(im honestly starting to give up a little on art due to lack of recognizement. just a small vent cause honwstly its been rough. Havent had motivation for much because most of my posts lacks even a small of attention they used to get. Either way, you have good and bad days i guess)

A couple days ago I got an ask asking if I ever draw fat people and I’m thinking about it rn cause I’m drawing my ocs and I’m just- idk confused??? Cause basically all the art I post here are of the dca who are scrawny ass robots in canon, and my sona (and Y/Ns who I base off of myself)

This is the earliest update anyone's asked about, so I'll be starting here. ALTHOUGH... I kind of dread to, because looking at old art is incredibly difficult. I'll do it-- I'll do it for you all and my love for yapping.

Director's commentary: Finding the Founding Full update <-

I was still far from good at comic making, but I was very ambitious, so although the visual story telling in this update isn't up to my standards now, there's some neat things past-Mina did.

The establishing shot is both telling and cryptic-- I'd say it leans too much towards the latter but she tried. The goal was to have enough hints to clue the viewer who knows skyward sword into the fact that this was the Goddess statue courtyard-- Which would ideally build tension. However past-Mina was too waaay too subtle. I took the liberty to edit how I'd do this panel today: having a part of the statue loom over the panel. This way even the viewers who don't remember the courtyard's birch trees can tell something big is waiting.

Altho I do like the detail that there's some wood planks in the background. Reminds the reader that this is post-game and they're doing building 💪

Groose :) The lore with the accessory that Link, Zelda and Groose wear is that he made them for the squad. The motive was actually polyamorous yearning but he's too insecure to admit it yet. You can see he wears his different and it has alternate feathers, it's like. A metaphor for self isolating or smth.👍I love Groozelink but they're not established in the time the comic takes place, so we get a longing flustered groose instead... Not that I've gotten to show that in the comic yet. Er.

At this point in the comic I hadn't settled on a consistant lineweight, and hadn't started using bold outer lines yet. So although the art isn't bad, it looks chaotic and unfinished. You can also see I was using WAY too thick of a brush for the panels and made the text too small. Gotta start somewhere, I guess!

Another ambitious panel, I was trying to have Groose's dialogue make it more poignant that the statue is BIG and STARING DOWN but the art REALLY didn't work with it. The statue looks tiiiny and besides the clouds curving into a halo it's all just a very boring image.

I super quickly threw a fish-eye-lense distortion on the panel to show something closer to what I'd wanted it to look, but didn't have the skills for at the time.

In the last segment of the update Wild has a panic attack type-o-deal which is again made less effective by the art, but past-Mina did try real hard and I respect that.

These two sets of panels were meant to be kind before-and-after transformations.

Wild going from seeing a family talk -> to the wall being torn and the tree destroyed with a guardian on the move. THEN Groose -> melting into a malice skeleton. I really don't think past me did a good job with that. I should've included more details that stayed between the two panels so they'd be more clearly connected. It's a cool idea tho, and in later updates I started to figure out how to execute cool ideas, so... Practise for the win.

Also nobody ever pointed it out at the time, but Wild's hair actually goes from the hairstyle he has in the comic to a hairstyle much closer to what he had back in the war. That and the colour fading from his eyes are deets I can still get behind whole-heartedly.

In the final page of the update there's a massive tonal shift where the art goes simple and the dialogue silly. It really depends on the tone you want for your comic, as this kind of a move can completely undo any tension you built, but in this case I think it's a very well done whiplash feel-good(ish) ending.

I think LV's updates started very amateurish, but I did seem to have a pretty good grasp on pacing and tone since the start. I'm very proud of that.

You can probably tell I don't much like this update anymore, haha. I appreciate what it meant for me back then and have nothing against people who still like it. To me its just a great example of all the things where I was falling flat when I first started.

Besides the panic attack wasn't an idea I even liked back then-- It felt like sudden unnecessary melodrama that could've easily been replaced with more nuanced emotions. However I'd seen people hype up all sorts of angsty art in the fandom at the time and felt like if I didn't put in something intense people wouldn't care about my comic. It's silly looking back-- You should be true to yourself when you make art, that way you'll like what you make and it doesn't age as poorly.

Never-the-less, the journey of making this webcomic so far has been really good for my comic skills and although I cringe at the past updates: they're still valuable stepping stones on that journey and I'm happy to look back and reflect! Thanks for requesting this update for analysis, and hope others can get something out of it too!

she spent the rest of the break hanging out with ian - they went to a few art galleries and some new restaurants. she didn’t upload her photos anywhere, she didn’t want to make things any worse with mingyu. it was just a low-key break. she slept late a few mornings, went running if she felt like it, and took long breaks from reading a book she had found by staring out the huge windows of ian’s apartment. he had an insane view of the city. 

the problem was her habit of snapping photos because she was suddenly without anyone to send them to - she had taken tons, and she could sit and scroll through them, but they only made her feel lonely as the break wore on. she kept thinking if he would just post one thing where he looked like he was having fun, then she could pretend nothing had happened. everything would go back to factory settings or something - she wasn’t sure.

it was only the last night of break, while they were having dinner, that ian asked her about mingyu.

“so, have you answered him at all?” 

naturally, she knew the ‘him’ being referred to. “not yet,” she paused, “i don’t really know what to say - how do you back up from the fact that you left someone during a vacation because you’re in this weird tenuous space where neither of you seem to be able to talk about anything properly?”

he laughed, “yeah, that’s a nice description - i’m sure i’ll back away from the discussion now,” he rolled his eyes, “you have class with him tomorrow don’t you?”

she nodded, “yep - two classes, actually, and usually we grab breakfast,” she sighed, “not tomorrow though, i guess.”

he drummed his fingers on the table, “because you can’t, you know uh, give him a ring and i don’t know, maybe ask to talk?”

she stared at her plate, not wanting to let the reasonableness sink in too deeply. 

she poked at her food, “look, i don’t like that he kept something from me, and i don’t like that admitting we might be a couple seems like such an issue,” she pursed her lips. 

she had had a lot of time sitting around to think through how she was actually feeling, and even if she handled things badly, she felt like there were legitimate issues.

“ah, and so instead of telling him about all of this, you’re just going to avoid it, or did i miss something?”

she shrugged, “i don’t know - shouldn’t he maybe know that i have issues with these things?”

“to me? how would he - and why are you being so inflexible - we both know you like him, maybe you just need to take a step towards him instead of running in the opposite direction like your hair is on fire whenever you start to have some real feelings,” he sounded way too sage. 

“don’t be obnoxious,” she deadpanned.

he swirled his wine, “look, if you want to end it with him, then just do it, but waiting around, seems like a big mistake, especially if you do care about him - you’re stringing him along.”

she sighed, “i think i’ll wait to see if he’s suddenly back with his ex before i do anything,” she concluded icily. 

he laughed and sipped his wine, “so avoid him until he does something that proves your theory then?”

she flipped him off. 

but even when she went to bed in his spare room, she kept tossing in bed. she couldn’t get comfortable. 

it was too hot - then too cold - her back hurt, but she didn’t like sleeping on her stomach. she was convinced the aircon wasn’t working properly and kept trying to feel the air from the vent by standing on a chair. she eventually gave up and sat down to scream into her pillow out of sheer frustration. but, lying there post-scream, more than anything, she wondered what mingyu was doing. 

she kept checking his socials, looking for signs of life, but he hadn’t posted anything. she checked again, and when there was still nothing, she went to her messages to stare at the draft she had typed out. she had typed short things and long things, and she kept coming back to the fact that they were all wrong. none of them said the right things - none of them were going to fix anything. 

she glanced at the clock, 10:38 pm. she stared around and finally typed a message quickly and hit send. she couldn’t undo it - it was already gone. all she could do was stare at her phone and wonder if he would reply. 

after about one minute, she shoved her phone off the bed, certain he would never talk to her again. she couldn’t handle waiting and checking. she had flipped her ringer on, though, just in case he did answer. she hoped that he would, but she was very sure that he wouldn’t. in her mind, he had totally forgotten her and was already back together with katie, exactly where he should be. and she was alone - probably forever. she was definitely going to die alone, and not just in the poetic way of how we are all alone in death or whatever. 

she practically leapt out of bed when the little ping suddenly interrupted her thoughts.

she stared for a moment, trying to remember what she had even asked - she glanced back at her message, asking if they could meet. 

she bit her lip, trying to think of where might even make sense, but she saw his little typing bubble and waited to see what he said. when it went away, she felt like she needed to answer quickly or all would be lost, she named a park - it was probably closer to him, but she didn’t exactly care. she waited, feeling nervous all over again. 

but then her phone screen lit up - he was calling her. she watched for a moment, silently panicking, before finally swiping to answer.

“why do you want to meet in a park, y/n?” he asked immediately, no preamble, just his husky, sleepy voice.

she shrugged, “i don’t know - i guess so we can talk in private?” 

she knew precisely how uncertain she sounded.

he was quiet for a moment, “just come here - it’s only me,” his voice trailed away.

she closed her eyes, “did they decide to stay or something?”

she felt horrible for asking. 

“not everyone has monday classes.”

she hummed, “right.”

she suddenly felt tired - she realized how used to talking to him at night she was. the difference being they were usually in the same room, and the same bed. 

she sighed, “i miss you.”

she picked at the fabric of the duvet she was lying on top of - it had never become comfortable for reason. 

“like a lot,” she added, voice soft, floating off into nothingness.

she stared hard at the white fabric of the duvet, waiting for him to say something, as she tried to follow the lines of the fabric’s weave. and the silence only made her hate that she had taken ian’s advice. he was wrong - she should never have taken a first step or any step at all. 

she started to say his name, thinking maybe he had fallen asleep. 

“so come here, then you won’t have to miss me,” he whispered. 

“mmmh, are you mad at me?”

she could hear him shift around, “not mad - maybe confused,” he paused, “but not so much that it really matters right now when i just want to be with you.”

she nodded, feeling her stomach flutter, “mingyu?”

“hmm,” his voice was low.

she knew what she was thinking, but she wasn’t sure how to say it.

“if it’s too late”— she started.

“y/n, just - please come - i’ve missed you too,” he spoke quickly.

she was expecting to need to wait outside his door, but he was already there, waiting for her. she gave a small wave as she neared him. even dressed in sweats and a tshirt with slight bedhead, he looked stupidly handsome. no, she decided, he was much worse than handsome; he was gorgeous and perfect, and she had missed spending her entire break with him. 

she only noticed his split lip when she was closer, immediately reaching for him, “what happened to you?”

he shrugged and moved for her to go inside, which she did since standing in the hallway wasn’t the best thing. but she immediately rounded on him, “seriously, what happened to you?”

“nothing,” he caught her hands lightly before they could make contact with his face.

she tried to tamp down her annoyance because it felt like, again, he was just holding out on her. for no reason she could even begin to understand. 

unlike earlier in the week, she wasn’t looking for a reason to be annoyed with him, but she wanted to know. 

“please tell me?”

“why, y/n? it was just something stupid with seungcheol - it’s not important,” he whispered, his hands tracing lightly over her arms. 

she groaned, “yes, it is,” she could see him getting ready to assure her that it wasn’t - “it’s important, just like the stuff katie said to you, okay - all of it matters to me because it’s about you, so even if it annoys me or whatever, please tell me, okay? you’re not protecting me from anything - it just makes me feel like you don’t trust me or something,” she had imagined being a bit calmer when she explained that, but she hadn’t known how soon they would be talking about it either. 

he nodded, “fine,” he laughed, “he was trying to make me feel better about you leaving, and it turned into me calling him short and we sort of got in fight,” he nodded, his face flushing.

she stared at him for a moment, “did you at least hit him back?”

“yeah,” he whined, “he was being a dick to begin with.”

“i thought you said he was trying to make you feel better?” 

he rolled his eyes, “he was, in a very seungcheol way, and even if he was right, i didn’t like the things he pointed out,” he said matter-of-factly.

she tilted her head slightly, wondering what seungcheol had pointed out. although, she had the distinct feeling this wasn’t the time to ask. they were both quiet for a moment. she could feel his fingers tracing along her waist, gently pulling her closer.

“did you actually miss me?”

she nodded, “umhm,” she stepped closer, leaning into him, feeling his arms surround her.

she pressed close, glad that there was no distance between them. 

“i’m sorry i left,” she whispered. he kissed the top of her head in response. 

they stayed there hugging like it would make up for the last few days. and then they went to his room to go to bed. but even lying next to him, she knew she wasn’t exactly doing anything differently than before. she was letting the physical calm between them fill all the little emotional cracks, but that wasn’t going to fix how she felt. it would just keep things together until the next time and the next time until maybe the cracks were too big to be held together.

hope you don't mind @thevampireviolet but i wanted to rb again with your tags--also an extremely solid point. tbqh i think the tendency to suddenly focus on the quality of a work post scandal reveals a lot about us/how people think--like, why is it important to talk about this now rather than what the person did? not that people should stop, of course; but as you said, why are people suddenly so defensive of his works now? i see how my original post can come off as hypocritical in this regard but i think my sentiment more or less lines up with yours. i'm just tired of people deciding that the most important thing about persons in a scandal is the quality of work they create, either for the purpose of defending it or defaming it. like on some level; who cares? why are we tying that to what the person did?

ive posted sketches of him and the coterie (if you could call it that) at the time, but i don't really play him anymore. But i did draw like, an actual reference of him before i doodled him. his name is Yves St. Lyon. he's a Nosferatu from France, embraced during the 1920’s. Valentine's is Over! What now?

Hello! This is a bit of an update post now that DCA Valentine's has finsihed up. Feel free to read what you want (though I suggest at least skimming all of it so you're aware of what's happening with me) and make sure to vote in the polls!

Gen writing update

I had a few requests come in after they closed (no worries to those who did so! I know it was a little confusing regarding such) so i'll be writing those when i get the chance and sending them out into the world, beyond that however, any request-based things are closed (for now) if I get any during this closed period I'm sorry but I'll have to ignore them/not do them. I'm too busy with life/other wips to add them to my list, sorry!

Holiday Spirit is going to be my writing focus for the next couple weeks! It's about halfway done and I'd like it finished so I can move on with things lol

Confused spirit is going to take a bit, as like i've said before I'm writing multiple chapters back to back for the purpose on ensuring proper flow/building my buffer back up, i know it's been a bit but believe me it's been on my mind guhh

In general i have some shorter form content/drabbles & oneshots I want to write, so be on the lookout for those >:)c

Going Dark

I was saving this for the end just because it sounds worse than it actually is.

I'm going to take a break from posting/tumblr/etc for about a week or two and spend some extra hours doing my research stuff. I'm not behind or anything (and def always put it and school first dw) but I kind of want to try and get ahead with it just because of how strict my timeline to finish is 😅

I also just want a bit of a break from constantly writing and maybe do some other hobbies when im not on the research grind. I'll be back at it (again more casually) in a few weeks tho!

BUT, i'll continue to think on it for those who might be interested, if it's something I do consider doing it'll be a bit from now, but I appreciate the thought from those who asked!

Welp. Been a minute. Overdue for an update.

So.

The Depressing Bit

Going to go ahead and rip off the band-aids quick.

First off, I passed my one-year laidoffiversary a couple weeks back. Still no new job despite applying every day of the week for the past year. A lot of dead-end interviews. Three times as many scams and I don’t dare guess how many entirely false job openings posted by companies who were never hiring in the first place, but wanted the positions out in the open to scare their actual employees with the threat of being easily replaced and to look good to investors with the illusion of growth. So there’s that.

Then, while doing my taxes, I came to a fun little revelation.

You know my novella The Vampyres, ala eBook and paperback? Had its birthday last year, March 15th. As I plugged in my earnings from that book from Draft 2 Digital’s doc, I discovered I'd made a grand total of $278 from it over the course of 2024. Cool.

I paid $275 to purchase the ISBNs (International Standard Book Numbers) for the eBook and paperback respectively, and a barcode. Which would mean that I made approximately $3 in profit from The Vampyres after a year.

Except I also spent $25 on a ‘change token’ with Draft 2 Digital because I had to make an alteration to the book's interior.

Meaning I spent $300 total on self-publishing this book. And have so far made back $275 of it.

Still glad I did it. Still glad a few folks might someday come across it and enjoy the read. But it’s…yeah. Kind of a glum revelation with March 2025 coming up.

Still job hunting. Still writing. Still hoping and going.

While I’ve been posting my chapter updates on my Substack for a bit, and my stuff is still going up there for the foreseeable future, I’m going to start shopping around for an alternative platform. Not a big fan of how Substack is apparently buddying up to Elongated Muskrat and his specific idea of ‘freedom of speech.’ The main things I’m looking for is a lack of price tag and easy usability. I’ll let everyone know if/when I make the switch to something better.

The Vampyres is on StoryGraph (and so am I). I’d appreciate you leaving any reviews on there rather than Goodreads, the latter being one of Amazon’s Bezos Babies. Really, nice reviews anyplace where books are picked up will help, but do consider a hop to StoryGraph in particular.

Merchandise

One of my New Year’s Resolutions is finally setting up shop with a little merch. I want to make stationery and possibly some novelty mugs* as things to start with. I’m browsing around for a good manufacturer and shipping combo option while trying to 100% avoid Shopify or affiliated sites. Not real keen on them being fine with selling Nazi and MAGA merch. (Frankly not keen on how dodging Nazi infiltration has become a rote part of trying to ~Sell Myself~, but here we are.)

I’ll post prospective product pics once I have something solid. Cross your fingers for me.

*The mugs are mostly for me as I have a devastating addiction to charming drinkware. But I guess you guys can have some too.

Back to NinaKate- I'm on a doodling spree with them, I feel like a feral animal, gnawing at NinaKate content. I feel a LOT like SOME other NinaKate fan rn (ahem ahem...totally not staring directly at a certain ginger...ahem..) so yeah expect some content on the weekends:3

Hey there lovelies. I was able to finally get this up! Only a couple days behind now. I'd really like to go back to the 2 day recaps because there's been so much more going on lately and it's hard to fit in one tumblr post for any more than 2 days at a time! I hope you all got a chance to read Chaos Dad's OFMD Fic. I've already seen so much fan art and fics built off of it-- which is so uplifting in my opinion. I know there's been questions on whether this is canon, whether it's what we'll see when we get an s3, and I think the answer right now is we just don't know. It feels very much like a gift to keep us engaged, and spread a little joy and love in the fandom, which we can always use. So don't fret either way okay-- just try to enjoy the ride if you can :). I have to say, like so many others, my favorite quote was: "Your Fight is My Fight, your Family is My Family."

I really hope all of you know that's exactly how I and so many of your crewmates feel about you too. I know times are uncertain right now and we're all struggling to get through. But this IS all of our fights, and you all are our family. So please lean on each other if you can.

Random headcanons & art

Matt

1. Matt likes to randomly challenge his professors to game matches just to avoid a test or assignment if he wins. Usually it's a 50/50 chance of it working and lecturers usually humour him since his grades tend to be quite decent

2. Refuses to vape and prefers smoking actual cigarettes because he rather die from lung cancer the 'normal way' like God intended.

3. I can see Matt being an atheist, usually attending mass with Mello out of pure interest and just straight up supporting his friend.

• As a kid, he used to believe in God and was really moved by the worship music. When he went to his first concert, he realised Hatsune Miku gave him the exact same feeling and hadn't believed since (coupled with other things).

4. He’s made it a game to see how long he can stay silent in group projects before anyone notices.

• Matt doesn’t like participating, so he tests the waters to see if his classmates will handle everything without him. So far, it’s worked.

5. No one actually knows what Matt's natural hair colour actually is- not even Mello. he's constantly dyeing his hair different colours every week that people reckon he's actually just Ramona Flowers in disguise. (ps, it's red.)

6. Can't dress for shit and picks whatever. He's usually a big fan of collecting meme shirts for shits and giggles.

7. Matt started speaking in brainrot terms because he knows it annoys the fuck out of Mello but it's gotten to a point where it's become un-ironic (???) and he genuinely can't stop.

8. Mikami's made it his life's mission to uphold Matt's ban from the campus library after setting off the smoke alarms ONCE after taking a hit in the library.

• Matt didn’t expect anyone to notice since he was tucked away in a corner by a window, but when the alarm went off, he disappeared before they could pin it on him (everyone knows it was him).

9. Matt is actually a really great cook and likes to sometimes change up Near's meal regimen because he pities the little cotton ball and doesn't want him to starve or make himself sick from eating take out all the time.

10. Matt has an army of Roombas in his dorm that he’s programmed to follow him around, but they mostly just get stuck on furniture.

• He thought it’d be cool to have robot minions, but they’re more of a nuisance than a help. Still, he refuses to admit it was a bad idea.

Beyond/BB

1. BB sometimes appears out of nowhere, crouched in doorways or dark corners for the love of the game.

• He enjoys startling people with his sudden, animal-like movements, especially when they’re not expecting him to be around.

2. He has an entire series on his other/side YouTube channel where he investigates urban legends on campus—most of which he started himself.

• BB’s fans love the bizarre mix of real crimes and made-up stories, and they can never tell what’s fact or fiction because he's just a little too good at spinning tales.

3. BB has a habit of chasing people on all fours when they ask for directions, leaving them terrified and confused. Sometimes he also likes to chase little Firsties or new Professors.

• His preferred method of interaction is making people uncomfortable, and he gets a kick out of their reactions.

4. He sometimes posts the occasional odder than usual video on his main channel, keeping his video vague enough to leave people wondering if he’s the criminal he’s talking about.

• BB’s unsettling delivery and cryptic hints make viewers question whether he’s discussing a real case or something more personal. It's a bit harder to guess when he doesn't outright state names and locations etc like he does most of the time.

5. BB likes to lie and say that he's a vampire as a way to hit on people, touting it as the reason why his eyes are red.

• Since Shinigami aren't a thing here, alongside being L's younger brother, I like to think Beyond is just albino and won't admit it, preferring to spin tall tales about himself instead and dyeing his hair to support his nonsense.

6. BB is actually really good skilled at hacking and likes to leave papers he accesses on lecturer pcs with ominous comments just to mess with professors' and students’ heads.

• He’s notorious for leaving cryptic messages that leaves people more confused than when they started.

7. BB initially dyed his hair black to try and appeal to A since it'd make him look more like L.

• A and L usually had hung out (in the loosest way possible) and BB was usually present during study sessions when A came over. He'd noticed how A used to seem a bit obsessive over L, mistaking it for love and BB thought if he emulated L as much as possible, A would turn his sights on him instead but it didn't click until a bit later that it'd only turn him off. He's slowly trying to learn how to be himself.

8. He's so crazy over strawberry jam or anything related to the fruit to the point you can smell him coming before you see him since he's too sweet. His clothes are guaranteed to be covered in his version of the holy grail without fail.

9. BB's anger usually spikes during exam season— usually it's a manifestation of his anxiety and he's especially unwilling to be reduced to second best. Pity the poor things who incur his wrath at its peak. Kiyomi's hair's short for a reason. BB managed to chop it after she made the mistake of talking to him whilst he was busy.

• He does love L but also has developed a rivalry with his older brother. Constantly being pitted against him and being compared to him growing up has turned his view of their relationship into one of slight resentment and frustration, and his anxiety makes him snap at random, refusing to be reminded of his academic shortcomings if he fails anything.

10. Refuses to sleep in his dorm bed: BB sleeps on the floor, saying it makes him feel more “in tune with the earth.�� People think it’s just part of his vampire act or something, but he insists it’s better for him

A/Adam

1. Adam somehow ended up as the student body president, though he’s not really sure how it happened, and now he’s stuck organizing events he doesn’t care about.

• His natural charisma and general attractiveness made him a shoe-in for leadership, but it’s more of a hassle than he expected...

2. His room is spotless, in stark contrast to L's if Mr Wammy doesn't send someone out to clean it. Adam insists it helps his mental clarity. (That boy is just a neat freak).

• He has high expectations for himself and his space, and cleanliness helps him manage stress.

3. Adam organizes casual debate nights at a local pub, where students get together and argue philosophical concepts over drinks.

• He enjoys intellectual challenges and has a natural ability to facilitate conversations.

4. Adam frequently debates professors in class, not out of disrespect but because he genuinely wants to dissect their arguments.

• He has a deep need for knowledge and constantly questions authority to understand the reasoning behind academic opinions.

5. Adam has a quiet job at the library where he mostly reads between shifts and helps organize study materials for students.

• The library is a peaceful escape, and the job allows him to focus on his own work while earning money.

6. He has a strong coffee addiction, probably worse than Light. Adam is always drinking coffee, often with a book in hand, claiming it helps him stay awake and focused on his many responsibilities.

• His drive to excel academically and socially often leaves him with little sleep, so caffeine is his lifeline. It's either that or he wheedles weed off of Linda.

7. Adam is always on top of his assignments and known for being the “responsible one” in group projects.

8. Adam’s competitive streak extends to physical activities, so he took up fencing as a way to channel his need for precision and strategy.

• Fencing fits his calculated, intellectual nature while allowing him to compete in a more structured environment.

9. He offers his time to help struggling students with work, often staying late to give them extra support.

• Adam has a natural inclination to help others and finds fulfillment in seeing his peers succeed.

10. He secretly wants to reconcile with L. Adam’s relationship with L is strained due to their competitive history, but deep down, he wants to mend it and stop viewing L as a rival.

• His maturity has grown, and while the rivalry fueled him for years, he recognizes that there’s more to life than competition

So today I endeavored to read the Kuro manga for the first time, with the goal of Reading It as a Non Shipper, as if I were a first timer. Yup totally normal person who picked this up from a shelf and is just casually reading. Mhm no sebaciel here whatsoever, not at all

So far, nothing comes out as obvious

They have this silly professional relationship and Sebastian seems to be just a capable butler we don't know much about

Then in chapter 2, they have a simple dance lesson, which you could just think of as "ah well it's just a practice"

We also have Sebastian stopping Ciel from hitting Lizzie, marvelling at Ciel's resolve in his own identity as head of the Phantomhive family, and fixing the family ring.

Not knowing yet that Sebastian is a literal demon, I as a first time reader have failed to appreciate the thoughtfulness of Sebastian. He didn't need to do all that but he did, simply because he knows it's important to Ciel.

Chapter 3-4 comes along, we find out how freaky these two really are

Then we have this shit

Chapter 5 was just a cute "day in the life" for Sebastian. We finally know what he's thinking and what he does during the day, giving more depth to his personality. Manga Sebastian is quite endearing really.

We also find out that visiting cats is the one thing that recharges him after a terrible day at work. Although perhaps it's not the only thing....

I guess to Sebastian, there are two things that are 'cuter than anything else'

At this point, I'd be thinking "ah well, maybe I'm just reading into things. In fact I'm not seeing anything at all." It's all very vague and open to interpretation. With this in mind, I click to the next chapter and—

Huh

That has got to be a Valentine's cover art. What the hell, what a jumpscare. I was not ready for that. Oh woe is me, a non shipper. How do I even interpret this??? It must be a metaphor or something hmmmm 🤔🤔😂

Sebastian is absolutely spoiling him here (maybe more than usual). The Valentine's chocolate strewn about, the piece of strawberry cake haphazard on the floor, the gifts (probably bought on a trip to the city), a knife stabbed into an apple that looks like a heart, another cake with rose decor, undressing his boots and letting Ciel step on him. The room is a sweet mess and Sebastian just seems to be indulging him...

In the next chapter, Ciel and company infiltrate Viscount Druitt's gala, dressed as a woman with Sebastian escorting him as his tutor. It's your typical undercover shoujo trope. "When needs must, just take his hand, they're simply pretending aren't they?"

Perhaps it's full circle for their initial waltz practice from chapter 2.

The next chapter opens with a cover art depicting Ciel and Sebastian as Katrina van Tassel and Ichabod Crane respectively, the main love interests from Sleepy Hollow.

In chapter 8, we are given more Contract Lore, almost like a vow between them, that Sebastian would never leave Ciel, that he would never lie to him, long as Ciel never leaves or escapes the demon. But just before that, the chapter opens with—

Oh, obviously! The author totally said it's not the answer because it's "just a hint." And that hint? Oh, it's in quotation marks—so clear, right? He said the readers can imagine whatever But surprise, surprise! The author actually *wants* them to get married.

And for you who still not getting it: After I posted, I guess tons of Reddit users sent DMs asking if it's true. I asked the author for confirmation, and guess what? He even drew the art and tweeted about it, explaining it was for a high schooler putting on a drama show. He’s totally happy to draw a flyer on his own (which refers to my theory. Coincidence?) and happy if you use it—but the kanji’s wrong, so don’t use it. But hey, I’m not using it with kanji, and no, I don’t think anyone *forced or harassed* him to draw or tweet it. But once again, no one can force or harass him to be happy and do anything he doesn’t want to.

Does this all make sense to you now, or is it still too complex and still thinks I harassed him to make Saiteru canon? Oh, and by the way, that's why I suggested you support the author's *favorite* ship. But, sure, what's your next move? Are you going to ask me to post all the private conversations for you? I hope you’ve got some manners and won’t ask, because I won’t show them. It’s private, you know? But if you're still clinging to any last shred of reflection, maybe try sending your own theory to the author and *harass* him to make Makoto and Kusuke marry. Yeah, you said you wouldn’t, but that’s your problem, not mine.

Seriously, take a good look at your own actions of being a police or a guardian of protecting *misinfo*. How do you feel when you’re wrong?Please mind your own business and *butt off*!

so the first one is the golf course au which i mentioned like. yesterday i think? which is basically just a bunch of nhlers working at a golf course because one day early in my liking of the nhl i went "ahah what if mitch did turf and saw auston and was like. Oh." because often golfers have like schedules and shit and come at the same day every week and stuff so. it basically started as a 1634 meet cute idea and exploded.

what happened is that i got into more teams in the nhl and my favourite players sort of just slotted into different roles at the golf course/as golfers.

(the reason a golf course, if that lore matters, is that i worked at one on turf so i was like ough.... minch turf worker. also my mom used johnny's golf cart once and so. i have a personal connection to the leafs golf stuff. epic.)

some highlights id say from the au are mechanic kris letang (and like. apprentice pojo) and sid and claude's rivalry (centring around who can do a full greens circuit fastest), and mceichel being a professional golfer tandem who slay on the course together.

i love this au because i loved my job and i feel like mitch would also love my job so yeah!! i have all my favourite (slash players related to my favourite) guys split up and it just makes me happy!!

the second one is based off of a musical called starlight express which i love because. i dont know. anyway.

i wanted to see my faves as trains, so i did so much fucking research on trains (including deeper and deeper research on many countries but specifically russian rail lines because holy shit, cross referenced with both the types of trains i wanted people to be and the different colours of trains that exist!!)

it was literally an excuse for me to draw the boys as trains in one of my favourite musicals, and basically devolved into me being like oh!! train races!! oughhhh .... ouhhhh train races ohh. because if you dont know anything about starlight express (which i would be surprised if you did) its basically about trains racing. there's also the final song in the musical is saurrrr hockey to me idk why... "There are dark days ahead/When the power goes dead/When the oil runs dry/What can we try?" to me any day i will go crazy....

heres some of my outfit doodles!! auston is a bnsf freight train, which both look better than union pacific trains to me and also go through arizona!! mitch is a go train passenger car, tyler is a go locomotive, sid is a cn freight train, geno is a freight train on the yuzhno-uralskaya railway (specifically the chelyabinsk railway division), leon is a deutsche bahn train (specifically an electric passenger locomotive), and connor is an lrt. prettyyy sure his colour scheme is that of the edmonton lrt (just checked, it is). none of them are steam trains. sorry andrew.

im the biggest giantest fan of mitch and tylers costumes because i will always have a special little place in my heart for the go train, although i dont use it much anymore. i also mourn that nobody ever is just from fucking toronto so i cant draw the subway or anything. maybe ill introduce busses give johnny an orange costume and call him the miway for a joke. anyway.

i guess theres no plot it was kinda just an excuse for me to make a stex au but. i did so much research and i still think about it all the time because i insane so.... yeah. thanks for biting my very obvious bait to get asked about my aus.....
