Apparently, there is a miniseries airing, RIGHT NOW, in the GAP cinematic universe, where, if I'm understanding the MDL comments correctly, Nueng, aka Sam's incredibly hot older sister who yelled at Grandma, is in the In-from-180-Degree-Longitude role of out-of-the-picture-mom's bff who out-of-the-picture-mom's daughter wants to hook up with ????? and nobody ????? on my dash ?????????? told me* ???????????????

Palm after finding out about Nueng's desire for a master's degree and the prospect of doing yet more years of long distance: this has shaken the foundation of our relationship

nueng loves so so much. god. he has his walls up high, so high, terrified of caring and being hurt but at the same time he falls in love so easily. so hard. with everything he has. he loves and loves and he does his best to protect those he loves. it's not that he's unloved - not quite, not fully - but it's that he's so cautious with love that when he does get it in the form of a boy, sunrise pretty and salty like the ocean air, he does everything in his power and then some more to keep that boy safe. he's willing to give up everything he has just for a chance to keep palm safe, even his own love, and - we always talk about how insane palm is, how he's so self sacrifical (and he is), but he has nothing to lose except nueng. on the other hand, nueng is willing to sign over whatever the hell uncle kit wants without hesitation, give up all his executive power, it doesn't matter, just - as long as palm is safe.

There is something about the show beginning in a restrained purple

And Nueng and Palm mainly existing in the purple...

when Nueng thinks about Ben at night, he is lit by red.

Possibly because Ben brings more of the same normal red Nueng is usually surrounded by to Nueng's life

Well, at least until thoughts of Palm start to creep in

Because Palm gives blue

and takes red

And the purple appeared in the background during the daylight when Nueng was watching Palm while playing piano

Well, until he saw Maggie playing around with Palm. Then, Nueng blocked the purple

And he tried to cover it up with red by drinking into the night

While Palm remained highlighted by blue

The whole time Nueng was yelling at Palm, the purple was stifled, and the purple wouldn't appear again

Until Nueng called out for Palm

And it began to creep onto Nueng as he reached out to Palm

After the fight, Nueng woke up in the blue

And his mother showed him love in the purple

Something he has been missing from his mom since his father's death, and only gets from Palm

So he tried to apologize to Palm by buying Palm the shoes he wanted, but Palm was strictly in the muffled blue and not willing to take any red

But after Nueng was bullied at school, and Nueng verbally apologized to him, Palm was willing to give color love

But when they got home, the purple faded (pay attention to the color as they walk in)

As Nueng worried his mom would be disappointed in him as she sat strictly in the red

But, as before, she surrounded him with purple love

So maybe purple is love because we know blue boy + red rascal = pair purple and pink

Why else would the credits be in the spectrum of blues and reds making pink and purple?

Or it could all mean nothing.

Maybe cinematographer Rath Roongrueangtantisook who worked on 3 Will Be Free and A Tale of Thousand Stars just really likes purple. Maybe he likes it so much that hints of it were included in the OST. Maybe...

The way Nueng flinched in anticipation of the next line, knowing exactly what Palm was going to say and why and hating it, hating himself for it, hating Palm for it too because it hurts so much to hear that he can barely stand it.

Nueng lashed out against Palm for leaving him, for not being beside him, for reminding him that he is alone in the end because the people who care for him all care for him as part of something else, some kind of debt or pay.

And now he is trying to make up for it the way he knows how... with money and gifts and trying to show that he's thinking about him. By signing his cast in a teasing way. By trying to respect the job he does. By trying everything he knows.

But that doesn't change the job Palm is doing or the way Nueng hurt him or the pride Palm is still trying to carry.

Man, now I'm afraid of anticipating GMMTV shows because the last few GMMTV shows I've watched, I'd highly anticipated for months or even 1-2 years before watching them (Be My Favourite, Only Friends, 23.5) and they all ended up being meh to me. Only Warp Effect escaped unscathed and even then I had issues with how they dealt certain things, it's just they did everything else so well that I overlooked them.

I have literally only heard good things about Cherry Magic though, so I'll hope that changes things around for me (along with Wandee which seems to be going great from the reactions + My Love Mix-Up starting next month).

Thinking again about how Palm's sense of love is so tied up in duty and sacrifice. The way he doesn't let Nueng take care of him. The way he knows Nueng loves him and yet still fears that he is only loved because of what he can do, not who he is. The way he loses control of his leg and he runs - because Nueng might find him a burden or worse, pity him, and Palm cannot stomach that. The way he punishes himself over and over again because that is what he has always known (he has known his father leaving and his mother leaving and sacrificing his childhood for love and so that must be it. That must be love. Right?) -

- and yet the way he is so desperate to be loved, too.

They did this the ENTIRE time they were speaking to each other. Palm casually grabbed Nueng's hand and kept caressing it with his thumb, and Nueng started doing it back.

AND IT ALL STARTED HERE!

It all started when they were alone together and realized they only have each other!

Palm continues to do this to reassure Nueng that he is there, and that he isn't going anywhere no matter what. And now Nueng is doing it back!
