in the group who has a cute character. Although I will be 17 years old soon. It’s so quick, right!? It will be my sweet seventeen in March ♡

Fuma: It’s white. Because I think it’s the colour that can be stained with any other colour. We don’t really have an image yet. Of course I think for the fans we have a cute image but since in general we didn’t soak in a certain colour, it’s white! Recently the atmosphere of the group is good. Everyone aims for the same destination and there’s a feeling that we’re going in the same steps.

Kento: It’s silver. I think our next goal is the gold medal. For now, I have a plan for myself. I want to master it to some extent until I turn 26 years old and when I’m 26-29, I want to walk on the strongest line. So, my 30’s might be a little simple, so I will pursue the core parts. Working as a director I also want to write an emotional story. Because I like making stories.

Shori: We often get this question. I said various things until now so there isn’t any variation anymore (laughing). But I think it’s difficult to express ourselves in one colour. Because every one of us has their own strong colour, I wish we could become a new colour called Sexy Zone. Compared to the old days every one’s colour became deeper and from now on it will get even deeper. Even so, I think we can have a good balance and I think that each member is interesting. Because Sexy Zone is a free and accepting group, I think it’s okay if we become whatever colour.

Sou: The current Sexy Zone is burning with a red colour. Towards our 5th anniversary, I felt like each of us wanted to become popular. Although it may be impossible to reach in an instant, we will steadily bring out our charms while walking towards our goals. We had more opportunities to discuss everyone’s opinions, so new ideas were born.

Q3. Which colour describes your personality the best?

Marius: Eh, I can’t decide for one! So, let’s go with green. Green mixed from blue and yellow. The reason is because I don’t want to be one colour. I have blue parts too because I have a colourful side. Also, my member colour is orange! Because I like orange fruits I also like this colour.

Fuma: It’s black. A colour that cannot be stained by any other colour, that’s the meaning. To keep on living. Of course I am able to take in other people’s opinions but I wonder if my basic thinking will ever change. About my member colour, I wonder if it’s pointless. My seniors have successfully adopted to their member colour and have their image but in Sexy Zone except for me and Shori, it’s kind of scattered. Also because there is no pressure when saying „I want to do this colour“ or „I was glad to be blue“, I’m thinking wouldn’t that be better? Our true colours are gradually coming out, so I think it’s better to not set for one yet.

Kento: I think it’s red. After all I always continue burning. I never once thought that I don’t want to go on. That’s why maybe I can think positively forever. Maybe my dream is too big. Because my conclusion is already decided, there is no choice for me but to burn. Of course I also become negative sometimes. I don’t mind it. In these circumstances, I try to consult my friends about my worries. Sometimes I’m told that I’m like an idol robot, but I’m also human (laughing). After all my fans’ voices give me the most energy.

Shori: It’s green. Because I’m preparing a play currently, it’s green with a relaxing effect. Just by doing a different type of work my feelings change a little. By the way, during that time Sou and Marius came to visit the play. Because they had some spare time they were in my dressing room the whole time. So these two ended up fighting, I don’t remember the cause because it was something stupid (laughing). At that time Kishi (Yuta) was there too and he said „Continue fighting, it’s funny!“ while laughing.

Sou: It’s white. My goal for my teenage years is to have my own outlook on the world. Therefore I hope my colour will be ready in the following year. To achieve that I’m interacting a lot with my seniors, I want to steal a good point from them. I got a birthday text from my seniors Massu (Masuda Takahisa), Chinen (Yuri)-kun and Nika-chan (Nikaido Takashi) who I want to get closer to. By the way the first text was from Ohno (Satoshi)-kun. We were talking about Bruce Lee excitedly. I was also influenced by my dad who likes watching his videos so when I told him that I started doing Kyokushin karate, he said „I’m not satisfied, you have to study more“ and gave me advices (laughing).

Q4. What colour are you feeling right now?

Marius: Black. Various feelings were mixing up inside of me so it turned black. Although studying for school is fun it is also hard, I have an exam soon so I want to do my best. There are worries and things I’m thinking about so I ask friends for consultation but I’m troubled... They say ��Don’t worry!“ but I have worries so that’s not helpful! (laughing) When I see that a friend is in trouble I think I’d tell them „Yes, please talk!“. I’ll say something like „If you have something to talk about tell me, okay? It’s good to let it out“.

Fuma: I wonder if it’s black. (At the time this interview took place) I am wearing all black now, so I guess it’s black. When I get up in the morning and take a shower I think about „What should I wear today?“. That is really fun, I get excited! Today I’m wearing black crash skinny jeans and I decided everything else from that. These skinny jeans have a simple design but I wanted them for a long time so I treated myself a little. Even if it’s frustrating since the suitability is bad, I like it but I try not wear it too often (laughing).

Kento: I wonder if it’s grey. I was thinking about what will happen to the world from now on and also I have a stuffy nose, so my heart that has been pure white before turned a little grey!? (laughing) Recently while seeing a lot of dark news, I was thinking about how well off I am. So the theme of Arashi’s concert „Are you Happy?“, I thought that was nice, I was really impressed.

Shori: It’s cliched but I wonder if it’s pink. If speaking about LOVE it’s pink! When falling in love, I think I’m the type of person who is hard to understand. It won’t really show on my face or my mood. But secretly my heart is pink (laughing).

Sou: Golden! In the play in which Shori appears, „Johnnys’ All Stars Island“, when the curtains open, it is a happy feeling so it’s golden. However, I am a little worried. I wonder if his physical condition is okay and since he’s alone in his dressing room I wonder if he feels lonely. Because Shori likes mineral water, the next time I go I think I’ll make him a hydrogen kit and put it there. Well, but I think he will feel the most refreshed and he will recover fast if he sees me there ♪

Q5. Which colour expresses your feelings when falling in love?

Marius: I wonder if it’s rainbow colours. When I’m in love, I think that it won’t be only one colour. Because a lot of feelings will mix together. Happiness, joy, fun, sadness when saying bye bye and such things. When I get excited my heart will turn pink and when I’m lonely it will turn blue.

Fuma: Pink. It’s cliched (laughing). When I fall in love, I think I’m the type who is excited and motivated all the time. I’ll think about my partner all the time and I won’t be able to study and work properly, things like that. I’ll definitely have fun every day, so it’s always going to be pink!

Kento: Pink-red.When I love someone, I really only think about them. I think I’m the type who really works hard for romance. So, red is an intense colour because my dates will also be intense and long♡ Pink is because I will say sweet words. However, I have decided that I’ll never put my lover on any SNS. Because I think our relationship will go by too fast. I also wrote about this in an university essay.

Shori: I don’t really think I’m an amorous person. Regarding my appearance, nothing in particular will change. I will use polite words and I will talk in a calm way, so I feel like I’m looking for that in a girl too.

Sou: I’m the type who will turn blue even if I have a person I like. Rather than feeling merry, the feeling of insecurity will be bigger, so I’ll always be blue. I’ll be thinking about what if they might not fit with me and I’ll become frustrated. But right now I have many things that I want to do so there is no word called romance for me. Therefore in terms of a current colour, I’m colourless!

Q6. What is a sexy woman to you?

Marius: Someone who wears different fashion every day, someone who can show me a different side and I think someone stylish. I think that is the image of a sexy woman to me. When you always wear something casual but you dress up for a party or date. That would be pretty. But when it’s an ordinary date, you can wear damaged jeans and a hat since I like casual girls.

Fuma: I love sexy women. I’d like to date a sexy girl. Because I want us to become a cool and sexy couple. A girl who feels sexy about herself, the gesture of her going through her hair and a husky voice. Then, the best would be if she also has something cute about her like a pleasant smile.

Kento: I guess a sexy woman for me is someone who improves herself. For me, ZARD’s Sakai Izumi-san is the strongest woman but she also constantly improves herself while writing lyrics. I think people who pursue something in life are sexy. Because I do well when I’m intuitive and find a balance, I often don’t pursue everything. That’s why if you’re a craftsman who wishes to be an actor, don’t be affected if you look at other actors.

Shori: I don’t know myself. However, when Sexy Zone gathered their colours I wish we could be together. Me and the group are inseparable since we think about the same things. When I think about the things I want to do, I wonder if the group wants to do it too. We haven’t really decided the member colours. I am red and Fuma-kun is purple but the others are free. So I think our fans also have a say in it. It is unusual for a group to not have decided on their member colours. Maybe it’s bothersome for lineups!? (laughing) (t/n: I literally don’t know why Shori avoided the actual question, maybe the mag mixed up some answers accidentally?)

Sou: A woman like Oguro Maki-san who was with us at „Music Station“. When the five of us were greeting her she said „It’s okay to greet me informally~“ and I was really shocked. When someone goes through their hair, I think that is sexy and cool. Because I like boyish girls I feel like I’ll find it sexy if she’s a cool girl.

Q7. Please tell us something recent!

Marius: I’m doing my best while studying for school. I like what I’m learning so it’s fun. On my free day I went to see the new „Harry Potter“ series with Sou-chan. Because of work, Sou-chan arrived there at the last minute so I bought popcorn for him in advance. I like caramel and Sou-chan likes salty popcorn ♪ The story was interesting and their world view was wonderful. I want to see it again. The magic world is really cool. Also, because there’s a Harry Potter play in London right now, I think I want to go see it. It’s so fun just thinking about what kind of play it could be!

Fuma: Goro-chan (Takeuchi Ryoma’s role) who was together with me in the drama „Toki wo kakeru shoujo“ contacted me. He invited me for a meal but sadly I couldn’t go. Since we haven’t met recently, everyone from the cast wants a reunion. Even before this at „Best artist 2016“ when NEWS were singing „Koi wo shiranai kimi he“, the images from our drama were showing in the background. I felt like crying when I saw it during rehearsal. When I listen to that song I remember my feelings of those days, our laughter while we were talking and the summer-like smell. But I have to keep moving on, so next I’m going to be a hacker in the drama „Uso no sensou“!

Kento: I was walking my pet dog Bonita and when I arrived at a place where I could release her (from the leash) and I took the lead I was impressed that she was following me obediently! I was like „good girl ♪“ and I was so happy (laughing). Because I was able to see various flowers as I took a walk, I took pictures and it felt good to be in the sun. I also found a popular udon restaurant that I didn’t know about. Taking a walk is such a nice thing to do.

Shori: I went for a meal with (Fujii) Ryusei. Since it was cold we ate nabe and talked about blond hair. Ryusei was like „I have an image of blond hair because for my roles I have always been blond. Isn’t that cool?“ (laughing). When I said „You’re bragging, you’re bragging~“, he said „I’m not bragging, but isn’t that cool?“. Although Ryusei is older than me, he’s kind of cute (laughing). He’s a really nice person and I was able to relax together with him.

Sou: I got a birthday present from the members. It was headphones that I wanted since forever. Since Shori’s 20th birthday we made it a custom to give only one present from the four of us. But from Kenty (Kento) personally I got a pen. Because I’ve been told that I’m skilful in writing, he said „Since this pen came with a certificate, you can make good use of it at work“. Marius’ family also gave me a ball-point pen, so from now on I’ll do my best to write beautiful characters!
