For the anon looking for rwby youtubers: I just discovered murder of birds and I’m obsessed with him. Good vibes, and he also does reaction and theory videos. He did a video on Bumbly which was basically him saying “if people wanna ship bees that’s cool, idc, but if ur hate watching what’s the point?”

He doesn’t really ship but he has good opinions. I like him a lot

I’m so embarrassed that I’m answering this so late. But yeah Arnold is good vibes, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a reactor go through so many emotions all at once while watching RWBY like he does.

im not gonna lie, I was briefly one of those people who thought Winter was gonna go hang with Salem. But once it was stated that it was gonna be Yang's group that went into the Whale, I decided against that. But what's interesting to me is seeing blogs that were on board with Winter and Salem are the same blogs that are reblogging "oh it's ridiculous that you even thought that." It's like, don't backtrack. I remember ur the one who introduced me to that theory. (you as in the blog not YOU)

Well, there’s two sides for this. There are people who might’ve changed their mind, and I can’t fault people for making mistakes. For that matter, everyone makes mistakes, myself included, and I definitely don’t fault you (both you specifically and anyone who reads this) for making them. It’s not even that big of a deal to make wrong predictions about a show we watch, at the end of the day. I don’t want to make this a puritan thing were we only value people who were 100% right in every single post they ever made.

At the same time, if you’re proven wrong and you can’t admit to it, you only dig your hole deeper and start throwing around the blame unjustly - that’s just a shitty thing to do. Calling people fascist supporters for accurately understanding a character facing a difficult moral choice is making the right one... yeah that kind of behavior deserves some apology or recognition.

Unfortunately too many people’s mindsets in this particular fandom is often “someone disagrees with me? they must be morally wrong”, which only escalates things further.

Personally, I try to avoid blogs that do that. I want to have fun, and I like discussing the shows and topics I like - and an inherent part of that is knowing that myself and the people I talk to will say and stand by dumb shit. If you don’t have the humility to say “I was wrong”, what you’re really after is the validation of “being right”, and that’s snobbery as far as I’m concerned.

its fine tbh. life has gotten so much easier since i realized that no one is ever going to have a wholly accurate view of you, and they dont need to. i like their blog well enough that im still gonna follow them, but i dont think i have to respond to every comment on that post. i havent been in the fandom for years, but i sure have reblogged thousands of homestuck posts, so its fair to see that as my top tag and go “literally how did you not know this?”

37. What is your OC’s biggest dream?

Ruth’s not really a dreamer. In the vault, he never really needed to. His life was set out before him. He did as he was told and he didn’t ask any questions. In the wasteland, Ruth’s just trying to make it through to the next day. It’s not that he struggles with the wasteland itself (which he does), but the main antagonist to the story is his own head. Getting out of bed is a chore, and one that seemingly gets harder and harder. I guess you could say his dream is to be in the right headspace to be able to have one.

38. How does your OC react to and handle stress?

Chems. Drinking. Good old Dad never really taught Ruth how to handle stress. James was always really busy, what with Alphonse Almodovar hanging over his shoulder. It’s not like James meant to blow Ruth off, but Ruth’s childhood problems didn’t seem so important to James compared to what he had going on. He listened, but he never heard. So the moment Ruth tumbles out of the vault and the first John with a pretty face offers him some med-x to take the edge off, he takes it gladly with a swallow of scotch, and the vice took.

39. How does your OC handle anger?

Ruth doesn’t really experience anger? He gets irritated, sure, but he never gets angry- he just gets sad. He blames everything on himself, so the only person he can get mad at is himself, but there’s something wrong with him, so he just gets sad, and it’s a vicious cycle of self-hatred he has to work through.

40. How does your OC handle grief?

Ruth more or less shuts down. He tries to continue on with life as normal, as if nothing happened, but the grief is suffocating, and his body goes on autopilot. He’ll lose weeks to drugs and if someone’s not there to grab his hand, he’ll drown. 

41. What is your OC’s greatest fear?

When Ruth was in the vault? The surface. Ruth never wanted to go outside. Everyone told him it was a horrible, desolate place, and why should he not believe them? The day he was forced to leave 101 was the scariest day of his life not only because his entire world was flipped upside down, but because he had to face his greatest fear with his community holding a gun to his head. Now? Like, dogs.

Unlimited meatpies at Gary’s.

38. How does your OC react to and handle stress?

She doesn’t. Anything that gives her stress? It doesn’t exist anymore. It’s a person? She’ll stab them until they go away. No stress, only vibes.

39. How does your OC handle anger?

Stabbing. Screaming. Destruction. Your typical 8 year old temper tantrum but the child is unkillable and has a bowie knife.

40. How does your OC handle grief?

I legitimately have no idea. There’s two ways it could go: either she becomes a mass murderer who kills everyone in her path, or she pretends that person or thing no longer existed.

41. What is your OC’s greatest fear?

Nothing, and has the confidence to back it up. She’s been shot in the face, she’s fallen off the Rivet City flight deck, she should be YOUR greatest fear.

Speaking of being stabbed in the abdomen with a spear of fire, why hasn’t the fact that Weiss was stabbed a couple months back been brought up yet? Will it be at all? Also what did Ruby get from the gift shop 😭😭

I think at this point the Weiss stabbing isn't really relevant enough to be brought up specifically. It's kind of just lumped in with all the other reasons our protagonists hate Cinder. Though I do wish it was brought up like Blake's scar at some point.

As for the gift, we have an answer! Ruby bought friendship bracelets! I think it was either at RTX last year or another interview where it was said.

Hey so I just saw your post about transfems and how nb communities use a lot of masc language. I use guys, and man as gender neutral terms. Am I harming transfems by using that language?

big question! and one i can’t actually answer with a lot of authority because transfem opinions on subjects like this can vary a lot. i wouldn’t say you’re inherently harming us, though you should be considerate when ur around transfems and ask if they’re okay with that kind of language before using it. also sidenote “man” is definitely not a gender neutral term even if you use it as one

What’s skip beat?

OH MY FRIEND I’M GLAD YOU ASKED

Skip Beat is a shoujo manga created in 2002 by Yoshiki Nakumura. It stars 16 year old Kyoko Mogami who followed her childhood friend and unrequited crush, Sho Fuwa, to Tokyo to support his dreams of becoming a famous musician. Only after realizing that Sho is a selfish piece of shit who was using her for free labor and rent, she vows to become an actor even more famous than he is to crush him under her heel and watch him beg for forgiveness. And maybe figure out why fellow actor Ren Tsuruga seems to dislike her so much. 

It is, without exaggeration, my favorite manga in existence. DO you want a complex and fleshed-out female lead? Kyoko Mogami is the best of them. Do you want female friendships that are built upon and varied? Skip Beat’s got them. Do you want a love interest that has a sad past but isn’t a total fucking asshole using his pain as an excuse to be a dick? Ren fucking Tsuruga. Do you just want a good plot about a woman working her way through the acting industry and engaging in wacky hi-jinks? Look no further. 

And honestly if I can sell you on anything, it’s the humor and Kyoko Mogami. This woman is insane and I love her desperately. There is not a single chapter that goes by where she isn’t putting the biggest, stupidest smile on my face.
