Cancelled Vacation

When Roger rebooked the trip, he borrowed your phone to check your period tracker app, just to be sure.  It was the sort of sweet gesture that had made you fall for him so hard in the first place and you couldn’t help but feel a little warm and gooey when you thought about how thoughtful he was. But you were mostly just excited by the prospect of a weekend away with Roger. Your check in time wasn’t until the late afternoon so both of you took your time packing that morning and then, a little after midday, jumped in the car, ready to drive the few hours it would take to reach your destination. The drive was mostly spent singing along to the radio and playing dumb games like eye spy to keep yourselves amused, stopping a few times for a bite to eat and the chance to stretch your legs.
Once you reached the hotel Roger got you checked in but after so long in the car neither of you felt like staying cooped up in the room just yet, opting instead to take a walk along the beach. Roger’s hand almost engulfed yours in its warm security as you strolled across the sand. You’d both gone barefoot, the sun heated sand soft under your toes as you left a trail of footprints behind you. “I’m glad we did this,” Roger said, squeezing your hand.
“Me too. It’s so lovely here, could just spend all day on the beach.”
“Spose, though you better not be expecting to get in my pants down here,”
“But it’s so romantic!”
“Love, I’ve been around the block enough times to know it sounds a lot better than it actually is. You end up with sand everywhere,”
“Bu-”
“Everywhere. Finding it weeks later, everywhere. Plus then there’s the sunburn. You ever had a burnt arse? It’s not fun. Can’t imagine burnt tits would be either.”
“But under the sunset with the sound of the sea,”
“And the smell of seaweed and the sing of the jellyfish that’s washed up on shore right next to you,”
“Now you’re just talking rubbish.”
“Okay I made the jellyfish thing up but the rest is legitimate.”
You laughed, bumping his shoulder with yours as you kept walking, “fine, but this is very nice.”
Roger hummed, his gaze coming to rest on you.
“What?”
“Nothing. You look gorgeous,”
“Alright you old sap,” you teased though you couldn’t hide the smile he’d brought to your face, “let’s turn around and head back, sun’s starting to set.”
Walking along the beach was nice enough but under the bright pink and orange sky it was even better. The pier near where you’d started your walk wasn’t much more than a shadow up ahead and you wondered if that’s how you and Roger looked to people further down the beach. Not that there were many people left, only the keenest swimmers sticking around so late. It seemed as if the world was growing quieter, leaving you and Roger in your own bubble with just the sound of the rolling waves to and an occasional gull to keep you company. Neither of you spoke much, not wanting to break the serenity and content you felt with unnecessary words.
Even once you were back in your room the mood didn’t leave you. Roger suggested ordering room service for dinner as he opened the door onto the balcony and stepped outside. You agreed though you were a little distracted by the view, the last of the sun shining on the sea, creating pools of light in the growing darkness. You leaned against the balcony trying to take it all in. Roger stepped up close behind you, his hand resting lightly against your lower back.
“Thank you,” you said softly, turning your head to the side.
“What for love?”
“Bringing me here. Reorganising this trip after I ruined the first one,”
“Told you to stop saying that,”
“I know I know. But, still, can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be right now.”
He leaned in to kiss your temple though another soon followed on your cheek, and then another on your lips as you turned to face him properly. You sighed as you melted into him, his arms enveloping you. Your eyes fluttered open as he broke the kiss, leaning his forehead against yours so all you could see was his bright blue eyes.
“Y’know, we don’t have to be on the beach to have romantic beach sex.”
“Mmm? And what would you suggest?”
“Leave the doors open so we can still hear the waves and smell the sea but we get to stay in a comfy bed and not have to worry about sand.”
“You make some good arguments,”
“Was hoping you’d agree,” he chuckled before kissing you again, taking a step back towards the door.
You shed your clothes slowly, taking it in turns to remove items from one another between soft kisses. Roger slowly walked back towards the bed, taking your hands to pull you onto his lap once he was comfortable. His back was propped up against the bedhead, giving you plenty of space to lean into his neck as you slowly sank down on him, muffling your whine against his skin. Roger ran his hands up and down your back as you adjusted, whispering praise into your hair. Once you felt ready for more you brought your head up, finding his lips once more as you gently rocked against him. There was nothing fast or frantic about it. No bouncing on his cock, no one falling into a more dominant roll, no desperate cries of more or harder. It was just you and Roger, holding each other close as you circled your hips and let out some soft moans. His beard tickled wherever he kissed you, his arms wrapped around you, holding you tight against his soft tummy and chest. It was all you could have hoped for, intimate and tender, building you up slowly until Roger moved one hand towards you clit and you shuddered through your release, falling against Roger’s chest as he came too.
After you’d untangled yourselves and cleaned up a bit he pulled you into the bed properly, drawing you into a cuddle. You ran your fingers lightly over his, tracing the lines of his tattoo.
“What you thinking, love?” he asked quietly.
“Nothing. That was wonderful is all.”
He hummed again, shifting even closer.
“I love you,”
“I love you too.”
“Kinda wish we’d ordered dinner before though. Could be eating by now.”
Roger laughed, the loudest sound either of you had made nearly all evening, “I’ll give ‘em a call now, see if we can’t get them to be extra fast.”
