suddenly remembered i have this Outer Wilds OC that started out as a joke but has kinda grown onto me. so. meet FelsĆbĂĄnyaite. yes that's a rock that exists. i might shorten it in some way to be more "name-y", but we'll call them that for now
they're a pretty chill fella, though their chilling out method involves considerably more sap wine than Gabbro's. the advice they give Hatchling is only useful about 1/4 of the time, which i gotta say isn't a very good ratio, but the good intention was there at least

Okay, now I need your Renfield headcanons!! And I need to know if you agree/disagree with mine đ
I hope you know I started stimming so hard when I got this notif and I'm still actively stimming now AGHJ
I absolutely agree he wouldn't keep up with "popular" music now, he's definitely still listening to the stuff he somehow got exposed to when he was younger and hes just chilling with not knowing who *Insert current pop artist here* Is
I also absolutely love him using Dracula's punishments as a way to punish himself!! Also him reading poetry... I would pay good money to hear nick hoult read me literally anything. Even the bee movie script. Also between you and me he DEFINITELY ruins his underwear at least 5 times a week
Time for my hcs!! This Is gonna be a long post
-I Imagine he has never had a phone before and he has no Idea how they work. Yes I know he has a laptop In the original script but that man Is 126 years old he would not know how to work modern technology. Rebecca gives him money to buy a phone and he buys a shitty nokia from 10 years ago because he doesn't like that the keys on a new phone are flat
-He's autistic!!!! He struggles with social cues and loud/crowded spaces, which Is why he likes his job so much. It gives him a peaceful atmosphere to work In and thats why he uses the chloroform to silence his victims Instead of letting them scream. Some stims I think he'd do are: rocking back and forth, dancing, fidgeting with things In his hands, chewing on things and doing his little giggle
-His main love language Is touch. I Imagine he loves feeling Dracula's face and teeth, he'd spend hours running his fingers across Dracula's cheeks If he could. He also enjoys cuddling and holding hands with Rebecca(platonically) because he never got any affection from Dracula.
-His favourite colours are pink and orange(which Is funny considering they are my least favourites) and he owns so much pink clothing. He's always struggled with being traditionally masculine and now that he lives In a day and age where gender expression Is more fluid and colours are less gendered he Is free to wear pink shoes and pink shirts!!
-He struggled with his sexuality for a long time before and even for quite a while after meeting Dracula. He never really loved his wife romantically and It didn't help that they were forced Into their marriage by their parents and societal expectations. They were very distant but Renfield just thought that maybe she wasn't the right one, but there wasn't anything he could do so he just put up with It and repressed his feelings. Then he met Dracula and finally realised hes gay, though he kept trying to hide It from himself until eventually his wife found out about the letters he had been sending to Dracula where the vampire flirted with him. She got angry and that was the last straw for Renfield that made him finally decide to go to Transylvania
-I think he'd really like rats and maybe even get one as a pet after leaving Dracula. He'd probably name It something cute like snuffles or mr whiskers. Maybe even Remy because It sounds like Renny(which I Imagine Rebecca calls him)
-He's VERY possessive over Dracula, to the point where he felt jealousy when he found out about Drac's wives and sort of lost himself a bit which contributed to his short descent Into madness when he was locked up In the asylum
-He loves birdwatching and just zoning out while watching them fly around. He can't do It as much now because he lives In the city but when he and Drac lived In Europe they often had houses on the outskirts of forests so he could do It a lot more back then
-I think after he and Rebecca defeated Dracula he definitely asked to "borrow" a pair of handcuffs and she looked at him suspiciously before hesitantly agreeing. Then he proceeded to get himself stuck In them a few weeks later and had to call her to help because he lost the key under his bed
-I think he'd like baking pastries and lots of sweet tasting things since they remind him of Lillian and how much she loved sweet treats, plus It helps him forget the bitter taste of Dracula's blood. He's very bad at cooking though, like absolutely atrocious. Its like when you make a sim cook something like eggs and toast and they burn the oven to a crisp
-He does crocheting and crosstitching!! He loves making gifts for Rebecca and the DRAAG support group
-Hes a very sentimental person and ends up holding onto things he doesn't really need but cant let go of. He still has one of Lillian's old teddy bears from when she was a baby and he also kept a lot of Dracula's clothes and rings along with his coffin and cane
I'm gonna stop there because this Is far too long but thank you so much for asking AGHHHH the autism cannot be contained
#I'm so hyperfixated on this little bug eater#he means everything to me#renfield#robert montague renfield#renfield 2023#I think about him and my head explodes

Mesozoic Monthly: Dreadnoughtus
Last January, we started out hopeful for 2020, but unfortunately it ended up being a very difficult year for almost everyone. After an equally challenging start to 2021, I think it is safe to say our attitudes toward this year are more guarded, but nonetheless brave. We know that more hard times might be approaching, but if we could make it through 2020, we can make it through its successor. It is in this spirit that this edition of Mesozoic Monthly features Dreadnoughtus schrani, a colossal sauropod dinosaur whose genus name literally means âfearer of nothing.â
Dreadnoughtus has many connections to Carnegie Museum of Natural History (CMNH). Starting in 2005, a team that included CMNHâs own Dr. Matt Lamanna collected the only known fossil skeletons of the ginormous species in Santa Cruz Province of southern Patagonia, Argentina. Matt was also one of the authors of the paper that officially named the beast in 2014. Furthermore, many of the bones were scientifically prepared by staff and volunteers in the museumâs on-exhibit fossil lab, PaleoLab. Preparation involves freeing the fossils from the rock in which they were preserved (called matrix) using special tools, and then gluing/reinforcing the fossils back together as needed. Next time you visit CMNH, make sure to take a peek in PaleoLab to see our preparators in action!
CMNH Scientific Preparator Dan Pickering carefully removes rock from a gigantic cervical vertebra (neck bone) of Dreadnoughtus, ca. 2012. The top of the vertebra is projecting toward the viewer; the front is toward the left of the image. Photo courtesy Matt Lamanna.
Sauropod dinosaurs such as Dreadnoughtus are easily recognized by their frequently huge size, long necks, and long tails. CMNHâs Dinosaurs in Their Time (DITT) exhibition features real fossil skeletons of three different sauropods: Camarasaurus, Apatosaurus, and Diplodocus. Brachiosaurus, one of the stars of Jurassic Park, is also a sauropod, and is featured in the mural in the Jurassic Period atrium in DITT.
Dreadnoughtus belongs to a group of sauropods called titanosaurs that lived during the following Cretaceous Period, largely in the Southern Hemisphere. Titanosaurs have many interesting features that make them unique, such as simplified front feet with very few bones, extra-wide shoulders and hips, and even (in some species) bony plates called osteoderms embedded in the skin. However, as their name implies, titanosaursâ primary claim to fame is their generally titanic size. Many titanosaurs were absolutely enormous â the smallest members of the group, such as Magyarosaurus, were outliers likely produced by insular dwarfism, a phenomenon in which typically large-bodied animals evolve smaller sizes that are more sustainable in geographically restricted habitats such as islands. Magyarosaurus lived in whatâs now the Transylvania region of Romania, which was part of an island at the end of the Cretaceous. In contrast, Dreadnoughtus, which lived in prehistoric South America, was not restricted by an island habitat, and grew to an estimated 85 feet (26 meters) long. And, based on studies of the microscopic internal structure of its bones, itâs possible that the already-immense name-bearing specimen wasnât even done growing before it died!
When youâre 85 feet long from head to tail, you tend to dwarf everything around you! I bet you didnât even notice the two 13-foot-long Talenkauen santacrucensis at the bottom right â ornithischian dinosaurs that lived alongside Dreadnoughtus in the ~75-million-year-old ecosystem of southern Argentinaâs Cerro Fortaleza Formation. This digital painting of Dreadnoughtus and company is by artist Charles Nye, used with permission. You can find more of his art under the name @thepaintpaddock on Instagram and Twitter!
As you can imagine, itâs very hard to determine how much a dinosaur would have weighed when it was alive, especially for a dinosaur as large as Dreadnoughtus! Although multiple methods for calculating the weight of an extinct animal have been proposed, one of the most commonly employed techniques is volumetric mass estimation. Paleontologists using this method work with typically incomplete skeletons to first estimate how much of each type of tissue (like muscle or fat) covered the skeleton; afterward, they calculate how much each tissue type (including bone) weighed. Itâs a difficult, somewhat speculative process that can result in different researchers producing wildly different estimates for the same animalâs weight. Estimates for Dreadnoughtushave been anywhere between 24.4 and 65.4 US tons (22.1 and 59.3 metric tons), but the most recent estimate was 54.0 US tons (49 metric tons). For comparison, a typical school bus weighs around 12.5 US tons (11.3 metric tons)! Clearly, no matter how you estimate it, Dreadnoughtus was a massive animal.
Itâs notoriously hard to find complete sauropod skeletons â because their bodies and bones were so large, they tended to break apart and to be at least partially destroyed before they could be buried and preserved. The holotype, or name-bearing, specimen of Dreadnoughtus is among the most complete giant titanosaur skeletons ever found. This reconstruction by scientific illustrator Lindsay Wright (a former volunteer here at CMNH) shows which bones of this titanosaur have been discovered (in white).
Gargantuan size has its drawbacks, but it also brings enormous benefits. It takes an absurd amount of resources to grow this large and power the organs needed to support life. However, if enough food is present to sustain this growth, predators are no longer an issue. Not even the largest meat-eating dinosaurs could pose a threat to something as large as an adult Dreadnoughtus. The only chances predators had to taste this sauropod were to hunt it when it was a small juvenile or to scavenge it when it was dead or dying. That seems to be what happened, too, because teeth of carnivorous dinosaurs were found scattered around the fossils.
So, as we continue our journey through 2021, let us think of ourselves like the unassailable Dreadnoughtus: the challenges of 2020 helped us to grow tremendously resilient, and the trials coming our way will not fracture our resolve. Times may be hard, but we are gigantic dinosaurs with no natural predators. We can do this.
Lindsay Kastroll is a volunteer and paleontology student working in the Section of Vertebrate Paleontology at Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Museum staff, volunteers, and interns are encouraged to blog about their unique experiences and knowledge gained from working at the museum.

When We Were Young. [Frank Nâ Furter/OC] (Chapter 1)
⥠A/N: Hi everyone! I'm back with more writing. How exciting! Now this is a bit more drawn out because it's multi-chaptered! I actually started writing this back in October but I only posted it on AO3. I just wanted to write a really romantic story with a character that is the least bit romantic lol. I was inspired whenever I was reading through the script for Revenge of The Old Queen and I enjoyed the gothic aesthetic of Transylvania, the idea of Frank actually being a Prince and other tidbits and soon brainstormed a few HC's and suddenly a original character appeared (like always lol.) I have so much more to say but I'll save it for the next chapter notes. Iâll more than likely post the next chapter tomorrow. Please read and enjoy! -PersieâĄ
⥠Story Synopsis: RHPS A/U. In order to keep the royal Transylvanian bloodline intact, Prince Frank is betrothed to the daughter of a Transylvanian socialite on his 13th birthday. However, when she comes to see visit him during his mission on Earth after three years, she found that everything is not as it seems. This story is an exploration into the memories of young romance, passion, betrayal, jealousy and forgiveness. Some events have been changed for the sake of storytelling. âĄ
âĄÂ Chapter Word Count: 1,216 âĄ
⥠Contains: No warnings really. Just Kid Frank being well, being Kid FrankâĄ
Chapter 1: under the ivory moon.
Black eyes stared out at the oily black liquid hitting the shore, black shoes burying deep into the iron sand. The sound of muffled rejoicing and shouts of joy filled the air, cries of hedonistic delight and mania was nothing new to the little girlâs ears. It was fairly common in Transylvania but today was a special event. It was the Princeâs 12th birthday today and a fairly raucous celebration was ongoing in the palace and on every sprawling road of the planet. She had decided to wander away after eating most of the candy hors dâoeuvres from one of the platters so she would not get reprimanded. The young girl tugged at her glove, carefully climbing to perch herself on a tombstone shaped rock. She delicately played with a jagged piece of a blood red ruby that she found upon the rock. It glistened in the moonlight, reflecting the twinkling into her dark eyes. She smiled as she tucked into her pocket, feeling her pocket immediately become heavy from the weight of it. She looked down and let out a small gasp when the brightness of a diamond caught her eyes, the oily sea brushing over it before revealing the glimmering jewel once more. She carefully climbed down from the rock, her Transylvanian black heeled shoes scraping against the rock. She reached her hand out to pick up the lovely little gem from the sand. She brushed the ebony specks from its glittering face with a smile. The viscous black liquid of the shore wrapped around the top of her shoes, making her lift her foot out of the dripping goo. She sneered lightly, shaking her leg to try to get the rest of the sludge off. âThatâs not yoursâŠ,â a voice sounded, making the girl look up in surprise. She held the gem to her chest as she studied the boy curiously, gently flipping against her throbbing heart. She immediately recognized the boy as Prince Frank, who had wandered away from his party as well. He was a few inches taller than her, his unruly hair rising from his head like a curly halo, striking green eyes and a wide mouth that was always set with an arrogant smile. She immediately bowed, still holding tight the diamond that she had found. The boy watched her bow, studying her with an almost blank gaze. Her curtain of glossy black waves covering her face as she lowered her head. He reached out to poke the top of her head, making her wide almond eyes look up at him in attention. âYour HighnessâŠ,â she spoke quietly, shifting on her feet as she stared at him meekly.
âCommoners arenât supposed to have diamondsâŠ,â he said, reaching out to snatch the diamond from the girlâs small palms. The girl instinctively reached for it again, much to Frankâs surprise only for him to tuck it in his back pocket. His velvet roquelaure cloak waving slightly with his movement, giving her a mischievous smile. The young girl was slightly was surprised at how wide his mouth was, his whole face seeming to turn up with his grin. Frank giggled when she let out a little sigh of defeat, knowing that she could not fight him for it. Frank pondered if he should give it back to her or not, studying her closely. She seemed to be near his age, a little younger. Her eyes were as black as the Transylvanian sea, mute and beautiful. To his surprise, her clothes radiated with funereal opulence with the black lace ruffle blouse with puffed shoulders and sheer sleeves with a leather belt looped into her waist high pants. The silver buckle of her belt glistening with the Transylvanian emblem in the moonlight. Silk mid arm-length gloves gracing her small, doll hands that nervously moved to straighten the wrinkles in her pants, her small heels digging into the sand. âWhatâs your name?â Frank asked after a beat, making the girl give him a soft, polite smile.
âLovenza Lise,â she replied, making Frank giggle again. Lovenza frowned slightly at the sound of it, tucking a thick tress of hair behind her ear. âThatâs such a boring name! I mean, really did your parents even try?â he remarked, making Lovenza frown even more. Her heels dug into the sand as if she were trying to root herself, the ruby in her pocket seemed to weigh her down even more.
âIt is not!â she blurted before she could stop herself, making the prince regard her in playful amusement and wonder. A big grin spread across his small face in recognition as he studied her face, snickering at the pout on her face.
âI know you. You are the daughter of the Count Lise, arenât you? He is always at the palace, having tea with Mother,â he stated, matter-of-factly. âMother speaks highly of him all of the timeâŠ,â he trailed off, untucking the diamond from his pocket to hold in his gloved hand.
Lovenza was immediately reminded of the image of her father; tall and stately of a slim frame dressed in thigh-high boots, dark gloves, and a form-fitted tuxedo. Lovenza gave a short nod in confirmation, clasping her hands behind her.
âMay I have the gem back, Your Highness?â she asked, changing the subject to the diamond that he was holding gently in his hand. âWhy? You know it is against Transylvanian law for the subjects to have diamonds and pearls,â he stated, his pompous accent lacing his words. Lovenza began to silently wonder why he was there, so far away from his own birthday celebration but before she could ask him why, he interrupted her thoughts.
âIâll give it back to you if you really want them. I have no use for them, honestly,â he drawled lazily, as he held the diamond in his hand. âBut youâll have to kiss me firstâŠ,â Lovenza drew back in surprise, watching an impish smile form on Frankâs face followed by a giggle. She studied his expression, waiting for him to say that he was joking about what he said only for him to remain wordless and patient waiting for his request to be fulfilled.
âLikeâŠa kiss on the lips?â she asked innocently, glancing around almost nervously and Frank nodded urgently, a glitter sparking in his green eyes. Lovenza hesitated, wringing her gloved hands together. Was she even allowed to do something like this? He was the prince; he had not been betrothed as of yet, but she knew that it would be announced on his next birthday for sure. Frank waited patiently; his eyes become half-lidded as he watched her space out in thought. He finally decided to lean in to give her a peck on the lips, catching her in surprise. She kissed him back automatically, her face becoming hot from embarrassment.
Frank gave a satisfied giggle, tossing the sparkling diamond up for her to catch. Lovenza cupped her hands out to catch the precious gem in her hands and immediately shoved it into her pocket.
âAfter you, my lady,â he said with a theatrical bow, gesturing for them to go back to the festivities. Lovenza eyed him for a moment with a blush before walking towards the joyous noises of the celebration with a beaming Frank following behind.

So the oldest show I see you talk about is usually The Facts of Life but usually you don't go much further than 80s and 90s. I am very curious to know if you have favorites from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s (not including TFOL obviously)? And explanations why! Hopefully something to keep your brain occupied during quarantine.
Ha, I was about to point out that TFOL was technically started in 1979 haha and thank you for the question
When I got this ask, the first thing that came to mind was The Twilight Zone. Iâll save my rant about that and some other shows under the cut.
Tbh, I havenât gotten into a lot of classics pre-1980/1979-ish. Iâve had I Love Lucy in âMy Stuffâ on Hulu for, like, years now, but I havenât sat down and watched the whole thing. I definitely watched multiple episodes back when it was on Nick at Nite. If it was on Nick and Nite in the 90s or in some other form of syndication, Iâve seen at least a few episodes. Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Gilliganâs Island, Andy Griffith, Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke, etc.Â
A lot of older shows that I want to watch just arenât available anywhere, or they werenât available when I last looked. One that springs to mind immediately is Maude. It isnât available anywhere past paying about $20 for the first season on Amazon prime whichâŠIâm not really able to do atm. I know that features a younger Bea Arthur and touches on some controversial issues including gay rights and abortion and so many progressive causes Iâd love to see. I think Iâm more interested in that than the show it spun off of, All in the Family.Â
Other shows Iâve had difficulty finding but want to watch:
Diffârent Strokes (at least for the backdoor pilot of TFOL lol but itâs only on Hulu with the Starz add-on, which I donât have)
The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show
Kate & Allie (1980s but I have to complain about how itâs fucking nOWHERE AND I JUST WANNA WATCH JANE CURTIN)
Anyways, for shows that first came to mind at this ask:
The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle: Since I grew up with baby boomer parents, this was right up their alley back when they were kids, particularly my mom, since she was around 7 when the show started. We owned some episodes, if not the whole thing, on DVD when I was little and I loved it. My grandmother would tell us âFractured Fairy Talesâ a la one of the segments. I excitedly saw the movie back when it came out. I truly just enjoy the show, even if its âjustâ meant for kids. Itâs fun and sweet and I obviously love good, dumb puns.
Also, two of my favorite Rocky Horror callbacks reference it. One of the most famous and classic callbacks is the Rocky Horror Roll Call: âJanet!â âDr. Scott!â âJANET!â âBRAD!â âRocky!â âBULLWINKLE!!!!â
One of them isnât as common, Iâm guessing because you have to know Rocky and Bullwinkle past the name to get it. âI grow veary of this vorld! When do we return to Transylvania, HUH?â âAFTER WE CAPTURE MOOSE AND SQUIRREL!âÂ
And a theater back in Kansas did a fringe festival production of Rocky Horror mixed with Rocky and Bullwinkle called, of course, The Rocky & Bullwinkle Picture Show. It was hilarious.
Laugh-In: Did anyone else have a bit of a TV schedule memorized for when you were sick, or was that just me? Lol back in elementary school, this would play on one channel and Iâd normally watch an episode of it and then normally, like, Hamtaro after that lol I have specific memories of both of them ;alsdjk. Itâs obviously best known for launching careers of many comedians, including Goldie Hawn and Lily Tomlin. And, of course, the time Nixon appeared on it to say âSock it to me!â The 30 Rock parodies of it cracked me up.
I just found out that at least one season is on Amazon Prime which makes me very happy.Â
The Twilight Zone:Â For someone who loves sitcoms and pretty much refuses to watch any prestige TV dramas, I really fucking love TWZ. One of my weirder life/pop culture goals is to see every episode in every incarnation, the first one having the most episodes and seasons (5 seasons, over 150 episodes) starting back in 1959. Itâs particularly a weird one for me because I can be a bit easily spookedâlike, I canât do true crime whatsoever, it freaks me tf out and when I read through cases of things like that I have to watch something lighthearted or else I wonât be able to sleep lol. TWZ is easier for me, though. I also grew up with a lot of this on DVD due to, again, my baby boomer parents growing up with it.
Iâve seen an episode of the 2002/2003 reboot, the remake of one of the best (and most famous) episodes, âThe Eye of the Beholderâ, and I watched the first two episodes of Jordan Peeleâs reboot, but havenât finished the season. Ultimately, while I enjoyed his first episode, which I found very original, and his retake on the classic "thereâs a gremlin on the wing of the plane!â episode, I find that doing an hour long show is just not a smart move when it comes to TWZ. For a bit of fun trivia, TWZ was originally cancelled after its third season, but CBS brought it back to replace two half hour shows mid-season, meaning the show had to be an hour long for s4, when it was originally only half an hour. S4, last I checked, isnât even available on Netflix and seems to only be on Hulu. It was pretty much considered a failure to everyone and when you look at lists of the best twilight zone episodes, most people either ignore s4 or will throw one in while basically saying âwell, we SHOULD include at least ONEâŠâÂ
TWZ really showed how much you can fit into half an hour, and a lot of the episodes feel so much longerâin a good way, of course. While back then there were less commercials so the shows could be slightly longer (25 minutes according to Wikipedia compared to 22-23 minutes nowadays), it still managed to pull you in and hold your attention and not overstay its welcome. I find that the hour long versions of the show make it harder to stay engaged and the pacing really has to slow down to fill in the space.Â
However, I do enjoy how each incarnation has used sci-fi/fantasy to approach fears and prejudices of the time. I know the 2002 reboot redid âThe Monsters Are Due on Maple Streetâ which, back in the original â59 series, was about fear of communists and the like, and made it about fear of terrorists and Islamaphobia. Jordan Peeleâs obviously tackled a lot of racism and I know the third episode, without having seen it, was about police brutality against black people. The show definitely has the potential to tackle heavy subjects in a great way, I just think its a show meant to be half an hour.
And another side rant, TWZ >>>> Black Mirror. Iâve read through the summaries of every Black Mirror episode and have seen a couple, including the perfection of âSan Juniperoâ. Besides that episode, I really donât like the show? TWZ managed to be original and have varying endings and had messages besides âtechnology badâ. Itâs why I can like âSan Juniperoâ for being so unlike the other episodes. Iâve enjoyed some of the twists Iâve read, but a lot of it just rings hollow compared to TWZ for me.
So, thatâs about it for classic shows I could call favorites, though, tbh, TWZ is probably the first Iâd say is a favorite of these or any pre-1980s show.
In general, since the 90s shows defined my childhood, Iâve been enjoying watching those during this pandemic for nostalgia and comfort. Iâm cycling through two shows Iâve watched all of before (3rd Rock from the Sun and Cybill) as well as one Iâve possibly seen all the episodes of but only through syndication and never straight through (The Nanny). But depending on how long weâre here, maybe Iâll get a chance to watch some of these older classics on my list!

do you have any movies you would recommend?
ya darn tootinâ i do! my letterboxd is a pretty comprehensive account of my Movie Watching Experience, but hereâs a random selection of some iâd recommend:
movies i think are genuinely, objectively good
12 Angry Men (1957); itâs a classic for a reason. you donât even learn most of the characterâs names and theyâre all still incredibly well defined
The Apartment (1960); the film that got me wanting to watch all of billy wilderâs other movies (which i still have of yet to do)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993); the best batman movie ever??? nuff said. well â itâs like the dramatic take on the story lego batman tells, but it did it first, soÂ
The Third Man (1949); man i canât even pick one great standout thing about this movie⊠itâs just so good. highly recommend
The Great Mouse Detective (1986); this movie started the disney renaissance you can fight me on this
Incendies (2010); holy fuck dude. holy fuck. very slow movie but a lot of shit happens in it. a SHIT ton of triggering material that is handled in a way that isnât gratuitousÂ
Ressources humaines (1999); VERY out of the norm for what iâd usually watch (it was assigned in class, can you tell), but holy shit. i very much enjoyed it. somehow less slow than incendies
Le dĂźner de cons (1998); this movie is veryâŠâŠâŠ french in its humor, but similar to 12 angry men in that itâs story has a limited setting and rides on the interactions between itâs characters. it does more laughing AT the assholes than WITH them, so i found it very funny!
North by Northwest (1959); iâm biased bc this movie reminds me a LOT of one of my own characters (if you know them, then youâll know exactly who when you watch it), but itâs also like. a great film
movies i enjoy, but are definitely more subjective
Next Gen (2018); has itâs problems but is overall really solid
The Hotel Transylvania trilogy; some of the most expressive 3d animation in feature films imo, but the stories suck. only watch for that and bc dracula in them is⊠kinda hot
Psycho II and III (1983 and â86); the second one is the stronger, sadder film, but iii is still fun!
Cool World (1992); the title song slaps, the animation is good, holli would is hot. thatâs about all ya need
Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins (2000); this by no means bad, itâs just⊠very niche. either youâll like it or you wonât.
Sleight (2016); saw this in theaters and enjoyed it! donât know how itâd hold up on a second viewing but i very much enjoyed the time i spent with it
Rock & Rule (1983); if this movie had had a strong script it would be near perfect. very interesting look at what the studio nelvana, the people behind care bears, was passionate for as a whole
The Intruder / The Stranger (1962); william shatner is weirdly good in this?? itâs preachy by our standards but for 1962 itâs very progressive. and special mention because when i saw it in france i arrived late and learned after the lights came up i was the only black person in the theater (and one of only two poc, a classmate i went and saw it with)
and some documentaries if yer in the mood for that
The Celluloid Closet
Tab Hunter: ConfidentialÂ
Floyd Norman: An Animated Life
Dark Girls
Reel Injun
I Am Not Your Negro
Tokyo Idols
Grizzly Man
