traditional writing is really where it's at for me, I have just written more on paper than I have managed to write on a keyboard in months
#ambie.txt#also freewriting in particular as well is what works for me#I always set a timer and give myself a clear goal in what I'm going to write about and then just go with whatever comes to mind#I will often go over the time limit but that's ok because the timer is more of a guidance for me#I just wrote 5 full pages for a fic after I spent months lamenting my inability to just sit down and write#sure it will need corrections but it's a first draft so that's okay and actually it's pretty good already all things considering#but most importantly I actually had fun doing it as opposed to me literally hating every second of writing on the computer#if I wanna edit this I will most likely transcribe it to a doc somewhere but it's not my priority at the moment#because holly hell I wrote prose and I had fun and it's actually way better than I feared and I'm so talented#turns out it was just the way I was doing things that was blocking me and I'm not lacking skills at all so!!#and this was after I tried to follow writing advice that was making me miserable#instead I just said “fuck it I do what I want” and... it worked#I'm also interested to see how much writing advice tailored specifically for audhd writers is out there#because I haven't found anything excluding one or two of my audhd mutuals#anyway im off on a tangent again djdnsns long story short writing on paper good for me writing on computer bad
