half assed harebrained ideas where a specialty for beckham teague. especially after not sleeping for three days and going on a drinking binge. so, here he was sat on the couch in the siblings small shared apartment whiskey bottle in tow and idea almost fully planned out in his head... well planned out as far as getting back to hallow falls. the poor dear mustn’t know how to read. cruella pouted at him. she shifted the way she held the card so the $200 could be seen clearly. “you see? darling, you could buy a hundred subway sandwiches with this. if you’re nice,” she grinned, bringing back the gift card an inch closer to her. “but i have a much sweeter idea in mind. do something for me in that store,” she pointed behind her, “and you can use this card to buy your sandwiches. or if you do your job really well, i’ll throw in another gift card worth another $200. you must know someone in need of a precious gift. someone you want to impress, perhaps?”

beckham nodded as he read the card. hmm, a fair price... depending on what she needed done. the brunette was loyal to orion but he wouldn’t stop himself from making quick cash wherever else he could. and hey clearly the lady was willing to pay and four hundred bucks was four hundred more dollars than he had now. “alright,” he said with a shrug, “i’ll play your little game. what’cha need done?” 

“i’m not robbing the place for less than a thousand. but i’ll go knock some shit over or whatever if you want.” he stated plainly has if he was asked this sort of thing all the time.

meg held out her cigarette for a stranger to light; outside snake eyes casino was a reliable place for a free lighter, and maybe on an open-minded night, someone to come home with. but tonight, meg just wanted to float. walking away from the stranger, she brought the cigarette to her lips and inhaled, poking her head into the back-entrance of the casino. when she saw a familiar face, smiling a lopsided smile as she exhaled the smoke. beckham teague.

serena did not allow herself to dwell on hallow falls often, but she knew that the past often forged the present, even if it was best to move on. and if the past didn’t leave one alone ... then it would be foolish to ignore it. 

today, the past came in the form of a vision. at first, it seemed like a nightmare that had a grip on her in the moments before she woke up — don’t look away, it whispered, see me in the black of night — and there it was ... ... a dark demon, festering and lying in wait like a rot, its dark ooze reaching out to poison a young boy with a familiar face ... and the people he loved surrounding him. a young boy whose face grew ... just as the darkness did ... from boy to man ... from festering to cancerous ... and then it struck her. she’d had a vision of beckham teague.

these visions had never been wrong before.

beckham teague. beckham teague. the one face she knew well in elias, one she’d tried to respectfully avoid because elias was meant to be a new start for both of them. this is why she’d avoided snake eyes casino, that entire block. surely, beck wouldn’t mind her never saying hello. she had no way of knowing if he’d ever wanted to say hello too ... but she would find out soon. 

once she stepped into snake eyes casino, she wasted no time finding the far end of the bar, sticking close to the wall as much as possible. when she was finally able to catch the bartender’s attention, she nervously asked: “ excuse me, i was wondering ... i was wondering if you knew beckham teague ? is he here tonight ? ”

         ↳     Maybe he’d never live this down. He honestly couldn’t care less because the moment he woke up it felt like his skin was crawling. He’d had this feeling before when he was young and his ability had first appeared. When he opened his eyes, his room was dark. Completely covered by the demons that hid in his shadow. He stared up at them and willed them to come back to him. It was a little harder than usual but they eventually listened. He exhaled his fear once they were back where they belonged. He placed a hand on his chest and could feel his heart beating wildly in his chest. He hadn’t been this afraid in a very long time and so he did what he always did when he was scared. He hopped out of bed and through his door to find his brother and sister. “Beck? Sadie?” He called out into the house still trying to calm himself down. 

The shadow behind him was whispering as it always did but it was louder than usual. He walked into the living room and it was getting louder. He tried to level his breathing and tried to relax but it kept whispering and whispering. “Shut Up!” Logan turned and yelled but there was nothing there.

        giulia had been spending quite a bit of free time at the pit stop, an attempt at getting a feel for the vibe before she had the audacity to ask for a job. this, along with her newfound rule of introducing herself to anyone she managed to ran into twice, allowed her to meet a myriad of new people.

        cue new guy - broody as hell and of seemingly few words. giulia had yet to catch his name or even speak to him, but suddenly he seemed to be a repeat face in her day-to-day. time for conversation.

        “ hey buddy, i mean this with all the respect in the world, ” she said flatly as she slid in the seat across from him - a lie. “ but you look like santa claus himself came down the chimney and told you it was all a rouse in the name of capitalism. then shit in your bed. what gives ? ”

"I would consider it winning if you didn't come home covered in blood and bruises." Haven softened her gaze, however, because she was honestly counting it a win that he had come home. She knew that she could never change her mess of a man nor did she want to. Beck was who he was and she loved him that way. But she hoped that she could give him tenderness when he was with her so he could remember that there was someone in his cold world that wanted to keep him warm. She finished up cleaning and put a nice pink bandaid on his chin over a deeper cut but thankfully that was the worst of it. "Well, this'll all bruise but at least I didn't have to to stitch you up so you won't whine tonight. You're so lucky I like you." Haven smiled as she cleaned up her little station and went to wash her hands. "Okay, coming right up." She rolled her eyes at his comment as she moved around getting the necessary ingredients. "My house is your house, baby. If you're good and eat all your dinner, I might consider your offer."

"no promises." he replied, looking up at her. there was such comfort in knowing that she accepted him in a way that no one in his life ever had nor would they ever. she knew who he was... even if it wasn't the best to know. "no stitches sounds like progress in my book." he chuckled, hand running over the pink band aid.

"just like me?" he asked, faux offense in his tone, "i'd like to think you really really like me. you know.. like back in the day when you would tell the special girl on the playground she was pretty because you really really liked her." not that he really really liked any girls in his youth. he hummed thinking about the past.. while not always the best there were glimmers of light through its darkness. "i'm gonna be on my best behavior." he said crossing his fingers in promise. "how was your day? save any kittens from trees?" he teased.

welcome to the first official monthly announcement of 2023! happy new year, everyone!! the admin group at walt is so excited to announce a new year full of changes to help better the writing community we have built here for the ease for both our members but for the admin team as well. we know that members are used to seeing this in the discord, but, since there are many changes being made to different pages on the main and to guidelines and that this post will be rather lengthy we decided these would be changes that needed to be announced on the main. 

as normal we would like members to like this post but also react to the announcement in the discord server so we can assure you have read. we are also asking that any questions be sent into the main or directed to the question channel in our server. 

𝙰𝙽𝙽𝙾𝚄𝙲𝙴𝙼𝙴𝙽𝚃 𝙾𝙽𝙴:

bea is joining the admin team!!! with the new year and many exciting things we have planned for the group we decided it was time to grow as an admin group and bring in an extra hand. thankfully bea accepted graciously and we are happy to announce she’s working back on the admin team! we’re so excited to see the new ideas she brings to the table and cannot wait for you to enjoy it as well. 

𝙰𝙽𝙽𝙾𝚄𝙲𝙴𝙼𝙴𝙽𝚃 𝚃𝚆𝙾:

relaxed activity has ended! alright, pals. as the holiday season comes to a close we will now be resuming our regularly scheduled activity. our first activity check will be on January 15th.  if you’re in need of a slight refresher on the guidelines for activity please check out our rules page for a full break down. we are also just giving a gentle reminder to our closed starter / open starter rule. it’s just something we’ve noticed and would like everyone to be aware of to make sure we aren’t bubbling.

but, to put it simply we are going back to four post a week per character. meaning by activity you will have eight in character posts/threads by the end of the two week activity period. again musing posts and reblogs do not count towards activity. only active threads / starters. we are also no longer including eight posts the day before activity. we’re asking you post four replies/starters per week each character. 

which means we will also be changing the way we do our activity checks. we will be keeping the same bi-weekly schedule. we still are doing away with the “red” and “yellow” we had before. but, we will be tweaking the posting so that you are aware of how you ended up on the check so there is no confusion on how we are doing this.

if you land on activity check 3 times on any of your characters then the admin team will just be reaching out to check on you. if you’re on hiatus we aren’t going to count that time against you. but if you come back in week two we are expecting 4 posts. 

it just makes our jobs easier as admins and it also helps keep the dash flowing actively throughout the week. 

𝙰𝙽𝙽𝙾𝚄𝙲𝙴𝙼𝙴𝙽𝚃 𝚃𝙷𝚁𝙴𝙴:

as our members are aware we have currently closed all member apps. the reason we have done this is to help tweak our rules as far as applying goes across the board. we feel as though a month may not be enough time to properly develop current characters before applying for seconds. so, as of right now we have updated the rule for applying for multiple characters. we are moving the time period to two months since you last applied for a character. that way the admins can see the on dash development you have working or in the works for your character. 

we are also adding a section for current members to the application. if you were here long enough you may remember the ‘interview-not-interview’ we had members do with an admin before applying for a secondary. this time we are adding questions specific for members to the end of the application. being fully transparent the interview was a great idea. it gave us a good idea of what you had going for your current character(s) and what you had planned but the flaw is it left things up to a sole admin if a member should apply. we are a team and we want to decide as a team if your activity and on dash development has been enough to pick up another character. 

we also are asking to see on dash development specifically. because if it is not on the dash we cannot see it and it technically hasn’t happened. we are unable to see things you plot in dms and such. we need to be able to see that proof if we go onto your character’s blog. we are also being more selective when it comes to new member apps as well. because we want to make sure you are all getting the same type of quality writers that you are.

new pages!! so, the admin team has been busy bees trying to work on different pages and the lore behind the walt universe. we’re excited to announce two new pages that have been in the works. 

elias lore, an all in one page that shows a time line of events, different lore, and also a breakdown of different areas of locations of elias. 

outside locations, different locations located outside of elias that are mentioned in bios or often by characters. 

these pages will be continually updated as we go through creating new characters and more world building. 

again we’re being fully transparent with you guys as to why we are making these changes because we have such a great team of writers we want to make sure the group isn’t lacking anywhere. and it helps with activity. we will never hold any members to a standard we wouldn’t hold ourselves to. if you have made it all the way to the end you deserve a hug. any questions please send them to the main inbox or questions channel.

PRESENT !!

sadie is here for one reason and one reason only; her brothers. the teagues are thick as thieves -- literally -- and no one is able to come between them. it’s hard to seperate people that bonded through trauma; first the wounds inflicted by their father, then by orion bartholomew. they stepped from the frying pan into the fire when it came to father figures. they had to hold onto each other, and due to their shared experiences, anyone on the outside was mistrusted immediately. in elias, this lack of trust in anyone but themselves is still very much present. sadie is a firm believer in not needing anyone else, in being fine with just the three of them, and anyone willing to take away her brothers is seen as a threat. without their mother, sadie stepped into the maternal role, trying to take care of logan and beckham as best as she can, but it’s pretty clear that she’s nowhere near ready to do so. from messed up meals saved by takeout and ordering in, to messily stitched up wounds that get infected easily because she did not clean them thoroughly enough.

she’s taken two jobs to support herself, was fired from one and is threatening to get fired from the other. turns out that customer service is not her strong point, but she can get away with more as a bartender than she could as a waitress. but what does she have to put on her resumé? dabbling in the occult, being a professional cat lady, terrorising children with scary masks even when it’s not halloween? she had to face the facts and realise that she had little to nothing to offer the world outside of hallow falls. she could no longer rely on her family to put bread on the table, so she took the first few jobs she found. but waitressing was not it (apparently, telling a customer to fuck off and get a life in response to ‘can i talk to your manager’ was not appropriate in a restaurant setting), and bartending is difficult. so she found something she was good at. 

the escort life isn’t glamorous, not in the slightest, but it pays. enough to feed the three of them, enough to have a little place to receive her clients, enough to be able to stop worrying about whether their electricity or water supply will be turned off next. so no, she’s not happy, but she’s satisfied, and that’s what matters. she has her cat (that she definitely did not reanimate after his death and restore to life. definitely not. he’s just old, it’s just a silly rumor), her books and her brothers. they’re all she needs.

PAST !!

sadie, like her two brothers, was born to carrie teague, a human, and jason teague, a demon. of course, she’d only had one brother at the time, as she came after beckham and logan came after her, but of their parentage there was no doubt. from birth, it was firmly established that the three of them could not simply be fully human. their mother was too kind, too angelic, to wonderful to have spawned those three menaces with another man, and their father was too terrible, too disgusting, too brutal to have birthed those three children with a sliver of goodness in their heart on his own. no one bothered to tell the three of them, though. so they remained in the dark, believing their mistakes were their own fault rather than their father’s.

just like her brothers, sadie had great potential. her powers manifested early on; she felt most comfortable near graveyards, talking to her friends that people around her (even in hallow falls) deemed imaginary, with a good book, her cat, and her army of ghosts. at first, they just talked to her, nudged her in the right direction and demanded a listening ear. but as she grew older, she started to refuse to listen. rebellious teenagers had problems with authority figures, and sadie was no different. whenever a ghost tried to demand something from her -- a way to help them move on, to use her as a vessel, to let their story be heard -- she refused, and it took its toll on her. she needed to be in control, but they wouldn’t let her, and whenever she lost focus for a moment, they appeared, and became visible to all, not just sadie. she’d been using her powers to keep them at bay and to protect other people from them, but it was getting harder and harder. the beings from the other side were demanding, and were now out for revenge. still, if she focused, if she stayed in control, things were fine.

actually, things were most definitely not fine. from a childhood spent hiding from an angry father and gravitating naturally towards her mother’s arms for comfort, towards the kind bookseller’s shop with little nooks to hide with her cat, to teenage years spent anxiously patching up her wounds -- and her brothers’, running away from home more times than she could count -- and always coming back for the other members of her family, to adolescence following her brothers around to a new town with new people to terrify and terrorise, to safely explore her options when it comes to her powers. but maybe that’s not what she wants anymore -- though a lifetime of sin is hard to unlearn, especially if she’s not sure what she wants.

since she dropped out of high school, walt university hasn’t been an option for sadie. elias is a place to run away to, not to settle down and have a life. but that’s what’s currently happening, as her brothers seem to have found their place and they don’t seem very hell-bent on leaving anytime soon. she’s here because of them, and because of her mother’s explicit wishes. 

so maybe she finds a reason or two to stay. a purpose, a desire. she’s a blank slate with a disturbing past, and will do anything to make sure her future is as far from bleak and blank as possible. she doesn’t have the best reputation, despite her best efforts to control it, but has no problem lying and cheating her way back into people’s good graces. needless to say, that doesn’t always work.

orion bartholomew - overlord. sadie doesn’t want him here, but i sure do. regulars - customers at the bar or her other job, people who came for the drink / service and stayed for the company, or those who stayed reluctantly because there was no other place to go. (ex) coworkers - she used to be a waitress at bueno nacho but was fired rather quickly, but i can imagine she made some fast friends while bitching about customers. or not? her current jobs include escorting and bartending at the snuggly duckling, which are much better fits for her. enemies - she’s a mean bitch so she probably has a few! ticked someone off on the streets, threw a middle finger where she shouldn’t have? definitely! workout buddies - sadie’s at the gym a lot, so she’d hang out with other regulars!
