Yeah but maybe consider that it's not your politics being represented

Just because media has been translated to your language does not necessarily mean that the media was created to be a commentary on your specific culture and country

#usa culture wars (tired jpeg)#because it's always almost an USAian going on about assigning US politics to everything #like hey maybe asians creating asian media in asian countries and languages have seperate and distinct political and cultural issues #that they may want to comment on specifically as stated in creator interviews (and occassionally author notes/blogs)#or the fact that things like gender and class and cultural expectations are DIFFERENT in non-USian countries #which does not actually map 1-on-1 to US politics and culture #and yet USians insist on erasing all nuance and inflicting their issues on every discussion about the topics #why does US politics always have to be spotlighted ok it costs nothing for ya'll to shut the fuck up and not interject #maybe learn something about other countries and the issues they're facing once in a while #we all know about YOUR issues i assure you with how our faces are ground into it #and let's not even go into actual irl political/cultural discussions about non-US countries
