don't like when d.stiel shippers steal the parallels. idk how to explain but. there was that ep where dean killed himself to save sam and there was that girl michelle i guess and she and dean had a conversation about losing a loved one and dean was clearly thinking of sam bc like. the whole ep was about that. the whole ep was about dean being able to do literally everything for sam bc he just can't live without him and then when michelle's lover dies he tells her that she'll move on (because he's a fucking hypocrite) and she's like wtf ive just witnessed someone i love die. and dean had literally the same experience when he thought that sam was dead. but anyway, my point is. people compare that scene with cas dying situation and it's just. delusional yeah but also i feel offended? because they miss the point of the whole show and twist it just for their ship and they would fight literally anyone who deny d.stiel bc "it's canon" but when there are such things that actually happened and were clearly about dean and sam they care only about making it about cas. enjoy your ships, like whatever you like but don't devalue every relationship dean has (especially with sam) just for your ship

hmmmm, great question. there are many songs i associate with many characters, but going off what comes to mind first and not over thinking it:

dean: movies - weyes blood

sam: tomorrow will be kinder - the secret sisters

john: my oklahoma home blowed away - pete seger

destiel: in our cathedral - eels/spring - angel olsen

samdean: my brother my keeper - mandolin orange

deanjohn: i would die for you - miley cyrus/glory box - portishead

30. is john winchester redeemable? is he complex? is he in love with azazel?

oh, john. i think i answered this last time, but i can talk about john winchester until im frail and gray, so im happy to answer this again.

idk what redeemable means. idk that redemption is something any of us decides as viewers. idk, i’ve thought a lot about forgiveness this year, and i’ve thought a lot about sam and dean and john and whether they’ve forgiven john for how he raised them and treated them. and honestly, i think the show can’t decide if he’s forgiven either, which is why these later seasons are so wishy-washy on how john gets referenced. how you can have the boys home and dean saying things got dicey and sam saying dean protected sam from john, while also having an episode like lebanon that intentionally calls back forgiveness feelings sam expressed all the way back in season 1, and yet also gives us a deleted scene where dean calls john by his first name for the first time and sam seems shocked they’d choose to honor him in the same breath as mary and bobby and cas.

and i guess what i’m trying to get at here is that even if the show had somehow found a way to make john seem like a good father, i wouldn’t be the one to decide if he’s actually redeemed or forgiven. and on top of this, forgiveness is an incredibly difficult, complicated, and personal experience. we forgive people for different reasons but ultimately for ourselves, because we can’t go on living with the hurt of what happened to us anymore, which is how you can forgive someone without them knowing you had a problem or someone who’s long-since died. and why i bring this up, is because even with john depicted as he is, even if the show didn’t try to “redeem” him, i get the sense sam and dean have forgiven him anyway, and that’s more than enough for me.

as for if he’s complex, that’s a hard yes lol. i just rewatched the henry episode, and i think that ep does a really great job of complicating john further, even complicating dean (and to a lesser extent sam). so yeah, i think john is complex. i think he’s layered. i also don’t think that excuses anything, and that’s where other people’s takes sometimes irk me a bit. john isn’t either good or bad. there’s no fucking excuse for what he did to his kids, but i can hold that truth in my heart the same way i can hold an absolute tenderness for a man who loved his boys and loved his wife and had no blueprint for being a good father.

lol is he in love with azazel? yeah, that’s a no from me, but y'all have fun with the ship i support you 10000%.

63. ideal supernatural ending if only changing the last couple of episodes, or going off the full canon?

sam and dean on a beach. dean says the same speech he said while dying, but this time he says it with his toes in the sand at sunset, watching the waves, drinking a beer with sam.

if im choosing an existing finale as a place to end the series, then that’s also easy: s11.

i've also said elsewhere on this blog that another good ending would be a bunker version of "baby" where we get their life post-hunting as told through different rooms in the bunker! gimme the full day!

We don’t brag that ‘we won’ we uh just watched and loved the actual show and main characters and if you wanna rewrite the entire show (how’s that going) then maybe you should find another show/thing to obsess over because you clearly hate spn

There is no ship war because the only ship that is canon (platonically) is Sam and Dean and there’d be peace if you’d just stay in your lane and just enjoy Destiel as fanon and not take over every tag like Sam’s with posts that have nothing to do with Sam

Us ‘evil bronlies and wincesties’ actually care about and love the characters and show and you despise them

I have never seen the venom and delusion that you all spew from any brothers or J2 fans, never seen them tag actors with utter hate and poison or send horrible cowardly anonymous asks. We are just here trying to love and support our show and characters/actors we love and you all make it SO HARD. Why should we have to defend canon?!

Also the ace erasure and offensive bisexual sterotypes you talk about to convince yourselves Dean is bi is horrible and you have zero respect for Dean or Jensen.

The utter hate and poison directed at Jared makes me feel sick. If you don’t like someone fine but bullying and spending your time hating on them is a horrible thing to do and you need to take a long hard look at yourself and just focus on things you love because otherwise eventually all that hate will turn inward and the only one you’re damaging is yourself.

Jared and Jensen deserve so much better than all this drama and I just hope they see enough love and support sent their way to drown out those hateful voices.

Makes me so happy being in the Merlin fandom because hearing how welcoming it is for new and old fans, people who may have just started the show or those who watched years ago and are still blogging or inspired to blog now.

I’m proud of us not only for enduring and being the immortal fandom but for everyone’s kindness and warmth and generosity and talent and sheer magical spirit and energy <3 Drama free for 1500 years.

I've (probably) said it before but I'll say it again, If you dislike the relationship between Sam and Dean in Supernatural and put 'dni bibros' in your blog and if you skip the early seasons, the seasons which are the best and most important, you are not a fan of the show in anyway shape of form because the show IS about Sam and Dean, always was, the heart and soul of the show it was always their story.

I feel like the Elrond of the Merlin fandom.  My blog is ancient.  I lived through Bradley’s video diaries, illegally recorded comic con trailers that I stayed up all night waiting for them to drop, screaming over the first BBC trailers, EMBRACE ROCK, biting our fingernails whether Dragoon would be in the finale, the agony of Christmas Eve, when landofmerlin was still here, the NTA’s ‘beaming with pride’ and Colin like a champ winning it all and bonus Merlin casts faces when Downton won  (the list goes on) ALL IN REAL TIME.  I miss those halycon days.

I was there Gandalf.  Three Thousand years ago.
