Hi! I was wondering if you would be open to doing a tutorial on how to draw a character in makeup?

i mean i’d love to give you some kind of in-depth step by step or whatever but the only character i usually draw in makeup is tango and that’s just.. smudge some dark grey on a multiply layer around his eyes, and put some red above that on a seperate normal layer (also smudged around) then merge those with the skin layer and colour the rest of the thing. because i do skin first and have all my colours on one layer for the most part. like idk what you want from me here i just kinda wing it

3) is your character more articulate in their thoughts than their words? if yes, do they do anything about that? do they care?

yes!! pen was given like. an education he shld’ve never had access to. like hes genuinely stupid about a lot of practical real-world things but he had really good training in history and politics and like. understanding political relationships between different places n how theyve changed n all of that. He Is Smart. he just like doesn't do anything about it because practically no one has taken him seriously n hes been belittled him his entire life lol!! and figuring out if he cares or not and his feelings on that requires too much emotional maturity n self reflection so he does not Know.

5 if they wear any, how does your character go about applying makeup? (methodically, nervously, messily, etc)

while hes been with the party, as long as they’re not like rushed in the morning he uses the mirror in his compact to draw out two little black hearts on his cheeks (or red hearts depends on the vibe)! sometimes he puts on a little blush from his compact too if he rlly rlly wants to. he would do more but he’s trying to conserve his makeup as long as possible and he didn't get an opportunity to bring a lot with him lol. he does his little barovia looks carefully n delicately but also like quickly just two little guys and then hes Done. but at home when he had access to all of his mom’s makeup he wld go wild...... little drawn on undereye lashes w eyeliner.... Glitter...... he wld have a set time every morning he wld put it on and he wld just like. have fun w it. self expression time

17 do they fidget? how and/or with what?

he does fidget! a big one is like pulling at the ribbons on his little jester fit, like undoing the bows and then retying them. less of a fidget but for stimming in general he really likes audio stims so he’ll like walk around or jump around so all of his bells jingle!! 

29 if they wear any, where did they get their jewelry?

pen has two necklaces!! one of them is a ring on a chain and it has like. his family’s house crest like u know the house crest rings so that ppl can stamp wax seals with them. but like. They Dont Have An Official House Crest Bc They R Just The Lipkas. but like. its the house crest him and judyta made for each other yfm. she gave it to him for his 16th birthday but pen wanted to share it with her so they would switch who wld wear it every day! He Is Holding Onto It Rn. his other necklace is the one that juniper made for him with the moss agate stone. and well. yeah. both of them are real special to him and they dont leave his sight lol

41 what’s the silliest thing they’ve used magic to do? if they don’t have magic, what’s something silly they’d use it for if they did?

i would say every time pen has used or attempted to use vicious mockery it has always been for silly purposes. but his silliest vicious mockey was the one where he recited the beginning of money machine to the fire elemental
