Tri Expo day trip

So another week done and another ha pound lost. Pleased with that as I knew it would settle down but my biggest achievement this week has to be my first 5k run since my knee injury. Not only was it my first since my knee problem, it was hilly around Stamford and I was over the moon with the speed especially considering being out for over a month! Then today we woke up early and started on the 2hr 15min drive to Event City, Manchester to visit the Tri Expo with tickets won and given by SportSticks! After a good wander round checking out the new kit on sale and meeting the UKRunChat guys it was off to eat, drink and get anything I wanted before Becky Adlington did her talk at 1.30. Whilst cooing over Boardman bikes, I look up and standing there is no other than cycling legend Chris Boardman himself! Was tempted to ask him if he could buy me one of his bikes - they are so pretty - but resisted!! So after some Purple Harry bike cleaning bits bought and some overshoes from the weirdest stand ever it was off to grab some good seats before Beck arrived. With Mark Foster interviewing the time passed so quickly hearing about Beck's life and training and of course her two Olympics. Afterwards there was time to grab a picture with both and to get some swim tips to take me forward: swim more often and up your cadence! So now the pool hard work starts too! 🏊
