“From what I can tell, it maintained wireless transmissions of data between the unit and command console. But I’ve made a few improvements since then. Installed some new hardware that rendered the old one obsolete, got rid of the internal systems so it’s just a rod now.

Probably should have gotten rid of it ages ago, to be honest but..
