1ST BRAINSTORM

This here is a brainstorm of me outlining my initial ideas to the 6 mediums given. 

I started off with the medium that I naturally went towards first which was illustration. I chose illustration first because over the summer I began to do digital illustration on my iPad through the app called procreate and now cannot get off. I watched numerous amounts of YouTube videos on it and have built up a real skill on it. With this in mind I commenced my initial ideas through the medium illustration. 

As you can see I scribbled my thoughts down onto paper before doing anything else. My first thoughts on my animation was the idea of a doggy daycare advertisement with the use of the kennels. I thought about perhaps putting a tail on top of the kennels to give the kennels more personalisation for each dog. I could personalise the kennels to each breed of the dog in different sizes and styles depending on the dogs breed.

I then went onto my second idea of a dinosaur tail knocking down buildings for a demolition company. It seems silly but going back to the words tail and property It worked quite well. A dinosaur running through the streets of a a neighbourhood knocking down a property. Not silly at all.

Moving onto sound I knew this would have been a very tricky medium. I have never played with sound before and I was wondering and am still wondering whether I would be breaking the rules if i were to go down the route of using sound waves but I will get onto that very soon. My commencing idea is to go to a construction site where they are building a property and collect the different noises from there on my phone. For a tail, or an animals tail that is I could record the sound of a dogs tail wagging.

I was excited to start generating ideas for colour because over the years I have realised I have a real love for colour palettes. Whether thats to do with the interior of a house or the palette used in an editorial it doesn't matter where it is or how its used. I started by using the colours of dogs tails as a beginning point. I thought it was necessary to perhaps use the idea from my animation and illustration to help build my colour concept. I struggled to think about what I could use for my concept of colour for to link to the subject of a property, that being a building or a property of someone's. I then thought about the external materials of an actual building and am probably going to start looking into the different material you can use to build a house with. Or any building for the matter.

As for type I thought about a project I did in the past where I had to find type within the environment around me. Within this project I found type easily in buildings around me so I might link that with the medium type ands if I can create a whole typeface out of letters I find in buildings.

Moving onto photography I linked the idea of a demolition company with this medium because I want to visualise what a dinosaur would look like running around knocking down buildings.

Moving on from this I am going to start drawing out some sketches starting with dog kennels.
