If itās pre-existing plans that you mention in your interview thatās kinda different, itās when youāve already got the job and started working then ask for a week off.
Also, specifically for leisure time - illness etc. are fine.
#asking cause the new kid at work is taking a week off after being with us for less than a month#because his parents decided to book a spontaneous week away in Greece#and weāre all kinda likeā¦wait at least three months before asking for a week off#like if itās already booked and in the diary at your interview and you bring it up then? thatās fine - you shouldnāt have to drop preexistin#plans#but if after two weeks of work you go āuhh can I have next week off? mummy and daddy have booked a week in Greeceā particularly when youāre#only meant to be with us for 7 weeks anyway? feels kinda iffy

Mystic Messenger - Wedding Headcanons (Bride! MC)
--- Zen ---
Zen's a surprisingly down-to-earth man, and he wanted the wedding to be a modest, but gorgeous affair. Itās a rooftop wedding, where everyone gets to see the two most beautiful people in the world get married amidst a bright, morning cityscape. Zen creates an amazing set of custom vows that make him cry, and it ruins his makeup but he doesnāt care.Ā
Itās all paid with his and your own money, which isnāt a whole lot but enough to afford a very put-together package. Zen insisted on catering from a famous brewery, and thereās a very nice open beer-on-tap bar.
Thereās also a very important scheduled evening dance, of course. Your new husband asks for your hand like youāre royalty, and the two of you begin a very romantic slow-dance with a specific playlist in the background. When that ends, the music picks up and everybody starts getting a little wild. That delicious beer must have kicked in.
Zenās arm rarely ever leaves your waist for the rest of the evening. He begins to refer to you asĀ āmy SPOUSEā to everyone you have a conversation with. His face is literally glowing with pride.
By the time the two of you get married, Zenās a very established actor, so its a celebrity wedding that attracts reporters and curious starwatchers. The two of you graciously (you more than Zen) accept Juminās gift of security guards to keep them off the venue.
The honeymoon is a beautiful week spent in the Maldives, enjoying the therapeutic beach life. Paparazzi end up hounding the two of you a little bit, but nothing can truly ruin this bliss. This perfect love.
--- Yoosung ---
Heās been dreaming of this day and its finally here!! He almost canāt believe it, and spends a lot of the planning just kinda fanboying himself. He canāt decide between themes and packagesĀ ācause it all seems wonderful to him. His parents end up helping quite a bit, especially on the parts he finds particularly confusing, like booking a venue and managing costs.
The two of you eventually settle on a garden-like wedding, taking place in a beautiful park. He loves the vintage lace look of your dress, and matches with an old-hollywood-style suit. Thanks to the advice from his family, the two of you avoided purchasing entire wedding packages and instead sourced everything from different retailers, which required a lot more research but saved money.Ā
The two of you said your vows underneath a gazebo lined with flowers, and then walked back down the park to the reception area while everyone tossed bucketfuls of petals upon the two of you. Yoosung was tearing up pretty badly from happiness, and almost tripped twice. By the time you guys made it to the dining tables, Yoosungās glasses were fogged and he couldnāt stop smiling.Ā
The reception lasted longer than plannedĀ ācause everyone was having so much fun. You two had hired a pizza truck that carted their wood-burning oven on-site, along with a massive snack table and colorful cocktail dispensers. Yoosung asked to dance once, twice, and maybe five more times. You had to take off your heels to keep up with him, which just made the moment that much more beautiful.
The honeymoon had to be short, but it was a peaceful five days spent in Shanghai.Ā
--- Jaehee ---
One of the first things planned was going to local fashion shows and shopping for dresses, since according to Jaehee, it was this season that designers begin to shell out the good stuff. Jaehee settled on a cream-colored silk trumpet dress with an embroidered veil. You chose a dress embroidered with gold-colored thread to match hers.Ā
And that set the tone for rest of the wedding. Gold decor, pearly-white chiffon, and dots of warm red embellishing the tablecloths, bouquets, and plate settings. Jaehee was always the one on the phone with the planners, since she had That Business Voice which made everything go so much more smoothly.
You married in a temple, an hour away from the city. Jaehee and you met at the altar simultaneously, and held hands over vows. You could see her tearing up for the first time ever.Ā
The reception was held in a small park nearby, where a light catering was offered underneath a large tent, along with several chocolate fountains and bottles of expensive champagne. Jaehee really wanted to avoid a huge social event, since her past job at C&R required a lot of boring business events. So after speeches were delivered and everyone had their fill of chocolate and wine, you all barreled into your cars and zoomed back home for the afterparty, which was a lot more casual and involved blaring Zenās musicals on the flatscreen while everyone played drinking games.
The two of you had a long and indulgent honeymoon spent traveling between Greece and Italy, doing everything from spa hotels to skydiving. You ended up with two albumās worth of pictures to remember it by.
--- Jumin ---
You might have thought heād be pulling out all stops when it comes to the wedding, but the manās a devoted Christian - even if he doesnāt show his religious side often, it was important to him that his holy union wasnāt too ostentatious.Ā
But heās still Jumin, so everythingās designer. The outfits, the catering, the decorations, the transportation, even the invitations sent out were on luxury emboss paper lined with real gold leaf. So your wedding actually begins a few days before it even starts, with a visit to a celebrity spa for a red-carpet all-over treatment, and then you spend hours getting your hair, makeup, and nails done.Ā
Both the ceremony and the reception are held in a large, lavish hall. Thereās a huge crowd of guests for business reasons, along with reporters and other representatives from the press, plus even some politicians. When Jumin takes your hand at the altar, thereās a literal spotlight shining on the two of you while the room grows dramatically dark.
So your wedding is kinda a publicized business event, which isnāt super ideal but Jumin tried his best to keep it as special as possible. He deferred to you when it came to almost all the decisions, such as the color scheme of the decor, and what kind of menu you wanted. Almost everything was based off of your preferences, which is what Jumin wanted. He desired nothing but you as his spouse, and thatās what he was getting.Ā
Jumin rarely ever gets overly emotional, including at his own wedding, but for the rest of the evening he couldnāt keep his eyes off you, and whenever you turned your head your new husband was smiling, absolute adoration in his eyes.
The honeymoon is a worldwide tour, of course. With cruises, five-star hotels, attending operas, and dining at the most famous places.
--- Saeyoung ---
Heās free from the agency and Mint Eye both, and he has you with him. He never been be happier, or feel more free than he ever did. So the wedding reflects it; itās held outside, by the sea, lightly managed so thereās almost no schedule to adhere to.Ā
Itās super important that he makes his vows to you under god. So it takes some digging until he finds an actual church thatās within a short distance from a gorgeous beach. The two of you marry under brightly lit stained glass windows before hopping into one of his sports cars and race to the reception area. The other guests have to catch up.
He cries at the ceremony, of course. He eventually leaves his glasses off because his eyes keep welling up. He recites from the bible. You can feel his hands shaking.Ā
And at the reception, itās p a r ty time. Thereās music playing and a very important playlist is playing that the two of you made beforehand. The catering is seafood and barbecue. Thereās very little alcohol, and lots of dessert.Ā
Itās a smaller crowd of guests, but thatās what made it so special. You all played at the beach with spontaneous games of badminton, or dunked yourselves into the beach then running off laughing, and joked amongst yourselves for hours, long after night came around and the area was lit up with Saeyoungās jacked lighting system.
The honeymoon is spent in South Korea, in Jeju-do where the two of you go on sunny car rides along the cliffs, go spelunking in gorgeous caves that light up like the universe, and stay in a traditional bathhouse.Ā
--- Saeran ---
Saeran will always and forever adore theĀ āprincessā aesthetic on you. When you two first met, his Ray alter embodied and obsessed over it, but nowadays he simply enjoys the magical romance of a fairytale love story. It reminds him of his longing daydreams when he was younger, and how it all eventually came true.
Itās an evening wedding, held in a hotel banquet hall, planned and catered by an expensive company he and his brother both shelled enthusiastically to purchase. He didnāt really know anybody aside from the RFA and you, and only made like one or two other friends since beginning recovery. So you invited all your friends and family you knew would support the two of you, and it turned out to be an intimate but loving crowd.
SOOO many flowers. Bouquets dot the walls, sit at every table, and line the isle. And Saeran beforehand prepared your bridal bouquet himself. It was a very carefully crafted arrangement that masterfully relayed a thorough message of love, commitment, and family.
Saeranās quiet but surprisingly calm. Itās just ... pure happiness. Heās every bit a prince when he takes your hand at the altar. This wedding marked more than the beginning of your union, it was evidence that his life was good.
He wasnāt super enthused about traveling anywhere for the honeymoon, and wanted to spend the time alone with you at home, where its safe and familiar. But you convinced him that an extreme change of scenery can do wonders for his depression and anxiety. So the two of you spent an amazing twelve days in Canada, where he got to experience a world heād never seen before. He took really well to hiking, which turned out to be a great low impact exercise option for his frail physical health.Ā
--- Jihyun ---
The receptionās held outside, by the Suncheon Bay area - a beautiful national wetland park with amazingly unique scenery and wildlife. The ceremony beforehand is held inside, and its short and sweet with custom vows.
Heād want a Catholic wedding if itās okay with you, or if not, a fusion wedding where the vows arenāt religious but its overseen by a pastor, or something like that.Ā
As a photographer, heās surprisingly anal about the timing of the event. There has to be the perfect amount of natural sunlight during the wedding. So the ceremony is held in the late morning, then he quickly urges you outside where beautiful pictures are taken of the two of you standing amidst gorgeous nature.Ā
Thereās a surprisingly big crowd. Jihyun is a popular man, so aside from the RFA thereās his various art friends, his other friends, his older friends, not to mention your own friends and family. His father does show up, but itās sadly stilted.
Heās worldly and artsy, so the banquet is multicultural, with lots of his personal favorites heās experienced from around the world. You notice a lot of french bread.
And donāt forget, heās a rich boy! So everythingās quality stuff. You donāt have to worry about expenses with him. Heās not ostentatious to the level of Jumin, but heās still got a packing wallet.
The honeymoon is spent touring Central America, which he particularly loves for its blazing sun and colorful culture. You split the trip between luxury all-inclusive resorts, and countryside roughing it.

CHARACTER BASICS
FACECLAIM: Saoirse Ronan
NAME: Larkspur Durham Fox
AGE: 27
BIRTHDAY: July 20, 1993
OCCUPATION: PhD Candidate in History at Icaria University / Freelance copywriter and Editor
HOMETOWN: Calgary, Alberta, Canada (although she has not lived there since she was twelve)
PETS: Red-eared slider turtles named Justin Turtleake and Alanis Tortoisette
POWERS
Manipulation in volume and origin point of the sound of the human voice in real time. While technically unvoiced consonants are not, well, voiced, she can take those along for the ride too. Unable to distort the contents of the speech (or scream, I guess), but can make them inaudible or painfully loud with perfect clarity. This ability does work on recorded voices, but has less effectiveness the more distortion is built into the audio. Lark has an odd tendency to slightly raise her own volume without thinking about it, but sheās also just loud without powers. Your guess is as good as hers when sheās using powers or just shouting. She would be better with her powers if she made a point of using them, but she has not tested them heavily outside of verbal conjecture. While she has never tried it, Lark considers her best offensive tactic to shift the origin point to within an opponentās inner ear and amplify.. but sheās a pacifist, and does not like to think about it.
BIOGRAPHY
Lark came in two volumes: Loud and VERY LOUD. An intellectually brilliant radical anarchist, she was prone to protesting against Icariaās government and for a different cause every week. Although she certainly spread awareness for some significant issue, not every cause Lark champions is noteworthyā¦ or even logical. Whoever came within her radar will inevitably hear an earful. She could best be described as a gigantic nerd- particularly history- that knows a lot of stuff but lacks in common sense.
Her conception kicked off in a dramatic fashion. Diana Fox was a sixteen year old Canadian teenager when she attended her first protests (various feminist ones, mostly). After one of them, she met up with a strange guy who just seemed to get it who would debate her for fun. He (the god Zelus) was definitely too old for her, but she lied about her age, and ended up pregnant after a few trysts. Diana decided to keep the kid, but she most definitely wasnāt ready to be a mother. Thinking the name sounded cool, Diana named her daughter āLarkspurā after pretty flowersā¦ and also she was kind of a punk who got a kick out of her kid being named after something poisonous. And that was about as much contribution as little Larkspurās parents offered up in terms of upbringing for those early years. Gods werenāt about that sort of child-raising life, and Diana wanted to enjoy what remained of her adolescence.
Cecilia and Dale Fox stepped up, and raised their granddaughter. Larkspur adored her grandparents, even if they did not quite expect to have to raise a baby at their age. They were only in their late forties, but had not expected to deal with a grandchild while they were both still working. Ceciliaās job didnāt pay as well, so she took a few years off to be the primary caretaker for the little girl age four and preschool became an option. Larkspur frankly thought her name was embarrassing. Ā She was much happier to go by Lark in school, or even just Fox. Even though her mother could have cared less about books and learning, Lark took to school rather well. Rarely needing to study, Lark knocked out essays and reports without thinking too hard about it. Marks didnāt mean much to her, but she still skipped grade two and continued to excel academically.
When Lark was nine, Dale started to get sick, which inspired Diana to head back home. After moving back in, Diana tried to be more than a parent, but only when it was convenient. Lark saw right through her mother, and clung to her grandmother, or shut herself up in her room for a while. The only time that Lark felt really close to her mom was when she took her along to protests. Lark was absolutely arrested for protesting before, but it never resulted in any real convictions. Her mom is the one whoās actually seen prison time, which Lark always considered extremely cool. Diana and Dale could not be considered sterling examples of propriety, but they did not quite agree with the coolness level of any criminal activity. They always did their best to point the kids (i.e. Diana and Lark) in the right direction.
Not that long after returning home, Diana explained the mystery of Larkās parentage to the family using print-outs of search results from Google. Even after doing some research on Zelus, Lark decided that her dad was terrible, and did not actively seek him out. Lark met her father once, and while he was less awful in person than she had expected, she still could not get over his poor judgment. Later in life, Lark would make a game out of ignoring him when he visited on Icaria. Anyway, Larkās grandparents were the best parents that she could have asked for, and her motherā¦ helped.
It devastated the family when Dale passed away when Lark was twelve, but Cecilia took it especially poorly. Ā When the opportunity came up, Cecilia accepted a job transfer opportunity with slightly better pay in the UK, where she was born (while technically she was from Northern Ireland, the job was in England where some family lived). Diana wanted to stay in Calgary, but Lark wanted to go with her grandmother. Making her first mature decision in a long time, Diana conceded, and applied for jobs overseas.
Lark had never been a popular child, and her ease of making friends did not suddenly improve after moving thousands of miles away. The person that she got on best with was Steffi, a recent transplant from Germany. Since Steffi did not seem to have any friends either, Lark latched on immediately. The mean comments did not exactly phase Lark (especially because the older girl didnāt seem to outright hate the idea of being friends). While they were very good friends, it still did not come up in conversation where they both settled on schools until acceptance time came. Heidelberg Universityās History program was amazing, and Lark couldnāt turn down how reasonably priced German schools were. She casually-but-not-casually suggested that she and Steffi room together, and was pleasantly surprised to start the next year with a roommate that wanted to be friends. Their friendship was always odd and a little codependent, and Lark sometimes struggled to figure out whether her infatuation with Steffi was strongly platonic or a romantic crush. Whatever it was, Steffi apparently did not have any romantic feelings for her, and Lark wondered if that was for the best. After that graduation (Lark was 20 at the time), Lark and Steffi went to separate universities for graduate school, and largely lived separate lives apart from a few odd chance encounters. Lark even began to make more like-minded friends in her Musicology masters program at the University of Birmingham. The professors seemed not to hate her either; she was āa pleasure to have in classā but not the student with the highest grades.
After finishing off her masters, Lark stuck around Birmingham for a year. She wrote prolifically- scholarly writing for her own enjoyment, and copywriting professionally. The future seemed murky, but Lark assumed that she would head back into academia at some point. She had no plans of moving to Icaria until she got her heart figuratively ripped to shreds, and decided on a spontaneous move to Greece.
It had never seemed like a good idea to mention her demigod status until Lark and Steffi bumped into each otherā¦ on Icaria. Overjoyed to have her friend back, Lark suggested rooming together again, but this was shot down. She kept up her freelance positions, but she had a difficult experience filling her time. Eventually, she decided on starting up a PhD program in history at the local university (on the topic of musicās impact on ancient Greece). Unfortunately, Larkās previous tendencies toward procrastination have not served her well without a short timeline to hide behind. The June 2021 deadline has haunted her ever since she started it up, but she leveraged many distractions.
