Bio! Dad Strange Part 9

Jason returns, may be a 2 parter to cover tim getting kidnapped and the aftermath. Will let you know at the end. We are getting to Marinette dealing with Ladybugging soon.

Marinette wasnt sure what to think this year. She met The Barry Allen last year. She also figured out 2 heroes pre-flash revelation and two more after—in her defense Hero Stalker’s old theory on The first Robin did Batman in. it is not her fault 5 founding members have the multiple-persona game of a booger.

She was also Tetch (Mad Hatter. Doesnt deserve the name) and Mr. J’s, Jerimah’s, last victim before they died. Then some idiots revived Jerimah. She hates his cult a lot, okay.

Everyone was on high alert and trying to keep her inside. The thing is, she hates being inside. She’s inside for designing, sure. Research? She’ll live.

But 24/7 inside time?

Never a good combo with her.

Rose’s plants may be snitches, but they seemed to agree on the over coddling. She’s ten, can break phones by tapping them, and is defiantely more off her stickers than on at the moment.

The one on her was uring her into some alleyway. If she was reading the movement pattern right, a gang fight.

Lovely, she usually did these with some sort of supervision but they were all being rude and she needed time outside.

She checked her belt, a few pairs of ball weights tied together with one chain each to make bolas clipped to back. She has a taser in hand, and a few rubber bullet loaded gun on one hip and a stun gun her size in the other. She had a packet of zipties and rope up each sleeve. Easy to giftwrap and humiliate bad people, like Batman does.

She blinked once when she saw—new player? In a bright red full face helmet that looks horrible. And he’s holding that gun make all wrong to max out usage. Ugh, amatuers.

Some part of her groaned about a potential run-in with Batman and his new Robin—she was pissed about Tim not telling her still—and decided this was as good an anger management as any. New vigilante, maybe the sirens would help him find a team.

She snuck up behind a few members, quick to grab the guns and move them out of reach. No need to give anyone playing possum an easy out, right—she saw a mix of her people in with the gang. She needed to teip this guy up before he hurt the RKC street kids and honoraries tangled up in this.

“Hey helmet, if you’re gonna shoot them you’re holding the gun wrong.”

Helmet turned to see her. She didnt grab her usual harley-knock off outfit for helping today. She wanted to be Pixie Pop for a bit. And if the Rogues forgot that she’s Pixie well, better for her, right? Pixie just wore her hair like Tinkerbell and wore a bit of green.

The guy he was aiming at made to run.

Marinette grabbed a makeshift bolas and threw it at his knees. She recognized him from one of the RKC hit lists—human trafficker. He fell with them wrapped around tight and defiantely injured bith his knees with how the weights hit him.

“I, Pixie Pop?” Weird, no one had seen her as Pixie in two years. How’d he know it was her?

“Yeah. Havent been around much lately.” She threw another bola at another guy. “You new?”

“Talk after i kill these guys.”

Marinette rolled her eyes, because really?

She threw a knife to screw his aim into non-lethal on one guy. “Kick their ass first, some RKC are in here.”

Helmet oddly did as she said, switching from guns to—is that. A. Sword?

She twisted to punch the guy sneaking up on her. Helmet threw a sword and landed it in his shoulder.

“Thanks!”

“Holy shot you’re really here this time.”

“Did you get hit with feargas as a baby or something?” Her partner being prone to dellusions and good with weapons was a bad thing.

“Just came back from the dead is all.”

marinette hit the guy going for helmet with her stun gun.

“That’ll do it!”

Helmet turned to one of the guys, gun at the ready. She had a feeling Helmet needed a lot of help, or else one of Rose’s agents would be down.

“If you know about pixies, you should know she got an upgrade to having some trust dust.”

Marinette walked over to the guy, letting her tracker plant take a look. The flower bloomed and he got a face full of ‘filter-less pollen’ that’s as close to a truth serum as Rose could make. After all, people can turn sides.

“Truth pollen?” Helmet was staring at her closely.

“Yep.” Marinette turned to her victim. “Are you helping the traffickers?”

“Does infiltration and killing them count as helping?”

Helmet stared at them then.

“Which team?”

“HKT ma’am. How did you get rose to give you one of those?”

“Think for a minute who she gives these to.”

“Comanding officers of the the RKC reconn and interigation but there’s only 15 and i met them all when i joined in the fall.”

“Im the summer help when theyre not puppy gaurding. Now, i have to do zipties on the traffickers, think you can help?”

“I lost coordination from the pollen.”

“Of course you did.”

Marinette turned to see Helmet staring at her. Like she should be dead, not the new revival guy.

“Good enough.”

“I thought only Poison Ivy could do things like that.”

“I have a badass team, well, when they aren’t going overboard. One week kidnapped and suddenly im made of glass.”

“Pixie you are what, ten?”

“So? Two of my best friends went missing becuase no one stepped up, one of them resurfaced as an idiot a year later but still.”

Helmet stopped then. “Two?”

“Hero stalker went after our big brother vanished.. he came back as an idiot.”

Helmet paused. “Hey, you check the others and i’ll help you drop off the good ones at a doctor or something.”

“Zipties are at the ready. Mind doing your share?”

Helmet did as she asked, working with her until all was squared away.

“Okay, my tracker gave off a signal to the RKC to gather our guys here, and—why are bleeding?”

Helmet looked up at her then. “I am?”

“... you’re coming with me since i dont know if you need a transfusion, but i know a guy who can help.”

“I’m driving.”

“On what?”

“Motorcycle.”

Marinette let him walk her to it, and she got on first. He ‘drove’ them while the plant told her when to turn. They ended up at her dad’s clinic as ‘Mr. Smith’. He was so grounding her.

“Smith, i need help,” she tried.

Her dad came out and paled when he saw her carrying Helmet. Before he passed out he let her take it off. “Red hoodie... oh god he said he was revived.”

Her father worked out the blood bags while she checked the wound, bullet still in there. She got it out with tweezers. No major damage to the muscles and shit. How many scars did he have? Pre or post revival?

When he came to she turned to her father and said one thing.

“So this is my new brother. Dont try to get out of it, he kept me alive when i was comstantly pixie, and you said if he was in a bad place then you’d take him in, no questions asked.”

Strange sighed, nodded, and went back to fixing Helmet up.

The next day he was forced moved into an extra room by hers. Somehow there was already clothes his size and style in it.

“Pixie...”

“Im determined and my honorary aunt is a cat burglar.”

Helmet hugged her.

“So for the documents, what do you want to go by?”

Helmet said he didnt want it to be obvious, given who he was before.

“Its not like you were robin.”

“I was.”

“.... i know two robins now, pre-robining. What is my life?”

“ you are ten, calm down. And you knew dick?”

“Met him as Nightwing, not very friendly. But uh, remember hero stalker?”

“The idiot who followed me and B?”

“Yeah, so funny thing, it was a thing that he wanted to be Robin when you went off from Gotham, and then he somehow managed to convince bats to take him on.”

“That Child is Robin.”

“Will be another hero soon if he knows what’s good for him—he’s too easy to make.”

“Wait, you know who he is-is or—”

“I know 5 secret identities and want to lodge a formal complaint about heroes having no secret identity game.”

“Youre ten. I refuse to let you deal with legal things.”

“But illegal is still on the table?”

“I am a vigilante, of course it is.”

“Good, so can we tlak about how dumb Supes secret id is? I photoshoped glasses on as a joke and looked at my file and knew.”

“Wait have they found you yet?”

“No? I dont think so. Not the mom and step dad or father one yet.”

“But its.”

“I know, but i can keep multiple secret identities. They cant handle one. What is this bull they drop in my lap? No masks for two of them, and the three with cant even manage a basic gait switch?”

“I am so glad you noticed too.”

“Also we need to intervene with Hero Stalker.”

“Does your father know-know or...”

“Knows i know, but knows im not telling even in death.”

“Fair. So, heads up i am going to yell at the JL after killing B for impact.”

“How about beating him up instead and kidnapping Hero Stalker? Bats is fine just needs an adult working with him.”

“Maybe. If my mind wasnt so fucked i’d send the Dick a text or something about this, but i think he hates me so that probably wouldnt work.”

“We have planning time, that’s what my house arrest is good for. Now name.”

“James work?”

“Sure.”

Race: Dark elf from the Oldwood clan

Magic type: Untamed magic

Kingdom of orgin: Elvyndale (currently sequestered at sylvan glade)

Blaire is one of a Ancient elven bloodline. Once upon a time known for their powerful magic, and for being children of the moon. but after an unfortunate event that era has ended for them. though its on the hush-hush. Shhhhhhsh~

They are characteristically Elegant, classy, beautiful, snobby, high class people. theyre blessed by the moon its withing their right to be goregeous and perfect!

But not Blair....He gave up on that charade the second he realized he lost his mother.

He vaugely knew of the curse when he was little. the grownups never stopped talking about how at this rate the oldwood clan were going to loose their gift entirely. All because of some vampire with anger management issues.

Blaire was playing with his dolls in the corner while his Mother and his aunts and uncles came up with a plan. the vampire was probably still alive out there and if they found her, they could stop the curse. either force her to undo it, or kill her if need be. because a bloodline that once held legendary power was reduced to common spellcastery within barely 3 generations!

the next night they were gone. Blaire remembers the last time his mother tucked him into bed, saying she was going on a “little adventure” and she was coming right back.

You can probably predict how that ended...

After their parents vanished forever Granny, the only family they had left. quicly scooped them up and suquestered them away to sylvan glade. a cozy little realm protected by a magical tree. Nobody of ill intent can get in.

So it was just, Granny, Blaire, Blair’s sister. and cousins. sheltered and comfortable in the glade, one would think. 

But Blaire is a restless spirit. he would insist on sneaking out and playing with commoners or being in places he had ABSOLUTELY NO BUISNESS being in.

Granny hoped he would grow out of it but unfortunately for his poor grandmother, hes just like that.

you see Blaire just wants to live his life, because theres something granny doesnt know, he knows... He found a letter, probably in his preteen years. It was adressed to his grandmother, from one of his uncles. They had found the vampire witch they were looking for, excited about the prospect of ending the curse. 

p.s. at the bottom said, “dont tell the kids until we get back, we want to surprise them” blaire was excited too. So he played along, and waited for mommy and his uncles to return.

Summer went by

fall went by

winter...

spring........

To this day the cousins an his sister think theyre possibly just out there still hunting the vampire, and theyre gonna come get them all out of the glade some day. that the Oldwoods will return to Elvyndale in all their reclaimed glory!

But Blaire...Blaire knows....

and hes not gonna wait for something impossible to happen in order to be happy and have fun. To hold up some pristine image that isnt anything but an illusion now.

Why wait?

becuase he can dissapear too.... Especially if that witch ever decided to oficcially end the moonchildren for good.

So yeah he likes to run off and dance with the commoners, snag a couple fruit from the market without paying, sneak out of the glade for Just long enoughhhh to worry poor granny. watch the moon fade away as the sun rises....

while a boombox blares in the background. 

Why granny decides to send him off to a ball to impress a gorgeous prince is beyond  him, but hes thrilled already. a WHOLE NEW KINGDOM to explore! and not a chance vampire lady can be found there. Also he could potentially hook a new husband, which is like, WOW...or y’know, if not, maybe get lucky enough for a kiss on the cheek or just being buddies. he’ll settle for that too.

Sidenote: Granny is secretly hoping she can send her grandchildren off to other kingdoms, in positions where they will be safe and have the resources to remain so. Blaire is first because of the fact hes hard for her to keep track of, and Dornne is a nice kingdom from what shes heard. Blaire isnt so dense that he wont catch on if he thinks about it for a few minutes.

Something changed after Jan 2014. Harry changed. Jeff more in the picture. Enter Kendall still hanging by. Minimal Larry interaction. Something happened. Harry's entire look and persona changed. I always thought it was the time that Harry matured and wasn't naive or wide eyed anymore.. More closed off before cameras. Maybe Larry also had some fights, obviously like any couple. What are your thoughts about it??

ok 2014. I've been meaning to make a masterpost about this so thanks for the question.

So 2014 was the Where We Are tour, and the boys were all severely overworked and it SHOWS. Niall lost weight, Louis and Harry both look starved, and Zayn is horrifyingly skinny.

They look on the verge of passing out during this entire interview especially Harry and Zayn.

Zayn was ~rumored to be~ struggling with a drug problem and anorexia during this time, and dealing with his own range of drama but I'll keep this on Harry/Larry.

Obviously an easy explaination for the decreased Larry interaction is that they were broken up. And its very possible they are/were an on again/off again couple and 2014 could have been an "off" period but 2014 is also when

Harry got the anchor corresponding with Louis' rope (January)

Harry gets the heart (February) and Louis gets the arrow (March)

The christ-the-redeemer trip where Harry and Louis are heard kissing in the bread van and this picture is taken where they seem like theyre holding hands (May)

Harry goes to Jay's wedding (July) and holds onto the wedding bracelet all the guests had for the rest of the year, even after it broke.

Louis gets the dagger (November).

Harry sings "Night Changes" directly at Louis during both the Graham Norton Show and the Royal Variety Show (December).

There are a lot of little things/speculation in between but these are the big things I think definitely prove they were still more or less "together" throughout the year. The months we saw virtually no Larry interaction at all were from end of May to End of October, with the major exception being Harry publicly attending Louis' mom's wedding.

It kind of seems like the wedding was a big deal to management (even though I don't think the fandom saw it as proof of anything as much as they were happy to see it happen). But it kind of seems like Louis and Harry had to pay the price for this one because there was a big eleanor presence in the month or so leading up to it whereas before she was barely seen all year apart from one publicized ski trip in February before WWA kicked off. But from the 1st of June until Jay's wedding on the 20th of July, she and Louis were papped twice in paris and once in portugal, she went to 5 or so concerts, she was spotted leaving his hotel twice, she was spotted eating lunch with Louis and Lottie, Louis attended her graduation, Louis took her out for her birthday, and *drumroll please* it was announced Eleanor would be Jay's maid of honor (she was actually just a bridesmaid so they played that one up for the media).

They also brought Paige back breifly in the days leading up to and after the wedding with her posting pics of herself in Harry's clothes on instagram, them attending a party together, them going out to lunch with jeff and the mirror reporting they were dating again.

Meanwhile apart from the stunting, the fandom as a whole was FREAKING TF OUT over the video that was "leaked" at the end of May of Louis and Zayn smoking weed (coincidendally two days after the European leg of WWA had started) and we were being bombarded with articles about bad boy Louis and Zayn, and how perfect 🥰 harry 👼🏼 was 😱 totally 😵 offended 👎🏼 and 😤 against 🙅🏻‍♂️ Louis 😖 and Zayn's 👿 drug addict 🤢 ways 😒.

This wasn't the first time we saw articles about Louis and Harry no longer being friends, but this was definitely a new angle that started to separate Harry and Louis because of an actual reason and it was the beginning of Harry's image being separated from the other boys.

As far as Kendall goes, Hendall seems to have wrapped up in Februrary and then she disappeared for the rest of the year in typical Harry-stunt fashion. Nothing strange there. And when he did hang out with her Jeff was always there. Harry's most prominent "relationship" in 2014 was actually Nadine which didn't even start until December.

Jeff and Harry were definitely attatched at the hip right from the beginning of January for sure. It's not unlike Harry to be like this with new friends though, and he was the same way with Grimmy during the years before.

Jeff is a special case too becuase he's very connected in the industry so I think Harry felt safe with him and it might have comforted Harry to have someone like that he could trust looking out for him. I think Jeff was maybe helping him navigate his way around the utter PR nightmare that was his public image too. He certainly had a lot less "womanizing" stunts in 2014. Jeff might have even been talking to him about taking a break from the band, since 2014 is supposedly when Harry suggested hiatus.

As far as Harry's "look" goes he's literally been changing it every single year. 2010-2011 was baggy pants abercrombie and jack wills. 2011-2012 was the blazers and bowties and the fetus harry hair. 2013 was take me home/fratboy harry. headscarf harry was 2013-2014 until he started wearing those fedoras, then that was his look for a while as his hair grew out and he started wearing the unbuttoned shirts and took on a more hipster/rockstar aesthetic. then he started with the floral shirts and the skin tight jeans leading up to the floral suits and it went from there. Like I said it's never been weird for Harry to completely change his look in a whim. We literally have grandpa harry now.

His persona changed too but really it's not that strange considering he was entering is 20s, 2013 had been hell for him and Louis, he was so overworked that he was probably getting burnt out on the positive side of his life (making music and performing) and starting to resent the negative side of it even more.

As far as being more closed off in interviews, he was probably sick of them since they all ask the same questions and there wasn't much he could say that he hadn't already said. At this point if he'd been in a relationship with Louis for four years then he wouldn't have many anecdotes or side interests that didnt involve Louis or their private life on some level so he might not have had much to talk about. Try to avoid saying "my boyfriend" when you're talking about your life after you've been together for years and years, it's not easy. And he obviously learned the hard way that every thing he says on camera will follow him forever so I think he forced himself to stay quiet rather than risk letting something slip.

In my opinion, overall things weren't really that odd during most of 2014 until november/december when they started Four promo. They were touring most of the year so their lives were pretty out of the spotlight apart from the occasional stunting and Harry hanging out with Jeff in his free time. The changes we saw were typical of someone his position.

I think there were some power struggles behind the scenes based off their little rebellions during WWA ("i have a secret", refusing to deny larry twice when asked directly if there were rumors they wanted to clear up) and 2014 is when RBB started (though i think it was just for fun at the time). Jeff might have been encouraging Harry to stand up for himself against his management or at least teaching him that he didn't have to take everything lying down and he did actually have some leverage.

Jeff also might even have been priming him to go solo and if Louis and the boys suspected Harry was being eyeballed for a solo break out there might have been some tension and I'm sure Louis at least thought that's what was going on. But I don't think it's something they would have broken up over considering at the end of the day Louis has always been supportive of Harry.

I will say that 2015 was one crisis after another though and i think at the end of 2014 we saw that ball start rolling because all the boys looked strung out for the majority of Four promo and Harry was kind of being rebellious as far as maintaining his hetero image with comments like "not that important" and "dont knock it til you try it".

Anyways thats my thoughts on it. I am intoerested to know what you think changed though ?

OH yeah absolutely!!!!!!!! omg i dont even know where to start its like. a hazy dream kind of ahdgkajsd i got there like three hours early because i still had to sell two tickets (which i ended up selling on site luckily) and because there was a bunch of fan events planned with fansites handing out banners and other stuff of the sort. i also ended up meeting some people who i had met the day before and we just. hung out and everyone was playing nct music and having a dance off and it was just nice atmosphere :( i got two banners (even though one of them ended up being confiscated because it was too solid and apparently the venue was very iffy about that) one of them was for welcoming mark back home it was really cute and im so impressed with people who print these in masses because they were super nice quality. anyway im drifting off ahgsd so once i was inside which was quite early? because i was ahead in queue i queued up for the merch line which was pointless since the stuff was sold out super fast and the concert was starting and the queue was still really really long so i ended up just going to my seat!!!!!!! which was third row floor KJHDGASJHD i still…cant believe how lucky i got with my ticket. the girl next to me was the person i sold my other ticket to and she was super friendly and we chatted away until it actually started and once the lights went dark everyone got up from their seats and then it was just. yeah. a dream. i cant even explain how many things i felt i was shaking and i was sort of just. in shock. and then they came on one by one and GKJZUA(OSÖKLDJNBAHVSGDZZUÜAPSIÖLDj, god I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN they performed a cherry bomb remix first and i tried to film some of the stages but i also wanted to enjoy the moment for most of them so i tried to keep the filming at a minimum. but i still sorta needed proof that. that happened??!?!? and i was THERE?!?!?!? fucking hell. also. had i filmed the whole way through the following wouldnt have happened. they were performing summer 127 and during that stage they always have their baskets with signed balls that they throw into the crowd and………………………..taeil was standing by our side of the stage and he SAW MME HE WAS LOOKING AT ME AND THANK FUCK I WASNT HOLDING MY PHONE BECUASE SUDDENLY HE WAS TOSSING ME HIS BALL AND I WAS LIKE ?!?!=!)=“!(/§=)”I!GEUIO”KUEHBSJDSADn ,mNBD SNABD AND THEN IT WAS IN MY HANDS. SCREAM….no words could describe my love for nct im fucking telling you…….my heart is so full just talking about it. they seriously gave their everything for every stage it was SO high energy and i totally expected them to be at least a little bit fatigued considering the amount of cities they already visited at that point but??? no hints of that. none. they were super chatty at the ments and i know its their job and all but theyre just. so professional and bright and oh my god let me tell you JUNGWOO was so smiley the whole time :( and every members expression lit up whenever they noticed fans singing along like it was. magical. its like theyre still baffled that fans know their lyrics……its so. endearing. oh god this is long but anyway they were amazing doyoungs highnotes sounded extra good live not to say im shocked but im still shocked. everything about this experience feels like. i cant even comprehend it it feels like a dream i know i keep repeating myself but theres no other way to put it. theyre as good as i expected them to be and better. theyre so so professional and powerful and energetic and bright my heart blooms just thinking about it. after the concerts some fans still lingered to talk about everything but i was sort of in a haze tbh shagdkj i just. was completely quiet the whole time just kind of processing what just happened and i was clutching my ball and UDLJKAVGSFDTIZ() anyway…yeah. that lamely sums it up.
