Funnily, I did know this, and it's actually one of the pieces of information about her that originally started driving me so insane about her! There'd be times at 11 pm on a Thursday night where'd I'd be so fixated on Undyne that'd I'd just Google search undine and read through the Wikipedia entry and follow the links to information about the writers of the story and the inspiration for it. I'd just search through page after page of links and blog posts and documents that people have written about the undine for hours and hours at a time, purely because I was so obsessed with Undyne Undertale. I went on YouTube to see people reading through the original book, I'd search for everything possible that could relate. "Undine" "Ondine" "Paracelsus" "Book of nymphs sylphs pygmies salamanders and kindred spirits" "Friedrich de la motte foque". I'd look at pictures of carved marble and paintings depicting Undine. All because I love undertale butch fish lady. So yeah basically I know way too much about Undine
