Sorry for Steven Universe posting in the year of our lord 2023, but the Owl House ending really reminds me just how much the Steven Universe ending got to me (derogatory)
#idk i kinda get what SU writers were thinking with the whole“ authoritarian genocidal dictatorship as an allegory for abusive families”#but the outcome was bad like very very bad#also I think I am the only person online who's problem the finale was outside of the whole Diamond Getting redeemed thing#the dialogue was contrived at best (the “no you're a child” line still pisses me off till this day)#the action was sloppy and uninteresting (although that's like normal for Steven universe so)#most of the new fusion designs looked looked like shit and steven being able to fuse with the inactive gems#throws out all the shit about consent and relationship in fusion reducing it to a cheap power up gimmick#because the show barely had the time to develop Steven's relationship with Pearl and Garnet the way they did with Amethyst#because they spent every 10 episode with some useless bumfuck from Beach City 😭#fandom bullshit#my post
