I fucking loathe dog rescues tbh
they are often kind of sketch and they are so fucking tightfisted with animals. They are being shitty about letting my mom adopt a dog because she’s 70 years old and think she’s “too old” to adopt. Seriously! She has a lovely house, is in good health, is retired, has been a licensed pet sitter, is asking to adopt breeds she has raised before, is willing to pay their fucking ridiculous fees of up to like $600, and they’re like, “sorry, you’re too old.”

they would never give me the time of day because I’m poor. I got Ernie from the shelter, my other two dogs I had before him, Charley and Bobo, were headed to the shelter if I hadn’t stepped in an adopted. Rescues are just... ugh. I honestly feel like they’re run by control freaks who have a God complex and the “foster parents” are just people who don’t really want to give up the pets tbh
